ITWY is one of those drama that you will not be so excited to watch and wait, but you also can't stop watching it. It is a cliche' drama, very common and predictable, but it is well acted, smartly-written and well-directed. If you're looking for a drama that will give you extreme emotions. This is not for you. But if you're looking for a heartwarming, realistic drama in which you will learn a lot, this is really a good one. Personally, I like to compare this drama to a MIRROR. Watching it, made me reflect on many things, assess myself and realize many things.

The characters in the story can somehow resembles to most of us viewers. Our female lead represents successful woman of today. Our heroine is a woman who is rational, witty, successful and with self-confidence yet also have shortcomings especially when it comes to love. I like how Cheng You Qing was shown as strong woman who always rescue a friend in need yet maintain her rationale and clear judgment on situations, unlike other heroine who always shout, do whatever they want to do and irrational. While our male lead is a man that everyone wishes to wed. I like how LI Da Ren is characterize as a simple man who strive hard to his work, making viewers believe that perfect man doesnt have to be chaebol's heir or a rich man. I like how both of our leads are smart, values family and friends, and not perfect yet deserves admiration.

I really like the chemistry between Ariel Lin and Che Bo Lin. And I think they really fit and give justice to the characters.

I really love the signs of ageing in the beginning of each episodes and the charms of mature woman at the end. I can say that this drama is really "Intelligent". Intelligent in a way that it teaches a lot to viewers. Each conversation is very honest, straight and a lot to learn from it. Even the drama theater of Uncle Bai is aritstically done and lot to reflect with. I personally like the editing of the scenes especially their phone conversation, as if their talking face to face to each other. I really find many quotable quotes from the entire drama.

Many people find this drama as simple and boring. And honestly I also find it boring sometimes. I feel it will be better if it is less than or just 10 episodes. But I really like how the whole direction lead us to the predictable ending.Rather than roller coaster emotions, this drama gave viewers a comfortable feeling as if we are part of our leads' everyday life and love story.

This drama is not the best from all I'd watch but something really worth watching and I can proudly say a Really Good One. I think it will berank two from my Taiwanese drama I'd watch.

This drama is my all time favorite. Re-watch value is off the charts. There are so many special elements that come together to make a beautiful story. It makes you laugh, cry, cringe (Kim Joo Won did you really just say that) and cheer. There is no way to catch all the layers in one watching. Hyun Bin is perfection as the lead. You love and hate his character often at the same time. He portrays so beautifully what it means to be attracted to someone you didn't expect or want to be attracted to and that you know could mean giving up everything you thought you valued in life. Ha Ji Won is wonderful as Gil Ra Im. I can't imagine another actress in this part. I appreciated how the writer kept coming up with situations that Kim Joo Won's mom catches the couple in that are impossible to explain and that only fuel her hard line that Gil Ra Im is beneath her son and will never be good enough. Also love love love Oska.

This drama was DAEBAK! If not for fellow MDL'ers comments/reviews I would have put this in the "bubble-gum" category - Thanks fellow MDL'ers!

Story: Well written, and directed. Story dealing with being alive and living - Regrets & passion - Defining learning how to love! Loved the surrounding cast and all the realistic quirkiness of their lives & loves. Well written + stellar camera/sound work. My only issue from a full 10, the last couple eps felt like they pull the story along unnecessarily, the story was gripping enough.
Acting/Cast: An entire cast of REAL actors. People with skills and chemistry. The two leads were simply magnetic, drawing in each other and us! The lawyer & noona couple were simply delightful and magical to watch their story & iteration of love bloom. Well done selection of actors to carry off this this twisted storyline.
Music: Rather "wormy" & well done!
ReW: Yes - after some time to digest all the content of this drama.
Final Note: Do not be fooled by some of the bubble-gummy looking posters. Read some of the reviews, trust the fellow MDL'er whose reviews you can believe. Learned my lesson -

I know for some, stories following and telling the lives of older people can sound unappealing but I promise you it's far from being boring, if you decide to give it a try you might even have lot of fun. It has absolutely everything most of us are looking for in dramas to be considered as awesome : comedy, slice of life, a little touch of romance, great friendship and family bond and a bit of drama ; the writing is so sincere. A lot to learn from the elders as well.

