Allow me to rant....
I try to write reviews without spoilers but not this one, because I need to rant. Having thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 of Yumi's Cells, I was looking forward to watching Season 2. In many ways, it did not disappoint. The cells are still absolutely hilarious, the acting is excellent, the plot anything but boring, But! But! But what the… is it with the break-up? It made sense in Season 1 because the main characters don’t communicate properly. There’s a heartbreaking scene where Yumi asks about getting married and Woong wants to say yes but feels he can’t because he is broke. Had he explained his reasoning, or had she mentioned to him that she loves living with him instead of just telling her coworker, they probably would have stayed together. Alas… that’s not what happened and it’s acceptable because stuff like that happens in real life too.Now Season 2. We have Mr. Perfect in Ba Bi. Personally, I’m on Team Woong, but he was fine and they certainly looked good together. There were some very cute scenes involving the cells exploring the other “planet.” But then Yumi decides to break up. Apparently, Ba Bi cheated on her. I must have missed that part because all I saw was some young girl from work, who happens to live in his neighborhood, having a crush on him. All I saw was Ba Bi trying to avoid any awkward situations by moving from that neighborhood. I never doubted for a second that he really loved Yumi. What the hell was she thinking? He has no control over what other people feel for him. How insecure is she? And how mean? Who the hell breaks up on Christmas Eve? With someone you supposedly care about? Let’s not even get into the fact that Ba Bi was extremely tolerant of her still being in contact with her ex-boyfriend. But when he thinks some random girl is cute, without ever planning on acting on that, he’s kicked to the curb. Unbelievable.
And that is my main point of criticism of this show. The plot just doesn’t make sense. Clearly, the plan was all along to have Yumi and Ba Bi break up. But the writer designed the character of Ba Bi too perfectly. Had he cheated, sure. But he didn’t. So the break-up here is not due to a lack of communicating but a lack of logic, and I just cannot stand that in a drama. I can handle fantasy elements and flying unicorns, but they need to act so it makes sense. (Side note: I thought Twenty-Five Twenty-One was the best drama ever, until that writer, too, decided to cling to her original plan of having the main characters break up, even though that made zero sense the way they were portrayed, zero, boy I am still so mad about that… ok end of side note.)
Should you watch Season 2? Definitely the first few episodes but then brace yourself for Yumi turning into a different person from Season 1, much less likeable and acting quite irrationally. Some people have commented that it’s great that she puts herself first as a writer, but she could have done that without breaking up with Ba Bi, who actually steered her on the path to becoming a writer. In fact, both of her boyfriends were nothing but supportive the entire time.
One can only hope that Season 3, should there be one, is more like the first season, which was excellent in every way.

Lackluster
I enjoyed Yumi's Cell, so was looking forward to this one. However, I find myself a little bored. I just don't feel the chemistry between Babi and Yumi compared to scenes with Yumi and Wung. I think the actor who plays Babi, just doesn't have the depth (his emotion are flat) compared to the actor who plays Wung ...you feel his emotion. I wish that didn't bring Wung back because you feel so bad for him. I know in the webtoon she ends with neither of them, so it makes it hard to watch because what's the point to get attach to the characters if you know it is not going to end well. You invest in the character and in the last episode she ends up with someone else. I definitely don't think there needs to be a Yumi 3. It is just me, but I keep rooting for Wung, but I know it is pointless. Both relationship our pointless, if the series ends like the webtoon because the series is just a snippet of the long, running webtoon.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

My honest review
Okay so I really really really liked what Yumi and Yu ba bi had, like he was perfect for her, honestly I think the writer/ director/ producer is the problem in this season 2 cos things were going really well between both of them but they just wanted to break them up at all cost, I get that they wanted to follow the books and all but they shouldn't have made ba bi perfect then, they are prolonging it for nothing, Yumi was really happy with him and if they knew they were not going to let them be together at the end, they should have not brought them back together. Well considering that babi is going on any blind dates I really hope in season 3, they end up together because he was really good for her, if we are being honest and compare her relationship with woongi that we know that babi was better for her but like I said they were just bent on making them split up, all in all it was a good watch until episode 14, the cast were still looking beautiful, the music was good, watch it.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

