hard life of high school girl

The movie is better then i though. I was expecting a B level movie made just for the message or the practice of some new talents, but i found the message of the movie very compelling and the final production was not bad at all. The actors were decent (even though the extras were funny entering and exiting the scene to try to make it more believable), the story had more dimensions with side characters and there were some very emotional moments, especially the last scene where ... oh, no spoilers.
The movie is a high-school drama and a tragic death mystery. The mystery elements serve the story well, slowly revealing more information and so increasing the interest until the end. I was especially attentive since i saw it without english subtitles and had to concentrate to understand some dialogue but certainly i missed few things due to not being able to understand everything. so if you'll give this movie a try, stick with it until the end.

I get it... but I don't

This piece of beautiful cinematography reveals some important flaws of the society that we live in but also shows how a specific part of it is suffering without us even knowing.
I liked that it showed something raw and real without focusing on the bl part which actually came pretty natural. The chemistry between the actors seemed pure and I loved that. They really managed to express difficult emotions.
On the other hand it seemed to me that it was one of those films where 'nothing happens' but it actually does. The plot looked like it was going nowhere so I was a little confused as I was watching it.

The ending didn't sit right with me and I was hoping to find someone here who I can talk about it but I am the first review so feel free to talk to me.

One of the best romantic movies

It's a high school love story. Heartwarming in the end. It shows the friendship of people. A really beautiful, cute, sweet, sad love story. It is not a romantic comedy type of movie. It shows the beauty and sadness of teenage love.

It is one of the best romantic movies I have ever seen.

Waste of potential

Never before have I seen a movie with such unnecessary plot holes and honestly, this required a full 16 length drama runtime.
Nothing was explained. I originally thought that the villain is a demon but it turns out that he is just some dude? The female mc is the most useless person I’ve ever seen. She doesn’t do much the entire story and I’m not sure why she even exists.
The male mc’s past was undeveloped as hell. The fight sequences were pretty nicely done I feel though.

Overall, required way more attention to the characters and nothing made any sense.

This movie is different from what I watch usual but hell, it got me seated on a different level.

We dive right into the story. The scenes change quickly, there is key scene after key scene. The built up is incredible and while I understand that it's confusing, it's just so so so well done, exactly because it's so confusing. For me, it was personally hard to understand when they acted for the play, and when it was them outside of their role, but I think that's exactly what they wanted to achieve. Just like the lines blurred for the actor and the idol, they also blurr for us, the audience.

It's really thrilling, exciting and has some twists I didn't expect. I was holding my breath, gasping and squealing, because the movie was so captivating. The psychological part is just outstanding.

It leaves a lot of room for interpretation and in my opinion, movies like this, live from this aspect. They are good, because they leave you behind, hella confused of what you watched right now. What happened? Is this, what you believe, real? Was this the intention of the movie makers? These questions show me, that it was well done, because it wouldn't have such an impact, if you wouldn't ask yourself all of this.

I would totally recommend this movie. Like I said, normally I use to watch different dramas, but I love psychological aspects too and things that just blow your mind and leave you speechless and confused behind. The acting was perfect and the music supports the scenes well. Here and there some things could have been explained a liiiittle bit better (I didn't really understood the whole storyline of the play they acted for, but I think, to achieve a certain level of mindf*ck, you have to leave some things open to be questioned and not fully understandable), but overall they did a fantastic job in making a movie that just messes with your mind. The feeling they transferred with this movie is just the same as the roles in the movie feel. Like: is it still acting? What did the characters really do? What do they feel? The questions are not answered for the characters, just like they are not answered for the audience.

It's just fascinating and fits the whole atmosphere of the movie. I was so immersed into the story and the characters and geez, really, this acting was so so so freaking good. I can't mentioned it enough. Its truly impressing.

I also recommend to read other reviews and comments for the show, because I am simply to overwhelmed, to put my feelings properly into words. :'D

I will now share my Interpretation to the story, so don't read further if you didn't watch the movie yet, expect you want to read the spoiler.

