This is a saga of a family headed by a single mom. The story revolves around her children, their loves, heartbreaks, and tragedies. The story is very realistic and the acting is superb.
Although there are many relationships going on at once, the love affair between Kim Myung Min and the breathtakingly beautiful Han Go Eun was especially touching.
I never, ever watch dramas over 20 episodes and this was an exception. I really did not want it to end, I got so attached to the characters. The mother made so many sacrifices raising her children, that, in the end, they were grateful to do the same for her. In my opinion this is a "must watch" classic.

'Nodame Cantabile' is a heart-warming coming-of-stage about bringing people together through their shared love for music. It's much more than the romantic comedy that appears to be; set against a soundtrack of glorious classical music, 'Nodame Cantabile' captures the meledious journey of its slightly off-beat orchestra of characters.

I really appreciated how the dramas conflict wasn't based on "good" vs "evil", but was an intrinsic battle that Chiaki himself had to overcome. Chiaki isn't just critical of those around him, but he's also highly critical himself which prevents him from being able to form valuable relationships with people and thus understand music better. Nodame is the person that challenges this struggle of Chiaki's and helps him - unbeknowst to him - to discover a vast capacity to love people (as well as to overcome his fear of flying). Here we have a mistmatched pair who are able to understand each other and help the other to grow.

The romance might not be in your face, but the subtlety is a thousands times more touching. The way Chiaki is so deeply affected by what Nodame says, does and plays shows that a beautiful sort of love his forming. He might not realise how he feels, but the audience is able to clearly ascertain that there's more to his feelings than a massive appreciation for how Nodame plays the piano.

Speaking of subtlety, I really love how character development is portrayed in NC: its poignant, subtle, and unexpected. It is isn't simply expressed through words, but through actions and - most importantly - through music. Music is a vital part of our lives. It is the one thing that is able touch people's hearts and bring people from all walks of live together. 'Nodame Cantabile' is able to capture the profound affect that music has on its characters lives as we see a character letting go of all of their inhibitons and becoming one with the music. This is most prominent with Chiaki - the tension in his shoulders seems to disspitate when he lets himself become one with the music and his orchestra during the last episode. He's relaxed, free and loving every minute of what he's doing. Being able to portray all of that without words takes both great directing and great acting.

Most people talk about Ueno Juri's portrayal of Nodame when NC is mentioned, but I think that Tamaki Hiroshi is the real star of the show. His performance of Chiaki is so sensitive that I can feel Chiaki growing up and learning how to love more vividly through the way he plays with intonation, his eye expressions, the way his body moves with passion whilst conducting and the small smile that plays around the corners of his mouth. The connection Tamaki Hiroshi has with Chiaki's character is so compelling, I really can't imagine anyone else playing Chiaki. I look forward to watching more of Tamaki's work.

For one to fully enjoy 'Nodame Cantabile' one has to overlook the slightly too anime-like execution of this drama. The humour is what prevents the story from gaining that perfect 10 - it offsets the tone of the drama due to its overly whacky and slapstick nature. I guess its part of the dramas charm, but I would have personally preferred it in smaller doses. The most aggravating part of the humour was the violent tendencies that Chiaki had towards; punching and throwing really ain't cute, and it did leave a bad taste in mouth.

All in all, 'Nodame Cantabile' has become a firm a favourite. It's beautiful, poignant and charming, and despite its silliness it manages to convey a touching message about love and music. The finale will leave you swelling the absolute grandure of Beethoven's Symphony No.7 as well as the overwhelming amount of emotion that managed to be conveyed through barely any dialogoue in the last 15 minutes. It's definitely one to watch and should not be skipped!

kimchee saves live!!!! Did it save this drama, well, perhaps as I pondered that question. I think I thought of that question more than I watched this drama.

How I came to that conclusion: Do you like kimchee, would you like to learn more, or at least more than you knew before, than maybe it's a passing grade for this drama. I summarized it in my head as okay the first episode or the first 10 minutes got me with the beautiful array of korean food displayed. hmmm interesting, but than the story began to unfold and it was okay, because I kept thinking wow the kimchee and all the other foods look great....so here was my rational on how I got through this drama.

The kimchee was definitely the star, and as for the story and plots, I thought of them as the side dishes. I mean there was even the 10 commandments of kimchee who knew. So if you have no other drama on your on hold list or plan to watch list than get on the kimchee bus!

on and btw cute catchy tune if you watch you will hear it. :)

cast: maybe they should have used actors more fitting for the age. I mean the wise kimchee teacher, was the same actress from her 30's to her 70's. I mean in her 30's she obviously didn't look 30.(older actress portraying younger)
Also Han Jae Suk, plays the male lead, still handsome, maybe the Lee Min Ho of the 90's kdrama era, correct me if I am wrong, only saw one drama with him(Glass Slippers) which he played in and that was excellent.

