The Plot/Setting:
Honestly, I love how the movie began with a montage of happy moments of Tung and Ying's relationship and yet quickly moved on to the main conflict of the story: Ying left Tung through a post-it note that says "I'm off to cram school." I love how that started off because it didn't have to go through a lot of nonsense scenes and just already started off with the story's conflict and well, let the story develop from there. Like I said earlier, there's nothing grand with the movie's plot. In fact, it's a simple love story. The partner left the other partner and then we'll witness how the one who got left behind handles this. And because of that simple story, I think the movie is able to tug at heartstrings of film watchers like me who have a certain weakness of simple concepts of plots like this yet presentation wise is able to stretch the film to greater heights.
I love the setting of the movie. It gave that typical "Taipei" feel even if I haven't been to Taipei. Anyway, the setting of the movie is in the famous "cram school" area. And the film is really able to give of that feel. I love how the connections of characters intertwine in the movie. Watching this movie gives the audience a sense of lightness because it doesn't dwell too heavily on the problems, it's not too edgy to begin with. It doesn't drag your dramatic emotions down because it does have that twinge of sadness yet balances it well with the positive aura and comedic elements of the film. I guess being a student and the rise of cram school (or called tutorial centers here) popularity kind of makes me relate to the story. And that's the thing, the story is relatable because it's about MOVING ON. I think the pacing was good and it was able to build on and explore the relationship and experiences of the character.
The Characters/Acting:
I really really love Kai Ko's performance in You're the Apple of My Eye and I loved him more because of When a Wolf Falls in Love with a Sheep. I think Kai Ko as an actor gives the audience a lighthearted feel because of his jolly and fun nature not only because of his character but as an actor as well. I think that he's always able to portray a frustrated character fairly well and develop throughout the story. As for his character, Tung I really really love how he grows and matures and thinks outside of the box in the movie. I like how how he finally overcame the departure of Ying in his life. His job, a photocopy/delivery guy also symbolizes the fact that he gives back items to the people who left them to remind them of their past highlights how we should move on but we also shouldn't abandon our past because we wouldn't be the person we are today because of it. Man-shu's acting is also great, she knows how to act like an awkward character and yet doesn't fail to shine as well. I think that the simplicity of her character also allows her to develop more in the story. Other secondary characters were also given a fair share of their own spotlight.
The Romance:
If there's one thing to say about the romance it, it's not heavy. Actually, it's more of the getting-to-know-you stage of a love story rather than the getting-into-a-relationship love story. We have two people who are brought together because of being left by their previous partners and we see how they both handle the things differently. There's nothing grand about their love story and that's why I like about it. Kai Ko and Man-shu's chemistry is really seen in the screen and their interactions are both fun and serious, not to mention their damn metaphors of paper planes and counting 1-100 or those drawings of a sheep and a wolf.
The Cinematography:
I think that the cinematography is beautiful. I love the combinations of time-warped-slow motions and animations that blend in well with the atmosphere of the film. I love the vibrancy of the colors, it's not too strong it gives a sense of lightness and thus, doesn't make the film look heavy. It's a relaxing sight to see. I think that the scene where students fly the paper planes was really beautiful and I love how it was shot. I love how there was really emphasis on important objects and how the film was able to combine close-ups and long shots together and make it blend well.
The Theme/Message:
Move on. That's the film's central message. You see, Tung is so busy looking for Ying that he didn't realize what he's actually looking for is just Yang. The film tries to show us not to be too caught up in the past, yet we have to keep moving forward and along the way we'll meet someone new. The idea of flight, of freedom and of moving on with the metaphors of the paper planes, the counting of 1-100, the memories of the items that people left behind all highlight this fact.
The Final Verdict:
Overall speaking, When a Wolf Falls in Love with a Sheep is a lighthearted romance with beautiful cinematography and simple plot. Yet it able to deliver a definite message, there's a variety of fun characters and it's a relaxing watch on a raining afternoon combined with coffee.

