I haven't seen the Japanese original/version yet, but...
Seeing the reviews and rating I wasn't expecting much when I started watching, but it surprised me. It wasn't super intense or serious in either the plot or the romance, but it was very fun and relaxing to watch. Definitely one to watch if you want a relaxing, care-free night, with a couple of laughs. Although there were some holes that could have been fixed or patches that could have been sown together better, the story was really enjoyable. It's definitely worth watching!
The actors were amazing especially the main male lead. It takes a while to get used to the main female lead's character, but I personally think the actress did a good job playing the role. The side characters are cute and adorable, and are as important to the story as the leads. (Also they're all really attractively cute~~~)
The music was amazing. (but I mean hey what do you expect, it's a drama about music). The only complaint I can think would be said about the music is the fact that it's classical. And although, I enjoy my rock, pop, and alternative, but, honestly, classical is just downright beautiful. Especially when they connect the emotion and backstory to the songs, it makes listening to the instruments a million times more enjoyable.
I would definitely re-watch this drama (which I probably will with my mother anyway). In fact I think I'm going to go check out the Japanese version/original, even though it's said to be a bit different, I'm curious (and I already miss the music).
Overall, even though there were missing pieces here and there, and there were parts that should/could have been polished, the end product was calming, cute, and very fun to watch.
Worth 16 hours.

I had no expectations whatsoever when watching this drama, except that it was going to be good. People raved about it on the Internet. I did not read the manga or watch the other adaptations so I really did not know what I was getting myself into.
First of all, story is super cliche. Seen the characters before, didn't really care for them. Not really likable to me. Main guy is just quiet and emotionless. He's smart, but extremely boring. Who would fall for him?! Main girl is not much better. She's got a better personality but is dumb and SUPER persistent. She doesn't know when to quit. What she's doing in the drama is called STALKING. It's not love or infatuation anymore, it's obsession. The idea that a dumb girl can win over a smart guy by stalking him is just appalling. REALLY?!?? So unbelievable and unrealistic. I forced myself to watch all of the episodes even though by halfway, I wanted to quit so much. I'm definitely not watching the special or the second season.
The only thing I liked about this drama was the views of Tokyo. Very pretty scenes and shots but that's it.

A relationship doomed to fail (in real life)
After trying to find a japanese romance drama to watch, someone mentioned this on an online forum and I was interested. They said that the relationship between the leads was interesting so I thought I'd give t a shot.Japan does not do well in the romance genre. There may be hints, some sweet lines, some holding hands and kissing but that's it. Very lackluster.
With the main couple, it was just very hard to care for them and their relationship. I disliked Hyuga Toru for the majority of the drama, because he was an arrogant jerk. Only until he started realizing that he liked Natsui Makoto and accepted that did he become better (just by a little bit). There were lots of fighting and misunderstandings between them. I understand why that would happen but it just happens so often it gets to be annoying. Their relationship felt forced to me. Any sane girl would not fall in love with a guy like that (someone who disrespects her often).
It was made to look like she was just following him around and obeying his commands. I understand she works for him but it continues after work hours. He's just controlling. I didn't have a problem with the actors, just the characters.
The story was more focused the business side of things. I didn't understand a lot of things they were talking about because it was computer/IT related terminology. The romance was really just a side story.
I'm glad they made Asahina Yoko to be a likable character. In the beginning her tactics may be shady in getting Toru to fall in love with her. But she turned out to be a nice character. When she realized that Toru didn't like her and it was useless, she 100% supported Makoto. She never did anything insane and didn't try to cause misunderstanding between the leads (maybe except for that one car ride, all the other incidents were just happened to be seen by Makoto). She's probably the most reasonable, and also my favorite character.
I won't rewatch this. The special wasn't great either. It was like the storyline repeating itself for a reason I don't understand. But alas, they have their happy ending... Or so it seems....