It's "Warm and Cozy" with Hae Shil and Jung Geun.

Story: I love the refreshing feel of this drama. The story starts out so good, then interesting, then funny, then boring, then funny, then boring, then boring and repetitive and uninteresting you can't keep from wanting to drop it. I completed it, though, because I don't want to waste my effort of downloading it. The consolation is the love story of Hae Shil and Jung Geun; it is hilarious and cute it actually surpasses Geon Woo's and Jung Joo's roles. And I love Mayor Hwang Wook. There are times I root for him than Geon Woo.

Acting/Cast:

The acting is good. They just acted according to their roles even though the characters are ridiculous - old people acting like kids. They pulled it off.

Lee Jung Joo is very soft-hearted it becomes annoying. I think the character is somehow stupid. Like Lee Sang Yoon said in Liar Game, "I hate girls who think being stupid is being good". Well, something like that.

Baek Geon Woo is so kid-like. Sometimes he's a jerk but he's very kind too. You'll love him and you'll hate him and repeat.

Mayor Hwang Wook: Pity! He is adorable and cute.

Mok Ji Won: I like to pull out her eyes, make it a necklace and sell it to her for $1M. Money and fame is love to her Seo Yi Ahn pulled it off. She convinced me to hate Ji Won.

Kim Hae Shil: She's okay. She went through a hard time and you can understand her why she's acting like that. But 30 years is too long. Well...

Song Jung Geun: I love him. Love him, love him, love him. Why? Who wouldn't? His personality is so cute. He talks big and acts like a kid. Haha! Lee Sung Jae is an incredible actor. I saw him acted as villain. I never thought he could act Jung Geun.

Music: It did not convince me to download at least one OST. They're nice, though.

I won't re-watch nor recommend this.

Ok I'm stumped and clueless. I really don't understand how this drama is rated sub-7, when so many retarded (pardon my French) Kdramas get 8+ ratings (o_O). Such is the case with many other TVB HK dramas. I hope people won't judge them so just because they don't have a cutie pie as the hero and glossy, heavily-made up actresses playing the lead roles (many of them are attractive here as well).

Story: A variety of people gather in the Wonderful Harbour Hotel on a particular day when a Mexican diplomat staying there contracts a new strain of influenza. Keeping up with the health laws, the whole hotel along with its residents is quarantined for 7 days. The story follows these 7 days, as the viewers gain insights into the reasons such an odd group of people turned up there at the same time. This is based on a true event from 2009, when the first H1N1 case was reported in a hotel in Wanchai and the hotel was sealed off for 7 days.

Characters (this might be long, but I'll try to keep it short):
Chiu Chin Lung: A typical 'act first, talk later' cop. He can't ignore injustice, which leads to him taking matters into his hands and landing him in trouble. He's investigating the kidnapping of a boy and ends up in the hotel while chasing the suspects.

Tong Ching: An enthusiastic journalist, who gets to know Lung the day before the quarantine. She enters the hotel to get evidence of an affair between a rich businessman and a bank superintendent. She joins hands with Lung to track down the kidnappers.

Yik Cho On / Calvin: A professional thief (a la Robin Hood?) who robs the rich and donates a fraction of the loot to charity. He disguises as a Thai Chinese businessman. As is expected, we get glimpses into his past, showing why he became what he is.

Wong Ka Yu / Christy: Calvin's partner and girlfriend, disguised as the wife of a rich Shanghai businessman. Though her rational personality clashes with Calvin's impulsive one, they care for each other deeply.

Ho Chan: The jack of all trades at the hotel. He is nicknamed Chief and seems to have a hidden past, which once revealed, can throw many lives into disarray. He helps Lung and Ching with their investigations.

Tai Siu Nam: The bellboy at the hotel, who is in cahoots with the kidnappers.

Liu Ho Yan / Judy: The hotel concierge, who chases rich men and falls in love with Calvin.

Yao Dan: A supermodel (but is she really who she claims she is?)

Au Yeung Ka Ka: An escort, who gets called out by a businessman staying at the hotel and ends up getting quarantined. One of the few who actually enjoy the situation.

Kwok Wing-mui: Lung's mother who's obsessed with getting him married.

Acting/Cast: Most of the actors did a great job, especially Cheng Joyce. She really shines as your plain Jane. The scenes between her and Bosco Wan are a treat to watch. No romance, its just a pair of incidental friends poking around. Ma Steven and Kwok Sonija share a great on-screen chemistry with their constant on-off relation. Barring maybe one or two, you just don't get to hate anyone ^_^

Music: I'm no big fan of HK music, but I found this one entertaining (enduring?)

Rewatch: This can be categorized as a thriller with a dose of comedy and romance. There are really not many unnecessary scenes. One of the few dramas I feel I can rewatch without using the fast-forward option!