You Are the Apple of My Eye is one of those movies. See, I've always been a big fan of Asian dramas and have watched a couple of Asian films that are surprisingly good. I had the same expectations for this movie and it did not fail me.
I love the simplicity of the plot. Sure, high school romance. But the big big big surprise is really the ending. I love how it was pulled out, totally unexpected and will really make a mark in your heart. Totally not wishy-washy. I love how the time span of the movie extends from teenage years to adulthood, you can see the friendship, the dreams and heartbreak develop throughout the film.
I definitely loved the characters. Though childish at times, they actually each have such unique personalities. I love the acting of the actors especially the main character, Ko-Teng. I think he played off the bad-boy-childish-character fairly well enough.
I love the chemistry between Ko-Teng and Shen Chia-Yi. I love the sweet, bubbly and childish nature of this romance. I found out that this was actually based on a book and the author directed it and was his directorial debut, honestly speaking, not bad for a debut movie. And since he wrote the book, I bet he can really make the movie work as well.
Despite some childish elements (which may only appeal to young viewers at young at hearts) I think that the lesson of the movie is fairly clear. There's a lot of OMG revelations, symbolism and foreshadowing (YES!) that I actually missed while watching.
This is indeed a fun and cliche (but also full of surprises) movie that I think is suitable for viewers of all ages. I think that it's time to also give credit to foreign films and probably even time to make their mark in the film industry.

Not giving too much story-telling here so I'll just say that I grew up with Hana Yori Dango (Inoue's hit-TV series that shot her to fame).
The plot of The Snow White Murder Case is pretty straightforward. There's a crime. Of course what's next is to find the suspect. But what SWMC does differently is instead of trying to pinpoint who the suspect is, we already have one. Miki Shirono played by Inoue. What's left is to identify whether Shirono is really guilty or not. By all means, it seems that all clues lead back to her.
The film features several other characters, Noriko Miki, the one who was murdered, Yuji Akahosi, a reporter trying to solve the case for his 'big break' and at the same time, tweeting updates (which is not allowed in his job), Satoshi Shinoyama and Eimi Mitsushima, both Miki and Shirono's co-workers.
I think that Shirono's character is the one most explored and that's effective given that she is the suspect, in a way, it made her character richer and someone the viewer can sympathize with rather than hate. But that's not to say that the accounts of the other characters are not in vain because they are the pieces of the puzzle that make the story more structured and strong. The flashbacks are great additions to make everything tighter.
There is great storytelling here. The testimonials of the different characters, from co-workers, to the head, to Shirono's neighbour and primary/secondary classmates makes it all the more compelling. Why? Because as a viewer, you need to follow these testimonials to build and finally see the bigger picture. Then you judge. Are all the testimonials true? How can you judge if one is lying or not? That itself is enough to make you focused and think, it's not entertainment but it's also about you as a viewer being involved in the process.
Maybe I'm a little biased when it comes to Inoue but she is definitely one of the greatest actresses of her generation. I have seen her play a tomboy-ish, loud, fierce and strong character in Hana Yori Dango. I have seen her as a girl madly in love in I Give My First Love to You. And here, her performance is superb. The purity, innocence and plain Jane parts of her character here were delivered well. Everyone is full of angst and jealousy and such yet she is the only one full of pain and showing that as an actress makes her the central focus.
Nanao as Noriko Miki is also great. She is able to become flexible with her character, sometimes nice, sometimes not. And it's that type of acting where you just become annoy with the character and you know it's effective because the acting is good enough to make you annoyed. Go Ayano as the desperate Akahoshi is pretty sympathetic to watch and I think his performance also made them film compelling given his up-to-date tweets.
And those tweets made the film show another side of murder mystery. It's showing how the internet (or technology in general) can either help you or condemn you. There's those detective elements and aspects that reinforces the film's objective, making sure you stay focus on the goal as a viewer much like the character.
Cinematography's good. Perhaps there's a tendency for conversations to be long and making shots last longer. But beautiful setting. Not to mention the beautiful score especially by Serizawa Brothers. I love the connection with Anne of Green Gables and the timeline that the film chooses to go back to and tie the whole thing up.
All in all, it is a murder-mystery but it gives you a different side highlighting to what extent would you actually believe people just to get to the answer? In the end, I don't think it'll give you much of a surprise. But how things came to be perhaps might. You would eventually feel bad for the suspect and hate the victim. This film is all about questioning. But that's not to say it's all just about murder. It is the central focus but it's not too heavy on that, there are instances where scenes are light, funny and even dramatic (especially with regards to Shinora's past and I love that).
Maybe the downs of the film is there are times when it seems to good to be true. Sort of wishy-washy. Like you'd actually start to question if such things are possible in real life. Hypocrisy if you think about it since the film tries to establish the "questioning" part. The goal is there true. But the message the film wants to send needs to be stronger. To me in some way, the Curse aspect seems out of place and is not too in sync with the story line though I understand that some of Inoue's past are needed to make her character stronger. (like the reunion-ish with the childhood friend?) Still, some parts of it are questionable.
Overall, Snow White Murder Case is a compelling mystery-thriller. It gives a different side to the story and has great actors especially Inoue's acting.
"Good things are coming."

