It IS the winsome foursome cast (and characters) that makes this drama. After my disappointment with MLFAS Do Min Joon character, (admittedly he is dreamy) but failed to stretch Kim Soo Hyun's acting prowess. He is simply adorable here as Baek Seung Chan. It is quite similar to his Dream High Sam Dong character, but Kim Soo Hyun managed to incorporate mannerisms that is uniquely Baek Seung Chan. He is the glue that held this drama together.
IU. IU! She really ran away with this one, and the best part of this drama by mile. To think, after the first 2 eps, I was dreading how she will hold up to the 3 other actors, as I was cringing on her apathetic bored scenes. She slowly grew on her character, as her story arc gradually became the most engrossing part of this drama. As opposed to MLFAS Chun Song Yi (who is amazing, btw, don't get me wrong), Cindy didn't need any superhero to keep saving her in times of trouble. I keep waiting for someone to come and save her out of a rut, as kdrama tropes are wont to do, but she didn't need them at all.
Gong Hyo Jin and Cha Tae Hyun. They did get the short end of the stick with their story arcs, esp. Gong Hyo Jin, but it is to the likability of the characters that I was still invested in their friendship story arc by the last episode, and it is rewarding, despite the somewhat rocky path going there.
The villain is great here! MLFAS really failed me with its cartoony villain. By the end, I still didn't understand the killer's motivation. In contrast here, that the situation and motivation is something that is happening right now in our world, and the last scene with the villain is perfectly done.
The weak point of this drama is definitely the love quadrangle which went on and on, one good thing though nobody got malicious, just funny petty jealousy all around. As a fan of k-variety, I also wished for more story on the producer life. It did take a backseat when the love lines got tangled, but it did tie up nicely at the end.
I know the drama did well by me, if after the last scene, I already miss the characters, and didn't want to leave their world.
P.S. Kim Soo Hyun's ng scene of laughing boisterously at Gong Hyo Jin's aegyo drunk act is so funny! Didn't know he can out-laugh Cha Tae Hyun :).

Homem Rico, Mulher Pobre em Nova York

I watched this New York special twice already in less than a week, so the rewatchability is a perfect 10.0 for me.
One of the series' strength was its pace, how it was neither too slow nor too fast. And fortunately, this special wasn't any different. The storyline was simple thus easy to follow, understand, and relate to; but its simplicity didn't make it less exciting and enjoyable.
Honestly, storywise and demand-wise, the series had the potential to have another season. But I guess the last scene in the series kind of restricted them and maybe they also decided to play safe (since we all know sequel series have a bad reputation) so they just went on with a 2-hour special. As a fan, as much as I have wanted to get my hands on that season 2, I'm still contented with this thoroughly enjoyable 2 hours, basking in with the fact that I get to rewatch it whenever I want to because it won't take much of my time.
If the series alone doesn't satisfy viewers with the romance (like what several reviews said, to which I respectfully disagree), this special did a good job focusing on their relationship and giving it a good wrap. It's probably one of the best closures I've seen since it was able to tackle on the important issues they will inevitably encounter as a couple. This is why I thought a season 2 would have been possible storywise.
Even with the trivial inconsistency in the end (hint: the sticker on her face), the bad English pronunciation, the abuse of a single song several times in the series AND in the special, and the obviously low-cost production, I still give it a 10.0 because I hundred percent enjoyed the special and thought it was really good. Objectively, I'd give it a 9.0 but because I'm a biased fan, it's a perfect 10! Loved everything about it (which I wouldn't enumerate anymore since I already mentioned all of them in the review-slash-appreciation-post-lol I did with the series)!

The acting is good. It is the only thing that kept me watching.
The music is ok.
I will never rewatch this.
I only recommend this drama if you like the actors.

Hmmm... How to start this? I had originally planned on starting before it ended airing so i could finish with "everyone else", but Park Min Young and all the spoilers flying around made me hesitate. But I finally got enough courage to watch it and I dramathoned it with all my might. Not because I was hooked and mesmerized but because my "real life" dongsaeng was.
Get your rotten gogumas ready because I think a lot won't like what I have to say. And that's ok.
The show, it was... Ok! I'll blame myself for not enjoying it as much as so many others seemed. I expected way too much from it because of all the praise it was receiving from my eonnis and other members and it didn't meet my expectations. I was even bored halfway through it and started to look for other things to do while "watching". So while my sister was excitedly yelling "DID YOU SEE THAT?" or cooing over the "real couple like acting", I was browsing through GR to see what else I could add to my already bloated reading list. Some might think I got bored because I basically just took breaks to sleep, but I once watched a 108 episode drama (it was only 35 minutes per episode, so it would equal like 54 episodes) in around 5 days and it never bored me.
The OST. It is pretty forgettable. I remember hating the music, but don't remember what it sounded like in the least. I, especially, hated the music choice they used for action scenes, it made those less exciting.
The acting. It was good, really good, for the most part. Park Min Young didn't even bother me... that much. And Ji Chang Wook keeps growing on me. Also, there were so many tearjerking moments in this drama, yet I didn't shed one single tear. It was upsetting to say the least. I'm a crybaby when it comes to dramas, yet... What happened? Good acting and touching moments, but I wasn't moved one bit. Well, that's not true. There was one moment that did shake me up a bit, but I still didn't cry.
The drama wasn't bad. If I hadn't fallen for the, I don't want to call it hype... The excitement most other viewers felt, I would have probably enjoyed it more, or maybe I wouldn't have. I'll never know.
I rated it an 8 because the acting wasn't bad, but I still feel I can go lower.

