Wait, let me try this again.
Absolutely watch this dorama if you're looking for a different kind of crime series.
I am no expert on the matter, but I believe crime series are mostly about heists and police running about trying to catch the bad guys. In here, of course, you will find all that - Yamaneko is a ''criminal'' after all, - but you will also find a bit of mystery, quite a bit of sass, a lot of friendship, and loads of comedy. What you will also find is a variety of amazingly well constructed characters that will make you fall in love with them as the series progresses.
Speaking of the characters... don't fall in love with the characters or you'll get feels and you'll die. Or, as some people may put it, every character is so real and so genuine you will definitely get attached to them and, when time comes to say goodbye, you'll feel like you've lost a dear friend. That's what the characters do to you, and that's, no doubt, thanks to the great performance given by the stellar cast, especially Kamenashi Kazuya and Narimiya Hiroki.
Kamenashi absolutely slays it as Yamaneko, going from comedy to action to drama in a split second and in the most realistic way. I've seen some of his previous work, and I have to say he manages to surprise me more and more with each role he gets. Narimiya was, to put it in Yamaneko's words ''fantastic!'' He can hold his own against Kamenashi, and really goes all out as Katsumura, especially in later episodes.
As for the rest of the cast, each of them was phenomenal in their role. If I have to be completely honest, I would have liked for Rikako-san and Mao's relationship to be explored more, because they were both strong people who needed each other, and I found that beautiful. Maybe in the (probable?) next season, who knows. The police officers were great as well - and I especially appreciated Sakura's clumsiness and awkwardness when it comes to her senpai. lol
I liked the music a lot! The main theme is great, and I keep whistling and mumbling it to myself from time to time. The ending theme, which I believe is from Kame's boyband, is good, but not that memorable, in my opinion. Maybe it's because we never got to actually hear it, but it was always played in the background, so I never really paid attention to it.
The rewatch value is somewhat high because this series is enjoyable even after the ''mystery'' component is gone. The characters and the comedy stay with you and compel you to watch the episodes again, to laugh with them once more, just for a bit...
Overall, I am very pleased with this roller coaster of a dorama. Nya~!

Story: not a new line. Older 35+ woman conned/betrayed by lover, lover had teenage son he dumped upon woman, homeless, penniless and smart woman pulling herself back together. Many side characters who are damaged accompany her along her journey of forgiveness. Really loved the full spectrum of characters age, appearance, and status portraying parallel problems to the lead actress!
Acting: Female lead was great, however my favorite was grandpa. Grandpa kept it real for the entire series. Other characters filled the second lead well however you never lost focus on the lead actress.
Music: well matched to the mood, pace and story-line. Nothing memorable - not a bad thing, Left me thinking about story not the music.
Re-watch: maybe since its a short series. Not a series that needs re-watch - this little gem needs to be watched.
Summary: Many of the scenes were so realistic of being dumped, used, betrayed, and numbness which made this drama memorable. This moves at a slower pace than many dramas since its packed with many meanings behind each word. Still trying to grasp why she took him back? This man was a bad man, maybe he was redeemed - trust broken is hard to re-establish. Could see forgiveness to personally move on BUT not to reconnect - Enjoy!

The 20 episodes was just right. And the ending, they wrapped it up pretty nicely. No loose ends and no abrupt ending...
So I am a happy drama watcher. Totally satisfied. =)

