I wrote this review while watching (and immediately finishing) the series so it's a little detailed (no spoilers though, I promise) and a little lengthy, too. Plus, I seriously seriously SERIOUSLY loved the NY special so I'm overloaded with feels right now.

Just like how everybody else who have watched the series said, the title has absolutely nothing to do with the whole story, and thank God for that.

"Money is more important; we'll do any job for it... But we won't sell our soul."
To lay the plot out in a non-spoiler way, Rich Man, Poor Woman's (I am terribly uncomfortable whenever I'd mention the title) central theme is ambitions. It's what puts everything together. How, on the one hand, ambitions combined with pureness and sincerity could "change the world" and serve as an inspiration to others, while on the other hand, when combined with greed, could be self-destructive. Ambition is a seed that grows along with the intentions of the sower. It could flourish and feed the good, pure-hearted sower and propagate the dream, or it could grow into a poisonous plant and kill the evil, greedy planter. But in the end, no matter how evil, the purest heart pollenates and prevails. Story revolves around Hyuga Toru who, as the story has drawn, would somehow be an IT superstar, a little like Steve Jobs.

This drama is definitely, DEFINITELY, one of my favorites. I just love eeeeeverything about this drama. It made me feel all kinds of emotions, which is my favorite thing about dramas. The reason why I only gave it a 9.5 is that I tend to reserve the perfect 10.0 to life-changing existential dramas (which I associate highly with melodramas like Boku no Ita Jikan). But overall, Rich Man, Poor Woman is indeed a good product of its genre (career focused, romance) and it has its way of sprinkling viewers with the morals it would like to covey. It is indeed in my Top 5 all-time favorite dramas in my 9 years of being a drama fanatic. So I highly recommend this to everyone.

As I've said, I love everything about this drama but let me highlight what I loved about the series:

1. IT FELT HUMAN. This was the best and refreshing aspect of the story. Given the plot and the background of the characters, the show had an excuse to be extra flashy with a company president as the male lead and several other characters as rich and privileged people but I was absolutely pleased with how they kept everything believably modest. There was small emphasis on materialism and more on character depth so I got more interested in character development and less on the drama technicals, which was a good thing. Which leads me to the next thing I love about the drama.

2. CONSISTENCY. Dramas focused on character growth tend to have inconsistent characters, and rather than having a story about them, they become mere plot devices which makes things boringly predictable. This drama though, had well-thought of characters and their consistency made the character growth more relatable and heart-warming, and the story was a lot easier to follow. It's quite hard to explain, but the story unraveled on its own with the characters being themselves rather than the characters being merely tailored for what the writer intended the story to be. There were times where the story was a little bit predictable, but in a good way. This is because you already know the characters and not because you had the whole story figured out (I hope it makes sense).

3. ROMANCE. I don't jump into drama OTPs so easily but oddly enough and contrary to some other reviews here, the romantic storyline was definitely my most favorite part. It was what got me watching everything in one go. Probably, the fact that I loved the main leads' characters was a factor. Watching the trailer, I thought they didn't have the chemistry to keep the romantic storyline going but as I watched, I found their scenes cute and adorable. I might be a little biased, but I could say I was pleased with the romance. It is common knowledge in drama fandom that jdramas aren't the best players in the romance genre. Maybe because the romance is usually kept low-key and subtle, giving more spotlight to character growth. Personally, though, I found pleasure watching the little sweet things. I found it more realistically appealing for a company president to focus more on his work where several jobs and lives are at stake than to waste his time solving his own love life's problems. Most fangirls wouldn't agree (coz duh, love should be a man's topmost priority) and several years ago, I would have been severely pissed with a guy holding back because of his work obsession. But having watched plenty of dramas, plus aging lol, I grew out of love for the lovesick male leads and had an inclination towards practical guys who looked much more dependable. And this drama nailed it for me. Surely, Hyuga-san is a rude temperamental jerk I'd want to kick in the ass but I still understood why the heroine fell for him and why she decided to stay in love with him. And more than being a side story, work storyline had EVERYTHING to do with the romantic storyline so I believe the story was able to maintain cohesion of both sides which created the larger picture, which again proves its consistency.