O Que Está Acontecendo com a Minha Família?

The drama wasn't perfect and there were many loopholes, gaps and unexplained/unfinished situations, many of the characters needed to be bitch slapped and some of the couples had no chemistry at all. BUT it's one of the few family dramas which actually make justice to the theme and that's what I loved about it.
I liked that while maybe it was extended a bit too much, the changes that came to the characters and the unity wasn't sudden. You could actually see the bridges being mended and the relationship between father and children grow in a genuine way. Once I decided to focus on that, everything else became padding.
Note: I don't rewatch long dramas, except for Empress Ki and King's Daughter.

The first 30 or so episodes of the drama were highly enjoyable even if I was constantly irked, annoyed, feeling sudden spurts of anger, and frustrated by the actions taken by the characters. But I still had hope that all the nonsense would end. Oh, useless hope...
I love Huo Wallace and feel he's a great actor. He did indeed act well in this drama, but I ended up hating his character in this soooo much. It made no sense that if he was the swordsman, he had no great show downs which ignited my excitement. And he was kind of the village idiot, if you know what I mean. I also came to think he was a player or a hippy. It seems he had a love all philosophy and he practiced it so much, I had no idea who he really loved.
Even if I felt it had been a waste of my time by the time I had reached episode 42, the drama did have wonderful costumes, music, and Huo Wallace. And overall, the acting was decent. If not, you can bet your life savings I would have dropped it.

Acting/Cast: Perfect 10 for cast and acting. Ji Chang-Wook was the perfect 'Healer'. Although I watched his acting in Empress Ki and Smile Donghae, it is his acting in this drama that drew me in to this young actor. I am expecting great things from him in the future.
Music: The OSTs are good - if you are into ballads. I am surprised that they did not have at least 2 or 3 OSTs in this drama with stronger and faster tempos for the action scenes - again, a big giveaway that this drama is more of a romance drama than action. The action just spice things up a little (though not too much in my opinion).
Rewatch value: This drama is an easy re-watch despite it being a 20 episodes' drama. Each episode is interesting and has its' 'moments'.
Overall: I gave this drama 9.5/10. It is just a touch under perfect but still a very worthy drama! If you haven't watch it, you need to start clearing your schedule for 2-3 days, sit down and just marathon it. Trust me, once you start this, you are hooked!

The story line of this drama isn't something you'd usually find common as it touches on mental illnesses and is based around the hospital, I feel like this drama would be catered towards more mature aged people but i'd really encourage teenagers who might be wanting to understand the concept of mental disorders to watch this. Not only does this drama show the harsh realities of mental illnesses but it really teaches you a few things from the perspective of a psychiatrist and the people who have these illnesses. It's okay its love is a really complex story as all characters have a series of problems which they all kind of twist together, and even though in the end they do not fix all these problems completely i think thats what makes the drama so good and realistic.
The story is great in how they piece everything together and every character developed greatly in some way. Although the story is already interesting enough in the first few episodes the plot really starts to pick up and intensify towards the end as the reveal more and more information, I was constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. I remember crying for 3 episodes straight because i felt such impact and shock from the events during the end.
The cast and acting for this drama were perfect, the main characters were portrayed well but i have to give props to Lee Kwangsoo and Jo In-Sung for playing their characters so well and to be able to play a mentally disordered person so effortlessly. Kyungsoo's acting was not seen as much throughout the series but really did make a huge impact on me (the reason for me 3 episode straight crying) I felt the need to just hold him and feel pit on him all the time, i really liked his character best in IOIL.
For music there were NO faults, this OST was probably the best i've heard so far. The songs really enhanced the whole experience of this drama, I've listened to all the songs on the OST including the pure instrument ones and i enjoyed it through out the series.
As for a re-watch value 10/10. I can't really give it any less considering it's my second time already watching this 16 hour drama already! Even if you do re-watch this drama the feelings will still remain to hit you!
BOTTOM LINE, The story is something that will really make you laugh, cry, be mad and think a lot. The cast for this was picked perfectly along with the music choices i really think the director should be given an award. This review didn't give this my feelings towards this drama justice i really recommend you watch this yourself, you won't regret it. 10/10!
