But his life goes topsy turvy when he meets his new neighbour, 26 year old Yoo Jin and her pet dog Sang Ja, and Doctor Jang Moon Jung, a 40 year old spinster. Unlike Jae Hee, Moon Jung wants to be married but was previously jilted. She is holding out for her ultimate soulmate amid protests from her dear father who wants to marry her off to the next living, breathing man of acceptable scruples and standing.
Jae Hee’s character parallels the Academy award winning role played by Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets. He is frankly quite annoying and unlovable. As the show progresses we get glimpses of his kindness and empathy for his fellow human beings especially towards Moon Jung.
Despite the show’s quirkiness I did enjoy it for what it is, my expectations neither here nor there. The cast is stellar; the ladies especially are all outstanding; the friendship between Moon Jung and Yoo Jin despite the age gap is refreshingly real. Delightfully no evil, OTT antagonist if we exclude the creepy stalker. The meddling mother and father are understated in the realm of kdrama demanding parent trope.
Perhaps it is also a tad unbelievable that three equally successful and beautiful women could fall for an oddity of a character like Jae Hee. His mystic certainly adds to his charm. A twist on the all girls want bad boys trope.
Overall it is a decent show with sprinkles of hilarious moments like Jae Hee's first encounter with Dr. Jang. It lacks the "it" moments (at least for me). If you simply want something to fill the void this may do the trick for rom-com lovers.

The central plot in this show and the plot devices are not unique at all, hence my admission that I only watched it for the actors. Fortunately, I did come to enjoy this show quite a bit.
The lead couple has a really cute romance - I’d put that down to the cast and their chemistry. As the show went on, the male villain became more and more villainous for the sake of it, he just eventually became a non-compelling villain. One of the poorer villains around.
One of the more boring aspects of the how is the corporate hijinks, trickery and plotting. Safe to say this show didn’t handle that plot device very well. During those times I got pretty bored and sometimes found myself using too much brainpower trying to understand what was happening in the company. The initial part of the show is cute, but dangerously goes into classic melo territory in the last 4 episodes or so, filled with unspoken misunderstandings and groundless accusations and assumptions, plus huge plot holes that were not properly resolved/explained by the end of the show. Definitely tainted a show that was otherwise enjoyable.
Otherwise, a not-too-draggy watch that was well-paced for 16 episodes.

Recommended for those who love: an overarching plotline, slow mystery, subtle humor, 'human' dramas
Not recommended: if you're looking for something episodic, something light, focus on medical drama or procedural police drama

Beautiful and talented actors and a comedy of grade 10.

Granted, I've seen the plot line one too many times. Chaebols? Really? And not only that, but SECRET chaebols? Sure, the weight-beauty-fitness isn't one that is often reappearing in dramaland, but the scorned, prickly guy feels similar to So Ji Sub's Master's Sun character. It feels completely recycled and inorganic, but we're still at Episode 2 anyhow, so here's to hoping So Ji Sub may put an extra edge to John Kim. So far, the way he's been peeling back the layers and characterisation of John Kim, I'm already on my hopeful way to believing that he truly can improve this trope of a character. He plays it deftly, sweetly and unlike usual prickly characters, this one's all gooey and kind and smile-y, and I hope this continues.
Shin Min-Ah's character, so far, has been my favourite thing ever. She retains a strong personality, even through her weight change, and she's never veered from her dream of becoming a lawyer and fighting for what's right. I'm so proud of her, and it's rare to come across a character as level-headed like her who doesn't take her good looks too seriously. Never has she let people define her according to her body weight, and I am happy about that. Kudos to you, woman!
Tonally, the show seems to finally snag on its thematic voice at the end of Episode 2. It's settled on being a high-spirited, fun tone, but with hints of realism in a few places, which is all good and well, as we need more doses of realities in Rom-Coms, just so we can remember that no, this does not all go fluffily and happily. Success isn't achieved by aegyo expressions and prickly bantering.
The music is upbeat, and matches the moments well, but I feel like the comedy needs a bit more of tampering to be much more swift and on-time, because it's poster advertised a light, cute, fun diet loss show and insofar, the comedy has been a liiiittle bit lacking.
I would not rematch this, but don't take it personally, Show, I wouldn't rematch any show at all, really. I've never been much more of a serial re-watcher, mostly because there are SO many more dramas to watch out there. But nonetheless, Oh My Venus, I hope you continue to surprise me and sweep us off our feet!

