I can't even describe how much I enjoyed watching She Was Pretty. I was completely hooked from the very first episode. Though the story was simple, the characters were unique and intriguing. I fell in love with all of them. Though I must say that Siwon, especially stood out to me. Shin Hyeok was by far my favorite character. Every time he came on screen I was laughing, yet I sympathized with him SO MUCH. To me, he was the real star of this show. He was the peeping girl and may be one of my all-time favorite drama characters.

The music in She Was Pretty was wonderful and fit the show perfectly. The OST is so catchy. Every time I listen to THUMPING I feel as if I can't help but have a good day. I was completely thrilled that Close to You by The Carpenters appeared in the show. It's such a lovely song, and though slightly overplayed at times, was a wonderful addition to the OST.

I think the show's main problem lies with the plot. By no means was it terrible. I was definitely satisfied with the conclusion, and the message of the show was wonderful. It definitely didn't stray from the point of the story. But I felt as if there could have been so much more. Things were mentioned throughout the show, yet they always seemed to be forgotten and were never brought up again. All of these little details could have completely changed the plot, yet they were treated as if they had no importance. I, personally, would have liked to see all of these things explored and probably would have far more invested in the show if they had been.

Having said that, though things could have gone in a completely different direction, I am very happy with what we got. Overall, She Was Pretty was a light, fluffy, and funny show with a good message. The characters had wonderful chemistry (can we just talk about the amazing friendship between Ha Ri and Hye Jin?) and were all likable in their own ways. I very much enjoyed She Was Pretty and am very glad to have watched it.

When I finished this drama…I cried a lot. This drama is based on a REAL STORY and words can't express how sad it was. The entire cast were GREAT. Yamada Ryosuke (Sasaki Ryohei) did a very good job! He is so talented and this drama proved it!! Also I really loved Yasuda Nurumi (Moeko) ’s interpretation! all the actors seemed really a family, the atmosphere was really touching and familiar! But I think that one of the main POINTS of this drama was the masterful interpretation by Yamada. He impressed me a lot!
And another important point is THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Ryohei's family is strong and united. No matter what, in every situation Mom, Dad and brothers were beside him and supported him!
Ryohei's friends are normal guys who admire Ryohei. but when he starts to feel bad, they lose the right path. They feel insecure and powerless. But thanks to the strong bond between them and Ryohei, they will be able to overcome their fears and help Ryohei to pass his time serenely.
There isn’t any OST in this drama, but the background music is appreciable.
I really recommend this drama. And prepare your handkerchiefs, guys.

I really enjoyed this drama! It was my monday-tuesday-wednedsay vitamine of the week because I couldn't help watching the raw episodes and the subbed one!
I really liked the cast! Truthfully I didn't know Lee Won Geun and wasn't excited to watch him as the lead but...THIS SMILE! He captured my heart with just a smile and I was just happy seeing him on the screen!
The story was great and the love story, too cute for words...
I enjoyed every episode and already rewatched my favorite scenes a lot of time, and there are at least two scenes in each episode.
Don't hesitate to watch this drama!

Story: I was surprised at how much I really started to dislike this drama after ep. 8. I could already predict that the lovelines would be dragged out. It was great up until this point for me. It was very humorous, insightful, and cute. The thing that started to turn me off about it was the show didn't know whether it wanted to be a romantic comedy or profound like Misaeng. I use that drama comparison specifically to point out that I don't need a loveline to enjoy the show, but if you're gonna give me that angle, then play it out. Watch the whole show, with each couple, and notice that the romance is really lacking and the skinship, although hugs and handholding are nice have little romantic meaning. It's usually given in the process of some misunderstanding. For a TVN production, I was very sad about this part.

The way this show was edited also bothered me. It had way too much filler for me. At least 15 minutes of each episode has flashback filler of scenes we've already watched, and the same ones over and over again and this is just for the present scenes. Then there's the flashbacks of their youth that give you a scene then next episode replays that scene and adds an additional 3-4 minutes of extend the scene to give more information. I didn't really like this style. I thought the youth scenes could have been intertwined into the present more seemlessly.

Acting: There is nothing bad I can say about the acting. The actors are topnotch and even the new comers are great. This show introduced me to lil Kim Min Jae who I was not aware of until now. Realized that he could actually dance and his acting is good for a rookie. It's no wonder he got picked up for a new drama. All the side characters/students/old friends were really good and played their parts well. I enjoyed watching them even if I didn't really like the way the story was written and directed.