For me, personally, I go with the interpretation that Young Woo out-acted Jae Ha. Just like Singer tried to surpass Walter, but failed, he tried to surpass Jae Ha, but succeeded. He blurred the lines for Jae Ha so much. Jae Ha is known for getting lost in his roles, and this is exactly what happened here, while YW was just playing into it. You can often see him smirking, which, I think, shows, that he's just playing with Jae Ha. He acted like he doesn't know shit and doesn't care about the play (in the beginning, being too late, having problems with lights etc) just to give Jae Ha a false feeling of being superior. And than YW pushed Jae Ha even deeper into the role by making him believe he really did something to his girlfriend/wife. That's what the audience should believe too. You really think YW is becoming Singer and I really thought he would actually kill himself, lol. Because it was just so well done and I totally bought his behavior as being real. He tricked everyone. What also comes to my mind is the finger he left behind at the end. As far as I understood, Singer kept the finger, because he's in love with Walter and likes to hold his hand. Leaving the finger behind, is like letting go of Walter. YW leaving the finger behind, left the impression, that he also left Jae Ha. He's know done with the play and moves on, because everything was just method acting. While Jae Ha got so much immersed, that the lines blurred and he struggles to differentiate everything. As he saw the finger, he wanted to pick it up, but decides to leave it on the floor. As if he decided to let also go of Walter. In the next scene, he is returning to his girlfriend and the eye acting leaves the impression, that she is hurt, but also understands him (she mentioned before, that Jae Ha gets lost in his roles everytime, so it's not new for her) but she loves him and waits for Jae Ha to get out of the role of Walter, while Jae Ha looks defeated. He looks so tired and also as if he regrets something, but finally decides to go with her and leave everything behind, to move on. I just love all those little details.

Edit: With "regret something" i probably meant that he regrets that he got lost in his role again, to got too immersed in the feelings and probably also that he trusted YW to a certain point. I think he realized that YW was just acting and he regrets that he fell in his trap, although he should've known better, but got lost in the role/the feelings, as usual. And he didn't just let go of Walter, when he decided to leave the finger behind, but also of YW.

Diamond in the rough....

Everything you need to know about this short movie is actually written in comments.

It is a story about three high school best friends, two boys and a girl, discovering their sexuality. Awkwardly. One boy and a girl are dating while the other boy is quietly pining. Until one day the couple fights and are comforted by the other boy. Separately. It is also evident that the three of them are in love with each other.

The story is nothing new but it fits the short movie format perfectly. Under the burning summer sun, the three are feeling hormones raging and emotions that are difficult to put in words. The editing is choppy: it goes back and forth, second half of the movie being actually the first one but with extended scenes. It is a bit difficult to follow the timeline but thanks to the wardrobe changes it is pretty quickly clear what the director is doing. The cinematography is nice, all the warm tones of reds and maroon.

The actors are for once human looking. Very young but real and not the polished sort of usual thai bls and therefore making the story even more impactful and poignant. The scene that I found the most amazing was the wordless confession between two boys: everything was said through looks, intense gazes. Just beautiful.

The ending is a cliffhanger, open. The three of them realize they'd betrayed each other and now they have to decide where to go from there. I like to imagine them staying together, all three of them and not only as friends. That would be a perfect solution....

Simple movie with a weak love story and an easy murder mystery to solve

Netflix little blurb on this movie states " Romance, mystery and mayhem unfolds aboard a luxury liner heading for the Agean Sea, when a butler and a passenger try to solve a baffling murder.' With that little blurb as well as when I saw it being advertised, I took the opportunity to watch it today. And... well...it just did not live up to the expectations.

Now, other murder mysteries that I watch, I just don't know who done the dirty deed. But I kid you not, LITTERALLY halfway through this movie, I realized who the murder was. I mean, another murder mystery that I watched some months ago, I And besides finding that out, I really did not like how some of the customers treated Ubukata. Like they could have appreciated him a bit more. And out of all the supporting character, I only really liked the kid- he seemed to have more common sense and a better grasp to like that the ML.

And then all the thing that Mr. Kuruma Michihiko and his wife did (making it look like Mr. Kurma was alive for so long until they announced he was dead, pushing down Sakumoto Kanatolike's mom like that after she found out the truth. Like they also should have been arrested and locked up until they returned to Japan. And well, the romance really was not as strong as I was expecting it to be. I mean, it was okay. Just not mind- blowing.

So, in the end I give this movie a 6.5. It had an interesting storyline that just wasn't formulated in an exciting way. The actors were okay (especially the young actor who plays Sakumoto Kanatolike).

"You have your one chance, you don't get a second"

Legend of the Wolf marked Donnie Yen’s first official directorial credit. He was also a writer, martial arts director, and producer for it. The action was fast, furious, heads flying, and blood spurting violence, briefly interrupted with a blossoming friendship and old love.

