I really enjoyed this drama! Initially I found it on Netflix as the American version with edits. It was condensed from the original 80 something episodes to about 20ish episodes. I suggest watching the full length episodes to understand everything and not miss any scenes, because a lot of events happened.
Sun Li and the supporting cast acted very well. I liked how Sun Li's character changed from the beginning to end while struggling to survive from all the sabotage. She did a great job displaying various emotions. Even though the drama was very long, but the costumes, prop set up, scenes, etc was jaw dropping - so beautiful! Great drama! Definitely one of my favorites.

This has to be one of the most interesting and engaging historical, romance dramas that I have seen. Zhao Li Ying and the supporting cast has done an amazing job. I really liked the chemistry between Zhao Li Ying
and Chen Xiao, who did a great job acting as well. The overall directing, story line and acting were done well. Zhao Li Ying is just gorgeous! Most of all, I liked how the drama emphasized on Zhao Li Ying's determination to rise up the ranks as the first female prime minister using mostly her own wits and ability.

Before I even get into my pros and cons, I just want to say I am in love with the concept of this drama and it's story. I am extremely glad I came across this and decided to watch it before others on my list!

Story | Sexism in life is the main theme. Several women who are in the work force deal with sexism constantly and due to certain circumstances end up working together at a restaurant started up by the main heroine. Just like the title, it is a restaurant with many problems. Exactly like women in the work force. But the restaurant becomes a safe place and a place for them to work without the prejudice and discriminations that are usually used against working women. These are real life issues that real life women (and even men) deal with daily.

Cast | At first I was kind of "meh" about the cast but as the episodes went on and the characters started to develop, I had zero issues with the actors or their acting. Everyone had great chemistry together and it worked out perfectly. Though there is quite a number of serious moments, the actors were able to also give off comedic vibes to keep the drama going and I loved those moments. Maki Yoko was a strong in this drama. She gave her character the perfect amount of courage, sympathy, anger etc. Can I just add how much I loved Yasuda Ken's character. Best. Character. Ever. Anyways, I believe every character had their own unique color and the actors were able to portray that extremely well.

Music | Instrumentals during scenes and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's OST Mondai Girl was the ending theme. I scored low only because I'm not much into that type of music. The song is ok but just not my style.

Rewatch | Not too sure. I think I'll more recommend this people than actually rewatch it myself.

Overall | It's not a bad drama. I actually think it's quite an important drama because these types of issues aren't usually the main theme of a drama. These are real life issues that happen everywhere in the work place and it's disgusting. So many double standards and the following of Confucianism in the Asian culture is a big issue that I wish was talked about more. Unfortunately, I am only disappointed with this drama because 1. it was only 10 episodes long (which is normal for Japanese dramas) and 2. because it was so short, a lot of situations that should (or I thought should have) have been focused on more were only glimpsed at and a lot of big situations in this drama were opened and instead of being closed completely, they were slightly left open leaving me not feeling content.

I can't lie though, the issues and how things were dealt with and positive things that were said, made me happy. I can genuinely say I liked this drama. It's a nice short drama that you can get through in a couple of days or a weekend. Please give it a chance!

Umm.. wow! I was not expecting this drama to be this good! I picked it at random out of the currently airing dramas because I wanted to watch something light and funny and this seemed right up my alley. It was all those things but it was also so much more!

Story: The story was full of mystery and suspense and love and emotions and loads of cuteness! I loved every moment of it! The romance played out so well! But more about that later. The mystery of Soon Ae's death and creepy officer Choi was so good! There were scenes during which I actually got goosebumps! The drama played the supernatural element really well and it blended with everything else. From start to finish this drama was perfectly constructed, with great consistency. Despite the ending being a typical drama ending, it was done right for a change. It left me satisfied and even though I miss these characters, I'm very happy with how the drama ended.