5. OGURI SHUN. As if I hadn't said it enough, Shun was one of the best parts of the drama. Aside from his romantic side, I also liked how he suited his character so much. His rough untamed manly appearance went well the the eccentricity of his character. Plus, Hyuga Toru's business presentations gave the Steve Jobs feels and I find myself in awe that sometimes I have to remind myself that Hyuga Toru is a fictional character. "He's Oguri Shun, he's Oguri Shun!!"I had to remind myself several times. Plus, his teary-eyed, "I-am-deeply-touched-but-no-I'm-not-crying-I'm-a-big-boy-now" expression is just priceless. It kills me. Every. Freaking. Time. Don't get me wrong, I don't find Shun stunningly handsome (my favorite ikemen is, and will always and forever be, Miura Haruma) so I'm not one of the fangirls who follow him blindedly just because I think he looks good. But there's something about how he carries the role that I find endearing and this is where my Shun fondness roots from.

6. SATOMI ISHIHARA. I'm definitely fan now. To be honest, I thought her character was going to be annoying but I found her really cute, and Satomi Ishihara carries her role so well. She and Shun looked so natural with their roles. I haven't seen other works of Ishihara so I don't know if this is her signature image but I am extremely satisfied with her acting. Actually, everyone in the cast was a perfect fit.

7. COMPREHENSIBLE. If you're not the techie type and you dread jargons, you don't have to forego watching this drama just because it is set in an IT workplace. Although it involves a lot of workplace scenes, they focus more on the incidents that create ideas rather than the creation of the system itself so no technicality involved aside from the usual business talks we get to see in the usual dramas (stocks, shareholders, investments, etc.). If I may compare, it's like those American TV series, House or Suits for example (though a lot less complicated), where even though you don't really understand the technicalities, you still understand and have a full grasp of what's happening.

MUSIC
They had one song playing almost all the time and I barely noticed the usual instrumental sound effects but I honestly didn't care. The story was engaging by itself so the little support it got from the music department was surprisingly enough.

Having loved it this much, I'm pretty sure I'll watch it again some time in the future.

Ups for this drama:
really funny
female lead is pretty
male lead is cute
the rest of the cast are great
the story itself is funny as in REALLY funny

downs:
the throwbacks are out of order. The throwback should be after the present to have emphasis and a better understanding for the sake of the viewers.
Also, there is a part of the story which has a big impact on the roles of the leads but was unable to explain. I believe its because they find it a little sensitive to tackle but then again, since you put it there in the story, the writers should ave been prepared in putting emphasis on it.

my verdict:
Must watch. The down side of the story is not big enough to overthrow the humor they put on it so its still really good.

I finished Gap Dong awhile ago, and I'm still in a confusing withdrawal. It says something when I'm still thinking heavily on a drama days later after I've had a chance to watch other things and go about my life. The drama struggle I had with Gap Dong was one of the biggest I've had in recent memory.

The overall story was compelling, unique, and well developed. When I thought I knew what was going on, Gap Dong knocked me flat on my face. That unpredictability is what I crave in a show, thriller or otherwise, and Gap Dong delivered.

Lee Joon was perfect as Ryu Tae Oh. He was sadistic, as any good serial killer should be, but he was more than that. There was a depth of character beyond your normal villain, and he continued to grow and develop throughout the show. I especially loved the moments when his face would take on a childlike quality. Not all that intimidating by itself, but when he adds a murderous gleam in his eyes and a big grin, it's SCARY. I'm still getting chills just thinking about it.

On the other hand, though, I maintained a lack of sympathy for all the other characters. Maybe that's harsh, but it was an intense struggle. I love smart characters that make decisions heavily based in logic and fact, especially when it comes to thrillers and mysteries (like Ha Woo Jin in Liar Game or Sherlock in BBC's Sherlock). It seemed to me that everyone was operating on half a brain. Maybe that was intentional (how is he going to kill people if they are smart enough to catch him?). I don't know. Regardless of what the writer's intentions were, I had a very rough time.

Bottom line - If you are looking for an excellent villain story with lots of twists and turns, watch Gap Dong. I will echo what many others have said: Lee Joon is outstanding. But if you despise characters who make stupid decisions and come to illogical conclusions because of their emotions or personal biases, you might struggle just like I did.

I really loved this drama, however it left me with a bitter after taste. Which is why I only could rate it this high. Keep in mind that I have also watched the first season, which I loved.

The story and the characters are quite similar to Let's Eat season 1. The story is simply about the everyday life of Dae Young, his crush and his neighbours. Each character has a distinctive persona and they all have a certain relationship with eachother, which makes it fun to watch. I really love the concept and like how real (most of) the story line is. However I felt a lot of things were lacking, but they are all very personal and many will disagree.

