The story had a good concept to it, but all the themes and events were poorly executed. Each of the students problems were boring, extremely cliche and it was nothing original. I realize that, in total, the drama had 3 hours of content (12 episodes x 15 minutes) to get through 5 students and Ye Rim's difficulties. But the director should have noticed that more time was needed to be put into each character, so either there should have been more episodes or they could have cut down on the amount of students (e.g. 3 students including Ye Rim, each giving them an hour of character development). I hope that the director learns on this and improves for his next project.
The acting in Nightmare Teacher was more tolerable than anything else in the drama. Kim So Hyun was, again, really good like usual, but because of the story's execution, some of her acting choices weren't the best. But I still love her. Lee Minhyuk has the potential to go far in acting, but he still has a long way to go. I hope that as him and fellow BTOB member Yook Sungjae continue in more dramas, he will become a superb actor. Everyone else did decent jobs in acting. Uhm Ki Joon's acting was pretty boring in my opinion, but I guess his role was a teacher, so not disappointed by that. Some of the other students could do with a lot of work, but they definitely contributed to the drama.
Music was good, but not at the same time. When the scenes were really tense or filled with suspense, the soundtrack did a good job of creating a better atmosphere. But during any other scene, the soundtrack failed to deliver. But listening back, some of the tracks are noteworthy.
I probably wouldn't watch Nightmare Teacher again, it would depend on how bored I would get to want to rewatch this.
Overall, Nightmare Teacher has a lot of flaws, but could have done a worse job. The acting definitely saved this series, because if it was based on plot alone, it would fail miserably. But if you're a good fan of Kim So Hyun or Lee Minhyuk, you can give this drama a shot.

The story was one of the two things that brought Page Turner to my attention because not only did it sound original, but I knew that classical music would be involved as it's part of the music genre. I'm a huge fan of classic music (e.g. Chopin, Bach, Stravinsky, etc.) so this was an immediate watch for me. But not only was that a wonderful addition to the series, they dropped a huge plot twist that nobody could have imagined. It was so out of the blue, but it worked perfectly with the atmosphere of the drama. I would love to go on about more, but I would spoil things if I did.
Kim So Hyun was the other reason why I picked up this drama. She's not only my most favourite teenage actress, but my favourite female actor of all time (second favourite overall after Yook Sungjae). And this drama just adds to how much I love her and her acting. She is superb, I can not imagine somebody not liking her as an actress - her acting is on point and makes any drama much better. I can imagine most other people watched this for Ji Soo, and I can see why. I had only previously seen his acting in Sassy Go Go (plan to watch Angry Mom soon too), and he was great in that. But even though it has only been a few months since that drama, I feel like his acting has improved massively, and I love him to bits. And finally, our most underrated but still awesome main actor - Shin Jae Ha. This man made Page Turner complete. I cannot have imagined another actor playing the role of Seo Jin Mok, he did a fantastic job and I hope he receives more recognition after this.
The music was mainly just classical because, obviously, one of the main genres of this series is music and involved a lot of piano recitals, rehearsals and concours. Some are not a fan, but I love listening to classic. It's so elegant and beautiful for the ears. I'm so glad the drama brought out quite a few pieces but played them with beauty and to their full length.
I've already decided to rewatch Page Turner as soon as my exams are over in 11 weeks.
Overall, there is not a single flaw in Page Turner. The story is interesting, deep and intriguing. The acting is amazing, well done and on point. The music is just lovely and wraps the drama up nicely. If you are reading this and have not watched Page Turner, please do so soon.

