Not a flavorful pie
Well, that was an experience. Yup.......I will always imagine what could have been. My expectations should have been really lowered, and ready to just enjoy the visuals, the fan service, the music, and having "The Tongue" as a guest star, in this incomplete plot, lack of characterization, ode to 1950's housewives, who need their husbands to control everything in their small little world. Especially making sure, that they're "cutie pies, who are never naughty"!I never realized that folks really enjoy seeing two 20 year-old, college students, being chastised, manipulated, and gaslit by their older lovers.

Healthy Love vs. Possessive Love
I love the storyline between Leon and Pob. I know that the draw for this series is Leo and Fiat, but I kept getting off put by all of the red flags in their pairing. The love that developed between Leon and Pob took themselves AND the viewers by surprise. How it was written, developed, and their heartbreaking, but healthy, loving, supportive, and realistic "ending" was wonderful to see.
I think I may have to skip the next tv adaption of the next Mame project. She definitely has these issues regarding consent and possessiveness that aren't appealing to me as a viewer.

Sweetness Abounds
"Kieta Hatsukoi" aka "Vanishing My First Love" is a wonderful series about going through the confusion, turmoil, fear, and scary joy of realizing that you're in love with someone and finding the courage to face those feelings head-on, in order to confess to that person. I love that the series doesn't forget about how important friendship is, to have people in your life, that will also support your journey down this path. I love the humor that this show has, in telling this funny, touching, and sweet romantic journey of Aoki, Ida, Akkun, and BFF Hashimoto.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Softporn Farce Using BL Tropes
Bad Buddy Butt is a straight up (excuse the pun) sortporn farce, taking jabs at the BL genre. Most BL stories use forced sexual situations and rape to get their two boy characters together, while set in the fantastical and always high school/college world. This time, this farce has placed their characters in the realm of a police drama. Hiro and Mamoru are policemen (not really good at their jobs), who mostly fantasize about one another. A masked man (on his own mission to make their village GAY), targets one of them.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Bite Me is terrific!!!
The pace is slow, but I believe that's something that the director wanted to set for the series. I have no problem with it. I am just loving that I am seeing a BL story that is attempting to show gay male characters as professional working adults. That Aek is bridging the gap between college and establishing a career in a field that he loves. That Aue has been basically in love with him, from the moment that Aek stepped inside of his kitchen. I don’t doubt Aek's love for Aue at all. It makes sense that he has doubts about his feelings, because he's never let himself focus on anything else other than getting his college degree to make his Mother happy. Also, it's great to see the younger gay male character having issues with his own acceptance. If it's too slow, challenging to understand, and it seems, not enough sexual scenes, please do yourselves a favor, put yourselves out of your own self-inflicted injury and stop watching.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Pastel Candy Coated Amazement!!
When I initially saw the trailer for this series, I said that this would be "pastel candy coated trope for the young ones!"I never, ever could have foreseen how wonderful this series would turn out to be. Turning certain overused tropes to show, how the "outcasts" have every right to be front, and center, so that they too can be seen as the preferred, desired, adored, appreciated, respected, and loved ones of the popular class. That they too have every right to be seen in a BL, as not the laughing stock, not the undesirable ones, not the ones being made fun of, but the ones that are praised. The characters of Toh, Jao, Som, and Daisy will be remembered, due to their true bond that was established in the writing for their characters, and their strong, supportive, loving, understanding, and caring friend base.
How Nuea, Sky, and Intouch were able to be portrayed as the emotional, caring, understanding, and at times, insecure guys, that also needed to affirmations, confirmations, and declarations of their love accepted, and returned by Toh, Jao, and Daisy.
Even the messaging was done in a creative, fun, and important way.
Bravo to everyone connected to this series. I'm definitely ready to see what Saint, and Idol Factory have in store for us with "Gap The Series", starring Freen, and Becky!!

