Overall, this show is pretty mediocre and kind of cute. It is lighthearted and funny but also deals with complicated issues in a sensitive manner. The plot is simple and the pace slow but not too slow, with a few flashbacks here and there it is not repetitive, rather a bit dull. Like the drama laws go, the first half of the show has a faster pace and more comedy but, as it often happens, the pace slows and slows. Episodes 11-16 feel like they could have been compressed into just a few episodes and that way the show could have been way more enjoyable. The past memories are revealed in a nice way, one at a time throughout the show, so there is always something to look forward to. In the end, all questions are answered and no loose ends are left.

The acting is okay. Ha No Ra seems annoying at first, but you get used to her really fast as the story moves on. Hyeon Seok seems really arrogant at first, he pulls and pushes No Ra the way he wants and that made me cringe a bit. I'm not a hardened feminist and don't usually pay much attention to these kind of things in Kdramas but Hyeon Seok... Yeah. In my opinion, the chemistry between the main characters is better in the first half of the show, then it dulls a bit.

The side characters remain vague throughout the show which is a big minus. But an interesting thing is that "the bad guys" are portrayed very human, they are just people who made selfish mistakes in the past. They realize what they have done, regret and are given a second chance.

This show could have been way better with just a few little changes in the plot. All in all, it's a pretty usual Kdrama with the usual Kdrama things in it, some things are not highlighted that much (such as love rivals) and that's a relief, it makes the show more realistic. That's a real good thing about this show, it's pretty realistic.

As a former intern myself and now a working professional, I LOVED this show so much. The direction, the writing, captured the mundanity, the shuffling of papers, the silent murmuring of your colleagues, in a typical office. An office where you can feel eyes following you if you aren’t dressed your best that day, where you’re on constant alert and always aware that your every move goes towards evaluation of your performance on the job.

At first, I struggled to put into words why I enjoyed this show so much. I guess it’s because there are so many relatable and very human moments in this show, and lessons to be learnt. And they are pretty universal, but feel especially relevant to those who work in office environments and large organizations.

The characters are well-developed, and they mostly don’t make decisions that are baffling or completely illogical. Even if they do, their characters and backstories are so well filled-up that you understand and/or empathize with their situations.

Im Shi-wan always strikes me as being too pretty, but I did watch him in The Attorney and he was excellent there. He is also excellent. At the beginning, I found his prettiness really distracting, but he plays the reserved and thoughtful Jang Geu-rae perfectly.

Lee Sung Min is excellent as a frazzled, but compassionate and dogged supervisor, whose gruff demeanour betrays his tender heart.

Byun Yo Han is truly the breakout star of this series, playing a chirpy and sparkling character who must also overcome obstacles and learn what it means to be a worker. Glad to know he’s know getting good roles that are also fitting for his age.

I can totally envision myself rewatching specific episodes, especially after a tough day at work.

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this show to all.

Upon checking the previous reviews and comments, I realized not a lot of people liked this drama and had almost the same complaint. I would also have to admit that I was the same. I had to put the drama on hold for a long time before resuming it. I guess the first few episodes were pretty much disappointing compared to the original storyline.
Do take note that this live action drama is VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE WEBTOON. If you are watching for that reason, beware and do not put your expectations too high.

If I would be rating this prior to the saguek part, it would probably have received a 5/10 for me. For the saguek period, I give it a 7/10. Post sageuk and after finishing the whole drama, I give it an 8/10 and here are my following reasons for the different ratings.

Pre-sageuk:
I felt that the drama was a bit draggy and had this vampire teenage angst going on, then not to forget that I have read the Webtoon version which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was pretty much hard not to compare, which I did throughout the episodes and had myself disappointed a lot of times. It might have been better if I haven't read the webtoon first prior to watching the drama, unfortunately... the drama came 1 month after I have read the whole thing. But anyway, the first few episodes for me was blah. The fact that I wasn't a fan of the lead guy did not help at all. The other cast members were pretty much new to me as well, except for the parents of the main characters who I think brought something in at the table with their pro-acting skills.