Actors/Characters: I loved the cast! Such talented actors, all of them! And deep, well-written characters. Na Bong Sun was my favorite character! She was so adorable! And I saw so much of myself in her! I connected with her a lot and most of the time I just wanted to give her a huge hug! Park Bo Young did a mind blowing job, playing Na Bong Sun and Shin Soon Ae. You could differentiate between the two girls with only her demeanor. She was so good with both characters, both of which are complete opposites. This girl deserves an award!

Is it just me or does Jo Jung Suk has a Gong Yoo vibe? He's just as gorgeous and just as amazing an actor. I mean everyone in this drama is an amazing actor! And Jo Jung Suk wasn't any different. I loved Kang Seon Woo! He was somewhere between a bad boy and good guy. He was sweet and adorable and had depth as a character. Loved him!

I love Kim Seul Gi! I love the quirky character she plays so well! And she was perfect as Shin Soon Ae. She made me laugh, she made me cry. It was just so much fun to watch her onscreen. Her performance was really great!

Onto my second favorite character, Choi Sung Jae. Hey, don't look at me like that! I have a thing for psycho characters :P But honestly though, how amazing was Im Joo Hwan's acting? Makes me want to check out more of his dramas. One second he is the nicest person you have ever seen and the next he has this sinister, murderous glint in his eyes and the look on his face will haunt your nightmares. No but seriously, I loved is character! I felt sorry for him but he was also so scary! A very interesting character.

Yaay for ahjumma friendships! I seriously loved Seobingo and Seon Woo's mother! They reminded me of the only thing I loved in The Heirs (other than the Chan Young/Bo Na couple). They were so adorable and funny, together and separately. So were all the people who worked in Seon Woo's restaurant. They were such a goofy, endearing group! I also loved Seon Woo's sister and her story was heartbreaking! I loved how pure and innocent she was.

Romance: Na Bong Sun and Kang Seon Woo are ssooo adorable together!!!! Like I can't even!!! Their cuteness had me smiling like a lovesick fool! I seriously loved the two of them together! And even though I liked Soon Ae I was team Bong Sun from the start. The love triangle was very interesting and I loved how it played out.

Overall: I loved this drama to bits and pieces and if you haven't seen it already then what are you waiting for?! With romance, mystery, great acting and amazing story and a pinch of scary this drama will make you fall in love with its awesomeness!

First of all, I didn't expect much when I started watching this and because I just felt like I had to watch it as a Jerry Yan fan. The story’s very simple and can be typically found in a lot of other dramas but sometimes even the simplest plots can lead to a really good development of both the story and the characters. There are also plot lines about revenge and business which may annoy you but at least it didn’t drag much compared to most C-dramas that I’ve watched that focused too much on those sides.

I actually have nothing to complain about the main cast because I felt that they played their parts very well. Jerry Yan's immature/childish Li Tang made this drama turn into comedy (especially his outfits). Despite his childishness, I just found myself falling in love with him more and more. Maggie Jiang's Fu Fangsi is very inspiring and I'd love to be someone like her. She doesn't let anyone or anything stop her from pursuing her dreams. She's a rare breed in dramaland and more female characters should be created like her. Ron Ng's Yin Haoran may be your typical martyr-like second male lead but because of this kindness, his flaws were also revealed. Viola Mi's Cheng Xiangnan may be the annoying antagonist but it's not always rainbows and butterflies in a supposedly feel-good drama. It also shows that she's an effective actress! I also have to give credit to the supporting cast because they added elements of fun to the drama as well.

I LOVE the music in this drama. I’m not into CPop unless the songs were used in a drama so it was only recently that I discovered that some of the songs used in this drama were not new already. I have always known that JJ Lin is a great singer based on people’s opinions since I never got the chance to listen to his music so it was just great that I got to listen to his music because of this drama. My ultimate favorite songs are JJ Lin and Kym's "Waiting For Your Love" as the opening song and Wang Su Long's "If I Could Turn Back Time" as the ending song.

Will I rewatch this drama again? There’s a huge possibility that I will because I started and ended it with the mere focus of blogging about it. So next time, I’d probably watch it out of leisure/enjoyment. And why wouldn’t I want to rewatch the adorable and funny scenes especially involving Tang and Fangsi? Count me in!

