Actor Choi Won Young has confirmed his first K-drama for 2025.
On November 27, it was officially confirmed that Choi Won Young would join the cast of the upcoming Disney+ K-drama The Murky Stream.
This will be his follow-up project after Family by Choice and his first K-drama for next year.
The actor is praised for his brilliant performance in Family by Choice. In it, he showcased the role of a good single father to his own child and others.
In 2024, Choi Won Young became busy and starred in the works Hierarchy, Land of Happiness, and Family by Choice.
The upcoming K-drama will also be his comeback to the historical genre after three years. He last starred in the historical genre through the 2022 series Under the Queen's Umbrella.
Choi Won Young is known for being part of the K-dramas Twinkling Watermelon, The Golden Spoon, Doctor Prisoner, SKY Castle, and more.
The Murky Stream is a historical drama set in Joseon, where the once pure Gyeonggang River now reflects a lawless land. The series follows the intertwined destinies of three men.
The upcoming K-drama will be led by Ro Woon, Shin Ye Eun, Park Seo Ham, Park Ji Hwan, Jeon Bae Soo, and Choi Gwi Hwa.
Choi Won Young will portray the role of Prince Dae Ho who has a great ambition in changing what's happening in Joseon. He is also the uncle of Princess So Ho.
Director Choo Chang Min (Seven Years of Night, Masquerade, Late Blossom, and Lost in Love) and writer Chun Sung Il (All of Us Are Dead, L.U.C.A.: The Beginning, Your Honor, and King the Land) will work together to create the K-drama.
The Murky Stream will premiere in 2025 and it will exclusively be available on Disney+.