I wanna be a sup'tar was such a nice coincidence for me. I found about this drama thanks to a fan video on Youtube and decided to give it a try after watching the great chemistry between the leads. I was not disappointed. Actually what made this show so enjoyable and addicting to me were the leads. Their chemistry was so strong and their story was so beautiful and funny to see.
The way they meet and how the relationship develops is nothing new in Dramaland (it's a common formula known by everyone) but it works during 26 episodes just fine. I never felt the need to skip although not every character was loveable or nice, I never felt bored, I was genuinely invested in our leads stories, especially in our heroine's story. She was my favorite character of the show, she was funny, quirky and crazy and Gypso did a great job protraying her. Also our male lead, he was (of course) breathtakingly handsome, funny, and he was also crazy (in his own way) not as much as our female lead tho hehe.
Something I loved about this drama so much was that we could truly see how much they loved each other and how strong their love grew. Specially with the male lead, what he did for love and how he changed for love was beautiful to see. He really loved her a lot. I also loved the cohabitation trope. This was like a mix between Full House and Personal Taste.
The side characters were perfect in my opinion. They had the right amount of screentime and interaction with our leads. The actors did an amazing job with everyone. The villian was on point (he was a crazy one but on point) The cinematography and the places were beautiful to see too. Also the ost was just right.
I'm 100% sure that I will rewatch this soon. (maybe right after finishing this review lol) And I recommend this to anyone wanting a light rom com with great chemistry.

Lee Joon-gi was outstanding as usual and I expected nothing less. He played his character the way I wanted him to - at its finest and doing his best during every minute of the episodes.
This drama served as great entertainment with its magical effect and mystical plot twist. The music was great and made me feel the atmosphere better, it really contributed to the emotions you get while watching. G.NA did quite well!
The one actor that also gave me chills with his extreme handsomeness and skills when it came to acting was Lee Soo-hyuk. I will check another drama or movie of him for sure! His facial expressions, his professional gait of a real model, his height and his voice are something worth watching. Did I mention his acting talent?! I was convinced after the first few minutes that this casting decision was a good one, as Soo-hyuk portrayed the dark Gwi role brilliantly.
Fortunately, I haven't felt the drama drawn-out, but the acting of the main female role was from time to time, to explain it nicer, annoying or to be more accurate - I felt like Yu-bi was quite annoyed and upset, especially during the kissing scenes. If there are true Joon-gi fans here, they all know that the way he kisses in dramas can make you feel that he's in love with the person he's kissing. But the girls... There's no chemistry here like everywhere else he's playing with some exceptions. On the other hand, you can find chemistry between other characters but I don't want to spoil, the idea's to catch your attention after all.
In addition to everything I wrote, the timeline was exclusively clear! It wasn't hard to tell whether it had been days or months or years that had passed since the last time a given character had been on screen. And I think this is very important when it comes to series.
To sum up, Scholar Who Walks The Night is exciting, creative, dark and at the same time beautiful, magical and unique. It's well worth those 20 hours of your time!