The cinematography/editing of the drama was well done and of high quality and I wish more C-dramas would learn their lesson from this drama. It’s also important to note that the story pretty much revolved around the world of fashion which makes it refreshing and pleasing to the eyes! Most importantly, the story’s really enjoyable to watch because of the splendid cast (both main and supporting). Overall, I recommend this to anyone who's just up to watching a refreshing C-drama in terms of its quality and theme.

I loved this. I was seriously considering dropping it or putting it on hold after the first few episodes because I was so afraid I could see where it was going and I just wasn't in the mood for a tear-jerker that ends in a tragic death - I'm just so totally over that plot line.

But I stuck it through and I'm glad I did. I think anyone who remembers the pangs of their first true love and how overwhelming it was will feel for these two characters - especially anyone who has ever suffered a really painful breakup when that love ended. There were moments that seemed like nods to Romeo + Juliet (the movie from 1996, which I've always had a soft spot for despite the fact that a lot of people hated it) - the water wall where they see each other at the party, the fall into the pool. The balcony. There's even a character that turns out to be a "Paris" type - father approved.

Anyway, I'm also a sucker for dramas where the lead is a good man - and Hiroto is certainly that. He doesn't belittle or bully Nao, though at first he is rather aloof. He has a world of responsibility on his shoulders at age 20 and takes it very seriously - he wasn't looking for a grand romance, and he's mature enough to know that because of the difference in their status, falling in love with Nao is probably a mistake - but he can't help it.

"Cool Whispers" is lovely to listen to, so I enjoyed the music, too, and unlike the last drama I watched with Kame as the lead, I felt he had good chemistry with Ayase Haruka here. Maybe not wall-banging, toe-curling chemistry - but sweet first love type chemistry at least. If you like sweet romantic stories with a side of angst, give this one a shot.

This drama had potential, but lost it in the way, is well made and in the first episodes you will wonder why was this drama cut to 14 episodes, but as it goes you might get disappointed with parts of the story and some characters.
SPOILERS ALLERT
Ma Se Young's change from the cool girl to the drama queen got frustrating. Her and Jin Gu was my favourite couple at first but then whenever they appeared, I was like not this thing again. Lying to their friends about their relationship was not cool, it didn't bother me that much because they had strong feeling for each other. But Ma Se young playing the victim when in reality the only victims were Jae Bum and Go Eun was annoying.
Da In was another another disappointment. She never talked about her feeling and always left Kwang Su suffering, this kind of love is not fair.
Not to mention the amount of disappearances in the last episodes. There is not a thing that can get more annoying than this. If you have a problem TALK IT OUT, don't let others worry.
That's why Min Su and Bong Soo couple was the best one. Despite their young age they had the most meaningful relationship. They would talk about the things that bothered them and had sincere feelings.

Dong Gu stole the show and Choi Ro Woon is a little star.

Wow! What a ride! After a lacklustre summer of kdrama watching I finally finished Oh My Ghostess and I absolutely enjoyed it! It is a wonderful conglomeration of fine acting, funky storytelling, tasteful use of popular kdrama tropes, a touch of mystery suspense, wrapped into a unique love story.

STORY

This is a love story after all, the genre says it is a romantic comedy but one that is uniquely its own. It is sweet, captivating, different and ultimately spellbinding.

First you have the one sided, unrequited love of the kitchen help for her good looking celebrity boss. And you also have the classic friends secretly pining for each other love line. And then lo and behold you have a virgin ghostess love story, masquerading in the body of her host and successful in stealing the heart of the leading man. And finally the new Bong Sun emerges from her shell. Lots of tender loving moments, tantalizing kisses and amazing chemistry.

It is also a show about friendships. True friendships never waver and this show has plenty of them including one that surpasses what the eye can see, trusting your body and memories to none other than a ghost.

