I mean this story is crazy!Good points:
- Beautiful actors (lol), cute Hae Jin and Boong Do is totally a "player".
- The story isn't too heavy, but not too simple as well.
- The last episode was so sad (OK might be weird to someone who watched it but to me it's sad).
- Perfect chemistry, a lot of romantics.
- Good timing. It's short, 50 mins per ep and only 16 eps.
- It keeps me stay the night (I mean it's really interesting I can stay up till 2:00 AM to watch it through)
Shame points: (Contains a little spoiler)
- How the hell could Boong Do receive the call? (In the last episode) I know it was a melodrama afterall but at least it has to be explained. I don't just accept facts though, I want to know how the facts come.
Overall: I freaking enjoyed it. This is a drama that I can keep my patience.
Bonus comment:
If you haven't watched Rooftop Prince, I recommend you to watch it.
I know I shouldn't compare these two, but the first thing I have to say is both have the same style of storyline but Rooftop Prince is a bit heavier while Queen In Hyun's Man has a more perfect couple.
(Maybe because I didn't like the ending of Rooftop Prince...)

The plot revolves around a psychological battle between two very strategic officials. One being Liu Bowen (protagonist) portrayed as an intelligent military strategist and the other Hu Weiyong (antagonist) portrayed as a cunning chancellor who work all his efforts into over throwing the kingdom. The interesting aspect about the plot is that only these two know the true identity of one another and they vow to take the other down.
This series can be described as a historical wuxia with many twists and turns. For each story, there is a mystery with a bigger picture behind it and is unraveled at a slow but masterful pace. Keep in mind that this was produced in 2006 and also if anyone has ever watched a wuxia series in the early to mid 2000 and even before that, you will know that the editing of the 'magic' and supernatural powers aren't very realistic but I think that is one of many enjoyable aspects of wuxia no matter how real or fake it is.
The series is very fun and mind boggling to watch because each story introduces a lot of new characters and entertainment value. The acting is very good for what the series is worth, you can also see character growth as the series progress and there is a lot of meaningful morals to be learnt. I will say again that I did watch this series over a long period of time since I was little (over years) and it has taught me value(s) such as justice and seeing the right or wrong.
Overall, I recommend this series, give one story a try and see if you want to continue because I know how time consuming it is to even watch a 20 or so episode series. I hope you enjoy and I hope this has helped you a bit. .^

The drama is about a quirky, clutzy office girl with a heart of gold who changes a cold CEO of a consulting company into a warm loving man again. Its what I label as a "feel good" drama. Loved it so much, I'm watching it again. Aaron Yan is sooo damn hot! Ost is fantastic, I can't stop listening to "Unstoppable Sun" all day long.