I was burning of impatience to start this drama especially with such talented and acclaimed actors, Go Hyun Jung, Shin Goo the best father of dramaland (in my opinion # ROYOW), Na Moon Hee, Yoon Yeo Jeong, Go Doo Shim (it was my first time seeing her), Park Won Sook etc. It was not only because of the cast but because of the story which I kinda guessed would be easy for me to connect with and I was right. It's a straight 10 for me, and my first of the year *.*

A big part of the story revolves around Park Wan's relationship with her mother and her Aunts (her Mother's friends) who all are around their late 60s (some in their 70s) but not only as we also get to learn bit by bit about all of them , our 6 other main female characters of the show (Jeong Ah, Hee Ja, Nan Hee, Yeong Won, Cheong Nam and Ssang Boon) and 2 male characters Seok Gyun and Seong Jae. I really love how Wan is so close to all those people who are for most of them 30 years older than her.[off topic= I'm really envious of her as I consider elders as the most adorable and caring people of the world (with kids), they make me feel comfortable, happy and also more at peace and generally I have more healthy discussions with them and I learn a lot from them especially about their personal experiences. I definitely feel more at ease and more like myself in their presence. End of off topic].
Wan is there for them and share most of her free time with them as much as possible and we can feel all throughout the drama the special attach between Wan and her aunts, this special and indescribable love they have for each other, the genuine and soothing one.
As I said Wan is not the only main focus of the drama, all the veteran actors have equal screentime and have their own stories to share (I mean the characters they portray).
The drama mostly narrates us the stories of Wan's Mother and her friends, their own adventures and anecdotes worth being told to their own children, grandchildren or nephews, some are very sad, painful and heartbreaking and will move the most sensitve ones to tears (like me :p) and some more funny and sweet. I love all of those Helmoni because despite having a very hard life and some being deprived of freedom (partially) they always look cheerful, they laugh and have fun on their own way like anyone else, they are true bon vivant I'd say. They all touched me and broke me because they are genuine, sweet, sometimes very funny and weird too.
My fave characters are definitely Jeong Ah and Hee Ja, I can already tell you that both of them made me cry not less than 50 times, mostly happy tears but some were also sad tears. Those two women caught my attention since the first minutes of the drama, other characters I love them too so so much but I found Jeong Ah and Hee Ja's stories more powerful and heartbreaking, and their friendship is so strong and unwavering, they have their moments of doubt of course but it's what make them even closer.
I've said enough about them but they are such lovely and cute women, they are honest to themselves and to others too, never hiding their true feelings especially Jeong Ah who always speaks her mind even if it can be a little bit hurtful anyway I love her for that. As for Hee Ja I think she's the kindest and the most innocent one, this makes her so gorgeous and what a delicate woman she is *,*. I also need to mention that the Hee Ja/Min Ho's bond really got me, so real, beautiful and unshakable, Min Ho is such a filial son, their scenes were the sweetest ^^
Of course all other characters are so fantastic and deserved to be loved, Ssang Boon the lovely grandma who's always playing with her phone, Yeong Won the elegant and caring friend, Cheong Nam the curious and honest friend, Nan Hee the hot tempered and caring mother and Wan our lovely young woman who's having some issues dealing with her love and family life. All of them made this drama the gem it is to my eyes.

The Ost is also very beautiful and the songs perfectly fitted for each scene, the funny, the cute, and the sad ones. Probably among the best Ost I heard this year, very addicting and memorable, especially ''Want to Be Free'' by Lyn and '' Wonderful'' by Jannabi.

