Oddly enough, Splash Splash LOVE is the first time travel drama that I've watched and I absolutely adored it. The plot was so clever! Since I have no previous experience with time travel plots, I have nothing to compare it to so I don't know if this was and especially unique time travel drama, but I certainly enjoyed it. I loved the plot pacing and thought it was very well done for such a short drama. Plus everything tied together! The writers did an awesome job of including little details that ended up playing a part in the plot. The ending was really satisfying as well. I definitely wish that we could have more episodes, but at the same time I think that this length somehow worked.
The acting was awesome. The only cast member that I'm really familiar with is Kim Seul Gi and she did not disappoint. The rest of the cast was great as well. There wasn't a large cast of characters, but each person felt like they were fleshed out enough that we could get to know them to some extent within the 2 episodes.
I really liked the Splash Splash LOVE OST. It was refreshing compared to the other historical drama OSTs I've heard. I have nothing against the classic historical drama instrumental pieces, but this OST was just so new. It was quirky, but so was the drama and I really really liked it! The use of modern and upbeat songs added to the whole vibe of the show. Plus all of the songs are super catchy!
Overall I really liked Splash Splash LOVE. It's a drama I'd recommend to a friend I'm trying to get into dramas. I'd also watch it if you're in a drama slump. It's short and sweet but still lets you experience a range of emotions. It's a well rounded drama that took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did and I certainly wasn't expecting to get this attached to the characters. It was a pleasure to watch and I am so glad that I gave it a chance!

this great and loveable drama deserve some review.
i was hesitant to watch this, because there a lot of pretty boy and i though 'ah, this going to be boring and cliche'...but, i'm 110% wrong! i even watch it marathon even though its not weekend.
STORY :
its an original drama indeed, not usual story line, not just some love triangle and 'in your dream only' storyline. its really real, down to earth, i can imagine this kind of thing can really happen in real life. theres so many life lesson i get from this drama, mostly about friendship and loyalty, family, and of course love. the biggest lesson i learn that we need to stay true to yourself. each character and scene was connected, understandable, well build, very described very well. there is no slightest confusing moment.
ACTING :
ah...its hard to put this in words.
Lee Min Ki was my favorite out of the bunch, he's not even the prettiest of them but his character was so real, it glued to me even after i finish watching, though he's not present until the last episode, he is just supporting role, OMG, WHYY??!! supporting but important i guess. i still saving all the episode with him in it to rewatch it if i miss his character. Lee Min Ki portrayed Byung Hee very very well, his craziness, his free-spirited attitude and a leader charisma is all there in his eyes, in his gesture, in his every move, in every words he say, even the outfit he choose. i can understand why he became the leader and all of the other love him. I'm SOLD!!
Sung Joon did really great job portraying his newbie leader of the band. i can feel that hes really like Su Ah and never been in love before from his gesture whenever Su Ah in there.
Jo Bo Ah...so, this girl is really pretty, i can see why she become Byung Hee muse...this dark drama suddenly become brighter whenever shes on screen. shes brave and strong, a great female character
L's acting is kinda on and off in here, actually the scenario about his character is really well build (like the other) its just his acting is sometimes believable, sometimes not. but, his voice was soooo.....DAEBAK!!
Lee Hyun Jae acting is rather flat, for me he is the weakest actors in the drama, sadly, he and L was the prettiest from the band. but once again, the story was so strong and well build so his acting not even make me skip watching even for a second.
MUSIC :
Jaywalking, wake up...i dont really like it at first but this song is an ear-catching work of art...i love it after a few time.
Seung Hoon song (forget the name) was also an ear-catching song, and the voice of the singer is really fit the melody.
just watch this if you have time, it is a high quality story kind of drama so i can assure you that you're not wasting your time. it not just some cliche romance, its about life.