Concluding Thoughts: This is really an awesome drama with a highly convincing ending. It can be seen as an "everyone gets what they want" scenario, but you do feel sorry for the most unlikely people. With so many stories tied-in, the director did a meticulous job of keeping the audience occupied. When the bunch of unconnected people start to bond together, you really start cheering for them. After all, no man is an island.

It might not have the glamour of many other dramas, but that is not what it was meant to be. TVB dramas are known for their outlook at reality and this drama excels with that perspective. If you appreciate a good story with good acting, this is the one for you. Highly recommended!

This is my first review so I hope I'm doing this right

My like for detective dramas stems mostly from the characters' personalities. With so many detective dramas, many cases get repetitive so for me the highlight of these dramas is the team of detectives/policemen etc. I watched doS Deka right after Deka Wanko for Tabe Mikako and at first I just wasn't feeling it. It had its moments where I laughed but other than Maya I found her team to be bland like stale bread plus Okura's acting was corny. I was on the verge of dropping it at first but eventually I stuck around until the end and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed Maya's character like her antics with the superglue stuff and "Fighto" and I especially liked how they developed the relationship between Maya and her chief when Maya started to rub off on her.

All in all, other than Maya this team was more forgettable than some other similar dramas, although I did warm up to them in the end, especially in the last episode; at least none of them were some douchebags that I wanted to punch which is always a plus. I just wished they were more fleshed out. Usually these types of characters each have an episode where they get to shine but not in this one.

The acting was so-so. I like Tabe Mikako and I think she suits these types of quirky roles but some of the other cast's acting was questionable. I never watched Okura in anything before so I don't know if he's acted like that on purpose for his character or if it's standard for him. The others didn't really stand out. The heavy metal-ish music was a good touch (at least for me)

One of the best drama that I have watched! This drama is so fantastic! exellent, brilliant, awesome, astonishing.. there's no specific word to describe how great this drama is! From the plot, romance, casting, acting, background music, everything was perfect! This drama is not your typical drama, it's far from a rich boy and a poor woman story line, this is also not a drama about revenge, the story was fresh and unique compared from other korean dramas that I have watched.

Story:
The first time I saw the description/story of this drama I said to myself "Cool, looks like an awesome drama, I'll definitely watchi this" and after watching the whole episodes, I was right, this really is a good drama! You'll be hooked up just after watching the first episode, and it feels like you want to watch the next one after watching an episode specially from episode 9 up to finale. There's no boring part, although there's a lot of fillers and flashbacks, well it's for the sake of the drama's storyline.

Acting:
The acting of every cast was superb! Specially the two main lead role, I didn't know that Ji Sung's acting skills was that good! no, it's not good, it's more than good, it's great! Portraying 7 personalities? Damn! That was freakin hard, man! I bet that he'll win in the next baeksang art awards! He deserves to get the grand prize coz' he's so versatile! He's like the male version of Jeon Ji Hyun coz both actors are versatile.

Rewatch Value:
I'm the type of person who always rewatch the drama's best and comedy parts, and KMHM has a lots of funny parts specially when Cha Do Hyun is turning into Yo Na, a female hghschool who loves handsome guys. I'm really laughing my ass off while watching her, Ji Sung delivered Yo Na's character so well, actually he delivered all of characteristics of Do Hyun's personalites well.

I like to thank the writer, the director and producer for making this kind of drama. Kudos to the whole KMHM team! You did a very good job guys, I hope you'll make another KDrama as good as this one.

A well-made sweet comedy-romantic full of silly moments which makes you laugh a lot BUT doesn't really have something new to say neither as a romantic-comedy nor a musical drama !
Good and different characters structure but you can't see so much development in their personality features as the story goes on and on ! Anyways , You'll enjoy this drama ! Be sure of that !
STORY (6/10) : The whole idea is fun , lovely and different but NOT LOGICAL at many points ! A girlish girl enters a band of 3 boys as a BOY ! I know for asians it's mostly easy to change their facial gender but what about her VOICE ???! I mean it must be pretty easy for singers and musicians to tell the difference between male's and female's voice (It's pretty easy for everyone though!) and It wasn't at all like that PSH has a boyish or rough voice or even boyish behaviour as a girl who used to be a NUN! Don't get me wrong I don't say I'm totally against this story ! Disney's MULAN is my most favorite classic animation , you know :D AND ALSO Mrs. Hong , the screenwriter is someone I admire so much !
ACTING (8/10) : GREAT ! I loved the actings so much ! I think all the main roles did their best with their characters ! They could easily touch your heart and play with your feelings and make you cry and laugh with them !
STILL , I wish I could see more of their characters development !
MUSIC (8/10) : Unlike many others (You're Beautiful) is NOT my first K-drama but It's my first Korean Musical drama ! What do we want from a musical drama at the first point ?! right ! MUSIC ! this drama had pretty good soundtracks but not enough live musics playing ! At first you can see some , but as the story gets more and more involved with the love triangle (or maybe love square, lol !) between the main roles ... it seems they're forgetting thier passion for music , as mucisians ! BUT let me confess something ! Both PSH and JGS were great as actors who are trying to sing ! I loved thier singing I wish I could see more of that in the drama !
REWATCH VALUE (7/10) : Most of the things happen in this drama are very predictable ! But what I didn't like at all about it might be the ending which is a copy conference of what happened in the movie (Do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do) ! I was really shocked of seeing the exact same scene , seriously !
Despite many things This drama is very enjoyable and funny to watch ! cool and friendly athmosphere ! Sweet teenage-like romance story involved with some good music and funny moments !
Final word : reviewing is mostly about comparing ! So nothing is 100% in this world as well as this review ,It's only written comparing with other dramas/movies and it's rated toward my other ratings for other worse or better dramas/movies !
Thanks for reading my words ! Bye ^_^

