Story: At first, I was kind of iffy about this drama because I didn't really understand the story as it was presented in the drama, but then afterwards as I continued to watch it, I found the story insanely interesting and I liked how it was presented in a comedic way.
Acting: Rain was amazing. His acting, especially at presenting two characters, was amazing. He presented the character so well especially acting like another character. His humor was also very funny. Oh Yeon Seo was also an amazing actor. She presented the character so well, especially acting girly and like a man all at once. Overall, the acting in this drama was amazing.
Music: The OST was amazing because of the way it was presented in the scenes. It made the scenes livelier than it is.
Overall, this drama was amazing and insanely hilarious. If you're looking for a comedy, but love drama, I highly recommend this one.

Story: The story was amazing. If you're a fan of romance, especailly cheesy romance, this is the perfect drama for you. This drama is military love. If you like to see Song Joong Ki be the cheesy lover, you will fall for him immediately.
Acting: Oh my goodness, the acting in this drama is amazing. Song Joong Ki presented the character so well and made me fall in love with his character instantly. Song Hye Kyo was also amazing, like usual. I watched her in That the Winter Blows and honestly I wasn't a fan of her in that drama, but in this drama she is amazing. She played the character so well and became that worried military girlfriend which made me fall in love with the drama so much because it felt like I was actually there and feeling the emotions she felt too.
Song: The OST in this drama is so lit. Every kiss scene or sad scene, the music matched it to so well.
Overall, the drama was so well done and I highly recommend it to those who are a big fan of romance.

So, yes. This drama was hyped alot and now that it's finished, opinion is deeply divided on this issue. I think the only problem is that the more you label something as perfect, the more you'll get disappointed when it doesn't reach your expectations in the end. You know the saying 'Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.' That perfectly describes what went wrong here. So yes, everyone said it was perfect in the beginning. As it went further, the excitement and hype expanded and many people said it was flawless, so it HAD to be flawless. Not letting in even one mistake.
Maybe it's overrated as some people say. But that doesn't mean it was a bad drama. It was still great and many people enjoyed the ride. Because there WERE great parts in it. Parts that filled us with excitement, with joy, with happiness and with sadness, frustration and anger.
So, what was so great here?
The bromance. Two totally different guys being the best buddies you've ever seen.
The romance. Refreshingly no love triangles, instead you can ship not only one but two couples wholeheartedly and not be afraid of some twists within their relationships as those we have already experienced in other dramas. You can enjoy the sincere feelings, the genuine caring and worrying and loving. There's chemistry between all of them and you can feel that the actors also felt proud to be part of something so special like this. The whole team is complementing each other.
The comedy. You have to admit, you laughed your butts off. Hilarious scenes all over the place.
The side characters (the good guys): It's not the first drama but there aren't THAT many dramas out there, where you actually sympathize with every character that appears in one show. Regarding that, it never gets boring.
The scenery: Not the usual korean areas around here but something new and refreshing. Beautiful landscapes and impressions.
As to where we took a hit: In my opinion it was the story. It wasn't bad. And until reaching a certain point it was quite entertaining. I would have liked it more if there had been one big story running like a golden thread through the whole drama. Not those many smaller stories following one after another - as interesting as they were in their own. But what really created some headaches (at least for me) where some issues that didn't add up to a logical process. And that was what made me kinda disappointed because those flaws were obvious. It seemed like all the effort they built in the beginning subsided towards the end and made some scenes seem ridiculous.
As for the bad guys... Well, that's an issue per se. They weren't that bad. They did a decent job and gave off thrilling moods, although sometimes it seemed a bit overdramatized. Maybe because most of them were foreign villains. And as we all know, foreigners in a korean drama just seem weird most times. Plus the foreign languages. Well, I wasn't really bothered by it. We are happy when they can actually pull that off better than what we'd expect. But we're also not disappointed because that's just the korean 'style'.
The OST was great because it created a unique feeling and beautiful atmosphere for the drama. Definitely on my mp3 list, soon.
So, nevertheless of all the critiques... Descendants of the Sun is by far not the most perfect drama out there. But it still manages to entertain us in many, many ways and often throws us in some big thrilling turmoil, what shouldn't be disregarded. And of course at some point it made us all hooked up.
Although I had some disappointed moments myself, I still enjoyed the drama. I will definitely rewatch this one as I want to re-feel all the emotions I run through during the first watch, but this time without having to wait until next week.

