Mediocre my foot! ~ I really really liked this series. When I first started watching this I thought it was going to be corny because of their powers and other minor details, but I was proven wrong. The more episodes I watched, the more I was captivated. Every week I came back craving more and looking forward to hearing the theme song. The only downside is I was expecting 40 Episodes and it was so disappointing to find out that this season was only 26 episodes. The way the show was set they definitely could've expanded on the characters, especially Xiao Feng's role and Wei Yi.I thought that for sure that she would be his long lost sister or something or that her lineage would be part Demon, maybe there is still hope if they make a season2.

All in all great show!

Story: I loved how this drama is quite different from many dramas I have seen. I did have a misconception on the name Healer. I literally thought he had healing powers because that's what I thought I have been hearing from other people. I guess I was just reading wrong; however, his martial arts moves and the technology in this drama definitely made up for that. My fave part is that Jo Min Ja used to be on the Cyber Crime Squad. I have only seen Ghost that uses the Cyber Crime Squad in a drama. It makes it really interesting. Also, there was no love-triangle that there usually is in the drama and that sometimes drags out, but there didn't seem to be one. I really loved that, it was refreshing.

Cast: The main character's personalities aren't what you would usually find in 'typical' dramas. Although in 'typical' dramas, the personalities aren't bad, they are just used a lot. Therefore, it makes this drama really refreshing. I was a bit hesitant to watch this drama because I was still confused about what it was, but I got excited after watching the first few episodes. The chemistry between the two main characters felt natural. I loved how Yeong Shin trusted Jung Hoo, it really made them a powerful couple in this drama. The supporting roles in this drama all seemed important enough to remember throughout the drama as well. They all seemed to make some sort of impact throughout the drama.

For the music, I really loved "Eternal Love" by Michael Learns to Rock. The other songs were kind of just a blur, but yeah Eternal Love was really good and seemed to fit pretty well.

I am not a person that rewatches dramas, but I mean if I really had the time and wasn't sure what else to watch I would definitely want to rewatch this drama.

Though idols brought me to the drama world, I admit that many -if not most- of their acting have proved a total failure. Just because they have a huge fan base, they get all the lead roles and high rates and give the audience hell. So I was not all excited at starting this but I thought trying a 12-episode series an episode per week won't hurt. I'm glad I did.

Though there's nothing extraordinary about the plot, the drama presented serious and deep issues in a comic way while making us feel the depth of them. Paternity, one-night stands, love, gender, friendship, fate, unemployment, plastic surgery, society's expectations, dreams, talents and the pressure of youth are all portrayed in the drama. The nuggets of wisdom at the end of each episode were so loaded but cute. Though I hate didactic messages, I thought they were to the point with no pressure. Being 24 myself, I related to the struggle of the guys.

The last episode was epic. And the last words of Kim Dong Joon were like a soothing breeze to my troubled heart.

The music was awesome here. The way they'd add classic songs to some ridiculous situations was so hilarious.

Kim Sa Eun was a pleasant surprise -I'm a Super Junior fan so I'm pretty biased to my band member's wife-.

Kim Dong Joon's dialect and terrible sense of humour made the drama for me.

For a light break after watching a sageuk or a melo; this drama would present a great solace.

This is the Currently Watching article I wrote after starting it:

Really enjoyed this addictive show.
Pretty much had everything. Suspense, excitement, comedy, romance, thrills and fights.
Although I do have to confess, it reminds me of many shows rolled into one, still I enjoyed it a lot. (Sorry to say but I am a little partial to the hero, I have liked all his dramas, as an innocent, sweet, loveable but strong character)
I liked all the character development. And welcomed that it did not have heart wrenching heart burning scenes and people. Pretty much had likeable characters, except for our good ol baddie who wasnt that hateful either.
all episodes had enough gripping power to avoid the FF button, each ending with a strong cliff hanger. ( I have decided to end an episode in the middle, as usually the ending makes you want to keep watching, and we all have to sleep and work!) I was a bit dissapointed with the rushed ending.
Overall an interesting watch, wont mind watching again sometimes.

One of best drama's ever !!!
Rewatch value 30/10 because
I watched it already 3 times within one month.
It's an very funny and cute romantic drama, and made me very happy watching it.
Not like other drama's where there are very annoying people in it.
Here is ShanShan an very funny in an normal way.very natural and realistic. Not like other drama's where they make the character funny by turning them in not realistic / childish way , which makes them annoying in the end.
This is one of the reasens I watched it 3 times.
Because after watching " My Lucky Star" where the main characters are very annoying in the beginning , the story not realistic made me very angry so I watched ShanShan for the third time and after one epidode and I could let my angry go and was happy again.
So I recommend this drama to every one for an happy time.