If I were to say in a few words what truly made me fall in love with the drama, I would say : its realism, its endearing and funny characters, its serenity, peaceful tones, and its natural and brillant writing. Dear My Friends from start to finish made me feel jovial and calm which is something that happens very rarely when I watch dramas especially Kdramas but this is one of the few exceptions, and that's exactly why I'm watching dramas : feeling relaxed, connecting with the characters, evading from reality, spending a good time and not feeling anxious, DMF gave me all of that so I'm very thankful to the actors's hard work and the team who worked on it. Indeed finally South Korea came up with a realistic and heartwarming drama, never letting me feeling uneasy nor angry about the events or the characters. From this country the only other drama which gave me the same feelings was Ruler of Your Own World,I hope more dramas like this one and Dear My friends will be produced though I don't have high expectations.

I decided to give it a 10 for personal reasons, though the drama can sound slow or simple due to its length (around 70 mins per ep). But here are some of the reasons why I went for the highest rating.
- The story, exactly what I've always been waiting for, a drama which would mostly focus on friendship between elders and make them the center of the story.
- Every second was precious and meaningful for me, never I felt bored and I savored every moment.
- Great family and friendship drama and all actors portrayed their characters so flawlessly and convincingly.
- The characters are so relatable.
- Showing the true love of mothers for their children and vice versa, thanks Dear My Friends for those great moments of emotion <3

Na Moon Hee and Kim Hye Ja, My lovely actresses <3

Story

"A realistic, cheerful story about “twilight youths” and the young people who befriend them."

That's what the synopsis of this drama says. And I want to point out the word "realistic".
Cause that's what the story is about. This drama doesn't have Kdrama-Cliches, or trophes or anything that would just be in a Kdrama. This isn't a story about a revenge, or about 2 people that meet through fate or something noo. The story of this drama is life. I'm sure everyone that watched this, kinda remembered their own parents of great parents. Because these people they just go through things that everyone had to go through or will go through.

But the way these normal people, with normal lifes, and normal problems are shown us by the writer and the director was just soo beautyful. I cried a lot watching this, but there were also times where I laughed out loud.

Acting/Casting

First I have to say, the Casting was just perfect. It couldn't have been better. So lets move to the Acting.
TBH, I am not the person who is able the rate the acting of the elder Cast, they are just beyond good, or great.
So all I can say is about the acting of the Younger one's.
Go Hyun Jung: I loved watching her, I loved her acting, I loved her style and how she was soo beautiful with no make-up. It was amazing how she changed from being an independent, adult woman, to a daughter who listens to her mum, even if they fight all the time.
Jo In Sung: He was the reason why I started this drama, and I love him for this. I know, there is written that he is just making a Guest appereance, but just let me say, I enjoyed him every episode, even if it was just for 2-3 minutes.
Lee Kwang Soo: My betrayal Icon, Giraffe and Prince of Asia was just as amazing as the rest of the cast. I could really see that his Acting improved, maybe it was the impact of all these great actors/actresses, but I was soo proud when I saw that he was soo good.

Music
The OSTs are just as perfect as the rest of the drama. There are songs that really cheers you up, and wants to make you dance, but there are also OSTs that make you bawl like a little baby.

Rewatch Value:
Of course I'm gonna rewatch this great drama, with a great story and perfect actors/actresses. The question is, how often will I rewatch it???

Overall Review:

As you can see from my ratings, this drama was just perfect. Before I started to watch this, I had zero expectations. I didn't even considered to watch this at first. But after the first 6 episodes aired, I saw some gif's from Jo In Sung, and I really got curious about his story, and eventhough I knew he was just a guest appearance, I just wanted to see him. But in the end, I fell in love with everything about this drama. I don't know if I ever will be able to watch a drama that is as great a this one.

Thank you writer Noh for making this heart-warming story come to live.
I enjoy this drama so much, always keeps me excited for the weekends.
i laugh hard and i cry even harder till my head and eyes hurt, in almost every episode.

So much feels when I watched this drama, and so much life lesson learned.
Makes you think of future life, what will i be when i get older later and cherish our time even more.
Every time i finished watching each episode, i miss my mom and feel like calling her.
I can say that this drama has taken a special place in my heart.