First of all, I mainly watch this because of all the delicious foods. This season there seemed to be less eating and they didn't seem to enjoy the food as much as season. Secondly I really disliked the role of the female lead, I have nothing against the actress herself though. It's just that her character is demonstrating such an unhealthy lifestyle with all the extreme diets (and obsessive behaviour, but that I can ignore). I hoped that she'd learn to deal with it in the middle of the story or that the other characters would help her more with this, but they all seem to accept it. I feel like this especially is a big problem in Korea and could influence people the wrong way. And lastly the biggest flaw to me was how they didn't continue the story of the supporting roles much. I loved where the story was going, introducing different problems for each character. But in the end the story only focussed on the romance between the main characters, leaving some other characters hanging. For example Teak Soo. The guy is basically miserable throughout the whole drama and they only focus on his bad behaviours, whilst nobody is really helping him. This could have been more, hence the low rating for story.

Nonetheless, I do not regret watching this at all. And if there's going to be another season, I'll definitely watch it too.

Ex-Girlfriend Club is a very refreshing drama. The drama does a great job focusing on the development between characters, whilst incorporating common problems in life. (Meaning no overly manipulative stepmothers, sudden life threathening diseases and so on.)

The story and characters were just great! The story is a simple love story and even whilst dealing with many hardships it never becomes heavy, because of the many jokes, catchy songs and most of all the fun characters. It's amazing how well the characters are written. Each of them have a distinct personality and are portrayed perfectly by the actors. It seriously never happened to me before that I fell in love with all of the characters in a drama.

So why the mediocre rating? The last couple of episodes disappointed me a bit, mainly the male lead. His acting was still good, but to me the writers changed his personality too much. it's hard to say exactly how, but he became less loveable to me. The thing that bugged me the most was how he became overly jealous, which is something especially he cannot afford.

Since the drama is only 12 episodes (cut short, unfortunately), I'd still recommend this to anyone. You can watch it in between home work, after a heavy tear jerker, or whenever you want really! It'll definately bring an instant smile to your face.

Good Doctor has a great premise but some episodes felt like the writer didn't know what to put in between so there were totally unnecessary fillers that shouldn't have been approved.

They should have kept this series short if they can't justify those 20+ episodes. No wonder Blood was a disaster. Park Jaebum has an eye for writing interesting concepts but the overall execution of it? Fails to meet expectations.

The acting, from Joo Won's permanently hunched back and fidgeting fingers to Moon Chae Won's drunken antics, are really beyond what this drama deserves. The only thing that kept this series together was the cast.

Music isn't memorable enough to comment on so I'll give it a random three for effort.

Rewatched value? What indeed. Except for Si On's hilarious trivia and dialouge, there wasn't much I would want to see again.

Overall, it was a nice distraction to my boring internet free day.

I mainly only started watching Producer because of all the hype that was going in to it because of the very amazing cast that was IU, Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun and Gong Hyo Jin. I'd only watched Soo Hyun's previous work of My Love From The Stars, but he was amazing in that so I knew he would be able to pull off an entirely new sort of character. Besides a few low points, I really enjoyed this drama, and I'm one of those people that were glad it changed from a mockumentary to a romcom.

The story of Producer was something very new and original, and it showed a lot of potential. However, it did start off very slow. And to be honest, I don't know why they even used to story of Seung Chan's one-sided love for Ji Yeon. It wasn't even necessary to the plot of the drama. But once the latter half of the drama started, it got really good. I enjoyed Seung Chan's developing love for Ye Jin (although, I'm glad the Umbrella couple seemed like the winning couple near the end), and all the elements of producing. I really liked when we saw scenes focusing on Music Bank, like when Seung Chan and Cindy were going up in the lift together. It was so cute. I also loved the small love story between Hong Sun and Yang Mi, it was so funny to watch. Anyway, despite the slowness at the beginning, it was a really great story.