This is also a show with attention paid to familial love. A daughter’s love cut short by her untimely death and a father’s regrets. A brother’s maturing journey from irresponsible son to a young adult ready to take on the man of the house role. It is rare in kdrama where we have the absence of a dysfunctional family and this show is one of those.

This is a tissue worthy show. I depleted half a box watching the goodbye scenes but that's me. I do cry easily. :)

ACTING/CAST

I am hard pressed to find a single character that did not belong in the show. Everyone has his/her purpose from beginning to end. Well-crafted characters do not come to life unless they are well casted. Excellent acting coupled with amazing chemistry simply made this production comes to life and utterly believable. Among the three leads, they were equal and perfect complement of each other, be it, looks, acting calibre, or fan attention.

Our delightful Ghostess, was consistent in mannerisms, tone, voice, and personality whether it was Kim Seung Gi or Park Bo Young acting the part. There are other shows where the transformation from child to adult characters fell short for me. So the very fact that I was a believer in Park Bo Young’s Soon Ae is a testament to her superb acting. Yes, there is plenty of aegyo throughout the show but it is not the cringe worthy variety. The cuteness serves to showcase the virgin ghostess story beautifully.
The suave and slightly arrogant chef played by Jo Jung Suk is spot on. He’s got enough charms and nice guy good looks that makes it believable that two women and a female ghost would fall for him. His chemistry with Park Bo Young is one to die for.

The Shaman. She reminds me of Ajumma in the Healer. An idiosyncratic but lovable, and fun character. She first comes across as the brash, no nonsense type that is out to catch all the stray souls left on earth but she shows us compassion and heart. The bond between her and Soon Ae rivals a mother-daughter’s. Her friendship with Seon Woo’s mom starts off business-like, a Shaman looking to milk a naive rich woman but her conscience wins over and their relationship turns into one of companionship and respect.

Seon Woo’s mother, Hye Yeong. When she first shows up on screen, I was like “Huh?” She looks so young and it is hard to believe she would be cast as the mother but as the story unfolds it becomes believable and it makes total sense. A highly educated woman with a modern view but one that believes in Shamans and the supernatural.

Not saying a lot about the antagonist since it will give away spoilers but it is nicely done and gives the show the right amount of suspense/twists.

The kitchen crew is a tight knit, hilarious bunch, led by the vain and colourful sous chef, Min Soo. The group’s banter is playful and endearing and definitely not wasted air time.

MUSIC

I have to admit I did not pay much attention to it since I was too engrossed in the show.

REWATCH VALUE

Definitely a yes. I do see myself picking this off the re-watch list someday.

The storyline was just unfair for me to finish watching it because the ghost was constantly taking over the human girl's life because of her greed and unfair death. However, it was supposedly ok for the dead to keep living and the living to constantly disappear because she was too cowardly to live her own life. Yes, it's a drama, and the ghost is getting a second chance, but no one on this earth truly feels their death is justified, so I could not see what this drama was trying to deliver to its audience.

In addition, this drama was hilarious and the romance was on point, but don't come into this drama thinking both the ghost and the girl is the main character, it's only the ghost hence the title which was my mistake. Also sometimes the drama was just jumping for one genre to the next because it would be mystery one minute and then thriller and then back to romcom. The inconsistency annoyed me, and I could not really come to like the main girl (ghost) because of her lies and her greed. The host was just too depressing and lacked any love for herself for me too like her.

However, I do compliment the romance, the comedy and the acting. But this drama was not for me, so I dropped it. When sometime has passed I might pick it up again. My only advice is don't think about this drama in a literal sense and you might just enjoy it.

It starts off strong and gave me high hopes but ultimately I dropped it after episode 6 or so. It's the typical 'jerk who learns how to start feeling through increasingly ridiculous situations where he has to make the right choice'. The cast is good as is their performance but the story just lacks. A lot. The characters other than Ikegami aren't explored and merely hinted at having more to do than run around rolling out fire hoses. Sato Ryuta plays a character whose sole purpose is to appear and lecture the main character on morals and feelings, usually preceeded by him staring at the main character from a distance. Ikegami's boss is a guy who spends his days cutting roses and looking out windows while threatening his employees. Politely.