This drama is beautifully made, i can feel that there's so much heart has been put into it.
Hats off to all senior actors. Everybody did a great job, I can't even find any flaws to be complained about.
Oh so much things to say but i can't put those into words..
I'll be re-watching this soon while waiting for writer Noh's next drama for sure :)

To be honest, I'm not really into school/sports/youth kind of dramas, but this one is an exception. I'm not an outgoing person (since I have trust issues) and I would rather sleep all day or pig out while watching dramas non stop than go outside. It gave a warm feeling inside, a bit of a roller coaster of emotions and of course a realization and (moments of) inspiration to go out there, to make friends, to make memories (good or bad) and to have a positive outlook in life (generally). Happy endings aren't so bad after all.

What a gem have I stumbled upon?
37.5°C no Namida has certainly exceeded my expectation, although it could be because I didn't have much expectation of it when I start. I just happened to like, found this drama having high rating, looking at the casts and saw Narimiya Hiroki in it, and I am like, "hey, why not?" when I started it. Definitely not a bad decision. I do not have words on how much I love this drama right now.

STORY: 10/10
Because it is so good! It is so so good. I have to say, it is rather typical of Japanese dramas to infuse a darker side to their story line there, that however is always what got me hook right on the spot. Momoko's character is intriguing, there are many episodes which I spent wanting to know more about her past, what did she do? Why did her family treats her that way? I can't write more without giving the whole story away so bear with me. :-P Just note that Momoko is definitely that character that will go into your heart and stay there, and before long you will find yourself wishing for her to find her own happiness, I definitely ship her with one of the character there, which I am not gonna say more either, you better watch for yourself and witness the chemistry Momoko has with each and every characters in there!

ACTING/ CAST 10/10
I seriously have a feeling that the character Momoko-chan is tailored made for Renbutsu Misako. I know her from another movie, quite briefly, in Kimi ni Todoke and quite like her there, in this movie her acting has impressed me more. And of course, I have nothing to pick on Fujiki Naohito, Hayami Mokomichi and Narimiya Hiroki, all amazing actors who I have seen in several other shows already too, they are awesome here. Worthy of a mention here is that I love Suzuki Rio, who I've seen in action in Never Let Me Go, her take on Koharu Asahina is just so adorable that makes me wish for a daughter like her! I look forward to see her in other shows/ dramas!

MUSIC 9.0/10
They are pleasant, I love the theme song "Daijoubu", very nice and fitting to the drama. Definitely going to search and add it to my music collection - after I am done with this review.

REWATCH VALUE 9.0/10
I would totally rewatch the drama again once I have a chance. Such amazingly executed story, the acting, the story, everything, I love everything! That being said, I could certainly be bias on my rating and review here.

OVERALL 9.5/10
I totally recommend this drama here, though this is not really all fluffy and happy kind of drama, that's a warning, my heart got broken several times, and there are times where I was just filled with so much feels I can't describe it. I didn't cry in this drama, but that could just be me. I look forward to hear your comment on this drama once you've watch it!

This drama has very high ratings from me - basically because I enjoyed all aspects: good story line, excellent music, superb cast.

Wasn't expecting anything amazing but the story pulled me in, with a simple story line combined with great character development which brought out the emotions. This drama is more than your average martial arts story, rather battle between good and evil, and the way love can change people. Unlike some dramas, the music was simple but moving can captured the emotion. This isn't a complicated story about strategy or war or anything deep as such, but rather a simple love story.

The sets were well done, I think there must be some authenticity to bring out the feel of the day, to set the tone and environment and bring out the story.

Acting is great - all characters did a great job, both the good and the evil. Special effects were pretty well done too, nothing really tacky as in some older dramas. Watch i!

I'm really jumping the gun by writing this review literally 10 minutes after finishing this drama, but I have so much to say!

First off, I attempted to watch this months ago but couldn't get past episode one because it involved things, including a cat, that was never in the original Itazura Na Kiss nor other adaptions. It can be uncomfortable seeing scenes, in an adaption, you've never seen before and almost like okay, what the heck am I watching? Is this even the right show?

But I decided to give this a second chance and... well... You could look at it through two different lenses. This could be considered a more &amp;quot;tamed&amp;quot; version of Itazura Na Kiss, one that people that can't handle other versions would probably like because it's not as &amp;quot;outrageous&amp;quot;, or you could look at it as being a &quot;watered-down&quot; version where basically all the characters' personalities are the bare minimum of what they should be. I'm more on the latter's side of perspective.

