I'd say the story was okay. When looking back it was basically a Romeo and Juliet story. It had one major plot so it wasn't all over the place. The surrounding subplots lead up to the major problem so I'd say they did well to stay within their plot line. The romance did feel a little repetitive at some point but I'd say it's because both main characters were written to be stubborn so their decision felt like ongoing battles between their desire / love and pride. Near the middle / end of the show it does become less about romance and more drama-ish (importance of family and justice - although it does surround the main romance plot line). To further elaborate as to why it was only okay its because personally I did not like the ending not because of the lack of romance but the ending was truly puzzling.
As for the acting, I haven't seen any of the other actor's stuff but Guigui always seem to be playing the playful, cute and lovable character thus her doing well here was no surprise. It was like a copy paste of her other works just in another time / dimension. Plus, I find her shippable with anyone so I was fine with her acting. I'd also like to point out that the acting here was good for what was needed to be presented. Some of the actions the "characters" did in the show were questionable, but I can't blame the actor's acting for it. Thus, they acted well for their characters. The only problem I had was the dubbing. Guigui's dubbed voice honestly made her sound even more like a child / younger, so sometimes I couldn't take her seriously.
Music was okay. They have an opening and ending song but I usually skip those so I don't even remember what they were. The music within the show didn't distract me from what's happening. They did well with the music during the romance scenes and since it's a romance drama, I'd say they did great.
Now the rewatch value... hmm, personally, I would only rewatch the beginning 20 so episodes? Cause they were cute. But near the end I was completely disinterested. Also the final episode was terrible. I honestly hoped that I had got it wrong and there was at least one more episode left. If I had known that, that was the final episode I would've stopped much earlier! So to say, I liked the romance, the main pair in the drama, even the story was pretty okay but the ending was bleh. I suggest you try it but if you didn't like the first 20 so episodes, you won't like the rest of it either.

Old characters from season one are here, but new ones are also introduced. What would the series be without A-jin or Yu Shu? Mrs. Jiang isn't the normal mother, who is crazy about status, but supports her daughter in law fully. It is a refreshing changed from the usual mother in law drama. Xiang Qin's new friends add comedy to her antics.
The writers did a great job of advancing both characters. Their relationship has the obstacles, but in true romance fashion, their love conquers all. This series is light, fun, and a wonderful way to spend your weekend.

STORY
So we basically have a light hearted drama about the producers of the korean TV channel KBS. The protagonists have to do with the variety and music shows, while IU plays a kpop idol. As a drama, meaning the love story/triangle, character developments, backstory revealings ect, nothing extraordinary happens. Everything is pretty straightforward, we get a love triangle between the main characters and the writers played a lot around with the ships.
I said it is a wonderful drama but not for the obvious reasons exactly because the main goal of the drama isn't to showcase a specific story, it wants to give an insight of what happens behind the cameras of a TV channel, and also what happens behind the fake smiles of the kpop industry. Each episode has a main idea to explain about how the TV world works, ex: what happens when a show gets cancelled, what happens when a show has failling ratings, what happens when the producers want to cast new show members ect. And along with these questions that are explored in each episode we get closer to the 4 main characters and their (love) lives that get tangled up pretty quickly.
What i loved the most was the insight we got about the kpop industry. This was probably the main reason why i liked the drama as a whole. As a huge kpop fan, a lot of questions, ideas, or thoughts i had about the industry get explored here (ex: how bad a company treats their idols, or are the images each idol presents their true self or just a fake image their company forced them to present, also how do the idols feel, are they really happy and confident as they seem or they are as depressed as every one of us ect).
About the episode lenght, because people said the drama was too short ect, well, i started the drama because it was just 12 episodes, but it took me longer than any other drama i've ever watched to finish it. Each episode has 70-90 minutes long, the last episode is almost 2 hours. Yes, the episodes are 12 in total, but they felt more than 20 to be honest. In 80 minutes there were a bunch of unnecessary stuff being presented which annoyed me, filler sub-stories ect.
Overall, as far as the plot goes, it wasn't the best plot ever, everything that was shown has been done before, it wasn't anything super complicated, it was mostly based in the main cast ships. The show payed a lot of attention in giving an insight on the music and tv industry in korea.
ACTING
Brilliant, and top notch just like in almost every kdrama...
I think it is public knowlegde what a flawless actress Gong Hyo Jin is, nothing else needs to be said. She was as amazing as always here. Cha Tae Hyun was also good in his role, same goes for Kim Soo Hyun (he is such a sweetheart).
I want to give a special paragraph to IU, because she blew me away. I can't say i'm a huge fan of her as an idol, but i really loved her acting, she was a perfect match for this role. I am not sure if she is THAT good, but sometimes it didn't really feel like she was acting, i felt like she was herself, ex: when she was bitchy, or when she was feeling lonely, like noone was there, in need of friends ect. It seriously felt like Cindy was up to a certain point IU herself. I really liked her, and she grew on me even as a singer.
RECOMMEND/REWATCH
Hm, well this is tricky. I can understand people saying that the drama was boring, i felt bored sometimes during the episodes, (90 minutes were really too much), so about the recommendation, i'd say, watch it if you are a kpop fan like me, so you'll appreciate and expect more than just the 'usual' drama from it.
Would i rewatch it? Probably not, putting all the kpop info i got aside, the plot was 'been there, done that';.