There was nothing to complain in the acting department. They were all great. To start off with, I'll talk about the main cast. Cha Tae Hyun was absolutely hilarious with his character of PD Ra Joon Mo, and he showed a very realistic side of a producer. Focusing a lot of his time of 2D1N, mouthing off at the rookie and showing genuine concern for those he cares about, like Ye Jin, Yuna and Cindy. Next off, Gong Hyo Jin was a lovely actress and she perceived her character of PD Tak Ye Jin very well. Although, the density of her character did annoy me, it was because of how the writers made Ye Jin, not how Hyo Jin acted her out. She did a lovely performance. Now, Kim Soo Hyun. His character of PD Baek Seung Chan was something completely different to his previous work of Do Min Joon, and yet, he was great at it. I also loved how he immersed himself in the character, as shown in interviews in Entertainment Weekly. Lastly, IU. I absolutely loved her character of Cindy, and she was so enjoyable to watch. I loved her slow but sure love development for PD Umbrella (aka Seung Chan). I just wish she got more screen time as I believe she got the least amount out the whole main cast. All of the supporting cast were brilliant as well, and Na Young Hee did another excellent job of making me annoyed at her character. My only problem was the girl who played Ji Ni (aka the next Cindy; Cindy No.2). Her acting wasn't the greatest, and was slightly stiff.

The music for this drama was also lovely, and I loved IU's single of 'Heart'. Although I'm not 100% sure that song was for the Producer drama (as I know it was also featured in We Got Married), it was released at the same time as the drama was still airing, so I'm just going to count it. However, besides IU's track, none of the other tracks were very memorable and didn't stand out well.

As much as I have enjoyed this drama massively, the only time I would re-watch this again is when I'm really bored. I have many other dramas I wish to focus on, and I also have to get through my last few weeks of school before I start thinking of re-watching another drama.

Overall, despite one acting choice, a slow start at the beginning of the drama and not very memorable tracks, this drama is very much worth watching and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in a good romantic comedy.

Two words to describe this drama: completely unsatisfying. Let me give you two more: too short.

First of all, this drama had the workings to be something really great. It wasn't terrible, wasn't even bad, it's just I expected so much more from The Producers and it didn't deliver at all, but it could of and that's what kills me!

Majority of viewers hated the first two eps, but I absolutely loved them! I didn't love Kim Soo Hyun's character (Baek Seung Chan) as much as I did in the first two eps. He is completely lovable and adorable, and I honestly just wanted to jump into the drama and give him a big hug. But as the episodes progressed, little by little my love for him slowly started to dwindle, that eventually I just found him annoying (still cute but I didn't care about giving him hugs).

I loved every moment highlighting the PD's struggles, and I didn't think there were enough of them. I also really enjoyed Cindy's character arc and anything that had to do with her. I loved her storyline, and it was my favorite part about the last ep.

Where this drama went wrong is that it felt rushed. The last episode was completely rushed. Come on now, this is a kdrama, why was it only 12 eps. I'm left feeling so unsatisfied because there was so much more to the story. Yeah, Cindy's stuff was concluded, but what about everything else? I would have loved to see more about the struggles for female PD's, I would have loved loved loved it if they fleshed out and built a strong solid friendship between the four mains. I would have loved even more if Baek Seung Chan and Ra Joon Mo became best friends. I would have really appreciated it if they fleshed out Ra Joon Mo's character more, period, because I really loved him omg. I feel like there wasn't even enough of Ra Joon Mo and Tak Ye Jin scenes.

If this drama had delved more into the lives of PD's and worked on building friendships and establishing relationships instead of wasting all their time on a romance no one even really took seriously, then it would have been tremendously better. I think with 16 episodes this drama could have been perfect. But eh, what do i know.

The cast was honestly the best aspect of this drama. I couldn't have asked for better casting myself. I fell in love with these characters and I cared about them, which is why I'm so disappointed because I wanted and expected so much more. But listen, all my complaining shouldn't stop anyone from watching this drama. I still enjoyed The Producers, it was really fun and entertaining. Is it a must-see? Eeehhhhhh, i don't know about that. Depends, do u love the actors in this? For example, Kim Soo Hyun? Then yes, I'd say get your butt in gear and watch it. But honestly, this drama is just one to help u pass the time. It isn't thought provoking, and definitely not a 10. It could have been, but it's not. So it just is what it is. And nothings wrong with that. Now, would I watch it again? Well, maybe if I was bored, yeah sure. But considering how I just finished it, I don't think I'll be doing a rewatch any time soon.

The story had a good beginning but it all went downhill from then on. It was interesting enough with a more original plot than most other dramas. Unfortunately, it was not used to its full potential. At some parts, the story made no sense. The characters... Oh, the characters. We have the scriptwriters tirelessly reusing the same plot device over and over again, and at some points, I felt so frustrated because damn it, why do the main characters keep falling for the same thing over and over again?! In my opinion, the show dragged on way too long. They should have just cut it off earlier, kept it short and sweet, then perhaps I wouldn't have found it as burdensome to finish the drama. Sad to say, it was with a sigh of relief that I finally finished the last episode.