This is one weird drama to review. I just kept wondering what was supposed to be so good about it and what wasn't. Let me tell you that I didn't find this drama neither perfect nor horrible, it just had a neutral feeling.

The story is basically structured the same way as a lot of other dramas: Every episode presents a new secondary character, showing his story and what happens to him until the episode ends and the character will be forgotten or will appear in a few scenes in the other episodes, meanwhile the main characters' situations progress extremely slowly in the background. This goes on until episode 8/9. There isn't much to say about them, not so good yet not so bad. The lasts episodes were supposed to have the big impact adding a real plot to the main characters but it was still a "not so good yet not so bad" situation, which disappointed me.
Although, I really enjoyed the cultural ambiance I felt in the show with either the friends eating outside in front of the food stand and the Rakugo (a Japanese form of comedic theater) and I really liked the way the drama shows its story and at the same time it shows a classical rakugo story as they both advance to the same point. That was really unique.

The actors did a great job, except a little bit Ito Misaki (Megumi's actress) who wasn't that good, even though the characters weren't well developed.
The music was ok, the ending song was really good.
I didn't dislike watching it but I wouldn't re-watch it since it was pretty slow.

Of all fairy tales and stories I've heard as a child, Mulan was my favorite, partially because I am Chinese, and I'm also female. Vicki Zhao's portrayal of Mulan was VERY different from this Mulan, and although I didn't dislike this drama, I wished a many things were tweaked.

Story:
As all retellings of Mulan, it's about a young woman who enters the army in her father's place. Ruo Lan's story revolves around war/military while Yu He's story revolves around court backstabbing and betrayal.
The Good: The story had political/court intrigue, betrayals, tons of backstabbing, and a semi-love triangle? I hate love triangles, and I don't think I can stress that enough. However, this wasn't really a love triangle, which I was thankful for, but I couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. There was romance, but much more emphasis on friendship. The trust that these 3 people have for each other is an amazing and wonderful thing; they're willing to go through death together. Mu Lan embodies many themes like maternal love, morality and ethics, and family bonds. None of the characters in Mu Lan are one dimensional, black and white. All of them are complex, and their intentions, though sometimes because of personal ambitions, are usually influenced by others. The story revolved around 2 girls essentially: Hua Ruo Lan, and Hua Yu He(Ruo Lan's sister). I liked Yu He's story line because it emphasized an extremely important theme, but Ruo Lan's story line could have been more spiced up.

The Bad: Although Ruo Lan's kindness and honesty were two very admirable traits during a period of war, I felt that the story line wasn't very realistic. There is character growth, but I wished there was even more character growth. Mulan was supposed to be an amazing leader who could influence others. for some reason, Ruo Lan never clicked as that leader with me. I never saw her a leader. I sometimes wish there was more strategy and military tactics.

Characters:
Ruo Lan: She's a determined, selfless, and loyal young woman who is probably the most genuine and sincere female lead I've ever seen. Unlike Vicki Zhaos' potrayal-a stoic, badass Mulan-, Elanne's portrayal is a much more kind-hearted, and naive Ruo Lan. All she wants is peace.

Yu He: An ambitious, and selfish young woman who aims to probably become Empress one day. She's sly, and very clever.

3rd Prince: He was a very strong, and caring leader who cares about his people. I really liked his character.

Zhao Yu: He's a funny guy. But I never liked him, at all. I found him pretty boring and repetitive at times. Sometimes I stare at the screen and wonder if his character is even necessary at all. But, that's just my opinion.

Acting/Cast: I felt that though sometimes the main cast could have done a better job at expressing their facial expressions, the cast was pretty well done. Because China dramas dub their actors/actresses, I sometimes wish that I could hear their real voices. But then again, sometimes the dubbing is better because China is a large nation with several different dialects.

Rewatch: I don't rewatch dramas, so a rating of 5 is what I usually give all dramas.

I absolutely loved it. Great Cinderella/Ugly ducking turn Swan story. Never expected to cry so much though. Very well written. But overall it's a romantic comedy and so well done. I laughed so freaken hard, Grandma is a trip!!!. The secondary love interest is also very HOT. An oldie but goodie classic. Highly recommend!! I am going to watch the Korean version after this, but many compared it say that the Taiwanese version is better. i usually don't care about the OST much, but this drama could have had a better one.