Sageuk:
I know a lot of people hated this part, but not me. I love sageuk and this was probably one of the reason why continued on with the show, despite the fact that this was not even part of the original webtoon story line. I'm glad though that they included this, because if not, the drama would have probably ended at 6-8 episodes. This part explained a lot of things about the vampire community, the history of their diet and the treaty between normal humans and vampires. It had the cute, the romance and the exact heart breaking scenes you need in a drama to keep you moving forward. It also told the backdrop about the fate of the main characters.

Post Sageuk:
Initially, I didn't feel like continuing on with the whole thing because I was already satisfied with the saguek part so I put this on hold for a few months, but I knew I had to finish this and so I did. There was this sort of dismal feeling on the first few minutes of episode 11, but the songs and bits of change in the story line made me push through. I guess the last 2 episodes were able to give closure to the whole story and I accepted it with a whole heart.

Other bits that made me like the drama:
Second Leads - I enjoyed the fact that the supporting characters had shifted in their attitude. The way the actors delivered it may not be perfect but they still definitely gave me the feels. Compared to the webtoon - the attitude change did happen and I'm really happy about that.

Music - it was cute, bubbly and left me with a good feeling. Seol Hyun and Lee Jong Hyun's voice were pretty good. In each of their solo songs, I was caught in a bit of trance. I'd prefer rock anytime, but having to listen to their music gave me a different feeling all over.

Overall, I liked the drama and how it changed my mind on rating it. I don't feel cheated at all that I watched the whole 12 episodes. I probably just needed a different perspective.

Never have a ever loved a drama as much as this. Ever. Out of all channels tvn always produces my most favourite dramas and is without a doubt my favourite channel. They always manage to produce a drama with endearing characters, great humour, amazing story lines and OST's that I find myself repeating over month and months. A lot of drama watchers either have this go under their radar or put it on their 'to watch' list. I am telling you now, MOVE THIS DRAMA TO THE 'CURRENTLY WATCHING LIST'!!!! NOW.

The storyline of this isn't merely a 'noona romance', to be honest I would count that as a minor detail in this drama (so if you don't like noona romances don't worry). What amazes me about this drama is how each cliche was re-written to fit the lighthearted and funny tone of the show to the point that you actually forget that it is a cliché. The humour is what propelled this drama to the top of my 'rematch because it's amazing list'.

The characters, there is no way I can write about them without gushing. Seo In Guk is one of my favourite actors and brought this drama to life through his portrayal of a high school student. Min Suk eventually was not a character that Seo In Guk was playing but it WAS him. Every line and expression drew me in and made me love him more and more. Min Suk was adorably childish but not in a way that made him annoying, but in a way where you loved his heart and the fact that he could always find the good in a person. Seo In Guk shocked me more when he played Min Suk's brother. How could a person act so different? Everything movement, expression even the tone of voice helped to identify Hyunsuk and highlighted how good Seo in Guk was at acting. The fact that he could instantly change characters just by his presence blew my mind.

Jung Soo Young at first was very weird. Very out there, but eventually she became endearing and such a nice change to the typical kdrama heroine. Her development throughout the drama was amazing. In the beginning she was someone who was pushed around and faded into the background. Eventually she blossomed and learnt to stand on her own two feet. She shined throughout the drama and was so relatable.

Lee Soo Hyuk surprised me in this drama. You go from feeling hate towards him to pity and rooting for him to have a happy ending. His cute childish bromance with Seo In Guk was always great to watch and made me smile. I hope he does more rom-com's as he was great in this and really showed of his acting skills.

I have to also say that the writers did an amazing job of making ALL characters shine not matter how small or large a role they had. Every character made the drama all the more amazing from the office staff to Min Suk's grandpa. As for the music? I still listen to all of the OST's over and over and especial love Seo In Guk- Finding myself. An amazing singer and actor, what can this man not do?

So if you find yourself contemplating whether you should watch this drama or not I am telling you…NO… urging you to watch this. You won't regret it and you will find yourself laughing and crying with all the characters.

Unfortunately this happened to be one of those dramas where you wish you didn't waste 15 hours on. The first couple of episodes had a chance. Then the rest or drama just crashed and burned. I no longer was emotionally invested and was only watching it to finish the drama as I hate dropping one.