NO Spoiler in this review What's not to like about it?! Nothing seriously..In my opinion it`s far and away from many ridiculous very cliche K-dramas that i have seen so far and one of so many reasons i liked this one a lot because it does not have the ridiculous BREAK UP WITH GIRL NO.1 GO BACK TO GIRL NO.2 Or Male/Female EX suddenly appears or returned back from America and again Break up/ reconcile Break up/ reconcile over and over and over again Until the show end.. Makes you feel Very frustrated. Thankfully This Drama was not like that, Not even close,i am not saying there is no cliche plot here No because there is but i won`t mention because it might spoil the show, why is it so hard to keep angst away from the main couple relationship with each other,This was the only drama i watch with 2 lead couple with stable relationship without stripping the show from enjoyment and excitement( Lee Tae Gon) and (Yoon Jung Hee) chemistry was just perfect, their relationship was built realistically from the first episode..Strangers to friends to very close friends to semi lovers to real lovers,They are mature and always Loyal and understanding of each other no matter what happens.why Not make all drama couples like that why!!!!
85 episodes is the longest K-drama i have ever watched and I thought I would be bored but i was not,In the middle of the series it gets more interesting and plot gets more exiting...Slow yes it is but still it kept me on the edge of my seat, felt like watching a thriller not romantic family drama.
I liked Lee Ja Kyung relationship with her Biological Mother Ji Young Sun and how her mother cared a lot for her when she found her, all of their scenes was sad and very heartwarming
There Is No evil/Bad Mother in law here if you read the plot summary you will understand why but Hey if you like these kind of things do not give up yet because there is still an annoying Evil/Bad Grandmother in law.
If you start watching the series be careful, the Character here sure imagine a lot of things some of it funny some is sad some is bad some is good some overly ridiculous, don`t be fooled multiple times like i did and confuse reality as imaginary and Vice versa,I hated this Thing at first but then i discovered it`s the reason why i was able to predict what will happen next only a few times but later i tried but failed and i like that.
It was an amazing drama ,cried a river at a lot of scenes while watching it ,felt compassion with Characters who did not even deserve it. Enjoyed it to the max,it received high rating but it`s underrated on this site only 35 users here watched it till now..many people ignore long dramas but if you`re looking for realistic, very romantic family melodrama with many interesting characters and mature lead couple who trust each others and don't make stupid childish decisions or bicker and misunderstand each other over stupid matters.. then You should definitely give this one a try.
Characters:
(Lee Tae Gon)
Male lead,I liked his acting some of The romantic-cute scenes with the female lead was supposed to be awkward but thanks to their chemistry and his natural acting it was not..could not keep my eyes of them the whole series.. They become one of my all time favorite couple in K-drama.
his like the female lead fortunately he is mature he treat and respect his stepmother like his real mother,he is a bit more childish than Lee Ja Kyung
(Yoon Jung Hee)
while watching The first episode i thought she is a weak female lead but I was wrong despite being an orphan with a tiresome life with a greedy Foster mother,Living with Family who are not related to her at all and jealous second female lead (Wang Bit Na) who always disrespect her, she was hardworking, smart, strong ,determinant with her decisions, acts like a grown up women, very cute and she can be bitchy too slaps and drags people and Threat and Says NO when she wants to.
(Han Hye Sook)
Lee Ja Kyung Biological Mother and Gu Wang Mo Stepmother...Now This is the Character who in my opinion hold the whole plot in her hand, without her there will be No (Dear Heaven) I do not want to write much about her because it will spoil the enjoyment of the show.
(Jo Yeon Woo)
The second male lead,This actor`s Fans might be disappointed to be honest he is not really a main character and his role was not very important here he got few screen time through all 85 episodes, probably even less than other Supporting cast.
(Wang Bit Na)
The second Female lead has a naive and weak personality but her bitchy and arrogant attitude toward the female lead or anyone who she thinks out of her league covers that for her,I disliked her most of the show, she is in love with Gu Wang Mo and tries her best to earn his stepmother`s approval to be his Girlfriend/wife ...Yeah Keep trying Girl.
(Kang Ji Sub)
The second female lead`s Brother, his acting is great he takes the role of a feminine young man,he is the joke of the series..his portrayal of feminine man was natural he did not over do it.i thought he is like that in real life at first but it turned out it was just his role,he is hilarious and funny.
(Yoon Jung Hee),(Lee Tae Gon),(Han Hye Sook),(Jung Hye Sun) and (Ban Hyo Jung) Those 5 are the most important Characters in the drama.
The Ending:
Great Ending ,NO one want to watch 85 episodes drama just to end it with stupid open or tragic ending.
Sorry for my English

So this drama is, first and foremost, very brave: it takes a topic generally considered yawn inducing - and conceited - and builds upon it one of the cleverest, suspenseful plot I've had the fortune to watch. Because the topic intrigued me, I approached this drama expecting to be intellectually swept away. What I wasn't prepared for, was to have my feelings deeply involved too. This drama is clever, yes, but it's emotionally intense and moving too.
Truth be told, in the beginning I was so confused by the trillion characters, names all sounding the same and genealogy tree that for a moment I thought I had suddenly become an idiot. Should you happen to experience the same, please don't despair: this is like a pile of jigsaw puzzle tiles thrown at you all at once that you start putting together. Once you have glimpsed the main picture, the rest follows on its own. I haven't found a single dull moment in the 24 episodes. I enjoyed the sometimes long political dialogues and didn't want to miss a word. I enjoyed the steadfast growth of each character and the relationship between them all, the marvelous setting, the wuxia-like sword fights.
Mostly, I enjoyed the portrayal of a great King, which naturally leads me to the acting. Among the brilliant performances of all, Han Seok Kyu shines his own light. I was sad to see Song Jong Ki go, as he delivers a great act of a young and fearful king who grows a backbone, but it's his older version I came to love, admire and enjoy the most. Second in my personal enjoyment chart is, hear hear, So Yi/Dam. By general consensus, a female character is considered strong when she opposes the rules, or when she can kick and fight. So Yi's strength, however, is in the brain, which she uses to comply with the rules, instead of opposing them. Shin Se Kyung embodies intelligence and courage in a very calm and effective way. Loved her to bits. Our third lead is the bridge between the passionate vision of a King and the idealism of the woman he loves. His common sense and simple views on life are a paramount addition to the dynamic and while he undergoes a major change throughout the drama, he stays consistent to his nature till the very end.
A character/actors review would be incomplete without the villains. There are moments when you may question who the villains really are. Their motives aren't wrong in the grand scheme of things, but idealism alone won't win a war and their methods go from arguable to unacceptable, mixed as they are with political greed, blind loyalty or personal grudge. Kudos to all the actors, though, for making me love to hate them.
I don't think the music is the strong trait of this drama. It has a few instrumental pieces and a couple of songs which are neither a disturbance nor a feeling magnifier. I must admit, however, that a couple of pieces are quite haunting, as I found myself humming a tone or two while doing totally unrelated things. Whether this is because they were used too often or because they were good, I don't know.
I've long debated about the re-watch value. I don't see myself sitting through the whole drama again in the near future, mostly because a well crafted thriller lingers in the memory much longer than a simpler plot. Ironically, its high quality makes this into a one-time experience. Which doesn't mean I won't go back to it when a considerable time has lapsed. It's an intense journey I recommend to everyone who's ready to invest a good dose of concentration in a drama.