Story
Gila! Sungguh. Indah sekali. Di awal-awal cerita bahkan aku sampai menangis segala. Huh, so sweet!
Acting/Cast
Music
Lagu-lagu temanya benar-benar rekomen banget buat menaikkan semangat kalian. Arti liriknya juga menyentuh sekali, apalagi tentang persahabatan.
Rewatch Value
Ngasih semangat banget.

Story
Kim Hye Jin, tumbuh menjadi seorang gadis berambut keriting dan jerawatan. Ji Seong Joon, tumbuh menjadi pemuda tampan dan pekerja keras. Perubahan keduanya benar-benar menakjubkan.
Wah, She Was Pretty menganut paham 'cinta masa kecil' nih. Seru banget.
Acting/Cast
Sebelumnya aku udah nonton aktingnya Hwang Jung Eum dan Park Seo Joon sebagai adik-kakak di Kill Me Heal Me. Di sini kemistri mereka dapet banget. Menurutku karakter Kim Hye Jin nggak beda jauh sih sama karakter Oh Ri Jin, heboh nya samaaa, haha. Aku suka Park Seo Joon di sini. Mungkin karena dia peran utama jadi karismanya dapet banget. Tapi aku lebih suka Hye Jin - Shin Hyeok masa. Ketawa mulu tiap ada mereka berdua. Aku juga suka sama karakernya Pemred Kim. Saat dia memberikan ambutan di ulang tahun The Most, kata-katanya menyentuh sekali. Jadi baper bacanya (ya karena aku baca subtitlenya)
Music

