Here is another article I wrote with my sister. Again, we have totally different writing styles so we each wrote our own thoughts and I pieced it together. I hope you enjoy our second attempt at collaborating.
When my sister (Melwill28) and I decided to write the female version of the eye-candy syndrome, we started by picking the actresses that we think fit as eye-candy. What we realized quickly is that none of the actress that we picked have acted in what we would call a “flop”. So, we are writing this from a different perspective. These are actresses that we love and will watch anything that they are in regardless of plot or character. I hope that if any of you can think of a drama or movie that you watched only for the FEMALE eye-candy, that you will write about it in the comments. 1st on the list is...OOOOOH Sexy Mama!!!
Ha Ji Won is an amazingly beautiful woman. The plus side is that she can act too. I have seen her on a few variety shows in which she rarely participates. She is pretty, even without all the extra makeup. I even like the sound of her voice. She has played everything from action to comedy. She stars in Sex is Zero(I haven’t seen this yet) which is the second highest grossing comedy movie in South Korea. For Sector 7, she obtained a license for driving a motorcycle and scuba diving. She is well known for shooting her own stunts which to me is just crazy. After the filming of movie Sector 7 (I now need to find this with English subs), she sought psychiatric therapy because her previous character was negatively influencing her role in Secret Garden. Now, if that isn’t immersing yourself in a character, then I don’t know what is. For only being 34, she has won a lot of awards. She deserves them all.. I can’t wait for her next drama, but for now I will just have to satisfy myself with her newly released movie, The Huntresses (if anyone will sub it). Ha Ji Won is just amazing. I don’t think I have disliked her in anything I’ve watched her in. Her character in What Happened in Bali is just weepy and indecisive. She usually doesn’t play that type of role. Even though her character is a big cry baby, I still think she did an excellent job acting out the role. She is still one of the most beautiful actresses I have watched in Korean Dramas. She is one of those actresses that I really want to watch everything she has done and will do in the future. I have seen a few of the shows she has done like: King2Hearts and Secret Garden (both of which are DAEBAK). I have also watched a couple of her movies like: 100 Days with Mr.Arrogant andHaeundae. I would suggest that everyone try her shows because she never disappoints.
Yoon Eun Hye is gorgeous. She started out as a singer (I bet some of you didn’t know that), then transferred to variety and finally to acting. I’m so glad she did. The first time I watched her was Coffee Prince. I admit that I quit at episode 3 because I thought that it was ridiculous that this beautiful woman was perceived as a boy. My sister convinced me to try again, and I fell in love with her and the drama. Now, I have seen everything that she has been in except The Vinyard Man. Not only is she pretty and a good actress, but she is sweet. I read an article that after the drama, Take Care of the Young Lady (which is also on my favorites list; I don’t understand why more people don’t like it) she gave everyone Puma shoes. She secretly found out the production crews shoe size, ordered them, and passed the pairs out one by one to each of the production staff. To me that makes her even prettier. Don’t let that cute and sweet fool you though. She has a smexy side to her...
Oh beauty is thy name…Yoon Eun Hye! She is just too pretty. I think she has the most gorgeous eyes. I love her smile as well. I have watched everything she has been in except Take Care of the Young Lady. Not sure why I haven’t watched it yet…OH YEAH! It could be that long list of dramas/movies I am currently watching. I have it on my PTW list, and I think it may be the next older drama that I watch just so I can say I have watched everything she has been in…LOL! I have no problem watching it because I have basically loved everything else so far. Bring it on I think I will like it too.
Park Shin Hye is very young eye-candy at the ripe old age of 23. Don’t let her age fool you as she has already starred in the third highest grossing Korean film of all time, Miracle in Cell No. 7. I really don’t understand why these beautiful women play gender bender roles as Park Shin Hye does in You’re Beautiful. Again, another drama that I almost dropped because I thought it was ridiculous for her to be pretending to be a boy, but she does an excellent job. Plus, most everyone know she is not a boy in that drama, so it isn’t as bad to watch. She also sings OSTs for that drama that are really good.
I have enjoyed all of her dramas even Heartstrings, which so many people don’t like. I’m excited to see her in the upcoming drama,Heirs.
OK! So, Park Shin Hye really does have an issue with being in the role of the “forgiver” in the dramas I have watched so far. I haven’t watched everything with her in it yet, but she caught me when I watched You’re Beautiful. Even though it is a drama where she pretends to be a boy (like who would believe that), she did a really good job acting her role. I totally wanted her and Jung Yong Hwa (sexy eye candy there…MMMMMMMMMM) to get together. I was ok with the ending, but only after they got to do the whole romance thing in Heartstrings (which I almost died watching, because of all the HOTNESS). I am sooooooo envious of her because she has gotten to kiss some major hotties (Yoon Shi Yoon, Jung Yong Hwa, & Jang Geun Suk)…I totally hate her! Not really. I just wish I could be her for like 5 minutes just to know what those kisses felt like. If she gets to kiss Lee Min Ho…OMG what would I do???
When I think of Shin Min Ah, I think of her bright smile and shining eyes. My favorite roles are when she plays outgoing characters, because her eyes twinkle when she is mischievous. She is a really talented actress that has been in dramas and movies with some pretty high profile actors including Jang Hyuk and Jo In Sung. She started modeling at the age of 14 and now at the age of 29 is one of the most sought after actress. I have watched all of her dramas that I can find with English subs. I loved her in A Love to Kill. I plan on a movie marathon soon. Although I usually see her as innocent in my mind, my thoughts changed after seeing the photo shoot that she did for Elle Korea with Calvin Klein model Jamie Dorman. That is a pretty sexy photo shoot. Check it out for yourself...
This girl hit my radar when I watched My Mighty Princess. She is just too cute. I have only watched My Mighty Princess and Arang and the Magistrate, but have much more of her on my PTW list because she became one of my faves. I think she is able to pull off anything, and I can’t wait to watch more of her acting. I think the next drama of hers that I will watch is My Girlfriend is a Gumiho(everyone keeps telling me it’s great). She is another actress that has gotten some lip smacking kisses I would die for (Lee Jun Ki). If she kisses Rain (1 of my fave pieces of eye candy…come back to me soon please) in A Love to Kill I will just die of envy! DIE! I may not watch it just to keep from seeing her mack out with Rain. BUT! I will watch it because I love her acting. I think she is amazing so far. Who could say no to that? NOBODY! Totally going to watch that one soon.