Having seen Shin Hye and Yonghwa in You're Beautiful as the couple that never was, I decided to watch this drama to see what the chemistry between these two would be like when faced as a couple.
I'd like to tell you they had amazing chemistry and their love was sweet and made me envious, however it was actually just really awkward to watch. I wasn't convinced these two LIKED each other let alone were in LOVE with each other. I actually preferred it when they hated each other. You'd think that the kiss scenes would bring out SOME chemistry between them? Nope. Nothing, just frozen fish kisses.

The overall acting itself was just terrible. Yes, Yonghwa was supposed to be cold and disinterested and rude but that does not mean he had to cancel out all other emotions. There are plenty of other dramas with his type of character that are able to display a range of emotions and draw me in. However, his performance just felt so flat and monotone. He definitely did not convince me that he had amazing acting skills.

The only thing that I did really like about the drama was the music. The music in the drama was great and managed to show the emotions of the scenes really well.

This is not one that I would recommend or rematch. Unless you want to watch it for the music… go ahead but you are in for a long 15 episodes.

When my friend first raved about this drama, I was very hesitant. I usually avoid anything to do with sci- fi or aliens. But after she kept nagging at me to watch I decided to try it.

Eventually it became one of my favourite dramas ever! Story wise the drama did have some cliches but the writers did know how to re-write the cliches in a way that was new and fresh using humour and the unique concept of falling in love with an alien.

What sold it for me were the actors, they were refreshing and made each of the characters have a lot of depth. Before this drama I had only ever seen Kim Soo Hyun as the country boy Samdong in Dream High and thought I would find it hard to see him as a manly, cold but good looking alien. Watching this drama made me forget his previous role and his character drew me in. Jun Ji Hyun played her role as a hallyu star in a way which made her seem absolutely crazy but still relatable and loveable. Whilst some may think that her character was too over the top, you have to remember that the drama is about an alien falling in love with a human. So yes there are other aspects that will make it slightly 'out there' but the writers worked hard to still make the realistic and relatable.

Initially I did think that Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun did look slightly strange together, like an aunt and her nephew. But the chemistry won me over and pretty soon I was rooting the two on! :)
Even the villain was great! Just the right among of evil without going too overboard. Shin Sung Rok definitely made me hate him in a good way and I was impressed with his acting skills.
One thing I will say is that Yoo In Naa's character did not have as much of a development that I would have liked.

Music wise, there was nothing too special or memorable. The songs were nice to listen to at the time but I wouldn't find myself listening to the OST again and again.

As for whether I would rematch this again… I already have… 3 times! The humour, the characters and the romance definitely are the things that always make me rematch this drama. This drama is always one that I miss and get a 'drama heartache' because I love it so much. Watch it guys! You won't regret it!

This drama was ... well it started off funny and full of laughs, then turned into a thriller, then into a melo, then into a mystery. It was good though. I thought the writing was tight for a while. But after episode 12, things started going downhill. Not in a major way, just that the plot holes became obvious, gaping craters.

What really kept me hooked was the thriller/mystery aspect. I swear, I became anxious and nervous waay too much in this drama. It was harrowing and uncomfortable when it was happening, but when the plott holes became bigger and things started to drag a little (not to mention our fav detective losing a few brain cells) I missed the nerves. Nerves indicate a good drama.

The romance here was top notch. The actors did commendable work, especially Shin Se Kyung whose acting improved by leaps and bounds. She's great here. Our hero as well is flawless in his work. He was smart (-ish sometimes), funny, comforting, clingy, jealous, and bada** when he needed to be. I was of course, impressed with the progression of the romance. It developed quickly, they hugged and showed more closeness than I've ever seen in a kdrama. Also they didn't let misunderstanding cloud their judgement and halt their relationship. They leaned on eachother and stayed through thick and thin, giving eachother strength. I look for that in dramas and I'm glad I found it here. They really represented a normal dating couple. I loved their lines and their actions.

But, the person who carried this show is Nam Gung Min. His character had me curious as to what he's going to do next. He was super smart, but unlike other dramas, our main leads and their colleague was smart too. It was refreshing to see a smart lead like Oh Cho Rim and the team leader. Finally!

I may rewatch this. The music was fitting in every scene too. This was a good drama and it did not drag much, just the last 3 episodes. I didn't mind because it was full of fluff and I love fluff, so it didn't drag for me. Plot holes though hahahha. Watch out for plot holes after ep13.

