First off, the child actors (familiar faces we see throughout most dramas during this time period) is absolutely SUPURB. They portray realistic acting during a really serious and sad time in their childhood lives. The story starts out very dark and emotional, so if you are not able to watch those kinds of scenes, then I suggest you skip this drama because you need to watch them in order to continue the rest of the drama and be able to keep up.
I do suggest not waiting as long as I did to get through the episodes because it took a while for my mind to refresh the story in order to understand the later episodes.
The story is fresh, heart-wrenching, and emotionally draining. However, it is in typical Melo fashion and I LOVE melos. If you dont like them, or are iffy, dont watch this one. It is VERY melo and it isnt suitable for all audiences.
Cast is excellent. I didnt care for the two main adult leads in the beginning, but after a while they grew on me and it all comes together. They are great actors and fit their parts very, very well. They also did a great job on the child actors. They are believably the same person as they grow up. That doesnt happen as much as it should in a lot of dramas. I am sure its hard to find.
The OST is great. It really fits. I give it a because if I hear it on my Spotify (web based radio), I turn it up in the car (and look all crazy).
I give the rewatch value a 2. I dont rewatch dramas, period. Not even my favorite ones, or the ones that are light. I just cant. Never have and I probably never will unless there is a drama shortage and I have to watch the same ones over and over again. However, for those that do rewatch dramas, I dont suggest it. Unless the emotions you felt make you want to see it and you cant get those from another drama. Otherwise, I would just watch this one once, savor their moments and move on. It isnt a light drama therefore rewatching it might cheapen and and I wouldnt suggest that!
Overall, I give this drama a 10. I gave it a 7.5 for 2 years because it never really clicked with me and It was hard for my to get into. I contemplated dropping it for a long time. However, the mood was just right and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I highly suggest this drama to those who need a good, emotional piece that will keep you hooked for many reasons. I know the reason I wasnt hooked - I just wasnt in the mood for this. But, when you get in the mood - it will suck you in and keep you there until you cant be kept any longer! It is original, emotional, sad, agonizing and yet you cant look away when youre hooked.
I hope this helped! Enjoy Missing You, I Miss You!

It seems that the series was cut by two episodes, I admit I don't understand why because it really needed those last two to finish the story adequately.
I gave it an 8 because I did enjoy it, however it lost two points in my rating for the hurried incomplete ending :(

I liked how they changed a few things in the show and showed us another version of DN. I didn't really like the anime or manga, but I love the show and the movies. And even the CGI was great, much better than what you see in the Hollywood movies.
There isn't a single thing I didn't like here, everything was in it's place perfectly. Although I already knew what will happen in the end, I was shocked. The final episode was the BEST I think. But that's my opinion.

STORY
The story revolves around a restaurant that's only open from 12 midnight to 7 in the morning. He doesn't really have a menu, if he has the ingredients, he'll make you whatever you want. The whole show is about the people that come and go through the restaurant. In all the times that he's been the proprietor of the restaurant, Master (that's what his customers call him), has met interesting people. His regular customers get their story told too. Some episodes are not as memorable as the rest.
ACTING/CAST
I actually watched this drama for Nam Taehyun. I really think he's not that bad of an actor. He acts the way he's supposed to act, I think. But the other actors are great too.
Kim Seung Woo as Master, I think did a good job to appear the friendly restaurant owner.
I love the regular customers who pop up from time to time.
Nam Taehyun plays Minwoo, a student who has so many part time jobs.
Choi Jae Sung who plays Ryu, the mysterious gangster with a heart of gold.
Jung Han Hun (Mr. Kim, the fisherman) & Joo Won Sung (quack doctor), I love their friendly banter.
Jin Seo Yun as Cherry, she works at the bar close by
Park Jun Myun as the manga writer
Ban Min Jung, Song Hwa Ryeong & Jang Hee Jung as the Noodle sisters. Compared to their Japanese counterparts, I like them better.
Son Sang Gyeong as Deongchi, Ryu's scary looking but kinda like a big teddy bear bodyguard.
At the end of most episodes, there's like scenes of his customers going home. I cried seeing the very last one because the show made me like the camaraderie between all of them.
There were a lot of the well known actors as guests like Ji Jin Hee, Oh Ji Ho, Seo Woo, Ahn Jae Wook, Lee Ki Woo etc.
MUSIC
There's not really that much of a music. But I love the opening song "Till the Morning Comes" by Younha.
REWATCH VALUE
Definitely! The episodes are only 30 minutes and like I said, I really like the cast. They made me laugh, they made me cry.
OVERALL
Compared to the original version, I'd rather watch this than that one. I maybe k-drama biased but I really think the original was more boring.

