I saw some trailers and i felt that this was something different and mysterious.
The beginning was good and captivating but when the whole story was almost done they just kept trying to add this and that.
Overall was a pleasant drama and the most awesome thing was the villain, omg the actor was freaking amazing passing the image of a psychopath, i was so surprised and shocked...Lee Joon was brilliant and give the right feelings to this criminal history.

Was one of the best dramas i ever seen!
The drama had everything...the right chemistry, the right vibe, the right theme, the right history...everything was so perfect, even the "new" actors did it brilliant!
I just loved everything about this drama because it was so fresh, the history and the theme was different and creative! Was really amazing and at some point i was just wishing that this could be a "real" band and history, you really can get related with the history and the characters.
You really should watch it!

The story is a little bit different with Nodame Cantabile. And maybe cause its Korean drama that the story is much slower than Nodame. The main cast is amazing but maybe you’ll find some annoying supporting cast, I found some of them.
Because I don’t really understand music, so yeah it’s OK.
Want to rewatch it? Just rewatch Nodame cantabile then.

I have never seen Shim Eun Kyeong in anything else, but I couldn't picture anyone better for this role. She was totally adorable as quirky, naive and genious Na Il. I know not everyone is a Joo won fan, but I love him. He has played a variety of roles and doesn't disappoint as Yoo Jin. It seemed real as he fumbled around learning to have friends and care for people. The other actors are good also. Go Gyeong Pyo is good as Il Rak.
The music is outstanding. It is worth watching this drama for that alone.
I will probably rewatch this at some point.
No matter what genre you enjoy, I recommend this drama. It is a comfortable and easy watch.

So I'll give my review based on what made me love this drama:
1. Story. It's very sweet and kind of sad too. As so many other drama's storylines to come, there is a love triangle, in this case with five people involved though and each relationship between the characters is special in it's own way. The characters have their own story which tell you the reason behind their actions. Furthermore there's so much beyond romance. It's about striving to achieve your dream, meeting or countering other's expectations, follow your heart or doing what is expected of you.
2. Casting. Among one of the most professional castings in any drama series. Only the names say a lot: Angela Zhang, Wallace Huo, Penny Lin! They simply are the role they are acting.
3. Music. Basically the whole series is about music; searching for the voice that can reach people's heart, achieving the music dream. This is behind the scenes of the music industry. The music is perfectly fitted to the story, from opening, each scene to the ending.
4. Rewatch value. I've stopped counting how many times I've re-watched this drama. Even directly after watch it the first time, I was eager to watch it again, and not only some scenes, it's the whole story. It gives one hope, encourage you not to stop hopping for your dream to come true as long as you try your best, it applies to true love and career.
I didn't expect I would write so much but I simply have a lot of reasons to put down, recommending you to watch this drama! Enjoy!

What really brings this drama down is the following: The Lee Sung Hoon storyline, it honestly serves no purpose to the overall plot other than to give him a character twist. The dislikeability of Director Oh, he was a character that really needed more fleshing out so we could understand him it was very hard to see his motives to anything despite knowing he was meant to have them. The stupid scenes where in the middle of the operation they engage in long stare-offs and don't seem to mind the open heart surgery going on beneath them. The immortal survival rate of a good portion of the cast, I'm putting this down to drama-land though.
What makes it good? Everything else. The rest is all golden. But if you do pick it up, just keep in mind that the amazing high the first two episodes start off with isn't what you get for the rest of the series.

This story is pretty good till the first 8 or 9 episodes. From then on it is a downward spiral. It has its moments though and the romance is lovely. At times this drama gave me a headache but it was a headache that I enjoyed lol. There is something addictive about melodramas and this is a similar case. There are all sorts of cliches possible used in this drama. This story has no depth and its characters are just meh. It is just one of those dramas where you can watch for the main leads in case you enjoy romance. The characters aren't that great and neither is the plot. Analyzing the plot will only make you hate the drama.
It was such a massive hit in those times and now I can see why. It has some amazing moments and has that pull factor which would make you want to turn on your TV screen every week. Like the other Endless Love series, this is also one which you can finish only after skipping a LOT. It gets hell repetitive in the second half and most of the episodes are just filler (like most dramas those days).
I love the music in it and the soundtrack is beautiful. Another reason to watch the drama would be the cinematography. If there were better HD cameras back then, it would be a feast for the eyes (much like Love Rain). I see a pattern in the way the writer writes her stories. It had a lot of moments which were reminiscent of Love Rain.
This drama is a mindless angst-fest. If you enjoy angst, watch this. Or if like me- you want to see what the hype was about you can check this out. This sadly leaves no room for rewatching but I am still glad I watched this drama.
I wanted to dock off a point for its ending but I can't rate it any lower. I hate the ending. It's probably one of the worst endings ever but overall I just can't hate this drama nor can I give it any lesser than 8. It wouldn't be fair since since I enjoyed a lot of its makjang moments.