So this drama is cute and funny and it had me laughing quite a lot at the beginning

My problem with this drama was that the first half was great but towards the end from episode 10 onwards it just got boring. I found myself skipping scenes just to get through it all. I really liked the premise of this drama though, and how it turns gender roles on it's head, with the male being the naive innocent and the female the career-oriented strong person. I'm not sure why but the plot seems so average to me, even with this uniqueness.

The acting was good, though I found No Min Wo to be really odd/alien-looking and I desperately felt the need to cut his fringe off. To be honest it was a bit distracting. I found Yang Jin Sung to be a great actress and this is the first time I really saw her acting.

I'd recommend this drama if you wanted something new and different, its cute, sweet and funny, just be prepared for the lacking story.

It started off slow and honestly I dropped it at first since I wasn't too fond of the teen actors. Originally though they would be the main leads and did not know about the time skip until a friend told me about it. Decided to give it another try and ended up falling in love with it. One of my favorite dramas and really pulled at the heart strings

**Edited review after not really liking the tone of the last one.

I'll start off by saying that I enjoyed this show. I was a little skeptical going into it because I've had my fair share of terrible rom-coms, but decided to give it a chance (for Sang Yoon...what). I was glad that I went into it, because it hooked me really early on. I would be alert for whenever the new episode would be released online so that I could hurry and see the newest plot developments. This is, altogether, a very good show that held itself together in a lot of spots where rom-coms generally lose points for me.

The story itself has been seen once or twice before, although I'm not sure that the other shows handle it quite as well as this one did. There are many problems with Mom going to school, especially under the objections of her husband and son. She hits heaps of problems before even setting foot on campus, let alone afterward. The show does a good job depicting her struggles, not only with school, but with herself and her relationships. This is definitely a strong point to the drama, especially for those of you who enjoy the typical rom-com but wish for something just a little deeper.

In general, the cast chosen did very well. Both the main and supporting actors come across as very real people and they carry their personalities consistently. (And let's be honest, you need a little Lee Sang Yoon to boost everything a bit.) The acting falls short with Min Jae and Na Eun, who, frankly, are the weakest links of the entire show and are the least believable in both character development and chemistry. Luckily, they're fairly minor in the scope of everything else and don't ruin the show for me.

I did enjoy the music and found myself humming along at some points. Like with most other shows, the soundtrack was mixed between cutesy and emotional, and it was pretty typical as far as drama OST goes. Nonetheless, the music went along well with whatever the scene called for.

Rewatch value is quite high. Being that this is a rom-com, it's fairly light-hearted. The pace keeps you interested really well throughout but there's nothing so heavy that would keep you from rewatching it.

Altogether, this was a pleasure to watch. It's a fairly simple show, but not boring in the least and I think it could be fair game to try out for most anyone, especially if you're looking for a cute yet more mature romance.

Have you always been waiting for a drama that actually teaches you something valuable? and makes you think of your own life? and boosts your energy? and has a positive effect on you? Well, this is it.

Story
A perfect combination of reality and life presented in the best manner it could be presented in. The writer managed to keep the story true and realistic with real life issues (based on experience it's all real) and yet kept it fresh and fun to watch. This drama carried out a strong message "it's better late than never" "the present is really a present (gift)". Try to live your life without regrets, live your life first for YOU before anyone else, appreciate the time you have now and live it to the max. This is the 1st drama that made me think of my own life and gave me hope and refreshed my memory with my past life and made me think of my present and future. This drama has boosted my energy and gave me positive insight even with all the issues that were discussed in the drama there is always bright side to everything. For once no villains no insane characters.

Acting
The whole cast were so true and natural to their characters but Choi Ji Woo and Lee Sang Yoon are the show's strongest point!! They had an amazing on screen chemistry they seemed so true so real and so adorable. They managed to present such normal average characters and bring them out into life in a very delightful manner (and people say it's the character that makes the actor) that's not true at all even with such plain characters those two have managed to show us how wonderful of actors they are.

Rewatch?
Definitely YES I would rewatch it over and over again because I need something as positive as this to boost my energy and remind me that it really is never too late.