A surprising gem
"Second Chance" was such a lovely and surprising gem of a series, that I think got overlooked due to when it was released. The topic of bullying, especially the domestic violence that Jeno experienced with his abusive boyfriend Arthur was addressed head on as a problem, that the school officials had to stop, that the fellow students had to bring to the teachers and officials attention, that friends wouldn't let their fellow friend and classmate deal with it on their own. I really loved that the writer of this series did not romanticized the bullying, as something that happens because one young man couldn't handle their attraction towards another young man. I also loved that the female characters were not used in the stereotypical "evil, crazy, obessive girl" roles that are always present in these BL stories. They were there to support whatever role that was needed for these storylines.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Mr. Pacemaker, you are a dream!!
Sangha has been in the shadows and background of Jinwoo's life for awhile now, but he discovers him for the very first time as his "pacemaker". I loved this storyline, due to Jinwoo realizing that he really wanted Sangha in his life and in his heart, much more than for his professional career. I also loved that Sangha made sure that Jinwoo knew that he wanted him to want him to be in his life.I really liked that Jinwoo's friend gave him a reality check about how Jinwoo needed to be able to make his own way in life, because he wasn't looking for a rich, handsome, and successful boyfriend to save him.
He just wanted Jinwoo to return his love and affection.

2 Moons - The O.G.
The acting was fine, but I'm again still wondering why so many BL writers have to put in scenes in their novels, which belittle the serious topic of rape. In this adaption, I counted at least 3 to 5 scenes, in which the topic of rape was used in a joke to the Wayo character. I also found it particular how Wayo's attractiveness was stated in a way, that made it seem necessary that his "cuteness" was another way to point out his manliness was somehow different from Phana.I liked how supportive Wayo and Phana's friends were in their encouragement of their relationship.

What Are We?!
I really enjoyed this short gay film. I especially loved, that it was interactive and allowed the audience to have a hand in selecting the ending for the characters. How Davey and Anton wondered about their feelings for one another, is something that is very relatable and something that is questioned by millions of people, regardless of their gender and/or their known sexuality.
I liked how their friends helped, in their own ways to support them, in their journey, to accept one another.
Another great gem from the Philippines!!

A Compelling Drama About Real-Life Situations
I know that BL series should stay in the nice, sweet, and preferably sexy fantasy-land world of boys loving boys, no matter how they get together. This series is not one of those dramas and I am so surprised that this project was given the greenlight and produced. The cyber-bullying, harrassment, manipulation, stalking, and ultimate rape of Shin by his senior classmate P'Keng wasn't portrayed as a slight bump on the path of their journey to becoming a couple.
The series correctly showed that P'Keng's growing interest in Shin, was seriously one-sided, to the point that Shin told his new friends, Bright and Pramote, that at times he felt very uncomfortable with P'Keng's attention towards him. Shin was always used to being in the background, with not getting noticed by anyone. Unfortunately, he caught the eye of P'Keng and his life, (along with Peng's) as he knew it at that point, was never the same again. Shin idolized P'Keng. He looked up to him as a mentor, role model, and a friend. He even told P'Keng, that he had no issue with P'Keng being gay and attracted towards men, that "love was love".
How the series and the actors filmed and portrayed the scenes leading up to Shin's rape by P'Keng, the aftermath (Shin's sense of self GONE, his trust in his own judgement GONE, his belief that he was the one "at fault in making" P'Keng's rape him, led to his own failed attempt to end his life), while P'Keng's parents pay off Shin to cover up their son's behavior, because in their minds, "it wasn't a big thing", was very true to life. Even P'Keng in his delusion, truly believes that his rape of Shin, was him expressing his "love" for him. He needed to believe that his violent rape of Shin, was because Shin didn't want to accept his confession of love, after P'Keng's obessesive friend, Man, posted pictures and lies about the real relationship between Shin and P'Keng, due to his own jealously, that P'Keng didn't want him.
I even liked how the series end: both Shin and P'Keng wondering to themselves, that if they had tried to be honest with one another from the very moment that they met, maybe things wouldn't have resulted in such a way.