this drama is one of the best dramas of this year, it had everything you would ask for action, comedy, romance......etc
the plot or the story of this drama is new and different from other Korean dramas. The part that i mostly liked about this drama is that they didn't just focus on the main characters, other characters roles had a great impact on the drama.
if you want me to talk about the acting it was one of the best, the chemistry between the cast was so good so there is no problem in the cast "the best"^^.
The music in this drama OMG i cant even say anything. each and every song was good and you will get addicted to them.
overall i recommend you to watch this drama "you will never get disappointed.

Something has to end for something good even it's look so bad.
I think people who can't stay watching this drama to the end it's people who can judge people easily. Yoo Jung looks like a handsome scary psychopath, but he's just wise guy.. And he's incredibly smart i think. He looks cruel, but maybe his way is the best to slap bad people with show them what is the reality.
And maybe at first you see Baek In Ho is just a funny guy who is the really victim. But i was starting think him as the truly bad guy. He was really arrogant, and he shouldn't be like that. Like, who is he can be arrogant like that? So i think bad live that Baek In Ho and Baek In Ha have is really worth it. Like they deserve it.
Kim Goe Eun represent the character really well. I think i like this character than the webtoon version. Everything was so cliche, but realistic cliche i think.
Waiting for 2nd season. I'll spam TVn. There's 2nd season on webtoon, so there has to be 2nd season in TVn.
Please people, open your mind and stop enjoying non realistic drama.

You know those dramas you anticipate but are afraid to watch because you're not sure it would live up to it's hype? KMHM lives up to the hype and surpasses it.
The story was phenomenal. Ji Sung is a very versatile actor and deserves all the awards he got for his work. He's excellent. Aside from him, all of the cast did excellent jobs. You forgot you were watching acting, because it didn't seem like acting. It seemed like true heartbreaking emotions. I sometimes wondered if the actors themselves haven't developed split personalities, they were that good.
Some people complained about the flashback scenes being too much, too repetitive and making parts of the drama boring. I disagree. The flashbacks were numerous, yes, but each was tastefully done and told a different story every time it was shown.
This drama was worth watching. I think I wanted it to be longer, to go into the origins etc of all the different personalities. I felt sorry in a different way for each of them, and it was hilarious how one of them was jealous of the other. Imagine being in a love triangle with you, yourself, and a woman. Seeing the story, developed by the excellent, flawless acting, makes you understand that each and everyone goes through difficult times and not to judge or treat people harshly. It really appeals to your empathy.
The music deserves Best OST. Jang Jae In is my new favourite.
Writer of the script gets 100/10. It was that good.

lead that butts heads with this cool-hearted psychologist. I was really looking forward to a good strategic fight between these two... but then it changed.
Very soon she fitted more the usual too nice and almost naive female lead. I was dissappointed.
But I kept going on because the mood of this drama in general was nice and there were some funny moments. But it got worse... She needed almost the entire show to realize something she should have
realized in episode 2 or 3 and the romantic behaviour between these two became totally erratic, unlogical, unrealistic and many more things. It was really weird.
The last two episodes I had myself to force to watch, that was sad.
I really like the actors, though and the setting and everything else (but the plot).
It is nice for in-between and not a huge disaster or sth like that, but I had much higher expectations after the first episode.

I stayed away from this drama for a long while because of some very bad reviews.
Now that I watched it, it taught me the lesson to not judge a book by its cover...
(and it might have helped that my expectations were not too high)
OF COURSE - this drama is not innovative nor deep nor the king of dramalang.
But seriously - who reads the plot-description and expects it to be? Haven't you
watched at least some of the bazillion cliché romance dramas before?
If you have, then you should know what comes your way.
Agreed, this drama delivers a good roundabout rich douchebag falls in
love with the poor heroine and it does not leave out the bitch, the rowdy guy, the
awful rich family and lots of bullying (and probably some more clichés... was there
the piggyback-ride? I'm not sure).
Hey, but it was totally fine, because when you dive into this, you should be looking
for stuff like that, too.
The acting was fine - I am not a fan of the female lead, but oh well. Her behaviour, too,
was unnerving sometimes, they wrote her character as someone intelligent and decent
but her reactions tended to be flat in many ways. This was the only major "letdown".
If you like the cliché romance stuff with no specific innovations and don't expect much more
than enjoyable entertainment, then this is totally fine.