we grow slowly from endings, then we realize the dreams we wish to come is our first priority
goshhhhh I love how the storyline goes on after season 1 :') It feels like im debating between the cells and the characters haha. I do love how it all started and how yumi find another life to live, which is moving on from her past relationship with woong, until she gets to fall in love with someone she met from work (which is babi). I love the continuation of the story, especially the story gets even more deeper... as its diving deeper to yumi's healing process from her heartbreak and how she changed her life completely due to her dream of being a writer ever since she was little. With the said storyline, I also do love how it is also based from the webtoon. This gave me so much questions to ponder inside my head from the scenes leading through the story, and wondering if this, that, or those would happen. And actually, I do love how I predicted some of the scenes on the go that made me get so proud at myself and binge-watching it as well! I finally decided that the two seasons would be part of my favorite kdramas of all time :>STORY/PLOT
The story continues after Yumi had her previous heartbreak, as she slowly matured enough, healing from the pain and suffering she encountered. Until then, thoughts ponders her head as she wants to pursue to be a writer. As few of her cells are fading away, but the other cells remains but a different primer cell is leading her life. With that, Yumi and Woong had a different path of life while focusing by their own dreams as they slowly get their success... but then, Babi, a colleague worker who give inspiration to Yumi until as they grow closer, Yumi had decided to open up a new relationship with him. The different path of the cells are having their mission to be a success, but with challenges and unexpected twists and turns to happen with Yumi and Babi. Will Yumi still had the feelings of emotion and love while chasing her dreams to come true?
That question ponders through my head while I was in the middle of the episode of the second season. I also love how the cells are slowly growing back together, controlling Yumi, and new cells are being introduced to make the story seems more exciting and interesting as well haha. Well with the second season, some parts of the story answers few questions that gave me a second thought of why and how it happened during the last season.
With rivalry comes in the middle with Babi and Woong, most especially with their own cells. From here, in between the two of them, I do love how Yumi grows apart from her past relationships. If I was asked who between the two, I would say Woong was still the best one yet, even if he had this "little childish act". But he's really good for Yumi, but seems due to their misunderstandings, Yumi decided to take a break, and where the miscommunications starts to happen, until it was a a little sad heartbreak for Yumi. On the other hand, I do love Babi, but not as same as Woong. Babi was a softie, king, generous, loyal to Yumi, but then he's too good for her. Because of his heartfelt feeling all of a sudden unexpected feelings he do feel other than to Yumi, I think its also one of the weaknesses he encountered. Not to be so biased, but in the second season, I do discovered and wondered at the same time the weaknesses that both Woong and Babi has. There, I do understand well the reasons of why Yumi ended her relationship. It also for the benefit that she could get to be away from her temptations and living no regrets at the end... :') With that, all of her struggles and pains she discovered in the middle and at the end, it grows inside of her differently. Learning from her past relationships of where she was also missing.
Overall with this part, I do love how it turns out, but still we deserve a season 3 since we need Yumi to be more happier with satisfaction :) And after all, Yumi wanted a life where she is satisfied with what's happening. Finding the happiness she deserves to feel... <3
CAST/CHARACTERS
Well well well, I would definitely thank the cast who did so well with the first and second season, but I do really fell in love each one of them also where they also find their own path of life not only to Yumi and the main characters, but as well as the characters who help cope Yumi's life ending to be a satisfaction <3
I'll go first with Kim Go Eun as Yumi. She has so much potential and she improved a lot from Little Women, Goblin, The King, Eternal Monarch (The first drama that I discovered her) and Cheese on the Trap!! Now I watched all of her projects, she deserve the recognition she has, and now since Little Women, I praised her a lot from her acting!! She's one of my lowkey favorite hallyu actress in kdrama!!
Gosh ever since the first season, I do love her and felt her feelings of emotions a lot. I do really love Yumi till the second season because in there its visible that she's growing a lot. I love her development throughout both the first and second season.
Next, Ahn Bo Hyun as Woong. Ahn Bo Hyun also improved a lot, after watching some of his roles from the very first kdrama appearance that I watched before, Itaewon Class and some of the dramas I continued watching because of his potentials as well! Such as Her Private Life, Descendants of the Sun and lastly, he's well known role from My Name!! With his character, not to be so biased, I'll start with him as I get so much feels when Woong and Yumi are together on screen!! I do get the feels haha :')) He's really paired up with Yumi as they really meant for each other. Woong's character development from season 1 till season 2 is still present. but the fact where his childness is still there haha :')) Woong is also one of my favorite characters, he shines so well for Yumi and very supportive and caring at the same time. No matter the relationship he had with Yumi, I do really ship Woomi :'))
Lastly, Park Jin Young as Yoo Babi. Park Jin Young's role is also not new to me since I also saw him for the first time from his role He is Psychometric. He was also did well with this drama. I appreciated his acting skills, but I do hate his character after all what Yumi feels. I do love the ending between them, ending with less to no regrets... <3 I do love Babi *again and again* but I was hoping he would change, but not that well... But overall, I do love Park Jin Young, but not the character much :') hehe.
And to the other casts, I thanked them because they made first and second season more interesting and how they made me happy and laughing all the way. It was a fun ride, with them and how the story was really well written <33 Rooting for the casts as well!!
To end this note, overall it was really a good watch for season 1 and 2. I do love how it ends pretty well... and speculations arise since the ending feels like there is a season 3 and hoping that it would be true tho ;') But still this drama is very recommended to those who wants to watch it <33
Great for binge-watch, a time killer, great for beginners and very recommended, love how the writer made the well made <33
And that's end of my note, I actually took almost 1 hour to type this note haha since I had good feelings with this drama having 2 seasons <33 really loving the drive of emotions I had while watching it. <33 Looking forward to the casts next projects to come!! DESERVE MORE RECOGNITION!!! <333