It's not that this drama ruined the story. In fact, once you get past so many new scenes and takes on relationships you can appreciate the breath of life it gave to a story that continues to be adapted. But there's a fine line between making something feel new and taking away ESSENTIAL roles and characteristics that make a story great to begin with.

For example, this adaption seems to focus more on Tenten's side of the story. We see a lot through his eyes and are given reasons for his &amp;quot;motives&amp;quot;. But at the same time, I honestly believe the character of Kotoko (or Taliw) really suffered in this telling and ironically, that's why I'd refer to this as the version that other people might like because all of her comedic moments, her embarrassment, her yelling, her annoyance, her plain fierceness in the face of love is taken away and without any of that, she's not Kotoko. And Naoki is suppose to be a cold butthead. So when people praise this adaption like &amp;quot;yes, Kotoko isn't as stupid and Naoki isn't as mean&amp;quot; it's like, no. They're suppose to be emphasized, that's the point of the story. If you don't like them when they're that way then you just don't like them and don't watch Itazura Na Kiss. Simple as that.

Now Kotoko is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time so seeing her being portrayed this way (which I won't fault the actress for, but rather the writers) has been a hard thing to get over because it takes a lot away from why Naoki falls for her to begin with.

One of Kotoko's most important roles, if not her most important, is the fact that she makes Naoki realize the potential of his potential. He already knows he's smart but he doesn't know what to do with that intelligence. She tells him that he needs to share his gifts to make the world a better place, that it's not just about being smart but about intentions and what your heart wants.

In Kiss Me, this lesson isn't taught by Taliw but by moments from teachers, medical professionals, and Tenten's parents. Through bits of their conversations, we see Tenten slowly enlightened and figuring out what he wants to do for a career and I don't understand why these people were chosen when that's always been Kotoko's place and adds a huge layer to why her and Naoki balance each other out.

In general, all of the characters' personalities were flattened but I'm just particularly upset about it with Taliw and Tenten because they're the point of the story, but also Tenten's mom who is usually such a gem and riot was not as ship-y in this version and I always look forward to seeing her because she's so hilarious and a reflection of exactly how viewers, like me, act when it comes to shipping Kotoko and Naoki.

I think the hardest thing about reviewing this version is that there are many ways you can review an adaption. I could review this as how good it was as an adaption, I could compare it to other adaptions, or I could review it as a standalone piece without bias from watching previous versions. You have to separate what you think of this version from feelings you already have from the story and once you've watched a lot of versions of a story, you'll find yourself kinda morphing all those versions into one big gunk of pleasant feelings and filling in the empty bits of maybe this version with things that happened in, say, Mischievous Kiss so it feels like the portrayal is better than it actually is because you're watching Kiss Me but thinking of ISWAK or MKLIT. If that makes sense.

I've already done my comparisons so I'll just have to say as a standalone, I didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to which is why the rating seems harsh but that's how I honestly felt. I personally wouldn't rewatch this.

The acting was standard for a romcom drama, the music so-so (I think I'm just not used to Thai singing, I did like a lot of the lyrics though). Aomike's track is my favorite. It gives me delicious butterflies-in-my-stomach feelings.

But before I close this review, I want to bring it back to Kotoko whom I'm severely defensive of because she seems to be disliked by even people that claim to love the drama. Kotoko is not a weak person. A lot of people say she is because they equate weakness with crying or not being smart or being any kind of a woman outside of the variety that wears leather suits or shoots guns.

This is a girl that loves a boy for so many, many, years and does not give up. Loving someone isn't easy, it's especially not easy when you don't know how they feel in return. But that is the definition of hope and hope is the opposite of weakness. Being hopeful is being strong. Being knocked down and getting up and refusing to give up is being strong. And that's all Kotoko has ever done.

