I love this drama.. it's like the best rom-com ever
it's light & lovely & gives you joy in every moment watching
has no over doses of anything , no over reactions or complicated & twisted story line
simply about how can love changes a person , not making him\her a completely different person but about how can love making the wrong things in you changes to better , how can love make you really open to the world.
the scores tell what I think of cast & story , but I have to say I really loved the music it was as soft as touching as it should ever be , & really lifted the scenes up , but I'm just not a person who can watch the same thing twice
this is true romance and true comedy & you wont feel any stupidity or regretting watching it at any point.

One of the best dramas out there!
Will make you laugh, smile and both at the same time :)
The plot is really refreshing and the actors are amazing.
Music is nice and it fits so well.
And there are no annoying ex boyfriends/girlfriends so that was a big + from me, although there are a few annoying characters but I won't say anything else :P
In my top 5 for sure. The drama is a must watch.

I must say, I was really looking forward to this drama. Hearing it win great acclaim amongst a cultish following (despite the low ratings when it was on air), and I was rearing to go. Sounds exciting right? A fusion-sageuk-thriller? But what on earth happened with this story?

First I was lost in the history of the era. I’m a history graduate though, so that’s never really stopped me before. Quick Wikipedia peak of the drama’s main overarching political period? Check. Okay, then they lost me with the economics of era. Mercantile affairs, and the political ramifications of possibly re-locating the capital? I guess I can sort of see how that could affect things.

The problem with the drama’s plot-line however, is that all these threads (politics, and history and economics are interwoven with great, gaping thread lines around the show’s main “conspiracy” plot, and haphazardly intermingled with the love triangle/square. I mean, I know Seoul in historical times was small, and everyone who’s anyone probably knows everyone worth knowing, but me, the viewer, had no idea who anybody was, or which side they were on. For an 8 episode drama, there was so much going on that I basically couldn’t keep up with my list of who’s who.

I think Seoul’s Sad Song was hinting at some loftier aspirations: namely, that not every sageuk drama out there is just about the king and his ministers. The welfare of the Joseon people, the advancement of well-deserving baseborn officials, and the dreams of these types of people also matter and can make a difference. Unfortunately, all this was lost on me. For a conspiracy driven thriller, this whodunit story was chock full of inspirational back stories (that failed to warm me to the characters), chilling twists (that moved me to boredom), and enough metaphorical court language that literally drove me to tears. The following example comes right as a BIG revelation surrounding the king’s secret will has just been unveiled:

A : “When the wintry gales swelter us, he said that brushes would be swayed by the wind.”
B: “So… did you find any unyielding brushes?”
A: “In the palace, there was not a single one left.”
C: “You insolent slattern! How dare you mutter such insidious drivel!?”

You insolent writers, how dare you not write more clearly!?!

Maybe I’m lazy, or just plain incompetent, but everything in this drama seemed wasted on me. Though, if there’s anything I’ve learned from watching this sageuk (and others for that matter), it’s that women in the palace are more to be feared than the men. Also, by the state of the practically non-existent but completely soundproof-less walls on traditional Korean homes (of rich and poor alike), it’s amazing that any secrets are ever kept.

I'm not sure if I'm [negatively] biased against this [due to the fact that I read the manga first] but: I had a few problems with it.

Positives;

1)Loved the cast and the acting, everybody was so adorable and suited their roles well. Even the people you grow to hate did their job well.

2)I can't get over the theme song. I just la-la-LOVE it to pieces.

3)Since I read the manga, I loved the story line/plot and I wouldn't have it any other way. (Although it wasn't identical to the manga one, the whole robotic lover idea remained CLEAR.)

Negatives;

There's only one thing I can complain about, but it's quite an important factor to the story.

1) Lacking... Je ne sais qoi.
Okay, well I do know. It lacked more romance and love between Night and Riiko. I feel like she romanced with everybody else except, Night! It was made clear that she had feelings for him, yes, that is completely true BUT they had NO intimate/romantic scenes.

Alas, it was what it was and that makes it what is is.
It was beautiful and heartfelt and I wouldn't change anything, not even the emotionally-beautiful ending.

Recommend it to everybody; especially if you've read the Manga.

Romantic comedy is really not my favorite genres, but this really didn't feel like a romantic comedy. Not that there wasn't romance or comedy, but the story felt more real. It was like I was watching the lives of these people instead of watching a drama. The story seemed very realistic. There are people in this world that are traumatized to the point of wanting to cut contact so they won't be hurt. I'm sure many people could empathize with Go Dok Mi and that is why this story is so good.