Acting/Cast: Great. Amazing. I've got nothing to say when these character were slowly became the biggest point of how this drama could be so great even though i don't expected this drama to came out this good. Joo-won was great as always, and Shim Eun-kyung was amazing to have made her 'own' Nodame without trying to be the j-drama Nodame though she unconciously did that on few first episodes. Il-rak was just likeable character, while i don't expect Yoon-hoo to be a lovely character towards the finale. Everybody has done a great job on potraying their character.
Music: Definitely great. No comment for this because i just LOVED all of the songs. Including the OSTs!I've been listening 'Listen To My Heart' by Melody Day for weeks, and has never got bored of it.
Rewatch Value: It was cute and lovely. I'll rewatch this when i have times, although i really don't rewatch the completed dramas that i've watched.
Overall: 8.5/10
It was an unexpected good drama, and one of dramas that i won't forget 'cause of the feelings that it gives to me.
[SORRY FOR BAD GRAMMAR :)]

The story is set in 1997, and the detail about what happened in that time is well made.
The story will make us wondering what really happen in the future of the lead, how will it really end? Who will finally with the female lead? So if your curiosity level is high probably you’ll probably finish this drama in a day. Not like me, because I’ve to wait per episode until it ends, T___T
And if the story is great, the next part for it to be a good drama is the cast....
Well I think it was the first time Jung Eunji became a lead character, and who cast her maybe a genius or just lucky. She really fit the character craziness really well. And with Seo Inguk as male character, it just perfect match!!
Another character is really good; I really like it when I realize that Eun Ji Won is actually a real idol which was really famous at that time.
Do you want a romantic comedy drama that worth your time?
Do you want to laugh out loud in the middle of the night while watching a drama?
Do you want to watch a romantic Comedy but not too cringe?
Then Reply 1997 is the best choice.

Why did I watch it? Because after I watched Legal High, I began to like Masato Sakai, so I try it. And after one episode, I just love it.
Why do I love it? Because when I watched it I can’t skip it (I usually skip the part I don’t like), and I can’t skip it cause it’s too good to be skip. (The script writer must be a genius)
The story is kind a serious one, it’s about Hanzawa Naoki, an employee of a bank. He is a good brilliant employee but when someone wants to shift blame to him. He simply cannot forgive everybody that involve in it. And the brilliant story begins.
The cast is just amazing!!! And Masato Sakai is maybe born to be an actor, he just awesome.
And what’s the best is the story. You’ll really love Hanzawa Naoki although he’s a serious character, and his wife is funny, so the characters are well written.
If you want a well made Japanese drama, bored with romantic comedy and want something worth your time THAN you must watch Hanzawa Naoki.
And you’ll not be disappointed.

When I was writing this review, I considered my review of the original Nodame Cantabile and my knowledge of the manga. For the original Nodame, I gave the story and overall score as 9/10. It was entertaining and stuck to the overall feel of the manga as intended by its original author. For this Korean version, I scored it slightly lower 8.5/10 because I felt that the the expansion of the stories of side-characters have reduced the impact somewhat for the storyline of the main couple, their victories and failures. The story of Nodame is special because of this unique and comical interaction and relationship between a handsome, straight-laced, no-nonsense genius conductor with a quirky, messy and 'autistic' young lady who happens to be a genius at the piano. It is also a celebration of the grandeur and beauty of classical music. Somehow, the Korean version did not make my heart race when it comes to the classical music parts as the original Japanese version did. Perhaps, it all comes down to selection of pieces and the situations they were played - it is my opinion that they could have gone with better coordination of the music to produce a better wow! and inspirational effect. In fact, there are parts when the orchestra was playing and the music was cut short, diverted or tapered off (especially when it is near its crescendo)- a no-no for me for a classical music-themed drama.
Despite its weaknesses, this Korean version has its strengths as it has a more well rounded overall story. It's just a pity that the role of Nodame was muted to some point where the Korean Nodame could be deemed as quite a normal young lady with a good understanding of how to function in a normal society (eg: except for the first time, there were no indication that she continued to keep a messy room, she was able to keep a proper job, she behaved like a normal person in a relationship etc). I feel that Nodame (as the title suggests) should be the shining character and at par in relevance with the character of Chiaki. This however, was sacrificed for the more rounded overall story.
Acting/Cast: Joo Won did a great job as Yoo-Jin (Chiaki's character) but he was definitely less resistant towards Nae-Il (Nodame's character). In fact, half way through the drama, he knew he was in love with Nae-Il, simply hid the fact whereas with Chiaki, he did not realise it until towards the end when Nodame left him. Even then, Chiaki had trouble accepting that he actually likes Nodame.
As for Nae-Il's character, played by Eun-Kyung, is definitely hands down, a less impressive and less stand-out character compared with the Japanese Nodame played by Ueno Juri. So far, Ueno Juri tops the Nodame character hands down. Nae-Il is a much watered down Nodame character to the point that she is actually quite normal - which in turn, took away the uniqueness of Nodame's 'autistic genius' character.
The rest of the cast did well. Special mention for Go Kyung-Pyu as Il-Rak. He has an energetic and endearing acting style in this drama. A total likeable character and definitely an experienced actor. I'll be keeping an eye out for him.
Music: I love all of the classical pieces in this drama as I did for Nodame Cantabile. My only complain was the poorer music coordination for the scenes and how certain pieces were cut short and fell flat before its climax.
Rewatch value: Personally, Nodame Cantabile was a much easier re-watch drama because it is more entertaining (as it follows the manga with its exaggerated facial expressions), has fantastic classical musics at the right time and mood and it is shorter in duration. It would be quite tiresome for me to re-watch this Korean version as I would have to know exactly which 'draggy' scenes (the ones involving the side stories of others and talking) to fast forward to get to the interesting parts. Therefore, I will not be in a hurry to be re-watching this anytime soon.
Overall: Considering its strengths and weaknesses, I gave it an overall 8.5/10. This version is certainly a different product that the Japanese Nodame Cantabile and should be watched as such. I made comparisons to the original above so that those of you who had not watched the Japanese version will know exactly where it differs. Rest assured I had evaluated this drama as a stand alone and an entirely different product. It is a good enough drama that it is not a waste of time to watch but it is not a wow! drama.

