I watched many k-dramas but this is the only one I actually did recommend couple of my friends to watch it, probably the reason I'm so in love with Pinocchio that it was different, it kept me interested and most important, unlike most dramas, the progress of the story wasn't held until the last episode, and that by any mean didn't affect my enthusiasm for the last episode. the reason I gave the overall rating a 10 because I believe a perfect drama should contain adequate amounts of action, comedy, romance, drama and thrill, not only one genre took over it. I highly recommend anyone reading this to watch it as I enjoyed every second of it.

I love this drama. i love it. 99% of it.
Why you may ask?
First of all, we have kim so hyun. she's an amazing actress, as someone who's like 2 months older than her i feel so untalented. the way she plays eun-bi and eun-byul is completely different! you can tell who she's playing just by looking at her eyes! (though tbh the eyeliner played a big role too XD)
Another actor who did a very good job on his role was sungjae. i hate idol-turned-actors , with a passion. i can't count how many dramas i have dropped because of their terrible acting; but sungjae is different, like he's my favorite character! his smile- Oh God his smile. you'll just find yourself smiling with him.
Jo soo hyang, you can just tell how good at acting she is since everybody hates her in this drama. she almost made me throw my laptop out the window. i just hope she doesn't end up like UEE- everybody calling her a b*tch because of a role she played.
as for nam joo hyuk, he has room for improvement. the reason for the 9.5 for the cast would be him. but he has han yi an's aura so he's okay, i shall let him pass.
the story....hmmm....
it's not really a school series type of drama, they should have got ridden of the school 2015 title, people come watching it expecting something else and ending up dissapointed. but it's a great drama anyway /(^_^)/
the story started out amazingly. the whole mystery, is eunbyul dead or not, what happened to soo in, what's with taekwang's dad, ect. will just suck you in. you'll end up addicted to this drama.
too bad they started focusing on the love triangle and just.... ruined it?
if they continued the way they were doing it in the first half i would have gave the story a 10- but oh well not everything can be perfect :|
Music? definitely a 10. Reset is my favorite OST ever. if you dont watch the drama, you should at least download it's OST; it's so worth it.
the rewatch value is a 1. because first i don't rewatch dramas, out of th 200 or so drama's i have seen ive only rewatched like - 2? , and also because the mystery was a huge help to the drama and i feel like it will lose it's charm while rewatching.
overall i gave the drama a 10. even though the ending wasn't what i wanted i think it still deserves a 10. it was one of the few dramas that i watched till the very last episode while airing (i dropped pinnochio while it was airing, so that should tell you something).
looking for a nice romantic comedy slash mystery? i's say give it a try.

The story is nothing extraordinary- poor girl gets thrown into the rich world, there are the usual villains that are evil just cause, but what I liked about this series is that it gets the "work hard for your dreams" message across in a genuine way. It was also refreshing not to see that much unecessary angst and noble idiocy as it is the case today. Highlight for me, apart from the music where the instrumental themes stand out, was Cha In Pyo as Joon Hee- probably one of the most calming and composured presences I've ever encounted in a drama. That doesn't mean the other two leads are far behind; AJW was a sweetheart with a brilliant, raspy voice and CJS who had to pull off a double role too for a few epis was very good; I was sad to learn of her death.
Generally it has its flaws and a bit of a rushed ending but it's an okay drama that will make you nostalgic for the old times. I'd rec it to people that want a change of pace and want to watch a series without having to think too much except wanting to spit on the villains because holy hell, were they annoying!

Story is the typical girl looks like boy, uses that to "trick" certain people, gets closer to the male lead..the same old stuff back in the last decade. What made this drama different then most was the fact that the lead actor was unaware of her gender and was a poor guy thinking he was confused. That to me, was one of my favorite aspects of this entire drama. This ended up being a romantic comedy without going too overboard on the comedy (in my opinion). The relationships formed naturally on screen between the leads and between all the side characters. There were some slow parts in this drama but for 17 episodes, I thought things moved fairly quickly. This story just has side stories for most of their other characters.
Cast. UGH. I completely forgot how much I loved this cast! Gong Yoo and Eun Hye are seriously a match made in heaven. Their on screen chemistry was simply undeniable. From when they met until the very end, all of their scenes together were pure perfection. Their acting was so perfect it seemed real and I haven't been able to find a Korean drama where two actors grab my attention like these two.
All of the side character actors were just as perfect. The cafe workers (rip Lee Eon), all the family members and others were casted perfectly. Everyone just seemed to mesh extremely well together.
Music, honestly was never a favorite of mine. Though the whole "la la la lala" song would get stuck in my head for days, there was nothing really special about the music used.
As stated, I have rewatched this drama and believe me, in time so will others. It's just that type of drama where you wouldn't mind watching it from beginning to the end again. I always recommend this drama to new drama watchers and I think I always will. It's a feel good drama and it's also up on Netflix for the time being so if you have it, watch it!

Acting: Ariel & Joe were perfect for their roles (10/10). The supporting cast was the reason why I couldn't give it a perfect score.
Music: I loved the music in this series. I downloaded it and listened to it until I got tire of it.
Re-watched Value: I re-watched this series several times already. Part 2 was also good.