Would not recommend unless in the mood for a cliche-driven drama to fill an empty day.

This is a drama to cheer you up.

Although there is a serious background story going, it never becomes tragic.
There are many moments, that are funny and the episodes are enjoyable and addicting without
ever being ridiculous. The heroine has two admirers and you can choose whom you root for, although
in the end she chooses just one.

All in all this drama was pure joy and the ending was perhaps the most satysfying in a historical setting ever, although slightly unrealistic.

So go watch it, it is lots of fun!

I enjoyed the drama while it lasted, but I have mixed feelings about it so I can see how there are people that love it, and some that didn't. When I first started, I was hooked, even though the storyline was predictable, I wanted to see it actually play out on my screen. However, the pace at which the story proceeded was very slow, and some episodes made me feel like there was no progress at all. There were some parts of the story that were disappointing and made me feel like there was something missing. And then all of sudden the last couple episodes... they just felt kind of jumpy, random, and rushed. I definitely thought that they could've done a better job editing/planning.

Looking past the flaws, I can say that I did love the two leads, and they made a great pairing. I made it through the show with the romance in their scenes. I especially loved Wallace, he really owned his role, and even though I thought that his character probably didn't have the greatest qualities, I ended up falling in love with him anyways. On the other hand, Tiffany's character annoyed me a bit, I felt much more for her when she was young than her as an adult. The supporting characters were also a mix, there were some of the typical annoying characters that exist in dramaland, and there were some that I really liked as well.

Overall, it was a typical romantic drama with slow pacing. I found myself to like it in general even with all its flaws, but perhaps I simply just loved both the actors, so if you don't it might make the drama even less appealing. Definitely not for someone looking for a light and fluffy romcom.

The drama didn't do that well in ratings so I had pretty low expectations going in. But once I picked it up, I was definitely surprised. The drama was super addicting and has became one of my all time favorite Kdramas.

The story was great with an excellent mix of action, and romance (wouldn't mind more of that). It was very well executed, and gave me the feeling that the story line was really thought out and the writer had everything planned, unlike some dramas where you feel like its been dragged out or rushed. The characters also felt well developed. Although most dramas might have one or two characters that annoy me, I didn't actually feel like I hated any of Healer's, which I attribute to a combination of great writing and acting.

I loved the casting choices with the drama, especially Ji Chang Wook. I hadn't noticed him too much before, but I absolutely fell in love with him with this drama! His performance was amazing and he simply just owned his character. Whether it be the action involved with 'Healer', or the adorable 'Bong Soo', JCW really captivated my heart with his acting. Park Min Young was great as well, the leads made me love both of their characters so much and the chemistry between them was so strong. I loved the romance that played out and the cuteness in that. But beyond the leads, all the supporting characters were great as well, which made the drama much more touching since you could really feel for the characters.

I thought I had seen all of the best love stories, but I hadn't seen this one yet! Kang Ji Hwan and Kim Ha Nuel were amazingly, talented actors to have portrayed the characters in this bittersweet romance. The supporting characters were written to be rather cold, cruel, and lacking in understanding, though it wasn't their fault that they were that way. All of the actors did well, especially the 3 lifetime friends bromance! If you aren't one who likes a very sad drama with periods of laughter and love plus many tissues used, then this drama isn't for you. IF you want to see how characters struggle with the problems life deals them and you don't mind heartbreak tears, then you will enjoy this!!! It's a very slow moving glimpse into the lives of these special friends... It gave enough time to truly understand the characters. The music seemed at first out of place (all American songs mostly older than the time period of the drama); but as the episodes went by playing the songs as memories of places and times, I began to truly enjoy it. There was also some beautiful Korean music that wasn't subbed, but seemed to go along with the feel of the drama. The story line was a bit repetitive, but not so much that it conflicted with the total character development. Actually, I loved ALL of it and rated it 10/10. Don't know why others rated it lower...