Aire fresco y aprendizaje sobre el amor.
Gran drama.
Miles ahead of season 1, much more interesting and hot
I was not sold on season 1, when i watched i thought Yu Mi was a pitiful character that only cared about men's approval. this couldn't have been further from the truth, i realised as i was watching. She undergoes an amazing character development and she gets you to root for her with all your heart.Story
her personal story is tied with her relationships. i didn't care for woong last season, but i'm glad i gave it anothe rechance, cause in this one she gets together with Babi and they have a mature, loving relationship full of respect and trust. i loved their romantic moments as well as Babi's unwavering support of Yumi' s dreams that helped her be a writer.
overall
it was a delight. i never thought i'd be so invested in a female lead with such a bad haircut, but kim yu mi won me over with her spark and personality

I am Team Yumi because let us all choose ourselves
The drama continues from the previous season with a new ML- Babi (GOT7's Jinyoung) who was introduced in the previous season. The conflict of choice between Woong (ML from Season 1) and Babi really keeps you on the edge. You absolutely cannot predict who Yumi is going to end up with because both are equal rivals with their own strengths and flaws. As a viewer, I was torn between the two and both Jinyoung and Ahn Bo Hyun played their roles to perfection. Although, Yumi as a character has her own flaws, Kim Go Eun's portrayal of Yumi was sublime. The drama is filled with fluffy moments, funny situations and excellent chemistry. The story is interesting because of the cell village which is yet again, adorable. I really like that there were some aspects in grey area and left to the viewer to decide. Online forums are a testament to this which kept buzzing with speculations, observations and stans. The side characters make a bigger impact than previous season but yet again, cells take the center stage which works for the show. The show has it's moments of laughter, wholesomeness of being in love and the vulnerabilities that relationships bring to the table. It is also about Yumi's journey of taking a chance and finding herself in the process. Irrespective of whether she ends up with Woong or Babi, her choosing herself is what I always wanted. To some extent, that was fulfilled.
The production quality is excellent, the OST is delightful. I am truly waiting for another season and I will lose my mind if there is not a season 3 because there is enough material and sufficient potential.

I am little unhappy
awww.... the day I got the news there will be 2nd season for yumi's cells in 3 days I completed season 1 and started 2nd season. starting till they broke up I had so much fun. when they reunion I was so so happy but I am so sad they didn't ended up together. I loved their chemistry, the drama, the issues they both faced. I loved Ba Bi part, he was so so supportive in the end he lost because of 3rd person. when you love someone you should trust them that was missing in their relationship. If their is 3rd season please end them together and let them trust each other.Good work Yumi's cells Team and all characters. Congratulations on completing Drama.