Music: The music wasn't too catchy for me. This is coming from someone who downloads OST for dramas and got into k-pop this way. One of my most disappointing scenes was her dance, which could have been handled so much better even if they need to get a body double, when they cut BTS Dope into a ballad. I was like: I'm just getting my groove on and expecting her to bust out and put the moves on and they slo-mo the hip-hop? WTF? lol....

Rewatch: Watching it once you get the story gist, no need to replay. If I'd rewatch anything it would be for cute scenes from the beginning episodes. Past that, there was so many flashback repeats I rewatch the drama already while watching it the first time.

Overall: It's entertaining. I'd watch it without expecting a loveline. Like even if the drama tries to throw that aspect at you, don't bite. Watch like a Slice Of Life show and enjoying getting to know the main character and her life. Don't expect too much from her, just watch her learn, and grow... and that's why I mentioned Misaeng... If you've watched that drama, this is a lesser version of someone learning and growing. The acting in itself is worth a watch even if the plot is bi-polar.

I'm not a fan of romantic comedies so when I decided to start watching "She was pretty" I was 90% sure I'd have dropped it after 1 or 2 episodes. I started it manly because of Choi Siwon and how well-praised the drama was from the public (korean and international) but I ended up watching something like 8 episodes in 1 day (LOL!)

The story is not the most original and it's pretty basic: the cute and smart girl turns ugly growing up while the shy and fat boy becomes sexy and all (and, of course, NOT nice towards the main character).
Some parts were a little bit too silly but they were acceptable (??) even for someone like me (I even laughed out loud at some points!). After the 10th episode, however, the drama became less funny and this is the only flaw I can say about this show.

One thing I didn't like is that they never explained why and HOW Kim Hye Jin turns """""ugly"""" (c'mon, even with messy hair Hwang Jung Eum is NOT ugly! Nice try PD-nim!) and goofy but that's what makes this drama special: it's crazy.

I think all the actors had great chemistry with each other but I supported Kim Hye Jin/Ji Sung Joon couple more than the Kim Hye Jin/Kim Shin Hyeok one. It was my first time seeing Park Seo Joon acting and I think he was REALLY good: I fall in love with him XD I hope to see him in more serious roles...
It was also my 1st time seeing Hwang Jung Eum acting and I think she's a great woman and actress; I hope to see her more as well!
Last but not least: Choi Siwon (aka The Living Derp)! How is possible to NOT love him and his character, Kim Shin Hyeok?! Believe me, this guy is unique!

The OST is really cute and relaxing! Can't wait to have the full collection of the songs!

The Journey of a Flower is a wonderful drama based on a very much loved book. If you enjoy martial arts, cheesy CG effects, men with long hair and you are new to Chinese dramas this is for you! On the other hand if you are looking for a short, modern and simple romance story you should maybe stay away.

STORY:
The story is one of the strong points of this drama. I rarely watch a drama without skipping at least a few minutes, but there was no need to do that with this one. Entertaining things and characters were going on everywhere and at all times. There are plot holes and very strange moments where something really weird happens, but I found out that 4 episodes worth of material were cut from the aired TV version and the cut material would've made everything make more sense. Overall though the beginning and middle of this drama were almost flawless and the story flowed well and kept you watching... even in the middle of the night XD If the cut material had been included the end part of the drama would've been excellent as well.

ACTING/CAST:
The cast was also great! I especially enjoyed the main actors. Huo Wallace (Bai Zi Hua) did a wonderful job portraying a godlike, statuesque man suffering constant inner turmoil. It is too bad that I don't think his real voice is used in the drama, but I guess this is often done in Chinese dramas. Zhao Zanilia (Hua Qian Gu) was the first female character I've encountered that managed to pull off that perfectly "innocent" & "pure" woman that is so often portrayed in Asian dramas, without being the least bit annoying. She also made her character feel strong at the same time. The supporting cast was also great and certainly offer the female viewers some good options in the male department ;)

MUSIC:
I enjoyed most of the music. Especially the end credit song was a really melodramatic ballad that built the mood of the entire series. There were also some really nice flute themes played throughout the drama that helped you immerse yourself in the story.