I loved all the cast, and characters. I loved that all of them were flawed in some way, and that even minor characters had depth, and were complicated. I especially loved the chemistry between Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo! From their very first scene together, I saw the spark of what would become my three day obsession. Jo In Sung's charm is undeniable, which makes him perfect as a womanizing conman, but he also has this incredible sweetness that makes viewers *swoon* (I know I did with every smirk). Song Hye Kyo seems to be typecast as irrationally stubborn and kinda conceited (qualities that make me want to punch her character in "Descendants of the Sun"), but in this role it makes complete sense, and makes her character seem strong, and not just a pitiful victim with a disability - and YAY lady Chaebol! Yeoung is smart, and often a step ahead, which I liked most about her. She also did a pretty good job convincing me she was blind. The normal melodramatic KDrama romance back and forth was much less frustrating than it usually is for me, because their romantic tension was seriously epic! I won't say why, because it's a large part of the story, but when two people with abandonment issues, who can't admit how they feel, start falling for each other, it's gonna cause epic tension. Sure, if you replaced the music with a horror soundtrack, the show could suddenly seem like a frightening tale about a guy seriously stalking a blind girl, but we all know stalking means saranghae in KDramaland. It also helps that they are quite easy on the eyes, and that she's tiny enough to carry (ok, maybe that could be creepy too).
There are too many great performances by minor characters to name them all, but I will name a few. Kim Bum is always great, and adorbs, so the fact that he's so good is no surprise. Jung Eun Ji grew on me, and I liked her spunk. Bae Jong Ok, as the secretary, was super chilling, and surprisingly empathetic. I don't necessarily like how her actions are dealt with in this drama, but that has nothing to do with her performance, which was great. Seo Hyo Rim's annoying face is perfectly cast as super cray cray. Her character is so unhinged, that it was borderline comedic, but she truly pulled the character off. And then there is Kim Tae Woo as Moo Cheol, who was my favorite kind of villain. He's the kind of villain who is not only empathetic, but I couldn't help but root for him a little, because he was so good at being bad. He also pulled off being bad@ss very well, considering the fact that he looks like asian Spock. I only lowered the score slightly for those extra over the top moments, but in this genre, that's acceptable.
I truly think the writer and director did an amazing job putting all the pieces together. Sometimes it was confusing keeping track of certain rivalries, so I lowered my story rating a little, but it eventually all became pretty clear. The writer & director are the same team that made "Padam Padam", another tragic love story with Kim Bum as an epic sidekick, and disappointing kiss scenes (Though TWTWB isn't nearly as bad with the kiss scenes). Both stories are sweet, intriguing, frustrating, heartbreaking, and inspiring. With this drama in particular, I loved the imaginative way they chose to show memories, and her blindness, which kept me guessing as a viewer without it feeling gimmicky. I was also very confused by the ending, at first, which could be interpreted as open-ended, but I think it was very beautifully done, and not as unresolved as others may think. I took a deep satisfying sigh after it was all done.
The music was great, and fit the story well, but the lyrics were so literal I think I actually laughed at a few of them. I still liked it, I just wouldn't add it to my KDrama OST playlist.
Would I watch it again? Definitely. The suspense made the episodes seem to fly by, and kept me watching waaaaaaay past my bedtime. It may lose some of that thrill on a second viewing, but the performances are worth watching again, and I may catch something in the plot I missed the first time.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this as a must see for fans of romance and melodrama. There is also some action, and suspense, with enough humor thrown in to stop it from being too depressing. You may want to have plenty of tissues handy, just in case. You also have to sometimes give in to "KDrama logic", but who watches melodramas for their realism?
TWTWB made me glad to be an only child - siblings have so many rules lol! It also made me think about forgiveness, holding grudges, and what really matters. In my search to find a show that could remind me I have feelings... mission accomplished! My favorite drama list just got a little longer too.
I know I will probably never be able to hear a tiny bell again without thinking about this show.

IDK why this keeps happening to me, but you're watching this for the secondary couples. They're cute and adorable and way more realistic than the nonsense going on between Go Hye Rim and Choi Soo Hyun. I now want them in all the things in ways I didn't know I needed.
I lay the blame in the failure of the main couple on the writing of Go Hye Rim. She starts off super awesome and you're definitely fighting for her despite all the obstacles Choi Soo Hyun is determined to throw her way. And then she turns into this simpering little girl experiencing love for the first time and it's so abrupt you're gonna get whiplash. Soo Hyun is much more maturely developed in his feelings, and it's fun to see the sneaky ways that Hye Rim gets under his skin and softens him up. He's still prickly by the end, but becomes more of an Irie Naoki type of character which you're much more willing to put up with than the straight jerkface that he is in the beginning.
One thing that absolutely drove me crazy is the total lack of Hye Rim's daughter in the storyline in the second half. There is a conflict involving her, it's resolved, and then we never hear from her again and it's so not okay. THAT'S HER DAUGHTER!! You don't just write off a person's daughter. Not okay.