It was apparent that Woo Hyun and Sung Yeol were a little lacking in experience as their acting was a little dull and stiff but it was palatable. On the other hand, I think Kim Sae Ron did really well. :) You can hardly tell that she is 14?! I was so shocked when I found out her real age, for such a young actor, she portrayed her character well.

The music is meh. Not good, not bad.

I highly doubt I will rewatch this again unless I am in the mood to torture myself slowly with boredom.

The story was relatively cliche for the most part, but that's not to say the show wasn't enjoyable :) From the very start, you could already tell how the story was going to end.

The acting was good enough for me. It wasn't spectacular, but it isn't horrific. In other words, I suppose it was mediocore. The main character is the typical not-your-typical-pretty-girl character. Throughout the show, we are treated to her less than palatable habits and see her unflattering side numerous times. If that is not your taste, and you like to pretend that your main characters are fairy princesses who have no need for the toilet, then I suggest you run for the hills and never look back.

The music is forgettable enough for me to be unable to recall any of the OST even though I have just finished it recently. But it served its purpose well.

I certainly won't be rewatching this again. There aren't any scenes that are particularly impressionable and left me pinned to my seat; my time would be better spent hunting for new dramas to watch haha.

It was a fun ride for the most part. It isn't a show that will have you clamoring for more, leaving you with a strange emptiness when you finish. But it is still a good watch and I will recommend this if you are looking for some time to kill.

The story was alright, but what I really liked about this drama was its cast. I absolutely loved the two lead ones, because their chemistry was sizzling and they were really mature in they way they approached their roles. As a result, I didn't even notice the age gap, though it was a considerable one. I really enjoyed this. Fun and fluffy drama, watch it! :)

Well, I'm writing with my tears still wet but with a big smile :-)
Not a bittersweet drama neither a tragedy.
Maybe one will say it's like Padam Padam but I think it's more deeper and touching.
Really this drama has a great lesson you can come up from it.
Anyway, let's start rating this drama as my usual way :-

PROS:
1-It has a very meaningful story.
2-The acting is superior and outstanding
3-Nothing is wasted in this drama like embedding fillers.
4-The romance element really is perfectly was embedded with the main story.
5-First time I cared about the story more than the romance elements.

CONS:
1-He dies
2-There's something haven't been clarified yet like his mother 'what happened with her'

I recommend you to watch it even if you are afraid of getting sad don't worry, he will be funny enough to cheer you ;)

Thanks for reading :D

If I had to describe Just You with only one word, it would be "warm".
This drama is a ball of fluffy nonsense. Far from flawless, it still manages to grow on you nonetheless and to leave you in a cheerful mood.

Story-wise, it is pretty simple and consistent, so don't expect any major plot twist. The story is centered around the main couple's relationship and their loved-ones. That's it. A no-brainer (except of course if you take into account the "angsty" moments of this drama that are quite far-stretched to say the least).

As for the acting, yes it was over-the-top (especially with Liang Liang, the female lead, her friend Princess, and Dean) but since it fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the drama, somehow you end up getting used to it (and even enjoying it). Also can we talk about how great the chemistry between the leads was?!

The soundtrack of Just You is my favorite thing right now, tho it's rather a question of taste. My only complaint is that during some scenes of the drama, the songs played didn't always fit the mood.

Overall, it's a light romantic comedy, which is full of crazy and fluffy. It might not end up in your Top 5 Dramas but it will certainly find a special place into your heart if you're ready to look past its flaws and extravagance.

This drama might have the same major plot with Queen Inhyun's Man but there's so much different in these two dramas and i really love them both.

The ending so many room for imagination that leaves me dreaming for more happy moments for these two.
The main character, Gong Min (played by Jing Bo Ran) is such a Dreamboat that i for sure would like to change this drama title to "My Dreamy Man From Another Century". He is such a great lover that i hope they show a little bit longer in the ending. The acting by the actress is a bit mediocre but its okay as long as the lead and the supporting actors are good. I cant help to have a crush on Han Yu Fei and Wang Mang eventhough i extremely love Gong Min. Huhu.
And lastly, almost all the scenes that have moments between Gong Min and Xiang Xiang is so sweet and i really love it. I can rewatch this drama again (as i already rewatch QIHM for 3 times already) just for their moments. Hey, i even cried when they broke up. Lol.