Ah, yes...
After watching it twice (I had to, because the first time watching it I was yust squealing the whole time when there was an EXO-member... so the whole time.) I can tell you the story in ONE sentence:
THIS is what might happen, when a pretty good looking girl enters a boygroup and gets VERY near to the stars... Yep.
But the girl entering their private life was the craziest, dumbest and redest girl somebody could fantasize about. I mean... to describe her you could say "what is red beside Rudolphs red nose?" Right, her.
And who is propably the dumbest "fangirl" who doesn't care about stars beeing humans? Right, her.
And maybe every other exo-fan. What is very dumb.
The detail I liked the most about this drama, was, that it shows that even big stars are still human.
They have a past, they have relatives they love(d? maybe) and they can fall in love even if that means breaking every fangirls heart.
They are human! Don't be like super squealing and then fainting yust y seeing them. Please
I mean, it's their free private time, as the drama perfectly showed even if... watch this for yourself.
The acting was awful -from side of the girl, her brother and so on... the boys were pretty good by playing themself just in freetime. Exept one... Oh man.
But the storyline is just so boringly predictable! The dream of thousands of EXO-fangirls: Getting to know them by beeing their neighbor. And then maybe somebody of them falls in love with you and then you can date and and... asdfghjkl
Yeah, and of course there is this secret of your beloved member and you're gonna be the one knewing about it.
A fanfiction coming true, but sadly not a kaisoo or what so ever fanfiction, that would've been HILARIOUS. But sadly nope. But I'm so happy that this drama is so short. I mean 16 episodes, 14min each what would be.... all in one a bit over 3h long!
And I don't remember the music, so maybe it wasn't nerveswrecking? yeah maybe, I'm giving it than 7/10....
Poor acting girl, good looking (GODS) stars in their freetime, a secret and... a really great house!
jep, their house was gorgeous.
I'm gonna watch it again for my bias' sake. God damnit (and not because of the story, thats why it is only a bit over 5points)

Those are the three words I can describe I Remember You.
During the course of watching the drama, I often wonder to myself, 'how can a drama be this good?' In a way, there are many plot points that could've gone awry, executions that would've made the whole drama into a train wreck, or characters that would've become so frustrating, yet somehow, none of that happened. Instead, the opposite of it became the final product: storyline filled with suspense, angst, with an air of quirky comedy that will keep you glued to your screen from the first minute to the last, excellent relays of the writer's ideas transforming to a visual interpretation from the directors and producers even with the camera works, and finally, characters that are heart-wrenching, clever, and refreshing.
The ability of the drama to execute pathos within its loyal viewers despite the horrific acts and wrongdoings other characters have made is a feat within itself. The drama's question of, Are monsters created or born?, makes you re-evaluate yourself on your own morals and values.
The drama is sadly underrated, but as to what I've read somewhere, the ratings were very steady, which can mean that those who loyally watched from the first episode sticked until the end, and loved it to its core. Honestly speaking, ratings do not even matter anymore. However, there's a part of me that is upset and hurt that I Remember You did not get the justice to be praised, applauded, and commended for what it's worth. Such a pity that it wasn't appreciated during its airing when it is clearly one of the best and unforgettable dramas in 2015.
I find myself unable to move on, having major withdrawals from the drama, crying whenever I hear Dear Cloud's Remember as if the song comforts me as it comforts our characters. That itself makes me believe that I would have missed out real good have I not watched this gem.
Kudos, I Remember You, you will be remembered, and never forgotten. With that, I give it not just a 10 out of 10, but a 15 + alpha.