When a young man discovers the legendary Wolf is still alive, the Wolf’s associate, Wai, takes him to the old man. Ben Chan wants him to kill someone. Before the Wolf agrees, he tells the eager youth that he has to listen to a story…Not long after WWII, Fung Man Hin stumbles across Brother Wai in a run-down village on his journey to find the Seven Saints Temple. Wai and the villagers decide to con or steal as much money from the stranger as they can. On the way to the temple the two men are attacked by machete wielding bandits. Man Hin dispatches them, saving Wai’s life in the process. Later, Man Hin takes on several bandits at the temple and is wounded in the process. Wai carries Man Hin to a shack where Wai Yee attends him and just happens to be the woman who has been waiting for him for seven years. Her lover has no memory of her for he is suffering from the old trope of amnesia. When the worst gang of bandits led by Ben Lam arrive at the village looking for him all hell breaks out and deadly secrets are revealed.

Legend of the Wolf was decidedly low budget. Most of the fights took place in the woods or by the ocean much like an old school Taiwanese kung fu flick. The few buildings were scarcely standing. The story, especially the romance, was ill developed. Because he couldn’t remember Yee, it came across one-sided. His past and Yee’s with the bandits was glossed over. Instead of a grand romance, the writing pointed to the fact that she was a completely devoted girlfriend and disposable character. The quickly developed friendship with an energetic Dayo Wong as Wai was better developed than the romance.

Yen tried to make the film artistic in the present time, utilizing blue, green, and red lights to highlight every scene with different camera angles. Whether in the present or the past he kept the camera up close so that you could count every pore on an actor’s face, even during fight scenes. The exception to the rule was the earliest fight which was filmed in the dark leaving much to the imagination. By having considerable amounts of the movie's action filmed up close, most of the hits and kicks were shrouded. He also over cranked many of the fights causing the movements to fly by in fast motion. When Donnie wasn’t fighting, the action was abysmal, the kind of fights almost anyone could look like a martial arts expert the way they were edited.

There were some unintentionally funny scenes. When Donnie was chasing down the bandits and hit two rocks at them several guys fell down. The same thing happened when he threw a bamboo stick. One bandit used a revolver that obviously held 6 bullets, but could shoot 20 times before needing to reload! The last few fights were better than some of the others, but were still filmed too close to catch the full moves. Ben Lam belonged to Jackie Chan’s stunt team which should have freed Yen to show the fight from enough distance to capture all the moves, but too often the hits and kicks were obscured with the camera practically sitting on their noses. There were segments of the fights that were highly entertaining when they weren’t blurred or sped up. Something I haven’t seen before in a kung fu movie was Donnie using a machete like a rock and skipping it across a creek. A purely shallow viewpoint---Donnie looked lean and mean and cut to shreds as he fought the bandits.

Legend of the Wolf wasn’t a horrible first directorial attempt, but it tried to be more than it was and failed. Donnie Yen is nearly always entertaining to watch, but this film might be more for fans of the genre and era as long as they set the bar low going into it.

The story is, of course, very touching, but the dialogue and acting are stiff and theatrical at times (especially the doctor) and the film is very jumpy, the editing is not smooth at all, it goes from scene to scene sometimes without a proper transition, sometimes it felt like I was watching a storyboard: scene A, now scene B, now scene C, etc., which I think it's mostly the low budget's fault.

I appreciate how the film didn't include a romantic storyline, because that's the one thing about the drama I was never a big fan of, but if you have to choose between the drama and the film, I definitely think the drama is the better option. It flashes out Aya's life more properly, her goals, friendships and family, while the film, because of its short runtime, focus more on the progression of her illness, ignoring her life prior to the diagnosis.

Just watch the cheating scenes on social media. The creep factor is too high.

Here's the thing. I actually really enjoyed the plot and the plot scenes. It rather reminded of US films "Max Keeble's Big Move" and "Sydney White." "Sydney White" the most (and yes, I know Sydney White came later. I'm not claiming it's a remake or inspired by or anything like that). Instead of a stuck up sorority though, the leads in this movie are going against an immoral professor who sees a certain group of students as not only useless to society, but a thorn in his side in the way of getting what he wants. He sets an extremely high bar and promises that it's the ONLY way for the leads to be able to keep their dormitory and stay in school. That bar: all A's across all exams for all the students of that group. Even if they had been traditionally good students, this is a bar with too high of a fail rate. Their solution and perceivable only chance at success? All of them cheat on all the exams.

The cheating scenes are so enjoyable and humorous. I loved them and even replayed a few of them.

But that's the thing. That is all this movie has good to offer. And you can find all these scenes on social media without having to resort to sitting down for this.