STORY
As far as I have watched Korean movies, the story is not cliche. Set in the past, it gives the audience a nostalgic feeling. With a lovable heroine and innocent hero, the story was well balanced. The villain is driven by jealousy which is familiar with Korean audience but the way it was executed was excellent (especially the resolution). Some might not like the ending, but I definitely loved it. With the hero's character overcoming all the struggles just to fulfill his promise, it was superb.
ACTING
I love Song Joong Ki. He gave Chul Soo a color no other actor could give. It's not easy to standout in a film with a very few lines yet he managed to do so. Park Bo Young's acting was heartfelt.
REWATCH VALUE
Definitely must re-watch.

Acting/Cast: Phenomenal acting and great cast. This must have been hard for the children to act out. It takes real skill to portray the emotions in the way these kids did without having actually experiencing such events. They were truly talented. Only thing I'm left wondering is if the people who portrayed the antagonists had to take breaks in between scenes due to the overall stress of the story. This had to have been hard on the actors as well due to the overall story.
Music: I only recall a couple songs being played in the movie, but the instrumentals and music were decent.
Rewatch Value: This was an emotionally hard video to watch, and to many it might be too hard to watch again. But I could see myself watching it again, and possibly trying to get a friend to watch it with me as well.
Overall, this was a great movie, but you better be emotionally prepared for what you're about to see. If you're expecting an ending where justice is served in full, you'll be very disappointed. I highly recommend this film to someone who wants their hearts to be truly touched and for someone who wants to see the darker realities that exist in today's world. To me, this is a must-see. In fact, I think this could have easily been drawn out to be turned into a minidrama series.

I was actually more or less okay with gore because it wasn't that much, but it was very bloody, which doesn't bother me. What bothered me was the story. Honestly, I just didn't know what the movie was trying to tell me, or if it was trying to say anything, and I still don't. With that said, there is a lot to say about the gripping directing, keeping me all the way to the end while I knew early on that the story wasn't for me. Talking about directing, we need to mention the pacing, the colours used, and the music, coming together in perfect harmony with the world we are being led to.
The movie starts at a slow pace, and the pace gets picked up a little at a time, until the second half when things started happening at a much faster rate. We start in an apparent peaceful setting, where the danger starts creeping onto you without noticing. The colour used were pretty depressing, highlighting an apparent mundane life. That is until the bloody red colour starts taking over and making everything more lively, secret start getting revealed, and death everywhere. All this while listening to placed The Ballad of Mack the Knife. The lyrics were so the appropriate and the music so engrossing I felt I was being brainwashed. It really sets the tone of the scene.
Last but CERTAINLY not least, the acting. Of course the most prominent role here is that of Ito Hideaki. Lets just say I will NEVER be able to look at him the same way again. He had this detached feeling to him, no matter how nice he was and how much I wanted to trust him at the beginning. The way he's unflinched by anything at all was the scariest of all. Other then him, there were a number of adult actors but they weren't outstanding. The outstanding ones were the students. Each of them was distinguishable to say the least. Oh but I hated the white guy in the show. I don't maybe because his lines here so cheesy? Well he did look creepy but many times he felt out of place.
Do I recommend this movie? I'm still not sure, all I can say is, while watching it, the feeling of hopelessness kept growing more and more, that anyone can put an end to this hell.