A MUST SEE NOT LIKE THOSE RECENT AVERAGE AND POPULAR DRAMA THAT MAKES YOU FALL ASLEEP AFTER 3 EPISODES

The script writing was very well done too. Usually dramas will leave us thinking to ourselves, how did this happen and why? But Healer covered everything well and there weren't any plot loopholes that made you think 'this could have happened too' or 'this doesn't make sense'.
The chemistry between the two main leads were mind blowing and believable. You could almost touch and feel the love they shared...it was that great! Trust me, you won't regret watching this 20 episodes drama.

I really wanted to watch this one through but it's such a big investment of my time for it to be boring even 7 hours in -.-
Maybe I'll finish it later

This is a story of greed. The story starts about four characters, four sides, playing each other off, until only one is self on top of the empire. A man coming from the ghetto, who will do anything he can to get on top of the world, on top of those who step on him, not out of revenge, but of envy. A man always there next to that empire, but can never enter it. So close yet too far, he will stop at nothing to take it from those who deny it to him. A woman alone on top of the empire, who always wanted to escape it, but finds herself being the only one part of that empire capable of preserving it. Finally a woman who's own self-victimization keeping her from realizing her truth, greedy and selfish. Most of the drama is spent sitting, either having a meal or drinking tea. During those events, allies happen, betrayals, power switched from one hand to another, lives change, some go to prison, other to castles. It is a hell of a life.
As for the acting, it really got me hooked! I think it's my first time watching Go Soo, and oh boy he swept me off my feet. He's flawless, with a beautiful face that he sure isn't afraid to uglify it to suit the mood and state of the character he plays Tae Joo. Tae Joo sure is an inspiring character. Despite being a greedy jerk, what made him capable of turning his fortune he is what I would call a great leader. He manages to move people to his side, have them loyal to him, all in this together, taking the same path. As one of the characters say, he manages to both fill his stomach and his heart. That is where Seo Yoon fails, and will never fill anyone's heart. Her attitude of always telling people *stay put, behave, and I will take care of everything for you* is overbearing. She is very loyal to the family, but her way of showing it, in short, sucks. I'm not a fan of Lee Yo Won, but she plays her character magnificently. Son Hyun Joo is AMAZING! He can do the most devilish thing, but the moment he does this sad look in his eyes, he just gets to me! He was the one I was rooting for, for the most run of the drama. The chemistry that got me hooked was the one between Go Soo and Son Hyun Joo. When they are fighiting, when they are allies, and they face each other off, there's this excitement when they share the screen together.
There are many other intriguing characters. The list is too long, but just a couple of highlights: Uhm Hyo Seop as Won Jae, the older brother that is too simple for that hell of a world; Jang Shin Young as Seol Hee, who find a way out of her greed always has an interesting story to tell; Ryu Seung Soo as the awkward gangster with a sense of humour; Kim Mi Sook as Sung Jae's Mom's was terrific.
Other than those points, another terrific point is the soundtrack. It was overall a good soundtrack but there was this dramatic music that played out every time a new turn of fortune happen, and had this way of adding of drama and excitement to the scene. I got really addicted to it.
As I said the drama is not perfect. One of the main issue it may not have many people complete it, and the reason it took me so LONG to finish it myself is that it drains my energy, specially when you have someone rooting AGAINST. Every time I finish an episode, it just becomes too hard to start a new one, but once I start the episode, I couldn't take my eyes off it, as much as it drained me.
Another issue is one I have with many kdramas, there is no sense of time passing. We meet the characters from the time they are in there mid to late 20s (or older), and over 15 years pass, but they are as beautiful as ever, no sense of aging at all. It takes out from the sense of realism, especially when so much emphasize is put on the time those battles took from our protagonists' lives. There was also not much care put to show the different eras the story goes through, from the 90s to the 2Ks. Finally, as the episodes go by, the amount of flashbacks kept increasing, and while I was watching this drama very slowly, I didn't need THIS MANY reminders of what this person said or did.
So to summarize it all, it is an amazing, unique drama, that is for a specific audience. It's not perfect by any means, but it excels in its good points. If you like an intelligent drama about people's greed, playing each other off, and corporate politics that mirror real life politics, then that is the drama for you. However, it is NOT a drama about the romance between a self-made man and a heiress. Sometimes I wonder how the drama would've turned out if it followed the synopsis, but I realize it'd probably just be like another kdrama. Then again with such genius writing who knows.
