Cells steal the show for 2nd season
The second season has parallels with the first, but the cells are more prominent when they were more of a side note in the first season. Not just Yumi's cells but all the cells that appear. They provide the most comedy in the second season whereas Wung was the source of it in the first. Personally, I prefer season 1 but season 2 is deeper emotionally.I've always thought the overall story is more about Yumi's bittersweet relationship with Wung, which is a much more interesting and emotionally packed story arc. I've always hated the going out, breaking up and getting back together storyline which has become a cliché (boring) and it happens here which is why I prefer the Yumi-Wung storyline.
At the very least the show exposes human imperfections and their decision-making driven by these imperfections. Yumi's hypocrisy, Wung's inability to swallow his pride and BaBi's creepy smile and sociopathic tendencies, and the latter made me worried for Yumi's future had she ended up marrying him. That's because Babi's daddy issues would have been exposed even more and his sociopathic tendencies will manifest into domestic violence and infidelity, but let's not go there. Let's be honest, Babi has been creeping around Yumi since the beginning and pounced on his prey the moment Wung was out of the picture; he mentions he doesn't get on with his father which hasn't been fully explored, and they haven't shown enough of what really happened between Babi and Da Eun. There is no way he didn't dip his bulgogi in her gochujang.
In the end, I hope they all end up with who they deserve. Babi doesn't deserve Yumi and Yumi doesn't deserve Wung. The series has an open ending so a potential for a third season which I would gladly welcome, but wouldn't mind if it ended that way coz that's how life is; there is no happy or sad ending, it just goes on until death.

Better than Season 1
Yes I liked this better than Season 1. Probably because I like Jinyoung (who plays Yu Ba Bi) ;)S2 introduced some new cells which added to the humour and storyline. I especially liked the tongue cells having tea together LOL!
Yu Ba Bi was great!!! Until he wasn’t ... :( he was the perfect guy and bf. Until he too started lying and hiding things from Yumi, with the ruse of not wanting her to worry, or overreact. Is it a guy thing to think like that? Whereas all the women want is for their man to be honest and open. Yumi was right to be upset and hurt, but I felt it didn’t warrant such a quick break up without even talking it through and giving some time to think and breathe. I also understand why BaBi was upset that she could break up so easily, as if her love wasn’t deep enough to hold on. And couldn’t she trust him? Couldn’t he hv been more honest?
After the break up, the character of BaBi didn’t make sense any more. It seemed the writers just needed a reason for the 2nd break up. Him hiding the accident, thinking of regrets and then proposing marriage?? What the... and they didn’t even discuss their issues after getting back together. Such poor and unhealthy communication. No relationship can last like this.
However I did like the professional development of Yumi becoming a writer. But Wung becoming a CEO in just two years?? That’s a bit far-fetched. I really loved the scene where he and Babi met at the hospital and they had a who’s-better-for-Yumi tiff off. Hahaha
Don’t expect too much with the storyline. It’s not a happy ending per say, but a good realistic one. :)

‘Tis the season where Yu Mi discovers Yu ME
This season starts where S1 left off. In S1, Yumi was a supportive girlfriend and a good mid-tier manager, but she has hit the doldrum on both fronts. It was no surprise that Yumi was once again looking for love and it seemed to be going swimmingly until the tropes took over. The big plot development in this season is how Yumi discovered self-love and becomes more assertive, a risk taker and is more focused. While this leads to some positive character growth, it also meant that she became more obstinate and, to a degree, self-sabotaging.
This change in focus also altered the feel of the Show. Yes, when the love line is in full swing, it was sweet and swoon worthy but that didn’t last. What replaced it was an air of melancholy. There are ripples of heightened emotions along the way, but it never reached the same heights as in S1. Everything felt muted and there is a strong sense of role playing when it comes to the romance. There seems to be a lack of passion.
Of course, the cells are the glue that held the show together and allow the writer-nim a chance to go off piste with the action. They are cute as ever and have loads of personalities. However, if you remove the animations, what is left is a fairly tropey plot and to be honest, a bit meh. It ticked all the boxes but there is little we haven’t seen before.
On top of the OTP, there are two other pairings. They are cute and provided some distraction while Yumi is beavering away at work. They were almost more fun to watch than our main CP. Acting is fine and felt comfortable with a bit of quirkiness when needed.
Now the elephant in the room. The ending is a total teaser. It left the plot dangling mid scene. There have been persistent rumours that there will be NO season 3 but this ending is shouting the exact opposite. There have been a lot of early chatter about possible endings as followers of the webtoon knew who is the chosen one. So what is going on? It also begs the question why is the Show only 14 episodes long when a normal 16 eps would have given the Show enough time to wrap things up if there is no S3. There will be a huge uproar and backlash if the Show ends like this. There is no news regarding S3 at the time of writing.
In the end, Yumi 2 was enjoyable and watchable but not as good as S1. The cell animations patched over a fairly ho-hum script and carries it over the line. As my friend @Love movies famously said, “I wish it were more yummy!!”. Peace out.