Usually with movies, there are clear events escalating to a climax and falling down into a natural end. It hits you, "Oh. The movie's over."
Either it delivered or it did not. With 'Shindo', I was jolted from the movie by the black screen because I was waiting for something more because the story did not feel complete. This, though, doesn't mean it was an awful movie or something I did not enjoy. I simply found 'Shindo' an oddball.
At the beginning, we're introduced to a middle-schooler who dislikes playing the piano but is attracted to the sound of it playing one day as she's walking down her neighborhood. It turns out the one playing the bad tune (according to her) is Wao Kikuna, who's practicing for his music school audition. A very strange friendship(?) begins from that day when she gives him some tips to improve his playing.
Now you'd think there's plot right there, right? The audition would be the perfect climax, albeit cliche. But it's still off the mark because the audition is never the central story. Uta comes over at random times and spends time in Wao's room while he plays or does nothing. There's a bond between the two, something that's not quite friendship but not yet love, age gap notwithstanding. Uta is the classical prodigy while Wao's the traditional hard-worker who lacks that touch of talent but is willing to make up for it with effort. Uta seemed to inspire Wao and add that something more to his piano playing, and Uta enjoyed his "sucky" playing.
There were also characters that seemed like potential love interests for the two but the story never went there. There's Uta's father's story, which was never explained properly. Uta seemed to have something going on with her ear, but we never get to know if it's merely psychological or physical.
With these missing elements, you end up with a story that never truly goes somewhere and many unspoken and nameless things that leave interpretation up for grabs.
Having said all of this, I do not regret watching this movie. I'm less frustrated than confused. All the same, I liked the calm and quiet atmosphere it had and enjoyed the undefined relationship between Uta and Wao. Though it's frustrating, maybe things are better left unsaid.

I loved the cowboy feel to the show; the characters were dressed like wild, wild west characters, and the shootouts were classing western-style. It's kind of like Korea's take on an old comedy/angsty western. I also liked how the character were related, and it had some great comedic moments. The great chase was pretty funny, and the Good and Weird pulled off some touching moments.
Honestly, most of my problem was the plotline flaws. For one thing, the violence and gore was a little more pronounced than I tend to prefer. I'm not terribly fond of that much torture and gratuitous evilness. Let's just say the Bad is really, really, really BAD. It's actually a bit more gruesome than I've come to expect from Korean works, and I've watched A LOT of mysteries and crime shows.
Then there were all the plot holes. Korean dramas have a tendency to just drop storylines without explanation, and this movie had a bunch of them. What happened to Weird's friend? Why did he do what he did to the Bad guy? Did he change his personality? What was that story?!? Why does the Good hold such a grudge? Why don't they understand the treasure when they find it? Why is the Bad so Bad? Was he always that Bad? How did he meet his boss/father figure? What happened to the treasure? Who survived? What happened to the military? Did they help the Independence movement? It was all just a giant confusing mess, especially towards the end.
There also were a bunch of little annoyances to me, for example the inability of the bad guys to shoot anyone. I mean, most shows have bad guys with horrible aim, but considering the number of bad guys firing at the same person, this was just annoying.
I'll give them one thing, the ending as pretty much a complete shock. So not what I was expecting! Overall, I'd say the plotline was weak, the film was well made, and the actors are pretty good. Would I recommend it to you? - Meh. It's not going to be an epic, but it's good if you have some guys around who don't want sappy romance. Personally, the only thing it had going for me was the hotness factor and a few random bursts of comedy.

The Movie critic in me says "It really wasn't very good."
The BL fangirl (by association, I also react similarly to Girl x Girl) in me says "Yay."
The defender of LGBT rights in me, says "It's important."
So which is it? Maybe all above.
The storyline is thin - pretty nonexistent - and the movie flows on a casual feeling, completely character driven. Just that the characters are equally thin and don't push the story forward at all...
They're both cute and endearing, but have no depth, no defining qualities, nothing much.
Pie is stuck up, childish and homophobic. Kim is dorky, meek and a pushover. That's about it.
When they get friendlier with eachother and lose those initial traits, you're left with... kind of nothing.
It feels like the movie is made for the sake of making a movie about two girls that fall in love.
Which, from cinematic POV, is pretty lame. But seen to the message, it IS important.
Even though the topic of social stigma is approached in a very naïve and simplistic way, it's still an issue which needs to be adressed and get attention. Very few stories are told about girls who love girls.
So, in that way, it is an important movie. I think it's able to reach a younger audience very well.
The cast and their actin,g was really bleak. No one shone, although Sucharat Manaying as Pie, made the best performance. Her acting was okay. Tina Jittaleela was totally forgettable and made no impression whatsoever.
It's a sweet little story but it's really grossly overrated - 8,1 is far too high a rating.
I gave it 5,5 - i.e. a little bit better than average.
Nothing memorable, but is well worth seeing once. I won't watch it again though.