The story is pretty awesome. There is a lot of EVERYTHING crammed into Dream High. The writers did a good job of balancing out all of the tropes. Characters that initially come off bad and just seem like another stereotype develop into actual people. Ones that you can go from hating to caring for. Sadly some of the time jumps and developments don't happen realistically together. Though I'm thankful for the development. At times jumps happen . . . but it's soooo sloppy. I will commend Dream High for bringing up the issue of sexism in the music industry, especially in South Korea. It shows some hard truths for women in the industry.
That aside the plot kept me engaged. A roll coaster of emotions! Happiness, joy, sadness, and confusion. My head was spinning.
The cast here is great! For me I started Dream High for Ok Taec Yeon. It was an accident that I watched him in Cinderella's Sister, but a happy one as he was the only thing I truly liked about the drama. Here he showed me again why I love him as an actor. In fact all the actors do a pretty darn good job. When they were allowed to. But it wasn't often. Because my main issue with Dream High is upon this review:
Water works fest!
Holy cow there were so many tears. It actually became painful for me to watch this drama. I had to take a break, despite how badly I wanted to finish it! Many state that Go Hye Mi (Suzy' character) cried a lot. However, EVERYONE cried soooooooooooo much. Heck. I was almost reduced to tears of frustration. As every sad bit, emotional break through, joy, fear--JUST EVERYTHING was represented by a cry fest! I've seen most of these actors outside of Dream High, I know they can act! It's just horrible that Dream High had the most crying I have every seen in a show.
Moving on.
The music is pretty awesome! I loved all of it featured here. Most K-pop fans are going to be super happy recognizing the songs and enjoying how the accompany the drama. At times I found it a bit repetitive with the choices. Which is funny considering this is a music show. IU is especially showcased well. Before I was kind of fan, but now I'm obsessed. (And even the crying couldn't stop me from enjoying her. You bet I'll be checking out her other works.) I enjoyed Suzy's vocals. It was also fun to see Taec Yeon not only wrap and dance, but do a ballad. It was lovely.
Overall Dream High is tons of fun. If you don't like Glee or musicals don't worry, this isn't a musical. It stands on it's own. Sure the story is messy and uses every trope they could think of to toss in. It does have a decent love triangle and I love that it stepped outside of the love triangle "comfort zone". All of the characters become loveable in there own way. It's nice not to see someone slanted as the villain, but that they're all human with their actions. It saddens me that the dramatic single drip crying was so overly used that it actually annoyed me. And to be honest the ending was almost as sloppy as the beginning. Still, Dream High is definitely something any drama fan should check out.

The acting is not superb. As cute and robust the characters are, they tend to be poorly delivered by the actors and actresses playing the parts.
The script is pretty much cliches. Cliches everywhere.
That being said. For some odd reason, I find this drama to be so dang rewatchable. In fact there are times when I just absolutely crave this show. About every two to three months I go to rewatch my favorite parts and actually end up rewatching the entire thing.
The music is fantastic. Some of my favorite songs to date. Seriously. The lyrics are always so true and match up so well with what's going on in the drama itself. Absolute perfection!
And while the acting isn't too terribly great, I find myself enjoying their performances more and more. In fact this show made me such a huge Aaron Yan fan. His music is great and his acting improves a lot throughout this drama.
It is a worth watching drama. You will laugh at the acting, at the jokes, and at yourself for crying throughout the entire show. Trust me, this drama is worth it!

STORYLINE: 7.5/10 - CHARACTERS: 8/10I would have given this drama a higher rating if it weren’t so long.
Poor Ma Fuya constantly manages to find herself in some sort of struggle. The lengths jealous characters try to keep Ma Fuya from gaining power or provide the twists and backstabbing that make this drama worth watching. Despite all, Ma Fuya I bet is comforted by the thought of knowing that she goes through life and even manages to convoy the love/ affection from three future rulers. Introduction of the Princess is a drama that follows the path Ma Fuya finds herself when she seeks to avenge her supposed fallen family. As I watched the last few episodes, I caught myself recalling the innocence and lively persona start this drama gave off. Twists, deaths, betrayal and frowned upon love made the finale that more saddening right until the end. The reintroduction of Ma Fuya’s *cough cough* because they return came with enough darkness to pump up the drama that was starting to drag. They provide the fiery edge of your sit feeling right until the end.
The usage of new characters or giving supporting characters more input of the flow of the drama provides ever addictive twist to the storyline which in turn makes you carry on watching more episodes due to the suspense of the path the drama is taking.
ACTING: 9/10
The main actors and actress Ma Fuya, her love interests, mother-in-law and competition portray their character’s emotions believably. I will be checking out Lin Ruby, Mao Zi Jun, Yang Tony and Huo Wallace’s other productions for they stood out the most for me.
MUSIC: 8/10
The songs used fit within the atmosphere of the drama both instrumentally and lyrically.
LIKED: the wine offering scene (episode 37) was the best from the drama. This is because we are able to see into most of the character’s hearts and motives for the throne and Ma Fuya. Each actors’ captivating actions are so relatable for their character that I could not stop smiling despite the evilness of the scene. AMAZING
DISLIKED: As much I was entertained for most of this drama, 44 episodes still felt longwinded especially after the guy I was rotting for died. SPOILER: Furthermore, the whole killing off literally EVERY character left me feeling as if I should not have wasted all that time.
CONCLUSION:
Well if you enjoy a rollercoaster of PARTNER SWAPPING and BETRAYAL, this drama shall truly keep you entertained. Additionally, you should watch this drama if you enjoy genres such as EXILE – POWER – LOVE – ROYALTY – DEATH – MARRIAGE – WAR – CONCUBINES – FAMILY – VENGENCE - GREAT ACTING – PLOT TWISTS – MEDDLING CHARACTERS – BACKSTABBING – FIRST LOVE – DESIRE – LONGING – UNACQUAINTED LOVE – HOPE – SACRIFICE – POISON – SWORDMANSHIP – REVENGE.