Also , for the record, it's been a while since I've seen this drama.
Anyway.
I was prepared to like this drama. I really, honestly was. But for me it missed the mark - by several miles .
First off, Yang Xue Wu is the biggest Mary Sue I’ve seen in drama (any drama) so far. She has absolutely zero flaws and needs constant rescuing from Lan Ling Wang. For all her skill with fireworks and healing she can’t even save herself ? Sorry if I find that to be a little unbelievable. No, scratch that. It’s totally unbelievable .
The costume design was amazing , but that's unfortunately the only redeeming thing for me. Special effects were rarely well-executed, instead looking obviously out of place in this historical fantasy setting.
Pretty much every other female character was either eeeeeeeevil or disappeared quickly, save for Yuwen Yong's niece who I didn't really see a whole lot. The other female characters only served to enhance Xue Wu's already ridiculous Mary Sue - ness.
I hope by now you know I absolutely hate Mary Sue type characters.I know it's never the fault of the actresses playing them, but just lazy writing. Really, what is so difficult about writing a complex main character who actually has to work for what they want?
The ending theme was repeated way too much throughout pretty much every episode . Sometimes it's just fine to let a dramatic moment speak for itself but no, every single one of them is "emphasised" by repeating the theme over and over again.
What I hated the most was that everything seemed to revolve around the idea of 'Xue Wu gets in trouble , Lan Ling Wang rescues her' . The rest of the plot is secondary to that .
Lastly, what's up with that ending ? After 46 episodes you just want to have a happily ever after for the main characters , but clearly the writer(s) had other ideas.

This is the only KDrama that I have watched the entire series at least 4 times, True Story. And would watch again if I can learn to stomach his selfish co-workers, but no, I cant forgive them. The story so sweet that I'm crying as I'm writing this review, *I need a tissue.*
This is the drama to watch if you are looking for a simple love story that is not based on "star-cross lovers", or pre-destined love or fate; but a love that forms from the realistic development of feelings and affection, combined with a character so unreal that he challenges you to examine yourself. With familiar classic components of a romantic KDrama, that thankfully did not overshadowed or ruined the performance delivered by a great actor.
I, 100% recommend this to anyone.

Recommended :
- IF you like to see dramas where there are many couples and you see how they end up together.
- IF you care more about drama and romance instead of an interesting story.
- IF you are not bothered by low budgets.
- IF you want to watch a drama with many different age groups in it.
- IF you haven't tired of people "accidentally" falling on top of others...
Story:
Glorious days is very similar to other family dramas I've seen. The story is okay, but it repeats many themes you've already seen before if you have watched family dramas. They could've done so much more. The worst part of the storyline is that it is VERY predictable. As I said before, if you like predictable and cliché things you will enjoy this drama greatly. It caters you with lots of cheesy romance and it will tell you the story of multiple different couples of different ages and situations.
Acting/cast:
The cast was okay, but there were a few weak links that make the drama feel a bit flat and forced. I also had trouble relating and caring about some of the characters. This might be the writer's fault, but an actor should be able to make you care about their character even when the character is flawed in many ways. The cast also suffered from typecasting issues - you had too many actors you've already seen so many times portraying the EXACT same character.
Music:
The music was absolutely awful at some points. They even had a song that was almost ripped straight from the Super Mario soundtrack. There was no uniting theme to the music styles used and I don't remember hearing a single song with lyrics in it. All-in-all it seemed to be very low budget.
Rewatch Value:
I can't see myself ever watching this drama again. There were no super dramatic or super romantic scenes I would want to go back for.
Overall:
I was quite disappointed with this drama. A lot of people said it was good, but for me I was cringing throughout the series at the story and acting. I wanted to enjoy it, but there were a few characters that made it almost unbearable to watch. It's difficult to watch a family drama if you like some characters and hate others, because everyone gets their share of screen time. Another thing that added to the suffering was the stereotypical and really conservative story and characters. I feel that this drama was probably designed for Korean ahjummas who have very old fashioned values.
If you like dramas like this please instead of this one watch: Ojakgyo brothers or King's family. They are a lot better in so many ways.