This movie struck me emotionally so it's a little difficult to look at it as a whole and weigh its cons and pros. It's one of those movies that touch your heart and resonate with you that you just tell your brain to shut up when it brings up things you didn't like about it.It's like the plot was a mere ornament for the heart of this movie: the story of a woman trapped in a man's body. No matter how you change the setting and characters, the story is the same, and that universality is the best thing about 'Man on High Heels'.
Cha Seung-won, Cha Seung-won. Oh, man. This was not my first time seeing him pull a great performance, but I find myself struggling for words to describe what he did with a hit-or-miss role like playing Ji-wook. Perhaps another actor would not have managed the subtlety and nuance of a 'manly' man with an inner woman, or given the character the perfect shade of a vulnerable and feminine aura. No matter what you think about transgender people, you would just be pulled in to sympathize and feel for Ji-wook's deep-set longing. By the movie's end, I fully bought Cha Seung-won's character and believed the conflict of what he is vs. what he wants to be.
The directing and camera work was spot-on and handled with finesse, and it makes sense since the director wrote the script and channeled his vision. I loved the parts unspoken in a scene, when the camera would show us instead. I can't really recall the music but I think it was mostly instrumental and most scenes were big on natural sounds.
Lastly, I'm going to avoid talking about the ending because it would definitely include spoilers but I just want to say that it made sense since the whole movie was leading up to this. Not that I'm happy, but I'm at peace with it.
Warning: Right. Just be aware that there are lots of violent scenes that veered a little on gore at times. I cringed so much but I'm just averse to seeing blood and stabbings on screen.

I always appreciate a unique plot; after a while if you've seen one Kdrama you start to feel like you've seen them all. And while this one has the old "the nobles are evil and a heroes needs to defend the poor," much of the story is pretty darn unique or at least uncommon.
Of course, I just loved the chemistry between the two male stars - they bounced off of one another spectacularly. The straight man kept throwing off oddly perfect comedic moves, and the funny man would have strokes of gentle sincerity that worked perfectly. It helped that I loved the entire rest of the cast as well. They characters, their personalities, the collection - it all just worked for me. I usually have at least one character that I'm less fond of, but here I really loved them all.
I also appreciate (as I've said many times before) the fact that the romance wasn't the ENTIRE story here. It was a side story that flowed perfectly into the rest of the film and only added to the comedy and action instead of detracting from it. It wasn't something that sprung upon our heroes at first sight either, there was at least a little foundation for the romance making the story require less of a "leave your brain at the door" feel.
My only complaint would be that it seemed to start off a little slow - it started pretty heavy on the angst, and I was worried it wouldn't be as funny as I hoped. But later it picked up and moved on into the more fun part, so if you think it doesn't look that good just give it at least 30 minutes.
I loved this film, my friends loved this film, and it's one of the few movies I would consider pulling out in a party of mixed genders. It had something for boys and girls, and is a great group watch!

It's a story that you are certain on how it would end. One could only hope for something special that makes it different from others, but I found none. In short, it's predictable and ordinary. Everything felt rushed and there were a lot of things happening, but it still can bore those who are seeking for thrilling or heart-moving films. Moreover, there was something in the ending part that isn't logical to happen. (You'll see when you watch it.)
This movie sells itself as a romance film, but the romance itself isn't good. It doesn't warm the heart of a viewer. (Or is it just me?) There is too little interaction between the main characters to explain how they fell for each other.
Fukushi Shota is clearly an eye candy, but his acting is lacking. It didn't feel like he's a guy in love. Kawaguchi Haruna looked awkward all throughout the film. I'm not sure if the problem lies in the writing or the way they were directed or their acting skills themselves, but I agree with what others say: they have no chemistry. Even when a lot of things happened already, they still looked like they just met the other day.
If there were characters I at the very least liked, they were Kenji and Aiko and Masashi. They had their screen time, but even those were only brief moments. The rest of the cast were fine.
The music isn't overly done and is pleasant to hear.
I'd rather watch other films in my plan-to-watch list or re-watch better films than watch this again.
I daresay you watch this just when you have a lot of time to waste or you might mourn over the time you could have spent watching better films or an episode or two of a drama series.

I was expecting a movie that would perhaps be more reflective or insightful about what allowed the researcher to deceive Korea and the rest of the world for so many years, but I guess the focus of the movie was really on the whistleblower himself, and his internal struggles with revealing the truth.
Park Hae Il impressed me with his doggedly determined character. I myself watched it for Yoo Yeon Seok, but I wasn't that impressed by him either, regardless of the fact that he was a secondary character to Park Hae Il's PD character.
On the whole, it is an exciting thriller but I was disappointed by it.