Overall
Are you a drama lover? This drama fits everyone's taste because it's a slice of life and yet it has everything that we as drama fans love and would wanna watch. If I could I would personally go and thank everyone who helped making it.

I don't usually write reviews for dramas but this ones an exception. So bear with me. I guess I'll talk about the pros and cons.

Pros:

Message: the message is done very well. Basically the message is that specifically korean society is too corrupt and money hungry but I think this can apply to all. It is done very masterfully. It's done in a satirical way. So keep in mind that it is SUPPOSED to be ridiculous. It's supposed to make you think "is our society this ridiculous?" Also another constant message was "be kind and have courage" I know I stole that from the recent Cinderella movie. But if you watch this kdrama, you'll notice problems don't get solved until you are kind and take action. You need both. It's really beautiful to see. But you have to watch for it. It's done subtly.
Acting: The acting was very good. Personally I love Yoo Jung and was excited to watch her. And may I add that I'm officially addicted to ji soo??? He's on my list of must see (and that's not a big list).
Characters: The characters all needed to grow. It was pretty amazing to see them grow and mature. It's one of those dramas where you think "maybe, just maybe there is hope in the world". Personally I love it when I get that feeling. My favorite characters would be Kang Ja, Bok Dong, and Noah. Also they really grown on you. I was in love with Bok Dong by the end of the drama! Sooooo cute!!! I love him, he's actually the reason why I had to marathon this drama. He was ruining my productivity. He was always on my mind.

Cons:
OST: seriously??? The songs were annoying and catchy (not in a good way). Sometimes they didn't even make sense. Like super intense scene and then they play "sunny side up" there's nothing sunny going on!!! But I did like crying, they did that one beautifully.
Acting: Though I liked the majority of the actors (Kang Ja, Ah Ran, Bok Dong, Sang Tae all did great) but Noah...was like a sore thumb...He always looked like a lost puppy. But to his credit, he did amazing scenes with Bok Dong.
Character developement: It was a little bit uneven. In my opinion they spent too much time on Kang Ja and should have spent more time on the kids (specifically Sang Tae, who got pretty much no time until the last 3 episodes)

Overall: This drama was really good and had a really good message. I found it really interesting. By that I mean it did a really good job of highlighting flaws in society. I loved the characters even the ones I started out hating. (I didn't really like Kang Ja and Noah...but then they ended up on my favorite list...) I would definitely rewatch it again. And my I say one last thing: Bok Dong is amazing!!!! He just really grows on you (give it time though!!!)

Marriage, Not Dating had a very different style from the dramas I usually watch. But I can see why it's been considered to be one of the best dramas of 2014.

One of the most unique things in this drama was the episode format. I found that starting each episode with the end of the episode, kept me wondering what the heck was going on and made me want to keep watching. Plus, since it was out of context, what we were shown at the beginning of episodes always ended up being way funnier than it first appeared to be.

I loved the comedy in this show. Everything was just so wacky! The drama was never too serious. But it definitely wasn't all fun and games. There were some parts of this show that actually made me tear up (I have a soft spot for child/parent relationships). I appreciated how the tone of the show stayed consistent all the way to the end. It was a nice balance of humor, cuteness, and seriousness.

This is probably the first drama I've watched where I liked both of the leads' moms! I thought that the show focused on the parents' relationships just as much as it focused on the main characters. I loved how all of the characters were given dimension and we were able to see the reasoning behind the actions that were taken (like Gi Tae's mom).

While I didn't love the 2nd leads (both male and female), I didn't hate them. There were parts where I really appreciated some of the things they did, but there were other parts where I just wanted them to disappear. I really loved the other side characters. Especially Hoon Dong, who I wasn't expecting to like as much as I did. He was definitely a comedic relief character and he did his job well. I don't think there was a single scene with him that didn't make me laugh.

Marriage, Not Dating didn't have what I'd call one of those amazingly perfect soundtracks. But the music was really catchy and I enjoyed it!

Overall, this was a really fun drama to watch and I'd definitely recommend it to someone who wants to watch a drama with a slightly different style that what you'd usually see.

To be honest I am so disappointed with this drama. I wanted to watch it for so long, it wasn't available on viki for my country and finally I found it on other source and... what a bummer.