My favorite part of yumi's cells will always be the fact that it's not a black and white, destiny, love story. There's no past connection. There's no once you date you can't not be together. There's just 2 new people meeting, getting to know each other and starting a relationship Easily one if my actual favorites this year. I might go back and reduce 0.5 from my other 2022 dramas Since s1 I knew what will happen and that was for the best, since this drama is walking through new territory the anticipation can be dreadful, like Eve's ending ep had me in all types of turmoil 🤣 As an artist, as someone who hasn't found "love", as someone uncertain about alot of things in life, as someone who's alone, afraid to be alone and doesn't want ro not be alone, yumi's cells has been a healing drama for me At times it gave me courage, confidence, relatablility, hope, gratitude, happiness and envy❣
I have high hopes for sunrookie, lol I know nothing of him but I'm anticipating and longing for him😭❣
Maybe babi shouldn't have had a full season for himself, maybe it was better if by ep4 or 6 everything was wrapped up for sunrookie to show up faster and this could've been 16eps. Tho I won't mind a full season for sunrookie, I have high high hopes and I want to know how yumi will be with him
I'm mostly grateful the breakups made yumi stronger. And unlike 2521, she started appreciating her past loves😭

An educational kdrama
This kdrama is one of my top kdrama, it has its sweet and fun moments that makes me giggle or give me butterflies. Its so bright and leaves a lot of good feeling after each episode that I wished it had more episodes than just 14. The first season was good, but this season feel more special to me idk why. It is really educational I found! It teaches to think before any action or before responding to someone. It also teaches well how to communicate with people around you, like being honest and act wise and properly. It has its funny scenes, romantic scenes, cringe and so on… kinda a slice of life but not that slow! The reason why I gave 8 for rewatch value is because this kind of drama is good to be watched just once, but for sure it worth to watch it, because its not a kdrama with a love story and the end, its a character’s life their hobby, their relationship, their friendship, their free time…

From Supporting Yumi to disliking her
I am not the type to avoid sad endings, death or tragedies but only when it makes sense. I don't like how Yumi went from scared to fall in love to not afraid to hurt someone in the name of self love. Do men not have feelings? Majority of the viewers are women so obviously we are more into women characters but why won't we feel bad for a man who is suffering for no reason at all. I like Yumi's professional growth but as a character she could have done better. Yu Babi was not written well but he still managed to convey the emotions. I liked him. While Woong was terribly humiliated for no reason at all. I just watched him and prayed for him to move on cuz this was getting embarassing at one point. I hope Babi moves on and doesn't hurt for someone so selfish who can't respect someone who treats her so well.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Felt like I wasted my time watching this, but that's life?
I completely loved the first season. It was realistic, sweet, and I guess I love the straightforwardness of focusing on one guy. But in this, we have a mess but one that actually makes sense? We have Babi, who the writers hyped up all the way to the end, making him the sweetest guy to ever exist. Although his character is super flat, he had amazing physical chemistry with Yumi. We strangely don't see his cells, but we learn much more about his background.
We have Woong, who I feel so bad for. His character was pretty much useless, and I felt so bad for him he had to play a simp until the end with Yumi brushing him off each time as if Season 1 never happened.
And lastly, Yumi. I get that we're rooting for her, but it's like we're suppose to ignore she has flaws too. One thing I found sus was when she lied to the real estate guy that Babi was just a friend lolol. And agreeing right away to marriage and playing with your fiancee's feelings instead of following your heart, huh. So much for character growth!
Basically, there were lots of filler scenes, and tons of potential scenes to lead us astray thinking there was something there. It's not the best feeling in the world to see it end like this, but I guess it makes sense. You can't always have that happy picture perfect ending. Cause it's not an ending, it's life.