I feel bad for rating a drama so low because I know that the actors and directors and producers usually put alot of effort in their projects. But I couldn't help myself and I should have known better after seeing the first action scene in the first episode.
So, where to start...
Well, first of all: The drama didn't seem to know what genre it was in. Crime? Suspense? Romance? Comedy? Ridiculous twists? Nothing matched the other. Even if a drama has various genres combined, there should at least be some common vibe during the whole drama. But that wasn't the case.
The plot.
At the beginning it seemed interesting but as it continued it looked like the writers only thought about the next episode but not about the bigger picture. So, everything looked kinda messed up. There were plot-holes and strange behavior by side characters and turns of events that didn't make sense at all. As it went further ahead it just couldn't pull off the excitement and suspense because of all those absurd things that happened as the story continued.
The cast/The acting.
I really, really wanted to give them a chance. It's Park Shi Hoo finally again, dammit. But even he couldn't convince me at at all in the end. His acting wasn't what it used to be back then (That doesn't mean I won't try out other new projects of him though)
I got annoyed by many ridiculous, shallow characters, but most of all by Seo Ahn played by Choi Yoon So. It seemed like she only had one facial expression. She had ALWAYS the same stare. Furthermore, since she was supposed to be the love interest for Baek Shi Hoon (Park Shi Hoo), she had no chemistry with her co-actor. NOTHING.
Choi Chan Gyu was just dump. The actor himself even admitted that he played a dump character who's only good at running. (Well, I'm sure he meant that in a good way. Not me though)
Writer Bae played by Kwon Yu Ri... well, she was average. She had my support regarding a possible love interest but she couldn't keep that up as her character didn't develop at all. But there was definitely more chemistry between her and Park Shi Hoo than with Seo Ahn.
The only one I really, really liked here (among some other side characters) was police officer In Tae Ho (Jo Sung Ha) and his family. All of them were very adorable. He was the only one who actually showed reasonable inner conflicts and a change of heart in the end.
Also, that one bad guy. Yoon Sang Min (Yoon Tae Young) showed more than just one side of him and the actor was convincing in his role.
I'm not blaming all of it on the acting. I'm partly putting the responsibility for the drama's failure on the directing and script. They didn't do a proper job here and they certainly didn't use the full potential of all those (usually) very good actors. There were scenes where they could have shown more emotion whereas in some other moments half of it would have been sufficient.
Action scenes/cinematography:
Bad. Just bad. Camera movements were too shaky. I know that it's also a method to create some mood but in this show it was too much and made the action scenes become either very blurry or just too vivid (not realistic). It also made the fighting scenes look visibly staged or out of focus.
Music:
Well, it wasn't bad but sometimes it was kinda over-dramatized.
Re-watch value.
Not. At. All. Wasted time in my opinion.

from all meaningless and plot less dramas that are airing these days, page turner turns outstanding. there are very few dramas which leaves good message. and if you find them in any case, you should grab it and watch. page turner is exactly that kind.story of this neatly put by Charming92 in his review. i will just add my thoughts regarding the same. you may find vague spoilers ahead. continue reading if you are fine with it.
page turner is exciting one as the name suggests. this has just 3 episodes with plot that could be dragged/ dramatised till 16 episodes. however it is made short thankfully making each episode as good as pilot episode. it makes you crave for more and more. you will fall in love with characters within no time. you will be wondering how these characters grow and settle down.
three leads are interestingly different to each other, so are their parents and upbringing. and so are their back stories. yet all are thought provoking and well established. its totally inspiring to see how they are optimistic about following their path, believing in one self, doing what they love.
as for the ending, i am satisfied with it plot wise. it is realistic and beautiful. Also i can completely understand why ji soo fans could not digest the reality, but i felt so happy for Jin Mok. i was happy that his character is not ignored. but i love these characters so much and i really cant stop myself from wishing to see how characters end up with each other. there are many questions muddling in my brain. of course answers for those are obvious, but i really want to see that with my own eyes and be contented about it. i wish they can extend last episode for 5 more mins. a lttle bit of wrapping would satisfy people like me immeasurably. may be its just me,i dont know, it felt the same after watching reply 1988.
I am in high praise for the actors who did great job here. they all are wonderful and had great chemistry with each other. i really want them to play together in another drama.
all in all, this short drama has more feels that any lenghty drama or movie can have. it glues you to screen and makes you turn page for 2 times ( i.e, Pressing Next Episode Button). I will definetly recommend for everyone.

