When teen dramas like this tackle the most sensitive issues, you can't help but scrutinize how they're done. And in GTO it is done with simple words that belie their profoundness.
I can say, at this point, this is the episode I liked the most because it had made me feel connected. This has made me go back to the times when I could have said better things to friends who have seriously thought about ending their own lives because of depression.
'So please never tell me again you want to die
Because I was so worried about you
Because you are my friend
It is sad when a friend dies.'
This is where I appreciate Sensei the most--the test papers drenched crimson red, the talk with Urumi at the hospital.
And while all these were happening, the drama still manages to fuse the other issues all together--the build-up stories for Miyabi and Kikuchi, the thwarted plan to kick sensei out of school and there's even room for Fuyutsuki's growing admiration.

All I could do was clench my fists and glare at the screen. Asahina was crushing him and Hyuga just pitifully raged at his former employees.
But wth man, you can't push her away anymore! Go Natsui~! You're his only source of strength now, he needs you but the man's so thick he doesn't knows what he wants!

I haven't seen the earlier version of GTO so I can't compare.

Where are we in this drama besides the side stories that kept on moving forward past the supposed main one?
No, don't get me wrong. These stories are fine and witty. But I would have appreciated it if there had been any development for Jung Hwan since Episode 9. His silence is frustrating and while we watch him suffer like that when she had been giving him signs, I realize it might mean one thing: not the one. But I'm not sure and we're at Episode 14 already.
After a few episodes from Taekki's match in China, his loss after a 10-hour match, the flasher incident, and the souvenir from Japan, the latter part now leans towards him more than JH. But see in between a few interactions between Duk Seon and Taekki vav Duk Seon and JH, none of the boys had the courage to confess. So now, I'm not so sure how to invest my feelings on a character this late in a story. I hope the next episodes help me out a bit.

The gang fights over the last slice of pizza and the one who tells the most pitiful thing about one's self gets to eat it.
Sun Woo trumps them all with what they considered as most pitiful: he has a huge crush on someone for two years now and he couldn't 'fess up.
How you'll know it's misleading: a guy is most likely not to reveal that to a group of friends in front of the girl he likes. He would have just talked to the guys in the group instead. But he's so comfortable telling his friends and actually accepting Duk Seon's suggestion that you can't help but notice that he's not in the least bit embarrassed to do so.

This is the best episode I've seen so far. After the waiting game and almost losing my temper with Shan Shan for thinking too much, she finally understands how celebrating Valentine's can't compare to the loss Feng Teng has to remember on this date.
At first, I made the mistake of taking these scenes as a simple passing of events when in fact it led to one wonderful revelation to another. :)
Another reason for this being a great episode is the major development of the second leads. I am rooting so hard for Zheng QI. Even though the man is a bit of a player, he's the best bestie a man could ever have.

When watching an episode of TEN, the creepy feeling is always there; it never really goes away but intensifies or subsides depending on the moment.
This episode perhaps was one of the creepiest I've seen so far because it had elements of lewdness and repulsion, revenge of the unlikeliest person who'd commit it, the inability to trust one's senses--eyes, nose and ears--and that one hauntingly sad song that opened and closed the episode. The saddest part was, the murderer discovering that she unknowingly killed the person who wanted to protect her.
But at the end of the day, the case is solved with another confession and gets tied up, yet again, to Prof. Yeo Ji Hoon's personal experience. At the ending scene, Ye Ri reports to Ji Hoon that the case is now closed after the testimony. Ji Hoon replies, asking whether the motive of the murderer was revenge but Ye Ri responds, 'She wanted to take away the guilt he had for not protecting the her. To be free now.' And she fell silent and remained standing there looking at him until he raised his eyes to her. For a brief moment they held a curious eye contact, and while Detective Baek Doksa broke the trance, the truth was held off for another time.

A potted makahiya plant sits near the window sill of a murdered police investigator's house. The plant, a 'gift' from an unknown serial killer/drug dealer, has the words 'Noli Me Tangere' engraved on its pot. Touch me not. But ironically, the death of the detective sparks a deeper investigation of the root of the murder, including previous cases of suicide where victims commonly had traces of a specific drug in their bodies before their death.
Det. Baek Dok Sa immerses himself on field, emotionally attached as he is to the case. As it progresses, friction starts to strain the relationship between the veteran and the office-bound SAT captain. But Dok Sa has his leads; he already knows who he needs to pin down and will not be hindered.
By the end of the episode, the case is closed, the veteran and the captain exchanging honorifics to each other, Nam Ye Ri ripping the plastic off a cactus plant and getting pricked (he told you so, sweetie), and the captain sitting alone in the deserted bar, silently crying over a picture he holds in his hand.

What is with this episode that had me tearing up? It was probably the best confession scene I've seen from an incredibly rude, arrogant, self-centered a$$hole to a martyr.
Jiang Zhi Shu: 'No, you can't like anybody else. The one you like is me.'
me: *whaaat....selfish AND arrogant* -_-#
Xiang Qin: 'What is this confidence? Yes, fine. I like you. But what can I do? You don't like me at all.'
And then bam! IT happens. He's wet, she's wet. They share a wet kiss in the rain. They embrace while they get drenched some more. And my face is all wet with tears. TT____TT Whaaaat!?
Was it the execution? Was it the perfect cue of the music? Was it because finally after all her stupidity and martyrdom, and after all his rude attitude and coldness, he finally admits it and realizes he never wanted to let her go?

Solnan has always been cool and collected; even though the enormous anger within her was screaming through her pores, her countenance belied the feeling.
At court, Taeja Cheonha presents the men believed to be the perpetrators of the massacre in Widows' Village. To make sure that they clearly identify the right suspects, the court calls upon the witness purportedly the lone survivor of the massacre: the [fake] gongju cheonha.
After a few minutes of inspecting them, she suddenly becomes hysterical--remembering the masked men's eyes while they whacked away at her parents. Yes, these were the men who murdered her parents! Oh, but then it didn't stop there.
In her usual calm stance, Solnan drops the bomb: they are Jinmu-gung's retainers.

Solnan started on a small doubt which quickly grew into a nagging hunch and finally set her into motion.
Her tattoo is the strongest evidence, and Solhi's lie about her age is second. I can't wait what happens next and for how much longer until the hidden identities are exposed.

This episode is so good I had to pause it several times to let myself breathe and relax. But from the last five minutes to the end, I didn't even know I held my breath at the intensity of what was happening on screen.

The war of deceptive words and hidden motives are over, Liu Bei scion of the Imperial house of Han and Cao Cao the usurper take their differences to the battlefield--a long-awaited war for hegemony and new order.
But Cao Cao is just too sly to deal with. After stifling the city with an encirclement, Cao Cao lures Liu Bei out of the city and dupes him into thinking his camp has suffered too many casualties. Liu Bei falls into the trap and his men are ruthlessly killed on the encampment. Liu Bei retreats while the pursuing enemy troops shoot his men down. In desperation, he stands on a precipice and apologizes to the ancestors how useless he is, how now, he's ready to jump down a cliff and accept defeat.
But then at the last minute help shows up!
