I'm pleasantly surprised with this drama. It's not just some fluffy story showing first love scenarios but it also delivered a deep message of self-acceptance or self-love and the struggles of achieving mental wellness. It also showcased the importance of true friendship, family and reaching for your dreams no matter how trivial it seems to other people. I especially liked the line, "Find your own kind of Sparkle".The actors did very well on their roles and you can feel the angst and other range of emotions that we all went through at some point in our lives.
You'll also develop a second lead syndrome. The 2nd lead is equally amazing and there are times you'll wish he ends up with the female lead. This is highly recommended for those looking for inspiring messages. This is one of my favorite Japanese drama now.

The story started with a fascinating premise but failed to deliver. The "Abyss" is a magical marble which gave them another chance at life with a different physical appearance but their fingerprints, DNA and the like remains the same. That's how Cha Min (Ahn Hyo Seop) proved to his mother who he was when he came back as a very good-looking man. On the other hand, Go Se Yeon ( Park Bo Young) came back with a "common face". I didn't like this a bit because I think Park Bo Young is beautiful and isn't in the category of a "common face". Both Go Se Yeon and Cha min have been best friends for 20 years and apparently Se Yeon "liked him" once in awhile during those years of friendship. I mean Hello? It's too obvious that she started looking at him as a man only when he came back as a handsome guy. For me, this is just a shallow reason for her to finally "fall in love" with him. Of course, his character has admirable traits and an added bonus was his new easy-to-look-at face. But the sparks and chemistry just didn't happen. They do look good together and their relationship was showcased on the last 4 episodes but it wasn't convincing enough.
As for the mystery and suspense part, it was interesting enough but dragging. There was a point where I wanted to drop the show but you'll be curious enough to finish it. Lastly, I'm a big fan of Park Bo Young and it's also one of the reason why I had to finish it. Her acting's good but it's not her fault that the story fell flat at the end especially when the "Abyss" wasn't really explained fully.

I've looked into the Japanese manga version and the ending was bittersweet. Most of the time, I go for dramas with happy endings since I don't want to feel sad and cry my heart out when it ends. So, I didn't plan to start watching this drama at all, thinking that a love between a robot and a human is doomed from the very start and would just lead to heartache. But my curiosity got the better of me and I pressed play. I kept watching after that and wished for more episodes. The male leads are gorgeous and the female lead's acting is believable. You can see great chemistry building up even if it's between a robot and human. The script is great too and will pull at your heartstrings: "We shouldn't throw something away just because it's old and worn out. Things become precious not because of what they're worth but because of the memories they hold". I'm definitely looking forward to how this version will end. Now, who's with me?Update: I can't honestly say that I totally love this drama. It started with a good momentum but the sparks between main leads fizzled out towards the end. You'll also discover that the human ex-boyfriend was actually a good person who sincerely loves her. Although the robot was caring and loving, there were times when I wish she was dating a human. As I was watching this, I somehow couldn't wholeheartedly process a "love" between a human and robot. Although I understand the moral of the story that you have to cherish your feelings of true love and appreciate it in every moment, the reality is that you'll never grow old with a robot. The robot stays the same while the human changes physically.
I didn't regret watching this though because there were cute and fun scenes in between but I was taken aback by the haphazard ending. They could have made it clearer and not let the viewers make guesses.

Surprisingly Good!
Wow! This was a surprisingly good short story! I loved how they built the tension between the characters and how the emotions of betrayal were clearly depicted in just 5 short episodes. The pacing of the story was well done and the actors delivered. It was also balanced with the strength of lasting friendship and sweetness of finding true love.I also liked the sound of the drinks being prepared, from the opening of the bottle, the clinking of ice cubes and hissing sound of fizz. It sounded so relaxing and convinces you that you needed a drink right away.
Last but not the least, the visuals of Bae In Hyuk is no joke. The boy is seriously good-looking! Not also forgetting the sweetest lip-lock close up. Hurry and watch it ASAP. ❤

Update: Main female lead is doing an awesome job playing a blind prima ballerina who became bitter due to the tragic incidents in her life. She was well-chosen for this role with her graceful limbs and expressive face. The storyline is compelling and draws you in immediately with its believable CGI, especially when the main male lead unfurled his wings. It also has beautiful cinematography. As you keep going, the story makes your heart ache for the main leads. How can a human and an angel end up together? Can a different circumstance of becoming an angel create a different ending? There's a lot of questions that you'll hear all throughout the story. It also asks what the will of God is especially if you're a believer or why others have to suffer and why unfairness in life exist. Questions that are difficult to answer. It will make you tear up while watching and hope for a good ending. Will true love win in the end?
Sure, this drama has flaws but it will truly at some point remind you of the importance of your life and how well you're living it.
Favorite lines: "Because it has an ending, you have no idea how brilliant each day is. Because it's not forever, we want to promise eternally". "I will make it like a day is a thousand years."
By the way, did I mention the soundtrack? It's all moving and well-chosen for this drama. I'm going to add it all on my music queue.

Overall, this was a nice, uplifting story. Shin Sung Rok has very strong features and plays a bad guy well. This is the first time I've seen him as the main lead getting the girl. He's not your typical male "exuding handsomeness" lead or "flower boy" lead but he showed his funny and softer side. I didn't like his hairstyle here since it made him look odd but I guess it fits the role of an eccentric and genius fashion designer. The main female leads Go Won Hee and Ha Jae Sook did very well too. Cha Ye Ryun is still gorgeous and svelte after having a baby. Her shine didn't diminish at all. Also, don't get me started about Kim Min Kyu since he's cute and deserves to be the main lead in another new drama. Enough said. :)As a side note, thinking that a plus size woman doesn't deserve respect and love, shows how shameful our society has become. People are obsessed with what beauty should look like, depending on which country they lived. In Asia where I was born, milky white skin is considered beautiful because of our darker color. Whitening soaps and whitening lotions abound everywhere. You can even have your skin "bleached" if you can afford it. In contrast, when I moved to the U.S., darker skin was viewed to be more beautiful and people try to get a tan or apply tanning lotions to get that "golden" look. It's the same with bodies, mostly everyone is obsessed with being skinny. It's partly endorsed by our media.
Although this drama shows the difference between a slim and a plus size woman, that's not what the main story is all about. You'll actually get lessons on what's really important in life. It's not the looks that really matters but how we carry and value ourselves. It also shows someone who loves a woman beyond her appearance and embracing all she is.

I saw this on Prime and it was hot. Gong Yoo is sizzling and so are the sexy scenes. Great chemistry between the two leads and the scenes between them were done tastefully. The story line was moving and the impact of what extramarital affairs can do between two people and their family is well told and portrayed. I detest cheating but I watched this because of the superb acting. I wish they'll just get out of an unhappy marriage instead of cheating. I also wish they'll find happiness somehow. Anyway, if you're just here to see great acting by the main leads, then go ahead and watch it. Esta resenha foi útil para você?

I'm spellbound by this movie. It has suspense and romance merged beautifully. It shows how people can be lonely due to circumstances but somehow manage to endure it more than others. The cast did an awesome job. The main leads have great interaction and I liked how their relationship progressed from friends to lovers. I also liked the friends of the female lead and how they talked about different kisses. There's also comedic relief during end credits. That scene was hilarious when the main lead's partner tried to pick up a ghost. Definitely not a waste of your time. Esta resenha foi útil para você?