If you're looking for high ups and downs and or drama after drama after drama, this isn't for you. My Lovely Girl was smooth sailing through romantic waters with little or no trouble. Just the way I love my romance stories. The focus was on the relationship between Yoon Se Na and Lee Hyun Wook. The alternate title was "She's Too Lovely for Me" and all 16 episodes reiterate the struggle Hyun Wook feels that he loves her so much but he's not worthy of her. There was really nothing to take away from that focus so I guess some people would find it boring. I didn't. I didn't skip even a second of it. It was sweet and fluffy and full of romantic moments.
The secondary characters were also interesting for me. I liked Se Na's friend and her bf especially. They were supportive and concerned even while she couldn't contribute much to their household. True friends. L's character was also interesting and sweet. The only thing with L is that I wanted to see the other guys from his ex-band, I wanted to see how they feel now that he outstripped them. Cool L.
I liked everybody in this show. It really was enjoyable and sweet for me.
As I said, if you're looking for waves, and for spikes in emotion, don't look here. If you're just cruising for a straightforward romance more reminiscent of real life, then this is it.
The make lead was protective and sweet to the female lead. He was also much older and very caring. I loved it. Rain did a great job. I never cared for Rain much before this - thought his image was too hyped and I hated Full House because it lacked romance. After watching My Lovely Girl, I can now say I'm a Rain fan. His voice is so smooth heavy. Plus, his character pulled me in. I'm definitely going to watch "Please Come Back Mister" for Rain.
Music: I liked the score very much. It wasn't too memorable, but it suited the scenes it was played in.
Rewatch : Yeah, it's sweet and I like sweet.
Story: The only thing was the somewhat abrupt ending but honestly, I thought they could have ended it in ep 14 with one of the confession/ romantic moments. Everything was said and problems were solved. So by ep 16 at the end, there was nothing left to say to tie anything up since it had all been done before. With that in mind, it wasn't so sudden. Story was lovely. I wouldn't change anything.
In fact, I want more like it.

Just one word to describe this drama.
A huge, shining, sparkling, lovely BROMANCE.
Just like Warrior Baek DongSoo , also know as “A drama that’s basically yaoi but it just fools you with a story of friendship that smells of YAOI), this drama is full of romantic scenes between the two main characters.
I’m not complain on this point but let’s talk about this drama.
The plot can be summarize like this.
A school where bullying is written on students uniforms, right next their name tag.
Different stories, different characters all mixed together like a milkshake to create the perfect and pretty common School drama plot.
BUT, even though it might sounds like a boring school drama, School 2013 is not the case.
Let’s talk about the “”””villain.”””””
You might hate him at first, but after some episodes you just want to pinch his cheeks and bring him home like a lost puppy.
School nowadays is cruel, it ignores student’s problems , thinking that its only job is to bring them safely to their graduation day.
His character’s story was the most touching one. The screenwriter might had think that NamSoon and Heung Soo stories were the best ones , but in my opinion, they just make up too quickly.
But it’s a drama, so everything is allowed.
Supporting characters and Teachers were well portrayed.
BUT, in my opinion, the main star was Jung Ho.
His character was real, with a background story that everyone can actually find even in real life.
If you like bromance, you should watch this.
If you like an open ending, you should watch this.
If you are a person that can cry easily, YOU SHOULDN’T WATCH THIS.

My heart was felt pounding for entirely different reasons:
- The growth of the characters
- The pure and honest depth of the story
- A sense of warming accomplishment communicated by the great acting
With a very easy to follow story that's both believable and motivating, completed by relatable, developing characters whose interactions with each other made me both cry and then grin, Page Turner encapsulates everything a short drama should be.
The story feels mostly predictable but there are certainly twists and surprises! The music is of course fantastic. The acting, I expected no less! And I'd certainly rewatch the whole thing again at some point just to get those butterflies again *cough*andwatchaperkyJiSooagain*cough*. It was a great ride. But be warned, the ending may not be all that you expect it to be.

To begin with, it’s a really intriguing premise that’s really different from your usual Korean drama. So that drew me in almost right away. The show is also peppered with interesting characters who each seem to have a story of their own to tell.
The three lead characters naturally captured my attention the most, especially Kang Do Young, the character played skilfully by Shin Sung Rok. Lee Sang Yoon is smouldering in this show as the grumpy but secretly caring Ha Woo Jin. Kim So Eun puts in a decent performance as the innocent and trusting Nam Da Jung.
I enjoyed the mental gymnastics required of the viewer to figure out what is going on. Although at times I got slightly confused at some of the games and their convoluted rules, the human relationships and betrayals make for great drama and twists and turns in the story. I also liked that romance really wasn’t an important aspect of this show.
At times the story may have edged dangerously close to being a sentimental cry-show as many Korean dramas tend to, but thankfully it did not go there. The story is tightly written, with no huge loopholes, and every story is wrapped and tied up nicely.
On the whole, you can expect a drama full of intrigue, betrayal and excitement, and I am certainly looking forward to a Season 2!