The cast is mostly good. I started this because of Shin Sung Rok. My mistake. Even he couldn't save this drama.
Music would get on my nerves at times.
I will never watch this again.
I do not recommend this drama even to seaguk lovers.

Starting from music and direction: The music is always introduced at the right times, and although some footage is not just enjoyable, because of movements perhaps a bit 'too fast, has not ruined anything. I gave a half past nine to music, touching and sweet. I love ost.
With regard to the actors: Impeccable.
Characterization gives the characters: I caraterizzati well and each of them has a personality fresh and credible. Some are a bit 'weird, others perhaps a little' too blunt ... Some, again, you would not think "But he's an idiot?", Yet it is these moments that make you realize how much realism managed to give the actors and creators.
History: History enjoyable to follow, not boring. Do you take a lot.
It 'was my first drama, and I consider myself lucky. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is my second review for a Chinese historical drama, I'm glad it's for ''Legend of Lu Zhen" and what's more a drama with my dear Zhao Zanilia, she's absolutely gorgeous and I think I could watch anything with her .The story is pretty good , and it's easy to follow Lu Zhen and Gao Zhan's journey even if it's not all rosy for them as they constantly fight for their love and for being happy like any other couple.
My review will be a bit long , I only wanna say what I think about this drama : the good/ bad points and my opinion about the characters because there are so many good and evil ones here.
1| Good Points :
-The cinematography is absolutely stunning , and I think that everyone would agree with me on that aspect, I love taking Screeshots , and for this drama I had many opportunities to do that and then contemplating those awesome landscapes and gardens in the palace .
-I have nothing to say about the acting , all the actors did their part , the ones that are supposed to be evil are really evil and we hate them so much that we only want to see them dying in atrocious sufferings because that is the only thing they deserve , as for the good ones I wanted to see them rise and stand for themselves ( is not it, Lu Zhen ? ) .
-The show is really addictive between ep 25-54, I was completely glued to my screen and always wanted to watch the next ep , so for that I have no complains even if there are certain things that bothered me .
-The main couple : Oh this Gao Zhan , he is such an admirable man who did everything to show his love for his dear Lu Zhen he was not afraid to claim his love for her , only at the beginning he was hesitant because he was afraid that Lu Zhen's safety would be compromised .
-Lu Zhen , I really admire this girl who was able to climb the ladder very fast ( of course she had many supporters without whom it would not have been possible but she was a smart girl and because of that she succeeded in everything she did ) , my only problem with her is her naiveness , how is it possible to believe everyone and think that from one day to the next they became reliable , I just say No No No !
2| Bad points
-Too many schemes in this palace and always the same who suffer greatly .
-Too many deaths , of course in this kind of drama it is unavoidable but that was so rushed , and it always makes me laugh when a character dies for the sake of friendship , but of course that's only a fiction so we forget about it .
-Characters that are overly obsessed with something that is not their property.
-Music , it was always redundant , come on ! Nothing striking and that's a pity , because in Historical dramas the ost is supposed to have a significant place and makes the scenes more memorable or I would say more captivating but that was not the case here !
-Men are not enough represented in this drama and that was really missing , yes I'm a gurl and of course that bothered me ;D But in counterpart we have 3 adorable and faithful men , so I'm fine with it .
As for characters I'll go to the essential . And be careful it can contain spoilers , I'm not the type who can write a review without spoiling , so I'm warning you !
\\\\\\\\There are so many great characters who made the drama more appealing and interesting , of course I loved the main couple , how they trusted and cared for each other , that was simply great to watch . I was always smiling when they were together because it was full a passion and it felt so real ! But actually there are other characters that were shining and even more than Lu Zhen because they were complex and really well written and the one that comes to my mind right now is none other than the wonderful Huan Yun, she's such a great woman full of hartred at the beginning but she grew up to becoming a beautiful woman with a big heart , she started to understand the man who is next to her since forever and I think that's why she bacame the understanding Empress we got to see at the end . I would lie if I say that I did not hate her but it was only in the beginning when she was crazy and did not wanted to face the reality .
I particularly like the emperor , how he is nothing like his horrible mother , such a gentle man always willing to give a hand to the ones that are worth of his help , he is also the most caring husband I've ever seen in dramas , and for that he goes to my all time favorite supporting actors ! I also loved his friendship with Lu Zhen he was so protective of her , helping her as much as he could because he was aware of her true value.
Of course , Shen Jia Yan was among my favorite characters too , I was happy to see a man like him around Lu Zhen .
So I talked about the 3 main guys , they were all fantastic and I remember the first time I saw Shen Jia Yan I screamed with joy, I was so happy seeing another MAN in this drama full of women , oh my what a relief !
I aslo have to talk about Dan Niang because she's like me , always eating pastry , and talking about it , she only needed to have her daily pastry and there are days I feel like it too , if I have my candies nothing else matters to me ^^
I also have a thought for Wang Xian who was like Huan Yun and became an admirable woman , Du Si Yi the most reasonable woman of all , the Gugu the best confident ever and so on …
For the evil characters I won't say much because I truly hated them , Ah Bi comes first you know in whole dramaland the girl I hate the most is Zheng Er from Lan Ling Wang and Ah Bi is next to her when it comes to harm other without regret . And the other villains are hardly worth mentionning.////////
So This is a drama I will only recommend for those who don't care about watching a drama that shows cruelty in all its different states and who are not looking for some sweet romance , but it's enough to read the synopsis and you'll definitely know if it's for you or not .
Oh and I almost forget to thank my dear friend DragonA. who watched this drama with me ^^
As for rewatching value I would gladly rewatch ep 25 to ep 54 as they were really addicting , according to my opinion .
I just have few words to say about my rating , I hesitated between 8 and 8.5 because I found the drama to be very captivating but there are so many things that seemed very strange at least for my taste so I decided to be 100% objective and give a proper rating .