Amazing is the word to describe this drama. The only thing that didnt make sense to me was that Natsui is not that poor. One of the best written dramas I have watched. Watching Shun Oguri and Satomi Ishihara together was so funny and sweet. Those two are great together in this drama. The music in this drama is perfect fits with the drama as well. I like about it is the character changes in this drama. The song is so catching in the drama. I totally would watch this drama over again. This drama tells you about friendship, funny, drama, trustworthy, and love(romance). After the first episode I got hooked right away. Acting is really good, plot is fine, music is wonderful, and rewatch is definetly yes. A perfect romance comedy drama. Hyuga and Natsui perfect couple!

I definitely preferred Season One. Perhaps it is because in Season One the characters were new. However to suffer through another full season where the characters have not developed at all and the exact same situations occurred was difficult.

I gave the story a 6.0 because while it was so similar to the first season, it worked the first time. I didn't give it anything higher because.... it was so similar to the first season.

The acting/cast is a 4.5 because this may well be the most annoying characters I have ever experienced in my life. Between Hotaru's inability to make an decision, let alone formulate actual words, and even in her mind only thinking "boss", "boss", "boss" every five seconds....... and Takuma's mentally abusive treatment of the woman he alleges to love, I seriously couldn't stomach it. Of course, that may be less a matter of the acting, and more a matter of the writing, so I admit my score in this area is probably unfair.

I gave a 1. 0 to the music because if there was music, I have no memory of it. Evidently it left no impression.

Rewatch Value is an energetic Heck No! Otherwise known as 1.0. I won't go near this drama again ever. I enjoyed season one, so I'm bummed about season two.

If you don't want to be thoroughly bothered, and want to avoid hating the characters you learned to like in season one, stay away from season two. Just enjoy the happy memories.

I was really looking forward to watching this drama. I really enjoyed Lee Joon Gi in what I've seen of Time Between Dog and Wolf. I didn't know any of the other actors except Lee Soo Hyuk.

The story was OK. I think it could have been shorter and there really wasn't enough going on to sustain the length of the show. If you like a vampire story it's solid, but it had so much potential. There are plenty of slow episodes that could have been done away with and we could have more information about Kim Sung Yeol at the end.

Lee Soo Hyuk was excellent. I've only seen him in HSK and I hated him, but this role really suits him and he revels in it. If you're a fan of his, definitely watch this drama, you'll love the scope he's given and what he does with it, he's absolutely mesmerising to watch and plays his character perfectly.

I've never seen Shim Chang Min in anything before. He played his character believably and put in good work, he was likable when he should be likeable and horrible when he should be horrible. I cared about him too.

Kim So Eun. I'm adding her to the list of women capable of playing good strong accomplished characters. She was exceptional and so was Jang Hee Jin who i really didn't like in the beginning but by the end I really wanted her to be happy and I was proud of her and her hard work.

Lee Yu Bi is solid as Jo Yang Seon. There's nothing too special about her. At first I thought she was a bit too much like Park Shin Hye in You're Beautiful, but then she settled into her character and I really cared about her by the end.

Now, Lee Joon Gi. Sigh. He's either over-acting (screaming, crying and writhing) or not acting at all (staring). The only reason I cared about him at all is because I wanted Jo Yang Seon to be happy. I'm pretty sure the king says as much at some point. I'm SO GLAD HE WENT TO THE MILITARY INSTEAD OF PLAYING CHOI YOUNG IN FAITH. I felt like he was trying to mimic that character and the way Lee Min Ho played it instead of making Kim Sung Yeol his own, and it's sad, because we all know he can act.

Overall, there was so much potential here and one of the best bad guys ever and it's such a shame that it wasn't enough to make this drama good enough. As for the ending...sigh - without giving anything away, there's just no excuses for that kind of mediocrity. no excuses at all. Cut the guff from the middle and use that time to make a proper end.

The music was all over the place. Too loud, too mediocre, used inappropriately. I found it annoying when it should have been contributing to my feelings towards characters and plot points.

While I don't regret watching this drama, I won't ever re-watch it.

I'll recommend this drama for people who are fans of any of the actors except Lee Joon Gi. Otherwise, just skip it and spend your time on something better.