First of all: It is an entertaining drama. It is worth watching, but it is not stellar.
What surprised me, was that I actually expected (naive of me, I guess), a drama
with lots of military stuff and seriousness.
But it is a total CHICK FLIC :D
This drama gets very cheezy at some points in a weird way, maybe because it
tries to mix romance with serious topics.
The best part about this drama is the humour - it is realistic in a way I am not used to
in K-dramas, I really enjoyed the pranks and funny interactions between the characters
and soldiers. It portrayed humour like everyday people could actually have it.
It was entertaining and I am happy that I watched it. Maybe I will revisit the funny scenes at some
point :)

Queen of Ambition made me feel so many feelings... mostly frustration and anger... and I loved every minute of it!First off, I love villains! I find them fascinating, which makes this the perfect drama for me. I'm also a sucker for a good revenge story. Based on the title alone, I had a feeling about what I should expect, and I still was not at all prepared for all the twists and turns! The lead character goes waaaay beyond normal ambition, and the situations in this drama caused me to yell and curse at the screen so many times. This is a MAKJANG in all caps, and a super addictive one. It caught my interest from the very beginning, and as the story progressed it just kept topping itself. It's part love story, part revenge thriller, and part one woman "House of Cards"! Of course reality police could pick apart every unrealistic moment, but when it comes to melodrama, it doesn't matter if it's unrealistic, it only matters that it works, and everything in this drama works! A large part of the credit for making it all work so well should go to the cast.
I will start with Kwon Sang Woo, who won me over with his lisp, and his admirable back muscles, but most of all made me fall in complete love with Ha Ryu. His heartbreaking character goes through so much during the course of the show, and I believed every moment of it. He did initially seem too old to be college aged in the beginning, but he was such a good actor that I didn't care. He handled romance, tears, action, sweetness, comedy, and tragedy effortlessly. I definitely will check out more of his dramas in the future. I also thought he was a good match for Soo Ae, and it's hard to have a convincing love story with someone so unlikeable.
Now, Just to be clear, this drama's main character is a sociopath. I am not saying that as a spoiler, but as a warning for viewers who may not realize what they are getting into. Soo Ae plays the notorious Joo Da Hae, a name I won't be able to forget for a long time. I can almost guarantee that you will not like her, and I have to give Soo Ae credit for making her so good at being bad. I do have some problems with her performance. I can barely recognize her as the girl from "9 End 2 Outs", which I loved, but that could be because it was a different genre. Her character is closer to her role in "Mask" (same genre) in which she mostly looks zoned out and depressed. I think the depressed stare works for this character too, I mean she is a sociopath, but she would also do this wide eyed deer-caught-in-headlights look constantly throughout the show that would literally drive me insane. I know that part of this type of drama is a small element of over acting, but the rest of the cast managed to be pretty realistic. The entire supporting cast was awesome (including super cute Go Joon Hee, and super hot Lee Jae Yoon), so her bad acting moments stuck out. I also think she missed a lot of opportunities to make her character sympathetic due to her acting, because the writers definitely tried on their part.
The story definitely gets a 10. It starts with a suspenseful moment, and for 23 unpredictable episodes tells you the backstory that lead to that moment, without any real plot holes, and without boring me even a little bit. It's also not all anger and tears, there are funny and touching moments as well, for much needed balance. Then the final episode packs in a lot, without feeling rushed, and without leaving me feeling cheated. The ending also made me ugly cry. I can see how some people may have been disappointed, but I thought it ended things beautifully.
Would I rewatch this? Without the suspense element, the show would lose some of it's appeal, but watching each unbelievable moment again would be entertaining enough.
I would recommend this drama highly, especially to revenge thriller fans, but with a disclaimer. This drama is the complete opposite of happy escapism. This is the kind of love story that will make you want to avoid love like the plague. This is the drama equivalent of driving slowly past an tragic accident, when you know what your are seeing is horribly tragic, but still you can't look away. A good alternative title might be "Oh No She Didn't", or "WTF". If you're ok with this, and can kinda appreciate it when bad guys win, put this drama on the top of your "to watch" queue. The score on MDL definitely doesn't do it justice. Seriously, the 24 episodes will fly by! It's probably best to watch it with someone else, so you can curse at the screen together!
I will definitely have to watch something happier next. The good thing is, most dramas will be much happier in comparison. I was looking for a drama to scratch my melodrama itch, and this definitely did, and more! It will be a nice dark addition to my favorites list.