Ingredients - Pure, perfect, simple, direct, and honest
This mini web-series was amazing. I'm so glad that I finally found the time to watch Win (Jeff) and Top (Gameplay) in this lovely drama. I know that this project was connected towards an online campaign for a grocery store, but TPTB really made all the right moves in showcasing the non-acting talents of Jeff and Gameplay, into making this series and turning it into something much more entertaining. I hope that TPTB in the Thailand BL genre, will take note that you can create something really intimate, interesting, and contained in a 10 minute segment and turn it into a web-series for viewers to enjoy.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Teh made a huge mistake!!!
I am going to ramble here, because I am still on a high from watching "I Promised You The Moon"This sequel was just amazing, even the heartbreaking parts, which were so hard to watch. This cast is so talented. I'm surprised that Billkin and PP haven't been in more tv series, because they are terrific performers. Billkin (IMO), was able to portray the confusion of Teh and how he grew to not understand that both he and Oh-Aew would change. That change is apart of life and growing beyond the interests that you loved previously, doesn't mean that the person's love for you has diminished. Teh was jealous of every new thing and person that came into Oh-Aew's life, during their early years of college. Yet, Oh-Aew never behaved that way towards him. He knew that Teh needed to be apart of the creative world of acting. How Teh immersed himself in his theater group with his mentors Khim, Top, and Jai reminds me of how much of a theater geek, I used to be. Everything that he learned, Teh felt like he could conquer the acting world, as long as he had Oh-Aew by his side. He never kept Teh from that goal. Oh-Aew even tried to believe that Teh's interest in Jai, was purely for him to grow into a better actor. As for the whole Jai situation: I cannot and will not place ALL the blame of the breakup between Teh and Oh-Aew on him. Teh let himself have real feelings for this man, because he thought that they had a true connection over the joy and love of acting. Teh let himself write how he felt about Oh-Aew and the changes he was going through in that journal, which he kept from sharing with his boyfriend. How Teh hurt Oh-Aew was totally on his shoulders and he spent over a year regretting his behavior. PP as Oh-Aew just made me adore him. How Oh-Aew allowed himself to blossom into the wonderful out gay young man, who embraced his feminine side was a relavation. How homesick and lonely he was, even when he had Teh by his side in the early years, shows how even when you have a boyfriend or girlfriend in your life, you definitely need to be secure in who you are and love who you are as an individual. His group of fellow out gay college friends were such the support group that he needed. Ta as Q reminds me of James as Pob from the "Don't Say No" series. How Teh realized, that even though he was starting to achieve everything that he truly believed that he wanted: a thriving career as an working actor, he was miserable without Oh-Aew. His future was nothing without the man, that he loved. I mean, Oh-Aew knew him and his life so well. It was realistic that Oh-Aew threw himself into his career and kept single, because he knew that he truly wasn't over Teh AND that he didn't want to give false hope to another guy, who likes him, after what happened with his first boyfriend Bas all those years ago.I screamed when I saw Bas on the screen. It took me awhile to recognize Tarn.I will rewatch this series, along with I Told The Sunset About You on a yearly basis.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Yes Winston, Jamie's the one
I have watched probably 3 to 5 Pinoy BL series and I have to say, that they should be categorized as true LGBTQ+ productions. These series are projects that I am familiar with seeing produced from small indie LGBTQ+ film companies here in the US, UK, and Europe. Companies with not alot of financial backing, but with the mindset of creating films for LGBTQ+ viewers. I actually loved the premise of the story and I am so glad that Heart wasn't written to be a shrew and Jordan wasn't written and portrayed into being this effeminate predatory man. Winston's love and devotion towards Heart and their friendship, is what made him try to find her a new guy to win her heart. Also, his attention to her love life, kept Winston from doing anything regarding his own chance at happiness. Once Jamie saw him from looking at Heart's post on the Pinoy version of Facebook, he was all about winning Winston for himself. I'm glad that Jamie announced that he just couldn't make himself fall for Heart, when he had already given his heart to Winston. I still find it sad that mostly female viewers think that Heart was a meddlesome and unnecessary character in the storyline. I hope the creator is able to get another season.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Change has got to come
I am a very recent new viewer of the BL genre and from what I have read regarding certain things, situations, and incidents that are and have happened within this industry, I say that some changes need to take place, in the hopes that the genre can grow in an healthy, positive, entertaining way, while STILL being able to make a profit, without it being this huge mind-fuck to the actors that go into this industry, hoping to make it as an professional performer. Now, I don't think it was very smart to have the main couple, Ait (the replacement young actor) and James (the replacement new director), centered in the story, because there is the whole issue of power and position that will be focused on, regardless of the fact that their relationship is a consensual pairing. I do appreciate that the writing established the worries and fears James had in admitting and sharing his feelings for Ait, but I think that pairing shouldn't have been created. What I did like was that the relationship regarding the young actors was based on them establishing a mutual partnership wuth one another. A support system that is needed for them to create the feelings that are vital for them to be able to portray their in love onscreen characters. Now, what I don't get is the need for making these actors live together, being made to stay around each other ALL the time, and the frankly disturbing request of them sharing the same bed. Would this request even be acceptable if we were referring to a male actor and a female actress?!This series has brought up way too many things that have to be addressed within this industry along with the things that we as viewers within the fanbase have to stop thinking is acceptable, because it's "fantasy"!