You aren't supposed to go into this drama expecting a lot - with that in mind, you'd enjoy it. I'd say it's a good weekend thriller. If you're a fan of locked room mysteries, Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest or even corruption, then you'd like it. It's not like a top quality thriller but it'll provoke you so it does its part. If you've watched Lost Days - you'd like this. Or if you found Lost Days not thrilling enough, this one's better.

The story's logical. It's not like they were just randomly put into a forest so props to them for making it logical. They do well on focusing on one single plot so that things aren't everywhere. Episodes are spent to establish each character's story / side. They did really good on this. You may think something on one of the episodes and then on the next one we see another other side of the story. Factors like society, hierarchy and responsibility play a part in the narration. I like the whole "seemingly middleschool / highschool setting but actually a glimpse of a small existing corruption in the society" thing that was going on.

The acting's good as they are playing students. There were different types of reactions to the situation they're put in so I guess you could say it satisfies all viewers. Their acting is also all on the same level so no one really sticks out. The 'adults' acting was great. They did well in pissing me off most of the time & seeing how they were supposed to be a stressful factor in the narration, I'd say their acting felt realistic.

It wasn't a memorable soundtrack but it did its part. Felt the jumps when needed. Played the fear card when needed. It was a typical thriller soundtrack; the momentum builds and you're all excited to see the reveal. Never missed a beat so I'd say soundtrack was good.

Only problem is if you watch all the episodes at once you'll kinda skip things cause they either do a long review of the previous episode or drag it out. Each episode tries to establish the same feelings as you got from the previous episode then get on with the current episode's motive, which could get annoying if you're watching all the episodes at once. *I kind of understand this though, cause it was a show that played one episode per week so if you were watching in real time, you may have forgotten what happened last week.

Rewatch value @ 5/10 - cause once you know what happens you can't really rewatch it with the same feelings nor is it a great thriller to be rewatching. Nonetheless it was a good thriller (for the weekends - cause you may just want to relax / you're bored/ just need something to watch in the background).

I want to use all the adjectives in the dictionary for this drama, but I don't think I could find enough words to really say how I feel right now. My hands and my heart have been shaking with the emotions of these last 2 hours. I don't know when that will stop. What a glorious, remarkable ride this drama has been. And, if nothing else gets taken away from this, I pray that more of the viewing world becomes aware of how brilliant and beautiful and talented our Kim Rae Won is. The effort he gave to prepare for this role and the superb performance he gave were beyond even my expectations. And since I regard him as one of the finest actors in the world, I guess that expresses enough! Really, every single part was played perfectly, cast perfectly. Cho Jae-Hyun as usual his exceptional self. But every one of the other roles were so well done that no character in this was ever lost in the crowd. Every one of them elicited strong feelings. Just a remarkable job of casting, writing, acting, and directing.

Thank you too to Park Kyung Soo...what a brilliant writer. You outdid yourself on this one. If there is justice in this world, you and this drama should win many awards and you and this entire cast and crew should be extremely proud and reap many rewards in your long careers in dramaland. Thank you! Kamsahamnida!

There were certainly times in this drama where I felt I had not only reached a breaking point, but gone long past it. The constant push pull/success failure were exhausting, wearing, frustrating, angering. The battle seemed to go on forever and ever, until I just prayed for the ending...even knowing what I would be facing at the end. The brilliance of this show is it took every single idea that I have ever seen in a legal Kdrama, used it, and twisted and turned it and changed it so that at the end of every single episode, without exception, you were left a wringing, shaking, exhausted mess and begging for it to be over. But on it went. It took everything I had to click on those last 2 episodes. I knew already what I would be facing, what was going to happen. I could see how he would get the chip to him, how he would ultimately save his wife. Yet, just like I could almost see every single failure and success coming in each and every episode, never for a second did my stress or anxiety abate...not for a moment throughout this entire show! Such was the greatness of the acting and writing in this.

It was also beautifully filmed. The cinematographer for this is also to be highly commended. The visual images of so many scenes were so striking and really set the tone for what was happening. I have so many of those images printed in my brain now.

I highly recommend this show. I guess that's pretty much a given! I can't imagine anyone watching this not being impressed by this drama!

this drama started well I really thought it was going to be a great drama until , the writer decided to shift the story leaning towards romance and neglecting the original story .

the romance wasn't logical and it only ruined the flow of the original story , cause of that the ending was rushed and it seemed like a big mess with a lot of unfilled holes .

this drama was only watchable for me it was okay with nothing special to make it a unique drama

I know this review will get lots of hate but this is my opinion about the drama no more no less

I am absolutely in love. Literally. It is the best I've seen since...ever... I think actually. This drama will forever hold a place in my most memorable and favorite dramas. I really hope you watch Healer and enjoy it as much as I did.