I really enjoyed the storyline and the acting was surely great, the whole cast was very good, especially Park Bo Young, she did an awesome job portraying both characters perfectly.
For those interested in watching this, i can assure you that this drama isn´t a waste of time, if you enjoy a fairly good romantic comedy ( by the way, i really liked Jo Jung Suk character despite trying to look stern and being cocky, his hilarious jealousy moments and cuteness overload will make your heart melt) mixed with paranormal/ghostly stuff (not scary at all, really) this is a MUST. Also, one of the highlights of the show is it´s unexpected twists and the bitter sweet ending will make you feel all the feels!
God, i miss it already xD Enjoy fellas!

Ouroboros may sound like a simple story about 2 boys who met in the orphanage and set off to get revenge when their foster mother was killed right in front of them, however don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the summary because there’s more that this drama could offer. It has a dark humor hovering around the dialogues, violence, secrets within a secret and the never ending conspiracies from one another. It’s a twisty piece of work that would keep you on your toes, even though at times it is easy to guess who the culprit is, it still does not deter the mysterious death of some characters due to an underlying circumstances in every episode.I knew what I was getting myself into when I started this drama and yet I still watched it until the very end. Though there were a lot of things in this series which I didn't like, there were MORE things which I found likable that it made up for the lack luster of what I was expecting. Another thing about the story line is the ending, it was great that the writers were not afraid to go into that kind of direction for the finale episode. It made me smile and cry at the same time.
The bonus point for me in this drama is the fact that Ikuta Toma and Oguri Shun are my Japanese Actor biases. Then add up Ueno Juri into the tandem, that makes it a perfect cast for me. They are a bunch of veterans and I felt the vibe of the whole drama along with the cast's chemistry. It was really something that these actors can pull off. One minute they are being all funny, then the next they're mad and then all of the sudden they're crying. It's like watching a whirl wind of emotions set to trap me in all those feels.
There were times though when they are set up in a ridiculous situation and have to give an over the top acting style (which is sometimes annoying) but they eventually redeem themselves with the dialogues and the funny inserts. But mostly, this drama is full of seriousness and has a heavy feel. It shows that every action has consequences and choices made whether it's right or wrong has its own ramifications. In the end Karma wins everything. I love how they explained what Ouroborus meant, it is actually an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The name originates from within Greek language; (oura) meaning "tail" and (boros) meaning "eating", thus "he who eats the tail" (excerpted from Crystalinks), in the drama they explained that it also meant life and death, the cycle of humans who lived then died and lived again.
Music wise, this OST really caught my attention. Hearing the sound track felt really familiar, it was as if I heard them before on several dramas. When I researched, Arashi's name came out. That' when I realized the music score felt like listening to Maou's OST which was also sang by Arashi. It was a really good music score which was attractive enough to fit the drama's tone.
Another thing that made this enjoyable was the political battles inside the police government and each department. It's fun seeing who's side would win and who along the way would be affected. Usually though due to these political strife the innocent becomes not so innocent due to grudges held. I want to say more but I'm holding myself off since I don't want to give spoiler alerts to anyone.
Last note: this drama has a minimal or almost none-existent romance along the story line so I would suggest for people to check out this drama if they are in the mood for the things I have mentioned above except for the romance part.

If you have ever feel your heart grew cold by the prevalent hectic modern culture, feeling a little beaten by this life or feeling bored by the seemingly endless cycle of this rat race - then it is time to watch Scent of a Woman.
I literally cried through 10 pcs of tissue. For 12 hours straight. The next morning I was reborn.
Enough said??

to understand the high ratings. How is a 30 something woman can even
justify beating up school kids. How is it possible for the creators
to make her so attractive to kids because she can beat everybody up,
even to the kids she beats up. How is a woman whose face is so filled
with botox she has no expression in half her face be confused with a
fresh young student. How is it possible to justify a 30 something
woman flirting with a young student and pretend she doesn't realize
that a young kid that age is full of hormones and if she keeps touching
him is provocative. If this was a man everybody could easily see how
wrong this is. How can a lady who keeps two men like lap dogs and hit
them constantly be funny. If you reverse the sexes it would become
very obvious how distasteful this drama is.