*Warning, this review has very vague spoilers.....but I thought I'd warn regardless.*I decided to watch this drama because I absolutely adore Shin Min Ah and So Ji Sub. They are two of my very favorite Korean actors--I'd watch anything that includes them. Even though this drama wasn't really my cup of tea (for reasons I'll get to in a second), that still stands true. I'll watch them in anything--they're great.
Before I get to my problems with the show, I'll first touch on what I liked:
1. A slightly unique k-drama ending. Without giving anything away, the drama pretty much wraps itself up by episode 14. Cue the horror I felt that the next two episodes were just going to be one angst ride of a cliche after another (just to fill the quota of 16 episodes). It builds up to a point where you think it will go in a normal kdrama cliche, but instead veers to a sharp left, avoiding it. It was surprising and appreciated. It made the next two episodes more fun, sweet (ie a certain scarf scene), and cute. I really felt that was needed (because of the previous episodes). So definitely a kudos on that aspect.
2. The mementos and theme. While normally the idea of keeping a band-aid REALLY grosses me out, I thought it was an endearing touch on the theme of 'injured people need time to heal wounds that are sometimes really hard to see.' That theme is brought up often, especially as a personality trait that the main-lead has a weakness for in others. Various people in this show are injured in some way or another and I liked seeing how the show dealt with them overcoming that. Having a band-aid be kind of the OTP's 'thing' was nice, especially with how it all tied in at the end.
3. More realistic(ish) kisses and an actual sexual relationship. It's pretty common place that in a k-drama you're going to get those dead fish kisses (which this drama is not devoid of) and just no mention of sex at all. That's just Korean dramas for you. So whenever a drama breaks that mold, like this one does (slightly) it's a big deal in my book. The side characters got some REAL actual kisses and the show made it clear that the OTP had sex (and there were even some scenes that were really playful with this concept). So that DEFINITELY gets a huge thumbs up for me.
Now onto the problems/things I didn't like about this drama:
1. The BIGGEST problem was the family dynamics across the board. Family dynamics were underutilized and not played to their full potential. They were also SUPER confusing. Especially So Ji Sub's family. He rarely interacted with his father or grandmother--so it was super hard to connect with them or get their impact on what the story was supposed to be. He only interacted with his half-brother ONCE (the end episode)! I also just didn't understand his relationship with his uncle or step-mother--they just never interacted. I just didn't understand why....there was huge potential missed there. You barely get a feel for Shin Min Ah's mother and certainly not her brother, nor do you truly understand the pain she had of losing her father. I just....I don't know, felt hugely let-down by the family dynamics, they just didn't play a role in this drama and I felt that left gaping holes in the plot, storyline, and cohesion/flow of the story. It was sooooo confusing, to the point where at various points it HURT my brain trying to figure out why the writers were purposefully skirting around all the normal issues that would involve family scenes. It was almost as if they were working hard trying to prevent any family scenes from taking place, it was weird. Everything felt really disconnected in that regard.
2. Maybe this is just my own weird thing, but.....I thought all the fat jokes/cliches were, ugh...annoying. They continued, right up to the end. Sure, they were trying to make it a "Oh, being healthy (also on the inside) is a good thing, not just losing weight!" But it was essentially just a story of a girl losing weight and gaining a guy. Sometimes I felt like they went a little overboard to the point where it got a little cheesy and cliched (not to mention annoying). But again, that may just be a preference thing. At least this drama only had one instance of weird K-drama bathroom humor. So I'll count my blessings with that.
3. The convoluted angst. It's true that for the most part, this drama is pretty bubbly and comedic. BUT when it does do angst (particularly the antics that break up the OTP) it did not work for me, at all. This may be a slight spoiler, so *WARNING* but at one point, the So Ji Sub leaves her (for in my opinion, a dumb reason).....and for some reason won't allow her to see him, at all. Also, no texting/calling....nothing. Just a complete up and leaves with no trace. He's supposedly supposed to come back to her at some point, but I just felt it was stupid. I didn't understand why it was so important that he had to cut her off, it made no sense. It felt like they were creating angst for no reason and brought me out of the story. It was just dumb. Also, anything angsty like that, just wasn't handled very well. It didn't flow with the story well.
4. Overuse of flashbacks. When a drama is using enough flashbacks to the point where you say to yourself: "Dang, that's a lot of flashbacks." It's overused. It became a crutch and a pointless time-filler. It was fairly annoying, because these flashbacks weren't just of the far past of these characters (which is fine), but things that happened JUST barely. It became really apparent that they were using it to fill time for episodes, which made it just seem sloppy and overused. It to be honest was a little off-putting.
So overall, just not my cup of tea. Not completely horrible. There are some good reasons to watch this drama, but I fear it's a little overrated because of the actors in it. Just be prepared for some confusion and a little bit of frustration if you decide to watch this drama. I hope your experience will be better than mine was.

story: as far as the story goes it isn't terribly original but thats normal in dramaland. There were a lot of refreshing differences in the plot compared to other dramas however and it wasn't riddled with cliches. If there was a misunderstanding in the drama like we so often see, instead of dragging it out for 4 or 5 episodes, the misunderstanding usually got resolved within the episode and so I was never so frustrated I wanted to rip my hair out. The story progressed in a believable fashion and I felt everything was realistic.
characters: All the characters were nicely developed. I loved that the main girl didn't fall for the rich handsome successful guy and actually broke dramaland tradition and went for the poor and not so handsome guy. Their romance was beautifully done and their interactions were adorable. I loved that he wasn't a jerk to her and I loved that they were honest with eachother and their feelings.
music: the music in this was so-so. nothing stood out really.
over all I give this drama a 9 because it kept you watching and didn't lose your interest. I was rather really happy with this drama and I hope you consider watching it to.