It's comedic, suspenseful, romantic (wonderfully), full of action (and awesome fight scenes), character development, and deep/heavy/intricate plot lines.

I usually write a review by covering each of the topics I am to rate (e.g. Story, Acting/Cast, Music, etc.), but I feel this drama deserves something more unique. A list of the first things that come to mind when I think of Healer or recommending it to others.

1. Whatever you do don't let this be your first drama.
It can be your second or forty fifth, but don't ruin every other drama by making it your first. It would be like listening to your favorite song for the first time and then only being allowed to listen to "It's a small world" for the rest of your life. (Okay thats a bit of an exaggeration but think of it this way): You won't be able to truly appreciate how wonderful this drama unless you have something to compare it to, and any drama you watch afterwards will fall short of expectations.

2. Whatever you do watch it.
If you have to wait, wait. It's completely worth it. It's ratings are proof of its beauty. I mean its the first drama to break the 9.0, "1 liter of tears" since probably 2006, and the only drama currently in the top 5 (while being surrounded by movies).

3. Relationship goals.
It will become a desire, envy, need, and dream to find a love as wonderful as theirs.
Every time I find a relationship I fall in love with or adore I find certain aspects of that relationship that I want or aspire to, it's kinda like piecing together your dream significant other, but the relationship part instead of the person and what color eyes they'll have.
Healer's aspects: The way they subconsciously recognized each other. The way they looked at each other. How they craved the others' touch. The way they acted like a real couple when they hugged, kissed, and touched each other. The way they spoke to each other. The way you could see how they felt and treasured each other. The reassurance and peace they had when they were together. These are the aspects I personally dream of in a relationship. ( I apologize for gushing, but you'll understand after you watch it).
AKA: the chemistry and acting are A+

4. Plot.
Besides extremely lovable characters, the interconnected relationship and plot lines made me obsess over watching the next episode. I woke up early to get an episode in before school... it was too good to watch while sleep deprived, which brings up point 5..

5. Don't marathon it over night.
The story is basically a drug, it will infest your mind and make you want to marathon the show in 24 hours. Don't let it. Take your time, savor every episode, because it will be over way too quickly.
Imagine your on a diet and your not allowed to eat your favorite food of all time. Now imagine your allowed to eat that food only once (for the last time), don't ruin it by shoveling huge bites into your mouth. Relish every spoonful, forkful, (heck, chopstick-ful) while watching your favorite show, or looking out at a beautiful (your favorite) view. Eat at a leisurely pace: not finishing it in seconds and not putting half into the fridge to save it while slowly letting it go old.
Start, don't rush, savor, enjoy, (possibly cry here or there), finish, and then cry (probably again) because there's nothing left to watch, (then pray your hardest that a drama just as wonderful will air soon), and then (probably) watch it again.

6. There are flaws.
There are probably a ton of flaws in this show, but they are so insignificant that you can't pinpoint them, or they just don't matter to you, because you love even Healer's flaws.

One thing to note: I take rating and reviewing very seriously, because I rely on ratings very heavily as an avid drama fan/watcher. Please don't see my 10/10 rating and just think, "oh it's one of those people who just rate anything they like a 10/10", because that is not the case. My 10 just shows how high I treasure and enjoyed this drama, and I hope you will too.

P.S. sorry for the length, I hope it was helpful :)

The female lead got rather frustrating with how immature she would sometimes act/think. Anytime she went into dream mode was pretty much always a sign to fast forward. Luckily you get the gist of what she's worrying about from the beginning of the sequence but I just kept cringing if I tried to watch the entire scene.

Tanokura Yuuto (Fukushi Sota) looked a bit like Mizushima Hiro from certain angles which I must say I very much enjoyed.

The writing left a lot to be desired for Tamaki Hiroshi'c character Asao Yuu. Nothing was really explained or explored with him which was disappointing. His character seemed like he would be likable if the writers allowed us to get to know him.

If you've seen Last Cinderella already I'd suggest skipping this one, but if you haven't then I'd suggest seeing it to compare the two because Last Cinderella has more well rounded characters then Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu does.