Holy crap. What a ride. By far one of the most well-written, well-acted, thoughtful, genuine dramas I’ve watched in a long time. ‘Misaeng’ (literary translated to “Incomplete Life”) which can also mean infinite potential, takes its characters on a journey of discovery, as they seek the paths that will lead each to find his or her own place in life and fulfillment. While 'Misaeng' depicts the most ordinary life of office workers, it doesn’t mean that only office workers can relate to it. It shows the viewers the meaning of one’s ‘life’, something that people often take for granted, not realizing that so many around the world are still searching for it. Also, that dreams can come true even when the odds are against you, that family/friendship is the strongest thing you have, and that forgiveness is what can hold you together. Although this drama is, at times, a tearjerker, in the end, you feel you have learned something. Based on these characters and what they’ve been through, you can set your heart and mind to something and accomplish it.
STORY
Based on a slice-of-life drama of a popular webtoon by Yoon Tae Ho. The story follows Jang Geu Rae (translated 'Yes' in Korean), a 26-year-old former Baduk genius who fails in becoming a professional player and gets thrown into the real world. By an acquaintance’s recommendation, Jang Geu-Rae is able to begin to work for the trading company One International as an intern. However, unlike other interns contending for full-time positions, Jang Geu Rae only has a GED certificate, no impressive work experience, no ability to speak foreign languages, and doesn't even know how to use a copy machine. But thanks to his hard efforts and unmatched perseverance he acquired from playing Baduk for more than 20 years, he lands a job as a 2-year contract worker. As the drama progresses, Geu Rae grows in confidence and strength of character; enough to stand up for what he believes in. But, in the end, what gives him the key to solving the problems in front of him were, paradoxically, insights that he learned from playing Baduk.
ACTING/CAST
To me, ‘Misaeng’ is more about characters development than it is about the story-line. With few exceptions, most characters are created with depth and dimension, and each has his or her own backstory. From Oh Sang Sik to Ahn Young Yi, Jang Baek Ki, Dong Shik and the relatively newbie Han Suk Yool, they each create a character that is so memorable and realistic you could see yourself in their shoes or know of someone who are like them. Even the support casts show a very effective performance and manage to bring humanity to otherwise cliché roles. Each had their own road to travel down, and sometimes the roads coincided with others, and sometimes they swerved away. But ultimately, the road of the office worker is an endless horizon of projects, presentations, and promotions. Some may end up taking that less traveled road, but still, the road continues on.
With a perfect ensemble cast, there are so many relationships and groupings that it’s impossible to talk about them all. So here, I’d just like to give my attention to some of my favorite relationships on the drama:
1) Oh Sang Sik/Jang Geu Rae
Oh Sang Sik and Geu Rae are absolutely and without a doubt the OTP of this drama. They pumped the show full of good feelings and when one was having a hard time, you could tell how much it affected the other that they did anything they could possibly do to stop the pain. Despite a bit of a rocky start, the relationship between Oh Sang Sik and Geu Rae grows and blossoms in spite of the odds, and it’s just heartwarmingly satisfying and endlessly gratifying, to see the affection they have for one another. As much as Oh Sang Sik helps and guides Geu Rae through the murky, unfamiliar waters of the corporate world, so does Geu Rae who provoke Oh Sang Sik to stay true to his principles and hold fast to his dreams. And I love that through it all, both Lee Sung Min and Im Siwan are so nuanced, that we can see the dynamic between Oh Sang Sik and Geu Rae growing and developing over the course of the drama, even when not very much is said at all. After all the struggles they’ve been through, it is gratifying to know that they found a place where they can be themselves, uphold their principles, and truly shine. I mean, a workplace with a motto of “We may lose work, but we don’t lose people”, with a boss as protective and supportive as Oh Sang Sik, where do I find thee?
2) The Newbies