Honestly, I have only seen a couple of her dramas and a couple of her movies, but I love Song Ji Hyo. I wacth her mostly on Running Man (Korean variety show).
I think she has got to be one of the most beautiful women in the world. Seriously, not just out of Korea, but the world. I have seen her after she just woke up with no makeup on and she is daebak. She began her career by appearing in music videos. She was also an MC on Inkigayo and 2009 Dream Concert with Super Junior’s Heechul. After I saw her in Codename: Jackalwith KimJae Joong, I found out that she has been in a JYJ music video which I just love.

I'm now watching her in Heaven's Order, and she is just as beautiful as ever. I enjoyed watching her and the rest of the cast on Happy Together (Korean variety show).
Song Ji Hyo is one of the most amazing actresses I know. She has been in several dramas/movies. I am currently watching her in Heaven’s Order (so good). I loved her in Goong, Codename: Jackal, and A Frozen Flower(not a family film). My most fave show to watch her in is Running Man (Go Monday Couple). She is smart and funny. I love her ability to entertain without even trying. I am going to watch Gye Baek and Crime Squad. I am looking forward to her new movie The New World, because she is one of the best actresses. She is really good at showing people what true emotion should look like, even though she is known as “Blank Ace” on Running Man…LOL! Watching her dramas/movies makes me happy.

This woman is the reason I stared to watch Kdrama in the first place. My very first drama was Cinderella’s Sister. I loved that she was able to pull off the character of an emotionally traumatized child. I have seen several other dramas/movies she has done. I have loved every single one of them. She will always be my most faved actress of all time. I don’t care if she read the telephone book I would still watch it.
As I pondered the last article (Eye Candy Syndrome), I realized that there were actresses that I wanted to write about also. Each one is what I would call the female version of the disorder dubbed “Eye Candy Syndrome.” I have to watch them…not only because they are beautiful, but also because they are some bad@$$ actresses. I will watch anything these ladies act in because they almost always have great chemistry with the male leads and they are so beautiful that I am jealous. In most cases, this jealousy would make me hate them, but not with these ladies. They also have something about them that makes me like them no matter if they are in the role of the evil character or if they are being walked all over by those evil characters. Just like the male version of the “Eye-Candy Syndrome” the female version also makes me very happy when watching (mostly because they get to play opposite the hotness).