It's essentially the story of how one turns from being a money-hungry, materialistic monster into one who has been changed through true love and recognition of what is truly important in life. The transformation is something you'll see through the episodes gradually and you'll gnash your teeth when the male lead is thrown aside without a care in the world. But, you'll clap your hands and jump on the couch when the ending comes... but I'll leave that to you to see for yourselves as the story unfolds.
You won't regret watching this...go on, give it a whirl!

Therefore, he gave the role a certain spunk and coolness that not many male actors could possibly do, even today. He gave hairdressing glamour and style! Of course, the ending was a teeny weeny bit far-fetched...but it was probably something that finished off the story and gave it the fantasy ending that made the drama the success it was at the time. Watch it!

In itself, the story is good for what it was at the time. I think it could be done much better with today's technical advances, but it was quite a story at the time. I thought the supporting actors, namely, Ryu Si Won, could have developed his character more, expressed his emotions more; there was some crying involved in most episodes and some of the actions could have been less stereotypical, but it was an OK drama for the era it was produced.
Most of the actors/actresses have improved their performances since then, so this was a satisfactory attempt. You could spend some time on this if you really have nothing to do on a long vacation, if not, try watching something else.

The scenes were done in a realistic setting, and the cast really seemed to know their medicine (from a layman's point of view). However, the supporting cast, especially Lee Pil Mo was my favorite. His cool demeanor and constant long face, as he tries to suppress his happiness was a constant source of hilarity to me - I really, really liked him a lot, and made me want to take him home there and then, and give him a hot supper and cuddle!
Another job well done here.

Character-wise, the cast did a good job. Sonia Sui's character isn't in the marriage meeting biz just for romance - she also wants to know why people want to get married. She does spend a lot of time perfecting her "I"m thinking" face, though! Her office mates and relatives give her some pretty funny glimpses of why people look for mates - and her writing research is also enlightening. I felt like I learned quite a bit about relationships in the process. Plus, the main romance leads are all very good looking!
As for the music, I don't know who is on the soundtrack but the songs fit well into the action and create quite a moody little series. Don't let the peppy opening number scare you off - the rest of the soundtrack is lovely but not overly saccharine.
I see a high re-watch possibility for such a slow and odd but sweet little story.