The idea of bringing up single motherhood in Korea into spot light was good. But it's nowhere near as bad in reality (I live in Korea). Like believe me there are no ridiculous ajummas who force their (adult, employed) daughters into abortion or stoning of single mothers for choosing not to marry, like just ...no ... stahp. The show was so ridiculous that it was unbelievable and impossible to relate to which broke the purpose. And because it was so exaggerated it felt like the makers couldn't decide whether they want to make you laugh hysterically ad Jo Eun Cha or next moment throw up with disgust from the attitude towards pregnant Cha Ki Yong like I dunno, I had too many moments when I would just turn episode off cuz I needed a break from it.

I started to watch this drama solely because of No Min Woo and his character was so inconsistent and bad that made me kind of turn away from actor which is totally unfair since it's probably how character was written and is not his fault. Also I must note that acting in general was quite suck'ish especially in the first episodes, it got better when the whole drama thing started but first few episodes the story with pregnancy and everything just felt so rushed and out of place I dunno, son. Jo Eun Cha was probably best played character in the end.

OST.... omg.... very limited. A lot of times there was no music where there probably should've been one (to distract from awkward acting) and not even one song was pretty or memorable.
The general feeling of this drama was like watching old like 2005-2008 kind of dramas which are definitely not my taste (Full House.... ugh...)

Also what's up with the name? How is that related to the plot?

All in all I feel like maybe Just maybe if the same concept was pitched at KBS or MBC this could've turned out well and I read many positive reviews about it so maybe just I'm too critical. But for me not even 6. Hopefully next time I'll watch something starring No Min Woo, I won;t be left with bad after-taste.

I just re-watched this series and after a second viewing I can say Second Love is my number one 'adult drama guilty pleasure'!
If you're in the mood for drama and romance then that's great because that's all you get! There's no mystery, or action, or anything like that. It's just two people quickly falling in love and then finding it hard to stick together due to outsiders and their own different ideals.

Now for the long explanation!
It's got a bit of a trashy-romance-novel vibe about it but in a totally good way. It's storyline is not very realistic so it plays out like a fantasy of a 30+ year old woman rather than a serious take on relationships. I think this is part of the reason why it's got so much re-watch value. It's short, very easy to plough through for a second time and to just not pay attention to the so-so story but then look up when Kame is taking his shirt off (I’m sorry/not-sorry). Even though I say that you'll still have a knot in your throat at moments.

I was surprised to see comments saying the sex scenes were bad! I don't think they are bad at all. They're certainly more... modest than your western dramas (no bare butts, no *cough* thrusting) just passionate kissing, semi-naked cuddling, and post sex spooning - which I guess must be risqué for a show aimed at Japanese women! The acting is very well done and, though Kame is a little too short and muscular to be a dancer, and Fukada is far too beautiful and alluring to be that innocent, I think they fit their characters well and look really good together.

To be honest it was quite fun to see Kame acting in a role where he isn't so sweet, perfect, and adorable. This role felt pretty different to other characters he plays. Even though he is playing a good-looking and hard-working boyfriend which pretty standard when it comes to Kame, however, Kei is not nearly as sweet, caring, and innocent as his pervious characters. Kei is single minded, has a much more natural appearance (as aposed to Kame's idol look), and less traditional with relationships - not interested in marriage or children. Kame's dancing is amazing (I have a dancing background) and for those saying he has a stunt double doing all his difficult moves should remember that he is a Johnny's idol and started his career as a backing dancer. He is perfectly capable of doing flips, one handed cartwheels, and things like that.

The music was a bit of a low point for me. None of the music itself was bad but I felt that it often was misplaced. As a KAT-TUN fan it hurts me to say this but KISS KISS KISS does not fit this drama at all. The song is far too bombastic and is used in scenes which really needed something much more subdued. It really took me out of some scenes and ruined really good moments. However the rest of the music in Second Love is great and fits the drama perfectly.

Overall I gave this drama a 8 which for some might seem a little high. However I truly enjoyed this drama. Yes the plot is pretty unbelievable and some side characters (though well acted) I found distracting and annoying, but it was fun, sexy, and I could 100% re-watch this again. I would defiantly recommend it but don't go in with high expectations - go in to have a bit of fun!