Story: Started well but not so original. I've seen things like those beofor (rich boy -poor girl) but it looked interesting because it had the idea of that poor girl faking her identity and entering the rich family. I thought that the psychological part will take a bigger part in this drama (I almost even didn't see it) that's why I had hopes. As I said before, the story at first was pretty interesting because each episode ended in a cliffhanger so that I really wanted to see what's next. After that, it was dragged until the end, nothing has really changed from episode 1 until 20 in the plot. I think that they could make it a drama of 12 episodes.
Characters/Cast: I don't think that I can say that the whole cast was horrible but Soo Ae was terrible from the beggining. Her face was a pocker face most of the times (even when she had to show emotional expressions), I didn't see any change in her character. I was excepting that she will change, have guts with pretending to be another woman. But at the end she wasn't charismatic untill the drama ended, didn't pretend well, was always caught. she was REALLY annoying to a level that I was literally suffering watching her. I couldn't agree with her behaviour- I mean, this is for her future and life, she could make a better acting and not be such an angel and so unrealistic.(even Eun Ha was a better character than Yi Suk)
Min Ho - was a fine character, didn't find him very appealing, I thought that he wasn't interesting. I don't even know how they fell in love, their relationship was pathetic, I thought that this kind of drama and situations will make them be "madly in love" but they didn't have any deep conversation or just normal conversations. Seok Hoon- He was scary at first but I just grew to learn that he was just a flat character, they could have showen more of his past and intentions and the way he tried to control Yi suk was pathetic at the end, their "trying to be psychological converstations" were just empty and leaded nowhere.
Mi Yeon- She was flat as well, I could see only her bad sides. I could feel for her sometimes but she was only -jealous- or only -insane- Even the supporting characters weren't interesting enough to watch (althought I love Hoya and wanted to see more of his character)
Music: Don't remember it, and don't think that it has a memorable song.
Other points: -I think that for at least, if the drama has a typical story line, it should have good characters/good romance. but this one was disappointing, I didn't feel their love, didn't feel that they were fated, I wanted them to get deeper and deeper into their past, into their lives and althought that they are different, they were meant to each other, but.NO. -The ending was bad . I didn't think that the ending could be a happy one, since althought YI Suk was threatened to pretend to be another girl, she made a crime, and even if she gets punished, she can't live-happily - Also the others; the villian, the character, Soo Ae's family and friends-they didn't show about them and about the tragedy of loosing her. But what they showed was a sentence about "how we should live our life and it's meaning"It wasn't even RELATED to the episode/the whole story. If I wanted to think about life's propose I could have read a book, so I'm sorry but this one was a failure. The reason I gave it a 5 was because of the 10 first episodes .
Rewatch Value: Will just be a waste of time.

Chronicle of Life started well, but ended with complete boredom. The premise of the story is good, but the execution was lacking as the story went round and round. The upside and difference in the story is that a majority of it happened outside of the palace and there was less bickering between the women than in other dramas like this. Rest assured that there is some bitterness between the courtesans and of course the mother and grandmother, but it doesn't take up the entire story. One plus is the excellent love in this drama accompanied by cheesiness and cuteness. I like those parts.I will just be real here. The ending is stupid and at that point I just didn't care anymore. I didn't feel anything for the main characters and was irritated with the writing of some of the other characters. I wish I could post spoilers, because I have some lengthy complaints. I scored COL a little higher because I didn't hate it and I love the cinematography, scenery, and costumes. Plus, the acting wasn't horrible.
I admit that I am a huge Lau Hawick fan, but I felt like he wasn't into his character as the Emperor. I also didn't feel the chemistry between him and Zheng Shuang as Lin Lang. They did have some really cute moments that made me smile. I felt more for Zhang Vin as Rong Rou and Zhang Edward as Chang Qing. I loved the characters and the actors. I felt like Chang Qing was written incorrectly at the end. His character would have made different choices for his love of family. Rong Rou was a beautiful character and I loved him most of all. The acting of the women was good also.
As I listen to the music it reminds me of a different song, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It is making me crazy.
I will never rewatch this.
I don't necessarily recommend this drama. If you like this genre, then it is an ok watch.

I have stopped following his shows for some time now because he wasn't that natural in some of them. But for this one, he deserves an award. He has matured in his acting, is natural, and relaxed now.
I look forward to his next show.