Because the cheating scenes and the over the top villain are not the only comedic tools in this film's arsenal. No. In between all these plot scenes is creepy sexual humor. Every male character (you know, except the main male lead that pushes the plot forwards) is so creepily interested in the female lead. Teachers goggling her bare legs. A dormitory manager supposedly drugging her food in the hopes of her seeking him out that night. A whole group of guys getting into her bath water after she leaves to "taste" her. A predatory staff member making sexual advances on a student in order to get information from him about the cheating ring. The students being strip searched for cheating answers, and then getting peeped on and walked in on before they get dressed again.

In essence: the appeal is the plot (aka the cheating scheme), but everything in between just puts a very bad taste in my mouth that left me disgusted. Perhaps this was funny when the movie released, but it didn't age well at all.

Captivating short stories and beautiful music

Love seeing Han Seung Yun acting, and even better because his role is a singer, too, so there are a few scenes with him singing so wonderfully. It was a great performance.

There are 3 main stories, each visually pleasing with its countryside backdrop. They'll tug at your heart without being overly emotional.

Really, the best part is the music. I have the OST album on repeat for months!

Others might find the time jumps in the way the movie was shown to be confusing, and certain scenes to be long and irrelevant, though, but I understand they're part of its beauty in relaying a glimpse of each character's life.

"그새끼들 뒤졌어" ?

Another movie dedicated entirely to school bullying and bloodshed.
The guys form such a wholesome prison band by the end showing that both of the main characters found something in their lives. Unfortunately, instead of exploring the characters traumas all they do is break each other's faces all the time. Pathetic. The climax fight was nowhere near climax either. Neither rhythmically nor choreographically.
To smoothen it out a little bit, Woo Sol and Do Hyeon laugh about the sharks in the final scene "그새끼들 뒤진 거야". That's it, the end.

omfg THIS FILMMMM

TOP TIER. SHE'S JUST THAT GIRL.
The starting point with the robbery in the convenience store hooked me from the start. I was so interested on the female lead since I saw her.
After that scene, I admit is was kind of difficult to get the hang of the plotline but it was worth the wait.
The exploring of a human trading network plus other mafia business is really good, it was well reflected, and I really liked the antagonist's behavior. The antagonist was antagonisting.
The VFX and the action scenes are so well produced and it was so realistic, and the skills of the female lead are REALLY GOOD. The kid who was a slave also worked, but I have a problem. She didn't influence much on the film and her role could've been more useful if it had more thought, and if we didn't do any changes, I would've left her aside from the film.
The fights between the protagonist and the antagonist are the best, and the finishing scene just added more to the score, burnong hom was such a good idea, even more about what he mentioned about the ballerina's body. And her finishing phrase was the cherry on top.

The entirety of the film gets a 9/10. It would be a 10 if in the start I didn't loose the plot, and the music is improvable, but it has to do with the theme. The revenge is there and it makes sense. And those who say that she has no motive, that means you didn't get the film. She was taking revenge on her friend's side, and the female lead did so well while so. I do not get the ones who hate this film.
I never wrote a review this long. This says a lot about how much I loved this film.
And, sorry if you find any typos.

̶S̶o̶ ZO Good

With its beautifully designed suits, fun to watch practical effects including moments of stop-motion, and foreboding atmosphere, this really feels like it hearkens back to the feeling the Original 13 episodes of classic Kamen Rider Ichigo. I love the tone of this one - the unsettling atmosphere and the insurmountable feeling of the main villain of this special gives it a action-horror feeling all to reminiscent of 70's anime OVAs. There's a single-take action shot in this movie that's done beautifully. The soundtrack is energetic when it needs to be and really exciting. I really wish that this movie had a longer run time, just because I'd like to have had some more opportunities to see the main character's struggle. However, what's here is a good and classic Kamen Rider feeling movie with an added grittiness in a short burst.

Absurd way to express your love

This is not the weirdest or grossest movie, which I've ever seen. It's just "Japanese". The guy doesn't tell to his boyfriend, what's his problem, but the boyfriend of course knows there's something is not fine. And when he realized that his boyfriend has a hair loss, he just started to lick his hair while he's having a bath...
I think the message is about no matter what's your illness is, I love you the way you are. It's sure an absurd way to express your love to your beloved one, but the essence is the expression of love.

And if I think of the movie like this, I don't think it's bad. The amateur camera usage is much rather problematic. Like a home made video... It's not acceptable for a movie, no matter how short it is or how beginner the staff was. That's basic.

Otherwise, who's that person, who never did anything weird with their beloved person in their private sphere? It's just got a publicity.
