Easily one of my favorites

I've watched K-Drama consistently as far back as Full House (with Rain and Song Hye Kyo) - I have to say, Lovely Runner has become one of my absolute favorites.

If you're the type of watcher that likes to overanalyze plots, is extremely bothered by 'plotholes' that arise because of the time slip concept — forgetting that time travel is preposterous to begin with — and the type that needs a back story for every single character that appears, including the villain (how many psychopaths are just what they are because they are? Answer: a lot), then some aspects of the drama will bother you.

I and a lot of others, found it refreshing, extremely charming, and difficult to part with the characters, just because they have grown so much on us, and we rooted so much for Sol and Sunjae's love to come true. I never felt such a satisfying end to a K-drama I loved all throughout years of watching as I did with this one. I have also never had such bad post-drama depression lol. I literally can't watch anything else even 2 weeks after it's ended because I'm so hungover on Lovely Runner.

Now, there are a lot of recently posted negative reviews for the drama. While I can get it may not be everyone's cup of tea — if you're reading this review, go give it a try anyway. Don't let reviews dictate what you might feel about a drama. After all, at the end of the day, it's all about personal preference.

Lovely Runner

This drama is truly a masterpiece, and its ability to draw viewers in is evident from the number of times fans rewatch it. Personally, I've already rewatched it 3 times, and each viewing brings new nuances and enjoyment, making it impossible to get bored.

The characters in "Lovely Runner" are incredibly well-developed and relatable. Each character brings something unique to the story, and their interactions are both heartwarming and intense. The depth of their emotions and the authenticity of their relationships make them memorable and endearing.

The plot of "Lovely Runner" is a perfect blend of romance, drama, and suspense. Esperanza y amor..

Solo quiero decir que en lo que va del año este es el mejor drama que vi.
Simplemente maravilloso.
Voy a extrañar mucho a Sunjae y Sol.
Voy a extrañar los lunes y martes de lovely runner.
Empezando por la gran actuación de mi princesa hermosa Hye Yoon y del guapisimo Woo Seok!
La música 10/10 (seguiré llorando cada vez que escuche Sonaki)

Me encanta el gran mensaje que nos deja: esperanza y amor verdadero, alguien que busque tu felicidad sin importar nada.

Solo 2 cositas que no me encantaron tanto:
1. Los personajes secundarios: lamentablemente me hubiera encantado decir que me gustaron todos, pero no fue así, me parecieron algunas escenas hasta molestas, lo digo por los personajes del papá de Sunjae y el hermano de Sol y la amiga. Algunas de esas escenas no dan ni gracia, no vienen al caso pero bueno.
Pero no todo es malo, puedo decir todo lo contrario de TaeSung y Baek In hyuk, excelentes personajes secundarios, me encantó que no hicieran un triangulo amoroso innecesario con TaeSung.
2. El psicopata: alargaron demasiado la trama . Me gustó el cierre que le dieron, pero lo hubieran hecho unos 2 episodios antes.
Pero esto no afecta lo mucho que me encantó el drama.

En fin, reí, lloré, grite, me estresé, volví a llorar y fui muy feliz con este drama.

You Will ALWAYS have to root for SOLJAE; 2014-2016-2020 K-Drama vibes

As I expected, I did not find the antagonist’s story good enough. I really wish there was more to it for it to be more believable because why in each timeline, he is there to somehow target either Im Sol or Sun-jae? I think it could have developed better if they didn't just pull the "because he is just a psycho & kills". Either that or used different antagonists and circumstances in each timeline, but I know that it would probably make this "light drama" heavier than it is.

The usual problem of romance & fantasy K-dramas is really using the fantasy aspect to the plot’s convenience, making the “world-building” unbelievable. By that, I mean the time travelling part can be changed as it goes on and there can be inconsistencies.

Those are the reasons I’m giving this drama a 4-star instead of a full 5. Despite it, I believe I’ve enjoyed it enough to disregard it, because the goal here really is to have THAT kind of ending for these characters. It is cliche; it follows a usual formula and you definitely want these two leads to end up together because, really, THAT IS THE POINT!

Overall, the pacing is ok but it can still be done in at least 10 to 12 episodes. The cast and acting is great. The two female and male leads have an exploding chemistry; the 2nd male lead also has great chemistry with the two which makes the drama have good bromance and love triangle. Lovely Runner woke me up from a drama slump and I miss dramas like this.

Romcom, romcoming right: The Ultimate Kdrama Starter-pack

It has crime and fantasy elements, but just as plot driver, doesn't change the genre much. It so focus on the main couple without too much filler scenes. Some parts have angsty tone (for me, mainly episode 1), but somehow I see them as filler only, so like I said before, not a lot of that. This is the type of drama that 100% will have happy ending. So all the angst doesn't give me stress at all. It just give boost to the romance narrative, like, "I love you more than the life itself."-narrative. The antagonist story is lame, doesn't worth to occupy your mind, just see him as plot driver. His ending is so quick, but suitable to the story. The rest of the plot is just light and fresh romantic story.

So yeah, it just... romcom? It's sweet and romantic and funny, cringe sometimes but in good portion. The plot is not super heavy nor boring. Actually, I doesn't have much too say except it's a romcom, romcoming right. Basically, story of two simps that we all love😂🤭

The visual is great, the actors acting nicely, the story is well written, good cinematography, good OST, nicely edited. Will written in history as another great drama stared by Kim Hye Yoon and the drama that finally give Byeon Woo Seok good role. Also, another reminder that Kwon Jung Yeol only sing soundtrack for success drama, haha.

It's worth to be included on "The Ultimate Kdrama Starter-pack".

Ps. No hate to the drama, but just want to give a note. If anybody want to get rid your belonging, please throw that to trash bin or recycle bin or whatever proper place according to your country system. These movies and dramas keep throwing things to river or ocean to get rid their mementos. That things would not suddenly disappear, for goodness sake! Just end up as aquatic trash! I've seen some people doing that in real life because fiction making it seems 'romantic' or 'dramatic'. Not cool guys.

MOST FAVORITE OF THEM ALL

words can’t describe how this kdrama left me after every episode😭i was in complete shock😭it was like no other dramas. it made me experience the sea of emotions whether it was sad, happy, amazed, angry and etc. i’ve watched quite a lot kdramas but like this one??? NEVER it’s something else really😭😭 also the actors, they were so pretty which made it more exciting, also the music which made me cry EVERY TIME 😭😭😭😭 i can’t even realize it ended that quickly 😭 i wish it would never end, i wish when the next monday comes they will still upload their 17th episode 😭😭😭 even though i know it will never happen.. goodbye Sol, goodbye Sun Jae 😭🤍🤍🤍🤍 it was nice to be with you this 8weeks💗💗 i will never forget any of you 😭💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

The best bangat Lovely Runner ditengah drakor yang berat udah lama drakor tidak ada drama yang ringan dan manis. Intinya bagus untuk di tonton saat healing begini gk buat pikiran tambah berat dengan teori” udah nontonnya kita ikutin alurnya aj,

aktingnya byeon woo seok dan kim hye yoon keren habis bisa bawain cerita kayak gini bawa kita sebahgai penonton untuk melihat perjuangan Ryu sun jae dan im sol dimana Ryu sun jae yg selalu ada untuk im sol walaupun dia sakit dan sampai” dibuat lupa ingatan pun masih bisa sesuka itu sama im sol.

Drama ini ngajarin bahwa walaupun otak kita berkata demikian tapi hati pasti tidak bisa berbohong.