Criminologista Himura e o Escritor de Mistério Arisugawa

First of all, the story as a mystery thriller isn't innovative at all. It's like Sherlock and Watson in Japan. It's nothing new. The twists in each case aren't even shocking. The big concluding case isn't that interesting either. Sometimes there are let downs as well but the way the two characters interact with each other are great. The title of the show is 'Criminologist Himura and Mystery Writer Arisugawa' but honestly if you're going to play out two of these interesting characters under a law enforcement - they should've had more interesting cases. Or perhaps I just expected more from a crim. professor and a mystery writer engaging in the law enforcement. Nonetheless, the drama had it's format and it kind of knew that it was being cliche at some point so they let sub characters play out the all time (I have solved the case! - Marker) that is often indicated by the main lead. Due to its awareness it did well in a comedic sense and showed character development.
They're great actors in my opinion. The reason why I continued watching was because of the acting. The interaction between the two leads are really enjoyable. Even the sub characters were enjoyable. They bring the characters to life. It felt like they had been friends for such a long time they are practically a couple. They also did so well to portray the characters that you feel like they're really passionate about problem solving and mysteries. You also have to keep in mind that this is a Japanese drama. Sometimes things seem over the top but that's just the feel a Japanese drama has. Also, they do so well in making it feel like that's just how it is. So to say, even with the large exclamations from time to time, it felt normal. Thus, they did a great job.
Japanese soundtracks never disappoint in my opinion. They always know how to create a setting. The soundtrack here were great. It felt comedic yet intense at the same time. It was exactly how the drama was portrayed. There weren't any variations to the soundtrack though so the same one would play every so often. It was like a cue to things getting serious or the marker to knowing that the case has been solved.
Rewatch value is 7 /10 because once you know the reveal it isn't exactly as interesting the second time. BUT, I'd deff. rewatch for the scenes with the two leads. They're just too adorable together. I even watched the SP's because I wanted more of them regardless of what they were going to encounter.
Overall, it's 7.5 /10 because I was expecting more mysteries and thrillers. I wanted something shocking and new. I wanted to be surprised but all I got was cute bromance - which isn't bad at all but I wanted bromance and mind blowing cases.

Su Ran Ran's Husband Hunting Journey

The story is just like any other adventure story you'd find in that time and space. However, oddly enough I found this story well written compared to other popular dramas in this genre. The story actually made sense and it was so clear on what it was trying to say that I felt completely immersed. It had one task and it did well to convey itself from beginning to the end. Sometimes long dramas tend to add subplots that stray from the main story but this one, everything that was happening made so much sense. Perhaps it was because of how elaborate it was. It felt like they actually planned out the life of each character. The characters they focused on had a part and a history. Although it could have done better near the end I am pleased with the story and the ending. Also I felt like I got what I was expecting.
The acting and cast was good. I wouldn't say excellent but it was believable - and seeing as they have to convince us that they have super powers and can fight like crazy - they did well. I also haven't seen any of their other works but from their bio's on here it seems like the main leads are new actors. If I had to nitpick though, the actors seem better in the comedic scenes than the serious ones especially near the end. Furthermore, I wish there were more scenes of the main leads in the beginning because more scenes together would of made us feel a stronger 'love' connection between the two later on. I wish I felt more angst or... pain(?) for the main pair - like a longing for the love between the two. I understood it but I didn't feel it. This is where I'm wondering if it's the actor's acting or the way the scenes were shot and cut. Personally when it comes to this section, I can't tell if it's the acting that needs more improvement or the production team. Sometimes I find that scenes were too long but I felt that it wasn't because of the actor's acting that it felt weird but it was honestly how long the producer and camera men spent on their faces.
Music was not memorable but I personally skip ops and ends so I can't really give my input here. They weren't memorable in my opinion. But the soundtrack within the show was just like any other soundtrack of an adventure in this genre. They weren't blaring in your faces but it wasn't memorable to the point where I'd look for it after watching the drama.
The rewatch value is 6/10 because it's long. I wouldn't put myself through 50 episodes again. Perhaps the first 20 so episodes I would rewatch cause they were cute and I like how they established it. I watched the entire series at once so sometimes I felt like some parts were unnecessary so when rewatching I'd click through quite a lot just to see the main pair.
Overall it's an 7 /10 because I like when the drama makes sense and things tie up. Also the main leads were cute together. Wish there were more sparks(?) but they were cute nonetheless.