A spoiler free, 5 star review with my opinions, likes and non-existent dislikes of this drama and it's drop-dead perfection that deserves to be seen by all and every. A Love To Kill is, Hands Down, one of the best dramas I have EVER seen. And I'm saying that with over 150 dramas under my belt. If you're in the mood for a romantic, suspenseful, tragedy, first/true-love story.. buckle your seat belts because this will break your heart and yet keep you coming back for more.
I am a huge fan of Rain, and I say that having seen almost every one of his dramas (well at least having STARTED every one of his dramas) and loving and admiring his work. So yes, I may be a tad biased towards his dramas but for good reason. He's a TERRIFIC actor!
Shin MinA startled me with her beauty, her depth, and her vulnerability in creating this character.
Despite making this drama seem really intense, tragic and heartbreaking (which it is) It's also really sweet and there is a lot of hidden depth to each and every scene, as well as every character and change in attitude and view. Although I'm not super fond of all the characters, they all have their own struggle and their own story.
I cannot begin to explain to you the excellence in the writing of this script, you will only be able to know by watching it for yourself and realizing how lovable and re-watchable (coming from someone who REALLY doesn't re-watch dramas) this one is. Going back to re-watch scenes and episodes every once in a while, it's really incredible to see how connected everything is. From episode one, something occurs that later will be either explained or somehow related to something in a later episode. It's incredible.
The music is so perfect and beautiful and heartbreaking that EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear the OST I fall in love with it all over again and even begin to tear up. It's catchy, soothing, melancholy and is played at the most perfect and fitting times.
If you pay close attention to the dialog throughout the drama, from the beginning to end, everything intertwines and means something at some point or another. In the very last scene, there is a vital part of information you'll miss if you don't pay close enough attention, which will simply crush the courage you built up to hold in the tears.
I really want to give a hand to the cast and their acting because it really was something.Consider yourself warned, this is a hard-core melodrama and if you aren't in the mood to be swept off your feet by a river of tears, don't watch A Love To Kill because it will break your heart. But It's SOOOO worth it and I want you to watch it anyway so we can rant and discuss and cry over it together! The acting, as I was saying, was simply incredible. Each cast member did a fantastic job of portraying their character and each and every thought that went through that characters head at every scene they were in. The longing in Shin MinA's eyes, the passion in Rain's, the outrage in Lee Ki-Woo's eyes. Everything was perfectly done and in the most unsuspecting way.
Now, like every older melodrama there usually seems to be a lot of lagging parts in the middle with stupid seemingly fixable problems. Although this drama has NONE and let me say that again, NONE of those draggy-boring moments. Let me assure you, every scene has meaning and some sort of depth. You may not see it right away but you shouldn't skip parts because later it will come up and you will wish you had read deeper into the moment you skipped.
There is so much more I'd like to say about this drama but there isn't anything I can add without giving examples that would be spoilers or simply repeating the words, "I LOVE THIS DRAMA SO FRIGGIN MUCH!!!" So I just won't continue. YOu should watch it. That's all I have to say. If you still aren't interested by the 3rd episode then drop it. Otherwise... You're in for a treat.

The drama has the main tropes of a sports high school drama: one team initially divided, one teacher who is there to change their fates, a girl coach with an attitude, a reporter, bonding and lots of failing.
But not all of it is exactly as it seems. The team is actually bad, really bad and, from day one, they recognize they suck. They won't try to change miraculously overnight, they won't try to out-power their more qualified competitors, they will do what they can with what they have. It's pretty much a Dragon Zakura take on sports, if you will. Which, honestly, is a welcome change in my opinion.
The teacher, who seems to be there to change their fates and lives (played by Nino), is actually kind of really done with everything. All the time. And not in a "I pretend I don't care but I'll stay up late cleaning" kind of done, he seems to genuinely not care. Which, of course, has deep roots in memories and a background story to be resolved, but it pays off because, when you get to see emotional Nino, you feel the intensity much more clearly.
In dramas like this, with so many cliches, what really makes them stand out to me are the characters and their growth. I have to say I was invested with almost all of them (with the exception of a love triangle I really didn't care about enough at all). My special mentions go to Kanata Hongo, Shotaro Mamiya and Kento Yamazaki (those last two have some really interesting story and development together I was very interested in).
All in all, yes, it's filled with cliches, but most of them have their own spin, and it's worth a try. Most of all, my favorite thing about it is that it's unapologetically honest and raw at times. There's a certain scene which is very emotional, for example, and it has absolutely no background music at all, which I thought was a great move to make it even more intense. If you like sports dramas but want something a bit different and don't mind the drama, try this one.

First, the rewatch value is immense. Music is wonderful, Tsuyogari by Kome Kome Club is my favorite Japanese song ever, only TM Network Get Wild comes close. I will try to make it short
The story had the best love letter ever(better than A Walk To Remember which plagiarized , the Bible haha)
The female lead was superb, at times you feel like she does not deserve the male lead and other times you wonder why he is so lucky to have someone like her.
The supporting cast were wonderful especially his hilarious friend
The only fault I think was trying to be like the original Korean movie: copying and pasting some scenes which were unnecessary as this show had a story enough story on its own.
I personally love watching a female lead that has a male lead wrapped around her finger but this is the only series that that quality remains from start to finish haha.
Verdict: Better than the original but didn't know it XD