Punch is the kind of drama that makes me reevaluate all the dramas for which I have given a rating of 10. All the elements of a great drama are pulled together to elicit a range of emotions. I cried, yelled, laughed, etc. This drama just wrenched every emotion I guess like being "punched". The writer did a great job of blurring the lines between right and wrong. The main lead isn't exactly a "bad guy", but he has done what he needed to survive in a world of rules that he did not create. I have no moral compass so in my eyes if he manipulated people to further himself while the ones that claim to be righteous were doing the same thing, then it is all good in my opinion. I could go on and on, but I'm on the verge of spoilers so I will just stop for now. Needless to say this drama will have you asking yourself all kinds of moral questions. Also, the dialog is smart. There are so many good quotes from this drama. The relationships between the characters are twisted. Some of them are freindemies. The romance is there and the chemistry is good. It may not be displayed in the typical way, but it is there.

Kim Rae Won is an acting genius. It makes me wonder why I haven't seen him before. His portrayal of Park Jeong Hwan's strength and weakness is excellent. I'm not sure if it is just me or if he really was losing weight as the drama proceeded through his illness. Regardless, I love him.
Kim Ah Joong's portrayed Shin Ha Gyeong with great strength and dignity. She is the only one that was true to her values.
I had a love/hate relationship with Jo Jae Hyeon as Lee Tae Jun. I understand where he was coming from and honestly if he had just not done the first thing to hurt Jeong Hwan's family, then he probably wouldn't have been seen as that bad of a guy. However, he went from bad to worse. For some reason though I just can't find it in me to hate him. What a great actor and character.
I truely hated Choi Myung Gil as Yoon Ji Sook. My biggest hate is hypocrisy. You will see when you watch that she is the most hateful person of all. (is that a spoiler? If so, then sorry)
The other actors are good too.

The music is good and appropriate.

I will probably rewatch this sometime.

I recommend this drama to everyone that enjoys a good emotional drama.

"If the world went the way you thought, I'd have lived like you, too." The very realistic and true phrase ever said.

The first thing that caught my attention, or should I say that later it totally drew me in is when I found out that our main protagonist is a villain and that he helps bad people and cleans after their dirty work. It was very unusual for me since we are all used with a hero male lead right from the beginning. But, once he finds out that he has a couple of months to life and after his most precious people got infected with the evilness of those bad ones, he changes and fights against them. He's not fighting with fists, but with his intelligence and every episode makes you excited wanting to see who will throw the next 'punch'. How much I was happy and cheering for him at the same time I was angry and furious because how much punches he thrown thinking it will lead him to the winning that much punches were pushing him back. But, I can say that this guy is a true hero and even though he's playing dirty, he's doing it for his beloved ones, for a better tomorrow. I can say that I was maximum invested in a story and I can guarantee that you'll too. If not, you can freely yell at me and get angry.

Another thing that makes this drama strong and deep is its characters. What I loved the most is that every character is not black or white, what more they're all grey with its own faults and mistakes. It was really interesting to watch what character and to what extent he/she can becomes either evil or good. Our main villain, Tae Joon is one of the best and most fascinating villains ever. In fact, I wouldn't consider him a true, pure villain, hmm I'd rather call him a villain with emotions. He knows for a loyalty, respect and love. What this drama makes more special is the relationship he and Jung Hwan shared. Their relationship is some kind of special, filled with respect. I think that he considered Jung Hwan as his own son and that's why their bond never breaked even after Jung Hwan's death.
Our main hero, Jung Hwan as I said before is a man of words, a true hero. I loved that progress in a drama how he was turning from a cold-blooded and ruthless villain to a strong man and a fighter. Since the story is in fact all about characters and their life I don't want to spoil anything about him more.
And the woman I loved the most in this drama is Ha Gyung. Even though everyone around her are playing dirty she's the only one 'clean'. The only one who's following law and principles. She's not stupid nor idealistic. Ha Gyung knows that world is a corrupt, but she took the oath to make a world a better place and she's sticking to it. In a progress of helping Jung Hwan to correct his mistakes and to take care of his responsibilities they slowly learned and felt that their passion and love they had for each other once is not extinguished yet. She's the the female lead I dig and respect most in dramaland: strong and independent.

Oh how much I love when the writing is brilliant and smart, especially when the drama has smart, life lessons dialogues! And this was a case for this drama. Every thing they said, every sentence they sent each other are so smart, clever and well said. Hehe, the funny part is how most of them are related to food giving this drama a great metaphore and comparasion. Actually, using words they throw punches to each other's face.

I have so many words for this drama, but I don't want to ruin the excitement for you. I'm just going to say that it's one hell of a drama, full of suspense, thrilling, intensity and most importantly it'll keep you glued to the screen. I didn't get bored for a second, it's fast pacing with twists and turns on every corner leaving you behind an unforgettable enjoyment.