The actors are out of this world. I am a fan of Park Shin Hye. I thought she depicted the character's pain and ambivalence perfectly. Then there is the man that pulls her into the world with his quirky charm. I don't know what other actor could pull off this over the top cuteness as well as Yoon Shi Yoon. I was so excited to see Kim Ji Hoon back in dramas!!! His portrayal of Oh Jin Rak/Oh Jae Won was well done.

The other actors were also cute. I enjoyed the couple of the webtoon manager, Kim Seul Gi and Oh Don Hoo, Go Kyung Pyo the best. They were just too cute. The up and coming Japanese actor, Kouki Mizuta also did well, but there was little screen time for him, so I'm not sure how he will do in the future.

The music was ok...nothing stands out.

I probably won't rewatch this.

I definitely think that if you enjoy romance, then you should watch this.

This movie is hilarious, romantic, motivational, about forgiveness and yet it is realistic in some ways. It successfully portrayed that some people judge people on their looks, in this movie, the female lead being "fat" the reason she was mistreated. But again, some criticism may motivate someone to make him/herself improve to the better, some do it for the bad reason, that is, getting revenge.

I learned in this movie that, no one is a winner in getting revenge and so it's true about "If you plan to have a revenge, make two graves." And forgiveness is still the best thing to do.

I like this movie, it is very entertaining, especially the "rap song", those wacky acting of the female lead. I cried too at the climax of the movie where the princess confronted her estranged husband.

All in all, you can learn something from this. Some may not approve on the ending but, in real life, some are just forgiving and loving their someone significant that way.

This drama was cute & funny. I enjoyed it all the way through. I don't think that there was much that I had a problem with. The ending was even full of sunshine & roses...LOL! It was a good drama & I think everyone will enjoy. I rly don't feel like breaking it apart and piecing it back together, b/c I feel that would just be a waste of time. I tried to just enjoy it for the entertainment value, which was not hard to do since it was full of hot guys that did cute things even when they r being all manly. So basically it was a good drama that will make everyone happy in the end. Enjoy!

Finally all 80 Episodes are subbed! First I never expected myself to really watch these 80 episodes because when I started the drama last year I thought it would be a typical mini-drama with around 16 eps. And I couldn't understand how a drama with this plot could actually have 80 eps.
But now I'm not regretting a single minute I invested in this drama and fully understand the length of the drama.

It's hilarious, has it's serious and romantic scenes a perfect combination.
It may have started of as something similar to Coffee Prince (korean drama) but then every character in this drama gets more interesting and has their own side story.
It isn't only about the loveline between the two main characters (or five according to this MDL page) but it also interlinks the other characters.
There are many twists which made the drama more interesting.

And let's not forget about the wonderful actors Wu Vanness, Zeng Joanne, Zhang Michael and Wang Zi who did a wonderful job.

The only negative point is the length of the drama BUT It's definitely worth watching for fans of the genre Romance-Comedy.

It’s been awhile since I watched this Jdrama, but since I’ve been mulling over some recent Jdramas (and their complete lack of credible romance stories), I’ve been thinking more and more about Buzzer Beat, and its extremely capable and compelling love story.

Yes, you heard it right. This drama brings out all the stops – or at least most of them – with romance, hugging, kissing, cuddling, and a million other “awww”-worthy moments. Also, there’s some basketball. I actually like basketball, so this drama is pretty well set in my books. Minus a few irritations, side characters, and cliché plot holes, Buzzer Beat seems well worth the time.

Buzzer Beat stars Yamapi and Shirakawa Riko give this drama its main charm. Both are struggling to stay confident about their sport/art when circumstances throw them together. What follows is a halfway original story of personal growth as the two develop a sincere friendship with one another, and perhaps the chance of something more.

Up even past the halfway mark, both the story and the romance (aka ‘Total Cuteness-ity’) are riveting. Unfortunately, the show’s failings lay in the last few episodes, where the writers throw on heavy doses of angst and lost almost all of my attention. I mean, I figured there would be a nice sweet ending, but must it really be necessary to suffer so much to get there? It’s a little sad that a perfectly wonderful show was ruined by Kdrama-esque plot holes and noble idiots pandering about in circles, but overall the strength of the earlier episodes (at least 82% of the drama) were fine and dandy. Buzzer Beat even does a good job at not turning every side character into an exact stereotype, a feat for which I am I always grateful.

My vote is that you watch it for the leads, and turn your brain off by episode 9. That should make things all better.

I personally recommend this one. This drama is one of my favorites and will remain for the rest of my life!