All the interns (Jang Geu Rae, Han Suk Yool, Ahn Young Yi, and Jang Baek Ki) just grew into my heart, first individually and then as a group. With differing personalities and work boundaries, our newbies journey toke a long way before arriving at a genuine sort of group dynamic by series’ end. It was really nice, though, to see moments of solidarity and lending hands sprinkled through the show, among members of the group in their various permutations. I think they totally grew together believably where they were able to learn to respect each other and just be friends. Even the friendships within the friendship like (Baek Ki/Geu Rae, Seok Yool/Geu Rae, etc). Having said that, I did appreciate the care the series took in establishing the characters. There is the seemingly flawless female intern, Young Yi, whose exceptional ability as a woman incurs the resentment of her colleagues. Baek Ki a star intern, he was the image of the elite office worker and was my favorite among the newbies. Lastly, Han Suk Yool the fun intern who is a little too flattering to the higher-ups and a little too careless in about the boundaries of others, but he made the group feel alive. I loved his character to the core, because no matter how depressing and sad this drama can be in at moments, his character is right there to make you laugh and cheer you up. I learned a lot from these newbies that I concur with it being dubbed “The Salaryman’s Bible.”
MUSIC/CINEMATOGRAPHY
The soundtrack had a very relaxed type of vibe to it, that it made me feel for the situations, the people even though the environment itself is cold and depressing. It's not the typical high note, out of this world vocal with an intense orchestra playing in the background, but it's arguably the opposite. It's soothing, calm vocals accompanied with the acoustic piano and guitar. You can also get the comedy feel of the quirkiness of the background music as well. The music was one of the things that set this drama apart from others and also a factor into why I love this drama. I absolutely love all of Part 4 from the OST, since acoustic tunes just serenade with me so well. The only problem I have with the soundtrack is that since the plot is the main standout of the series, the music is faded into the background. I also really loved all the little touches that contributed to the aesthetic and feel of the drama – from the changing title cards showing the changing of the seasons, to the little wings of confidence (cameo by Choi Gwi Hwa), the use of imagery in these cases helped to depict the emotions amidst the storyline and engaged the audience even more. The drama certainly didn’t let me down with the cinematography with its carefully chosen muted color palette, understated plotting and thoughtful, deliberate pace, created a believable office world in which we, as an audience, clocked time as Geu Rae’ shadows.
Overall, 'Misaeng' is like watching the truth of any worker's life. It's a bunch of pieces of awkwardness, the hardest moments, the happy feeling when you have done your job, grumpy bosses, the difficulties that woman go through in the office due to marriage, childbirth, and sexual discrimination and harassment, and how staying true to life, their introspection and insights help us laugh at life and face the realities that are often escaped through all other forms of drama. 'Misaeng' shows many aspects of mundane life, but never itself, becomes mundane, taking the viewer on a beautifully poignant, vividly evocative and greatly inspiring journey from start to finish. Initially, it's true that the drama’s structure felt repetitive but in reality, our lives is a repetition as well. With great casting and different characters being protagonists at different instances of the drama, it will outweigh the feeling of repetitiveness. Above all, 'Misaeng' gives hope that relationships in office are not always simply work-related as 'work friends', it can also be bond together. To me, that's the true love-line in 'Misaeng'. It doesn't need to over-complicate the drama of the characters' lives, has no use for surprising betrayals; it actually lays most things out on the table for us. Why? Because 'Misaeng' wasn’t a drama, it was life. This drama is hands down the best drama I’ve seen and rightfully has earned a spot in my 'Forever Favorites' list. No other drama has spoken to me in such a real way. In the end, Misaeng certainly gave another small unexpected fragment to the missing pieces of my 'incomplete life'.
FINAL SCORE: 11/10. A big 'YES' from me! MISAENG is the 2014 drama and props to tvN for producing it and to the cast for the superb performances. I believe this is a drama that leaves a viewer of any demographic something to take away, I'd urge anyone reading this to give it a try.
