Ahn Jae Hong will possibly reunite with "Be Melodramatic" director in the upcoming drama "Sweet and Sour Chicken."
On September 21st, media outlet Sports Chosun shared that Ahn Jae Hong has been picked as one of the main leads of the upcoming fantasy thriller drama "Sweet and Sour Chicken."
"Sweet and Sour Chicken" will base its story on the webtoon of the same name by Park Ji Dok. It will tell the story of Mina who turned into a sweet and sour chicken because of a mysterious machine. His father and the intern of the machinery company will work together to bring her back to being human. In the process, they will discover hidden secrets about the deaths and disappearance of people with unknown clues.
Actor Ryu Seung Ryong was the first to get confirmed to star in the drama. If Ahh Jae Hong also accepted the offer, this will be the main leads' reunion with director Lee Byung Hun. Ryu Seung Ryong worked with the director through the hit film "Extreme Job" while Ahn Jae Hong worked with the director through the series "Be Melodramatic."
Ahn Jae Hong got the offer to play the role of Ko Baek Joong. He is an intern at the machinery company and has a crush on the CEO's daughter named Mina.
"Sweet and Sour Chicken" will officially begin filming this November. The upcoming series will exclusively premiere on the global OTT platform Netflix.
Ah Jae Hong is booked and busy with dramas and films. The actor is set to star in the upcoming movies "High Five" and "Rebound." He will also lead the 2023 Netflix drama "Mask Girl" with Go Hyun Jung, After School's Nana, Yeom Hye Ran, and Choi Daniel.