Disappointed
This was one of my confort drama until last week.I seriously cant rewatch .As a viewer,it's so hurt.A part from story line Acting from both actors was so good.
My enegry drained by this drama.
ppl blamed on babi too much,i love the character of his.
He is 10 out of 10.
He is too good to be true.ppl r pointed out on his mistakes which he dint do.
who is the red flag in here?
Its yumi she forced herself to fall in love with someone when she was not ready.
Screenwriters played the viewers heart by adding too many plots from soonrook.
They should have followed the webtoon if they dont want to change the endings.
I will never ever rewatch this drama.

My review is SOLELY based on the show not the webtoon.
I have not read the Webtoon, so I can only write based on how the drama, not on how well it matched the original story. That said, I know some of the plot points that were supposed to happen.I will say the actors made the show come alive, I think they did a great job playing their roles. I know Kim Go Eun is a great actress and she delivered, but I am particularly impressed with Jinyoung's acting. I think he did above and beyond acting as Yu Babi, he made it hard to me to see him apart from his character.
But for the story, I think it was a bit lacking. Like many shows it started off great, it was delightful and I found myself laughing from episode to episode, I was excited for Fridays/Saturdays because new episodes came out, but after the inevitable break-up episode, the show was not as entertaining. To say the least, there was a push and pull between the characters and the show drags out a bit. That being said even if the show dragged a bit towards the cells made the show worth it. It was interesting to see them take on how humans interact and operate, and the cells were honestly the comedic relief that was needed. The cells made the show 70% worth it for me in the end.
I do think that there were some flaws with the characters that made the show frustrating but still engaging. I can't say I agree with all of Yumi's decisions, watching her at times was a bit frustrating. But I guess it just shows that she is human and not supposed to be the perfect main character, and I can appreciate that. And also Babi was very vague from start to finish, even from his cells' point of view, there is not much to Babi, and I still think that after finishing the show.
I don't want to give the ending away, but I felt like it was lackluster. I know how the Webtoon ends and I think the writers wanted to make the ending follow the Webtoon, but also not follow Webtoon exactly. But the way that the show ended was unsatisfying. I know that some people who read the Webtoon thought it was a good ending, but as a sole watcher of the drama, it was just bland. It had some sweet elements, but I think it could have been executed better.
Honestly, I think this show, at least this season, was just a 7.5, it was an original idea, but it wasn't executed well. This is nothing against the original creator of the Webtoon, but honestly speaking, even if I read the webtoon I think I would still rate it the same.
Overall the cells made the show worth it, but about halfway through the show it dragged and was a bit frustrating.

Unsatisfying conclusion
I very much enjoyed the story overall, especially (since I'm a guy) how both of her boyfriends were generally kind and thoughtful. Many times they actually anticipated Yu-mi's unvoiced concerns and brought them up to discuss. It rankled me to see Yu-mi's immaturity in this season, when she was so strict about boyfriends who are "swayed" even for a moment. Better communication and effort might have rekindled her relationship with Ba-bi.Of course, you never know how (hypothetically) her friendships with both of her ex-boyfriends might blossom into a romantic relationship once again. But I'm sorry, the ending was thoroughly unsatisfying and reminded me of the terrible ending of "When the Weather is Fine," where no one ends up together or seemingly very happy.
To end a drama series with a firm statement that the leading lady is strong and independent and "don't need no man to make her happy" is just the reason we left American television. It's a good reminder to me that, in the future, I'll carefully select what dramas I watch based on user reviews after they have completed.
The drama was a fun ride, but I would never watch it again because I know how it ends.

total disappointment
you guys really like this season yumi cells because i thought it was a total disaster, firstly Goo Woong had his reasons he was going through a lot of difficulties and he didn't want yumi to get involved, but they went their separate ways, yumi was even in a nice relationship with babi but he just started having feelings for someone else, from that moment on i didn't like him "because most people like him because he's handsome" best thing yumi did was break up, but then she came back with babi (from that moment on I thought about giving up watching it because it was very frustrating to watch it) I felt really sorry for Goo Woong because he really wanted to get back together with yumi. ok, the ending really made me happy because it gave that impression that that couple from the first season will come back but another guy appears (according to the webtoon it's the guy that yumi is going to marry when in the first season he showed a four with yumi wedding photo) it was a total frustration this season.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