REWATCH VALUE:
I've read that there will be a DVD version of the series that will have all the material that was cut out. I will definitely watch this entire series when I get my hands on that DVD... especially since I know that most of the things cut out were cut because they were too risqué! ;)

OVERALL:
You might think that this series does not deserve a 9/10 since they sort of butchered a lot of their good work by cutting out important scenes, but still I was glued to my screen until the very last moment and this series opened the world of Chinese dramas to me. Some of the special effects are terrible, but I don't think they took away from the storytelling. Watch the first episode and you should know if this is for you or not!

I stumbled on Hotelier by chance, looking among the most famous dramas of 2001 and it was the best thing that could have happened to me.
The story is very well written above all. No free events that appear out of nowhere as it does happen in many of the latest dramas. It's a classic story (the good ones will never happen to be the bad ones or vice versa) but with very interesting dramatic twists and well constructed characters learning important lessons for the final.

It's assumed that the main characters are 4, but from the beginning it seems that the main couple is that of the hotel managers and their complicated love story; however, when Frank and Yun Hee appear the story gets complicated, and that's great XD
I have to confess that I fell totally in love with the "Yoon Ah-Yong-joon" couple , I never had seen them in any other drama and seeing them here made me their number one fan, they are one of the best couples I've ever seen. On the other hand, I must say that during the first three quarters of the drama I didn't like the character of Hye Kyo because she was very arrogant, but in the final episodes, her character was more sensitive and I ended up liking her.

About music, there are two songs that I found great and that's why I qualified music with 9: "For Love" and the lovely "The Day You Come to Me" by Kang Chul. Although the drama hasn't a very diverse soundtrack and usually repeated this last song for all the romantic scenes, the melody and lyrics are as beautiful to me that I don't think that devalues the drama in any way.

In short, I think this is definitely one of the best classic dramas out there and should not be missing on your watchlist, especially because you will be satisfied with the end... although it leaves something to the imagination XD. Highly recommended!!!

Before I watched the drama, I watched the movie version.

I was bored so since I don't have anything better to do, I watched it. I didn't like the movie at first but when I tried analyzing the story more I began loving it.

This is a good tv series but it was such a cliffhanger..

I was told that the book explained the story much better so if anyone happened to have an english translation.. please pm me

Although this drama was done in the early days, 6 years ago, I still enjoyed it. Actually I found quite a few of the old classics really fun to watch.

I was initially weary of going thru 55 chapters, the drama was good and did not drag so the chapters breezed by. Like the classic older Korean dramas, this had all the trimmings, Martyr daughter-in laws, evil mother-in-laws, poor girl marry into rich chaebol family and suffers in silence, etc... you get the picture. The poor girl who was the main character had the heart of an angel, kind, hard working, filial, and then of course the worst things always happen to her to the point you are wondering why is god (or the writers) doing this to her??? The redeeming part of the drama, however, is her gorgeous and equally kind hearted boyfriend later husband. I really fell in love with him.

What I liked about this drama was it showed good side and bad side of all the characters. The person(s) you thought you would hate to the very end of the drama, you will kind of forgive in the end. It shows that we are all human, capable of extreme selfishness, of mistakes, of change and also kindness.

I thorough enjoyed this drama and would re-watch it again in the future.

The show had some really good moments and the actors all had great chemistry, but ultimately it fell short because there just wasn't enough story to keep it going for 16 episodes.

First the things that I liked... I really enjoyed the relationships that developed between all of the main characters and the staff at The Most (yes, THE Most). Ha Ri and Hye Jin are adorable together. While Ha Ri does have some demons I really do feel like the girls authentic friendship was delightful and not something I see in many dramas. The main couple were cute together but SIWON WAS AMAZING. If it were up to me, his character would be the lead of a spin off show. Also shout out to Shin Dong Mi as the Fashion Director. It was a minor role but she brought a lot of heart to it and was one of the main reasons that I loved The Most staff.

Okay, now despite all of that... the story was pretty superficial and a bit of a mess. We had these beautiful characters but their stories didn't really come together to tell anything meaningful. Hye Jin as a young girl and Hye Jin as a young woman have a lot of similar interests but virtually no personality traits in common with each other. One is elegant, the other goofy and the story never explains how just because she ran into hard times a person could change so much. This is just one example of MANY where the plot details are thrown in but never really integrated into the story. The Management Team, Sung Joon's weird eating/zombie habits, Hye Jin's sister, Ha Ri's bizarre relationship with her parents and step-parents, (which had oddly both too much and too little detail)...and don't get me started about the CEO's son mystery. In the end all of these things just felt like red herrings thrown in to fill time around the central love quadrangle.