Before I begin this review let me let you know that I've watched all the liar games and I've read the manga aswell. So a bit of this review is based off of the original.Story------
While this wasn't the word to word the original story of liar game it was still quite good. The set designs, the character history, the twists, the manipulation, and the lies were scripted very well. And it flowed quite well. One thing that bothered me is what most pervious watchers of liar game will agree with, (**SPOILER**) is that the main character looses a match and struggles sometimes. Where in the original this wasn't the case...ever. Thats why it was so good. (END SPOILER) So this is definitely a good story.
Acting/Cast --------
Marvelous, Great, Outstanding. I was blown away. This is so well done, the cast is just right. Love it. Can't say any more than that.
Music ----------
I'm in love with the OST. That says enough.
Over all i give this an 8/10.

First of all, why did they choose to call the drama "Apple in Your Eye"? I find that ridiculous because the Chinese title translated to English is "Little Sister". I don't understand why they made the change, since the themes of the drama would still work well with "Little Sister".I actually liked the plot. I haven't watch too much Taiwanese dramas because most of the plots have become too similar. They seem to enjoy the corny plots the most, as I keep seeing them. The main girl was kinda whiny throughout the whole drama, but I did enjoy it, despite its many corny moments.
I disliked the ending due to some spoilery plot reasons I cannot mention in this review. It affected my feelings toward the drama as a whole, but overall, this drama was one of the better Taiwanese ones.

One thing they kept too cute was the relationship between the main characters. They could have provided a bit more mature development there. This is one area that made me love the anime. There were a few spots that didn't connect the story well for me and this is why I'm not going to rate it as high.
Overall, the talent of the cast is indisputable. I wanted to see them play more. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mambo performance and hearing the Vivaldi score throughout. (I'm biased, I love Vivaldi)
I recommend you watch this when you want something lighthearted and entertaining to watch. And it's a quick watch...you want to see what happens next.
Till next...drama

Similaresque to RH+, this is primarily a bromance drama, centered entirely on boys. In fact, the only women in the story at all are their mother and two spooky twin girls who come bearing deadly jellybeans (yes, you heard that right). While I love a good romance, bromances have always had a special place in my heart and they are shockingly hard to come by. This one is perfect, beautiful, sweet, and with all the touching "group hug"/"protective!older brother scenes a girl could hope for. Seriously, this is maybe even better than RH+ for brotherly scenes, and I thought RH+ was awesome.
The basic plot itself is a bit trite, carrying on the overdone theme of bad guys think Japan is overrun with worthless losers. Consequently they have decided that the world should be remade in their image. The story throws in a neat little twist though with how the bad guys decide to RESOLVE their little problem. Instead of killing off the losers, they are killing off the ones they want to save. Let's just say you'll have to see it to get the idea -- telling any more would blow the story. There are a few plot holes left unresolved at the end (such as who the two little girls were and how Yuuki was chosen for the program), but it more or less was finished at the end. I would have watched a lot more had they chosen to develop it, but I wasn't left feeling completely unsatisfied.
The acting is pretty good, and certainly on the medium to good end of Japanese stories. This surprised me a bit because I thought the story was probably low-budget. Not because of its quality but because these kinds of stories aren't usually the movie-of-the-year ones. But they managed to pull off pretty good technical settings and hired semi-good actors. In fact, the main characters were excellent, it was just the 2ndary people that sometimes dropped the ball. All in all, I was happy with the casting and filming.
Definitely a re-watch (I've already done so twice with my favorite parts). It's a little more thought-provoking than RH+, but still a pretty fast watch. All together the show is only about 4.5 hours, and that moves pretty quickly. Honestly, it ends at horrible cliff hangers usually, which kept me coming back for more so I watched it straight through. This isn't light and fluffy, but it has it's moments. Kind of a show for a dark rainy night when you are by yourself and just want something a little scary and a little warm and snuggly all at the same time.

Since it's 'cosmetology high', naturally the dramas' creativity revolves around it and morals are told along with it too. It's like a magic drama series, but the magic is quite unique. Its bitterness and tragedies would make you tear up, if you are lucky enough to have continued the series. Morals about beauty and ugliness are present in it, and it's so unpredictable that you would find yourself caught off guard many times. It has fanservice too, it's of such a high quality that people view it as a serious, big budget historical drama.
None of its jokes are cheap, and it's actually more like a melodrama than a romantic comedy. 90 percent of the humor comes only from the main leads' conversations; humour and serious scenes are very balanced. This is a fresh, unique show that I highly recommend.
