THE BEST CHARACTER IN THIS MOVIE WAS KIKO! SO UTTERLY INNOCENT AND ADORABLE!

I have had my share of movies starring the famous couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. This movie was not bad at all,but very much lovely and fun actually. We follow the rebellious main character Jackie who against her will gets taken to a village to volunteer on a medical mission in Tarlac. To her dismay, a place without any electricity and internet connection. But her cynical point of view slowly changes when she gets to know the bright and golden-hearted Kiko who also lives a unfortunate life but chooses to love instead of giving in to anger all the time. From teasing and bickering with each other, they fall completely in love. I love how Kathryn portrayed the troubled Jackie.Such a strong character, but very much vulnerable. It is so easy to be so much consumed by pain that you eventually do crazy stuff just to numb it out.You end up being so selfish and self-absorbed that you forget all the life and people around you.Kiko was right to point that out to her,and showed her an example of the poor life families have around the village. Kathryn could see the life Kiko lived. His own mother can`t even make herself to take care of him and his younger siblings, leaving all the responsibility on his shoulders while she parties away and gambles with her boyfriends. He has a rich father with his own family who never treats him more like a employer than a son.Kiko never asks from anything in return, but he does not want to cut ties with them because he considers them his family and he loves them no matter what even if they don`t appreciate him.My heart cried out for Kiko, his golden heart just made me swoon!I love the early scene where Jackie seduces him just to steal the keys from him and he tells her he is a virgin, lol!

Light and fluffy classic rom com

This movie is one of those movies you watch just because you can not decide on what to watch next, a classic in between dramas cleanser as it does not have a lot of substance to offer but does offer fluff, at times bad comedy and few decent messages hidden in-between the meeh ones.

Crazy: I do not really get the "crazy" part of the drama, Jackie is not crazy, she is rather hurt, and in need of just about anyone to help her look beyond herself. So self centred yes, crazy nope... Or maybe it is the people around Kyko that are crazy as they seem to take advantage of this overly kind soul without a single thought about how he might feel.

Beautiful - Well there is a lot of beauty here, scenery, looks, gazes, relationships... all very beautiful indeed

You- Well there are both mes, I, is and yous so I guess this part makes sense.

There is one part in this movie that they portray really well, which is how people with privilege take their privilege for granted and act like they are all superior for giving bread crumbs to those in need while attaching a whole bunch of untold strings and well lets face it giving while taking advantage of the less fortunate... It also shows how hard it is for the person in disadvantage to rise up and stand up for them selfs, which could have given this movie a bunch of extra points had it not been for the rest of it which over simplifies things and has some low humour.... etc.

An ok watch, not a movie I recommend to all but not one I discourage others to watch either. as it did indeed keep my interest and though it made me cringe here and there it did keep me entertained.

Rock Solid Romantic Comedy With an UpLifting Message!

This is my first foray into Filipino cinema, and I wasn't disappointed. A great story and wonderful chemistry between Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla make this a wonderful film. Little did I know that these two have collaborated on several movies and are an "item" in real life. Makes sense.

Jackie is an angry young woman who doesn't like her life or anyone in it. Her dream is to go to New York to study photography in order to leave home. However, she is unable to stay out of trouble and ends up in jail. Her mother pleads with her father to let her come to a small, rural village to do some volunteer work for a week. Her father relents, against his better judgment.

Kiko is a responsible young man, who finds himself caring for his younger siblings while his irresponsible mother is out galavanting with any man she can find. He is also one of the coordinators for the program that provides help to the village.

Jackie sees only what has been done to her. In short, she plays the victim. One can understand her anger and resentment once her mother confesses what happened to her when she was young, but Jackie has trapped herself in a miserable situation. Playing a victim will always do that. Kiko, however, who has a number of challenges of his own, elects to fight through them. He doesn't play the victim, which demonstrates why he's a much stronger and more mature person.

Of course, Jackie is resistant to the volunteer program, and even devises plans to escape. Once locked in, she finds herself in a village without electricity, so she can't be on her phone 24/7 as she likes.

I'm a former Peace Corps volunteer, and there is nothing quite like having all of your luxuries and comforts stripped away, which forces you to deal with whatever is in front of you. Jackie learns this lesson as well. She learns quickly that there are people out there with much tougher situations than she's got. In short, she finally begins to mature and grow up. In short, service to others can induce a powerful healing, which is exactly what Jackie needs.

The film is truly beautiful in how the volunteers work with the villagers. So much of it reminded me of my own service. However, the film doesn't end there. As one easily surmises, it becomes evident that Kiko and Jackie have developed feelings for each other.

It is here that I wish the film hadn't decided to use a cliched scenario to set up the "big ending." Too many films do that. I thought that the confrontation between Kiko and Jackie, when he didn't show up for the wedding, would have been perfect, followed by family resolutions after that. I would have been much more practical and unique. However, I can't complain as the movie still works very well. Still, my heart (and my favorite part of the movie) is when they are together at the village.

And I also have to love one of my favorite songs from my high school days, Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" and how it's used so brilliantly. I'm looking forward to watching more films like this one!

Not the best from Kathryn and Daniel

My first Filipino movie was "She's Dating the Gangster" followed by "Can't Help Falling in Love." Now I LOVED these movies, though I felt SDtG had a couple plot holes. So I'm obviously going to have high hopes for any Kathryn Bernardo & Daniel Padilla movie. Unfortunately, "Crazy Beautiful You" did not live up to my hopes. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was enjoyable but it did not have any sort of brilliance that the other two films I mentioned had. This is just another run-of-the-mill rom-com full of plot inconsistencies.

First, Kathryn and Daniel were great. Chemistry top-notch as always and I'm still looking forward to watching their other movies. However, the plot of "Crazy Beautiful You" is just all over the place. Kathryn's character Jackie has an about-face too soon into the movie. They should have played her being a rebellious brat more. Kiko's (Daniel) family dynamics are interesting, but handled too haphazardly. Once his annoying brother Marcus is introduced, Kathryn's character development in thrown out in order to focus on a pseudo-love triangle.

I think the overall message about the importance of family is great though the delivery is somewhat muddled. Additionally, I liked the way they handled being selfish/selfless. Selfishness is bad of course, for the most part others' feelings should be considered. However, being selfless is also bad but in different ways. No one should try to take everything on by themselves. This message I think was just as important in the movie. I recommend "Crazy Beautiful You" to all Kathryn & Daniel fans since I think they're great no matter what. But if this is your first Filipino movie, I suggest watching the two I mentioned up top first.

So -so

Drama start with her arrogant attitude but her arrogant attitude was not justified because she was all the time looked easy going . Her opposition about any matter was not that strong that it should be . So her character was not justified then story of there love story started with the reason that they are in same boat ,same sympathy ,same emotions they shared but still they didn't shared much love scene ,very last scene of the movie they finally got eachother . I am not felt connected with the story.