Absurd view on relationships !
Though I really loved the cells , as they gave me an insight into how a person can interpret certain actions and reactions , the main story was very absurd to me ! It may be a copy of webtoon , but that doesn't makes it almighty !The acting is top notch but the characters are absurd ! There is either no growth in the characters , or suddenly they get promoted/become CEO/top writer . The cells are doing all the talking , but there is hardly any interactions between the lead . They are just assuming/ presuming things . They aren't clarifying misunderstandings !
Yumi , is played exceptionally well by Kim Goeun , we can see her projecting all the emotions very well . But , the character itself is very poorly written and not likeable at all . I understand that the writer may have tried to give her a humane touch with her own flaws , but that would have been okay , if she were shown to accept her flaws and move forward with it ! it seems like she thinks of herself as righteous and keeps judging others for their slightest of mistakes ! Her character is very childish , immature , insecure and selfish ! Another conflicting thing is that they have shown her , to keep her bf at first priority whenever she is in love , but that's not what can be interpreted from her behaviour ! She only keeps them at first position till they follow her around . Her bfs can't talk to other girls , can't live in their own place , have to eat what she chooses and can't send her short text messages (she doesn't reacts , but judges them on these stupid criterion)... I mean what the hell is going around , in which century are we living ? Yet they have depicted , her to be very innocent and deserving of all the happiness , even the guys who have dumped her keep returning to her ! Though I am glad that they started showing her faults in flashbacks in the later half of the season .
I won't recommend this to anybody ,who is looking for romance drama , as the romance here is very shallow , only sticks to few steamy scenes , while the characters are actually not even trusting each other fully ! The character graph here dint make any sense to me ! If you are here to enjoy the anime and the conversation the cells are having , go for it !

KDrama Boyfriend
Babi is my dream boyfriend. Everything about him is something I wish for. I really wished Yumi would've ended up with him. I believe the conflict that ended their relationship in the beginning is something that should've been forgiven because not everything can be perfect. Especially since it was mainly the other girl that was pursuing.Besides the small change I wish happened in the plot, the production is amazing! I love the cells and how they reflect what's happening in their heads. I can't wait for season 3!

Everybody loves Yumi... including Yumi
This drama has some reallay nice scenes, some sweet romance here and there and a guy who seems to be just a little bit to perfect to be true... And probably is not quite as perfect as he seems. There are a bunch of highly annoying characters some highly lovable characters but mostly a bunch who seem to act as fillers here and there.. there to make us wonder, keep us insecure and keep us guessing... However at one point it goes over bord and just becomes meeh...
The cells have been upgraded from season one, but the conflict and passion has been highly reduced and this season could easily have taken 8 episodes to complete if it weren't for the unnecessary fillers and conflicts here and there that made me like Yumi just a little bit less.
All that said, I do not regret watching this and will probably watch next season as well... if there is one.

I'm disappointed that they didn't end up together
This would've been my most favorite drama of the year. I loved the chemistry between Yumi and Ba Bi sooo much. I knew from the webtoon that they wouldn't end up together. But I didn't lose hope. I hate the writer so much. She shouldn't have ruined the character of Ba Bi. If she didn't, I would've said, BA BI IS THE BEST MALE LEAD IN THE WHOLE KDRAMA LAND. But I'm heart broken. Rating it 7 for the scenes I've loved. I'm not even looking forward to watching the 3rd season, if there'll be one.People might say, this is supposed to be educative that one has got only him/herself. I'm a simple girl. I watch drama mainly for the chemistry. So lesson doesn't really matter to me. I felt sad for Woong too. poor guy loved Yumi very much. If he ended up with Yumi, I wouldn't be this sad.

The Worst Main Female Character I have ever seen In My life
Ok this review contains spoilers, this show started really good for its first 8 episodes they should stop at that point, but they continued the show to put the 1st and 2nd seasons male leads in misery because of the selfishness and indecisiveness of the female lead character, I never hated main characters more than I hated the female lead character and the 2nd season male character so much, and I hated the actress herself for accepting this type of role, she rejected the 2nd season male character about 5 times during the whole show, all for very silly reasons actually, and he keeps returning to her each time as he has zero dignity (I don't know why all the Koreans actors in Romance Korean dramas usually with no dignity at all), when you get rejected and keep trying this is not love anymore, it is self-disrespect, that's my opinion, If you want to watch this series for Romance I don't recommend you to do that at all, If you are watching it just to see how the cells act then you can watch it as they are the only good thing about this disappointing showEsta resenha foi útil para você?