In summary, I really, really enjoyed parts of this show but, despite the show being about the importance of what's below the surface, as a cohesive drama She was pretty lacked a lot of depth. Watch it for the cute fluff but don't expect much more.

Second Thai drama I've watched and I must say I'm not disappointed at all! the story was really good, a mix of full house and personal preference maybe? but it still had its own element and good points.
I'm not going to lie to you, I skipped some parts where it just seemed to drag on, I watched every part where Win and Wan Neung were together though, because their acting was on point and the chemistry was great! the leads had a lot of skinship as well and I guess that made it better. (remember to not squeal too much at the hugging and teasing touches)
the second leads were quite great as well, their story was nice too and they acted really well.
the actor who acted WanWan is simply brilliant! his acting is so great and even though I hated him as a villain but his way of talking and portraying the character is fascinating.
I don't really know how I feel about Guy, He didn't appear much and gave off a bad vibe but shoot me if i wasn't attracted to him. (his voice, kill me)
for Lukpit and Tom, they were pretty good, mostly side characters who only appear from time to time to make the story go faster I suppose, they weren't really that important but the presence of Tom had an impact on Wan Neung, the actor just wasn't present alot. Lukpit did a great job acting as the gay best friend, he was so cute and his creepy smiles were the best.
I really liked the music and there was this one song which I loved alot and now its stuck in my head, I wish I can download it because its stuck in my head and I'm going crazy.
for the rewatch value, I suppose I wouldn't really rewatch it any time soon, I'd probably watch clips on youtube for their best moments together, Win and Wan Neung I mean, and thats about it, because its too long for me to rewatch.
as an overall I'm giving this 7.5 because I really did enjoy it and when I didn't watch it I would still be thinking about when I can actually finish what I was doing and go watch it, but because they used a lot of 'flashbacks' I'm taking a few points away I suppose.

As soon as I heard that Cheer Up! was going to be a drama based around cheerleading in a school that solely focuses on their students getting good grades, my excitement levels dropped. I would rather have school dramas not have any sport related themes and not use the excellent grades cliche. However, I was so very wrong. This drama went to so many deep levels that not many writers can do, and it became extremely influential and inspiring. This is was one of the best dramas this year to date (this is my opinion, so don't judge me) and I felt extremely attached to watching Cheer Up!.

The story was the only thing lacking in this drama, but not even by much. The only problem that occurred was that there was barely any cheerleading whatsoever. They used the sport as a background setting, and only ever included two performances in total (excluding the practice trials). But besides that, I want to thank the writers for so many things. For saving a perfectly salvageable villain who didn't understand any other way of dealing with her problems, for making the love triangle all so lovable and making me ship all three of them together with each other (yes, I shipped not only the end couple and the second-lead couple, but also the bromance), and for making all the characters so cherishable. And also, thank you for showing great character development with every single character, especially Seo Ha Joon and Kwon Soo Ah. I thought there couldn't be a single school drama that would beat Who Are You: School 2015, but here we are, half a year later, with an ever better school drama.

I think all of us can agree that the cast did a superb job, and all agree that when Ji Soo gets a role in another romance drama, he needs to win over the heart of his crush so all of his fangirls don't internally die. Anyway, Ji Soo did an amazing job and I felt so emotionally attached to his character. Angry Mom is a definite watch for me now. Moving on, Lee Won Gun. My new-found bias. I had previously watched his supporting role in Hyde, Jekyll, Me, but I never took much notice of his character as I always had my eyes on Hyun Bin. I never realized how well done his acting is. He is awesome, and my god, that smile of his! I found myself squealing every time he even so much as smirked. Anyway, Jung Eun Ji and N have definitely broken the idols-can't-act stereotype, and I am looking forward to watching more of their works. Finally, Chae Soo Bin. Her character was extremely irritable, but she was the first ever antagonist that I could never fully hate. Deep down, she was just a down-to-earth character who was trying to learn from her mistakes in the wrong way. And with that, Soo Bin had better rise to stardom very soon because she is a spectacular actress.