This gives you the best of Yoom Eun Hye. Actually, it made me huge fan of her. A thin girl, with no makeup and short hair made her the cutest boy on the planet. Though, the girl disguised as a boy plot, is ancient but this drama adds a new charm to it. Gong Yoo did amazing as the lead. His character left an imprint on me. I have not dared to watch him in any other drama due to the only reason that I want him to remember as Manager Choi of Coffee Prince.
The chemistry between the pair is worth dying for. As for music, I was so busy watching Eun Hye, I hardly remember.

Others characters also add to the awesomeness of the drama. You just can't stop after Episode One. It gives you the warmest feeling ever.

P.S. You'll drink twice as much coffee as now, after watching this.

I watched most of the flower boy series and to be honest, this has to be the best out of all of them. The story the acting the suspense the laughter was just spot on. Unlike other dramas this one has that extra uniqueness it isn't all gloomy, sad romances yes of course it has that but it has its quirkiness side to it too. Just when something is sad your instantly cheered up again by something funny. The story line was amazing and i really loved how it ended too. I'm totally satisfied with the ending which is not usual for me. This is MUST WATCH drama if you need cheering up then this is the drama for you! You'll laugh and cry your socks off!

just amazing job to the people who made it the actors, and everyone involved in the making of this. absolutely fascistic

I just finished watching this drama (I in fact stayed up a little late to watch the last episode once I saw it was posted with English subs - I couldn't control my excitement!) and I absolutely loved it.

The characters are interesting and the storyline is engaging.
You have Enrique/Que-Geum who seems to be ridiculous, hyper and childish on the surface, but is also kind, gentle and thoughtful. He's also a computer-game genius.
There's Go Dokmi, the 'urban rapunzel', whom I took a little while to warm to. I didn't quite understand the character, but you learn more about her as the drama progresses, and I suppose that's the whole idea.
Jinrak is handsome, brooding and serious. Donghoon is a bit of light, comedy relief with a heart of gold.
The 'chief' - I still don't think her character even had a name - with her dark circles and her love of screeching in English at Jinrak and Donghoon will have you laughing a lot.

There are little subplots that flow naturally alongside the main story, and you find yourself rooting for more than one possible couple.

All in all, this drama was well written, an original idea, and a light-hearted romantic comedy. I reccommend it to anyone who enjoys sweet romances, and a sort of 'will they won't they' vibe, as the drama leaves you guessing as to who Dokmi might choose until fairly near the end.

I have been waiting for the subbed version for ages for this drama, and when I finally got it I started watching it.
This is such a sweet heartwarming and enjoyable story of a family with four boys and their problems and adventures.
Lots of laughs, light moments, endearing characters, sweet romance and some sad moments.
I would compare it to Ojak Brothers, but its quite different but similar in some ways. If you want to take some time out from all the heavy melos, and soso comedies out there now give this one a try. You wont regret it.

Alo Alo~!

Just watched the ending and I will surely miss this drama..

One thing I really love is the soundtracks... they really fit the scenes that they were played..

The story itself was amazing and somewhat diff from your typical drama.. In the beginning things may seem predictable but it totally went to a diff direction than I thought it would..

In many parts of the drama I keep wondering who will she end up with?? Just when you think you are right .. BAM~! something happens and then your like " OK I have no ides who she's gonna end up now" ..

Que-Geum's personality really rubbed off on me and I usually find myself acting like him.. (jumping up and down and running around like a kid) ...

At the end of every episode it just makes you want to keep watching.. to know what will happen next.. if your predictions are right or wrong..

Shed quite a lot of tears than usual.. (IDK.. maybe its just me...) and ran around the house several times when something big happens..

Overall this Drama goes into my Top Fave List~!!!

(I wish I meet a man like Que-geum someday.. )

At first I didn't know if I would like this drama or not and was put off watching it for a while, but after watching it, It has became one of my favourite dramas.

After I started watching this, i did think it was going to be mainly baseball based and hospital based, even thought it turned out not to be completely centred around the hospital and baseball, I really enjoyed watching this drama, as each episode made me want to keep watching.

I felt that the cast was well chosen as the actors played their parts amazingly , especially the main actors , they had me laughing and crying with them.

The music i thought suited the drama greatly as it emphasized the dramatic parts in a way that left a deep feeling.

I gave the rewatch value a 4 because it is a drama I would like to watch again, but not in the near future. It is a great drama, but I don't tend to rewatch dramas too soon after finishing them.

I highly recommend this drama, especially if you like revenge dramas.