All of these soundtracks are just too lovable and I can't pick a favourite. There is Fly Like An Eagle, Rely, Shooting Star and Flower. They are all so amazing, I could listen to them all day long. Seriously, look up the playlist online and you can just sit there and listen to them.

Yes, oh god yes. I would do anything to have this series on disc so that I could carry it anywhere with me and just rewatch over and over again. Everyone has that one show that they could always watch, and Cheer Up! is one of them for me.

Overall, this drama was almost perfect, with only the flaw of not having enough cheerleading featured. Every single acting choice was amazing, the script and writing was brilliant, and the music is flawless. Please make more good quality school dramas like Cheer Up!.

I don't know what it was about this drama, but it immediately obtained my full undivided attention. and my love for it only grew by episode 6 when Jo Dong Hyeok got more screen time ^_^ I'd have to say this was one of the most 'well-written' dramas I have watched in a long time - there were no plot holes (from what I could tell) everything flowed from one thing to the next easily. You could feel the pain, hurt, love, anger, jealousy/envy - the acting was top-notch!

Sang Min (Jo Dong Hyeok) was my favorite character - he was like a love struck angel sent from heaven, his kindness toward Seo Young never failed to move me to tears every time - I fell head over heels for him by episode 6 and my love just continued to grow deeper and deeper for him each passing episode. He tells his dad at one point that he doesn't want to hate anyone, he wants to use all the time he has to love ^_^ I want a guy like him! <3 He fell immediately for Seo Young and it was SO cute! He couldn't stop smiling when he was in her presence ^^
Seo Young (Han Eun Jeong) gets betrayed by her lover of 10+yrs - during this betrayal that continues to grow, she meets Sang Min and receives so much help from him - this actress really delivered the tears! you could see her pain and anguish - it was so real, you would forget she's acting - Perfect emotions!
Seok Joo (Kim Dong Wan) was a real ass**** but I wasn't bothered by him much b/c that leaves space for Sang Min to enter lol He was full of jealousy/envy/greed - Sang Min never did anything to him, but Seok Joo hated him from the moment he saw him - why? b/c he had "everything" he didn't <pathetic isn't it?! He meets Jung Min (Hwang Jung Eum) by accident and ends up having an affair with her and when he finds out who she is, he pulls away from Seo Young and chases after the things he never had - and he doesn't care what it costs him to get there - he was angry so often - such a pathetic "man" -
I never hated Jung Min, she was just lead the wrong way and made bad choices - her acting was really good for a beginner.
Then we have a few supporting characters that I enjoyed watching: Hong Kyung Min & Yoon Hye Kyeong = cute couple lol, Park Eun Hye & her BF = another cute couple ^^

Music: I loved it, especially the song 'Throw Away' ??? ??? by ?? and ?? ?? ??? by Melo Breeze ^_^ These songs really let you feel the emotions of the drama.

I think I would re-watch this, especially from episode 6 and up - b/c I loved Sang Min so much ^_^
If you want to watch a really well written drama then check this one out - just be warned, there is an open ending - so you can decide what happened lol

Funny and sweet. This is how I describe Reply 1997, it may not be the best one but if you like RomComs, you shouldn’t miss this series. The first episodes didn’t appeal so much to me, I honestly think they’re a bit monotonous at times and I nearly drop it though it gets better in the end. Here is my personally assessment:

Strengths:
? The Cast – I have to say,THE CAST DID A WONDERFUL JOB. The characters’ acting is spot on. They’re lovable, adorable and amusing. All of them are commendable.
? “No, you’re so ugly I’m in shock” - this got to be one of my favorite lines in the series. The writer did a great job in arranging the punch line. Humorous lines, thrown at the right time.
? Though I figured out the “mystery” part early on the series, it didn’t make it any less charming.

Weaknesses:
? I just think it could’ve been shorter, maybe 10 episodes or less. Some of the scenes are redundant (though some are funny).
? The appearances of the characters didn’t compliment the time that have passed. I mean 10 or so years ago how come they still wear and have the same hairstyle and fashion statement. It didn’t have much difference, it’s like they’re still the same as yesterday.
? NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. The story started when they were teenagers, then it ended like they're still teenagers. Maybe the writer wants to be teenager forever lol.

I didn’t give a 10 since nothing is so special about it. Though it is endearing and loveable, I laughed and felt nostalgic but that’s it. I love the cast but that doesn’t make it a 10, I would be biased if I will do that.