Kisarazu Cat's Eye is quirkly story about someone who enjoying his life with his friends as usual despite he has a cancer. It has craziness, heartwarming, and sarcastic at the same time in their daily life.It show the anger and frustation on every character. It must watch when you're 15+ because of sexual content.I really like the unusual plot of the episode. How the story work is great awesome.

The cast were actually good. The best character is Ozzy. I also like the Bussan and Miss Mirei. The friendship of Bussan and the gang is genuine. The meh characher for me is Mohko,i always annoyed when i see her.Sometimes i annoyed with the overeacting Master. At least ,their acting is good. The sound effect is just moderate.

I would reccomended you to watch KCE if you liked light unusual cancer patient person story.

I've lost an idea to watch so i watched birth to beauty
i've read many review this drama is quite good
i'm not skipping everything .the first episode until twelve is quite good
but start to decreasing in the middle (13 until 18) because the scriptwriter is losing the the consistant of the character (if you watch it maybe you'll understand)
the end (19-21) is quite good but i think it can be better than that.
the music is quite moderate.
kudos to the witch reporter who act so btch.she's so great
its not bad drama though it can be better.

Arrgh. While looking for good Jdramas I stumbled upon this “gem” (sarcasm). Overall I felt like this drama lacked real relationships between its characters who were unlikable anyway.

Pros: there are a host of characters with unique personalities and methods. The acting is superb and totally believable. You completely believe these characters are who they are. This drama allows a cool inside look into crime, loan sharking, corrupted officials and the underworld.

Cons: The lead female is clueless and is constantly tricked. Each episode is the same, a problem is presented the lead tries to solve it, she requires someone’s help to resolve the problem, they solve it together, and she is tricked again. Although the lead character attempts to be a robin hood; it seems like she is constantly thwarted and is unable to accomplish any real goals. What annoyed me the most is there are no characters who have positive relationships and everyone seems to be very selfish.

The verdict: This drama was bleh. I fast forwarded my way through it unable to take how bored I was with watching the same person being tricked over and over again. Additionally I have begun to appreciate the side stories that other dramas usually develop. I think this drama is best for people who like problem solving and trickery; as for someone like me who likes dark comedies or rom-coms this wasn’t a good fit.

I just got done watching this drama and I loved it. It’s corny, it’s cheesy, it’s funny, it’s sweet and it’s a part mystery part period drama!

Pros: Jiro. I loved Jiro in this! While he isn’t the best actor we got see a few different sides of him. There was cool fighting that wasn’t corny but very interesting and some fan service (yea for abs!) The supporting characters were really good and experienced some character development. The story lines were really good, and all of the romances were sweet and not annoying. AND the theme song is boss! :)
Cons: all of the female characters (except the nurse) were very annoying. Nikki’s pouting and voice got on my nerves. The wardrobe department was MIA; lots of repeat outfits, ugly stupid outfits and lots of sweat stains.
Overall: I really liked the drama, it was well done and it avoided almost all of the drama clichés I see in T or C dramas. The problem and the story resolution were all understandable and reasonable. It was fresh, interesting and pumped full of eye candy. I would have given this a 10 but the story ending was so "arrrgghhh! I need more" it got a 8.5. I hate loose ends, and hope this has a 2nd season. i need a second season!

Ok , Fortunately this was NOT at all my first K-drama but I watched It some years ago so It's kinda a part of my memory ! Why this drama is super popular specially OVERSEAS ?! I DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE ! I know too many people who describe this drama as if it's the best Korean drama ever made (?!) And I really wish I could politely tell these people : Hey dude ! I know it's one of the most memorable dramas to you and I DO RESPECT your opinions but seriously If you insist it's the BEST k-drama two things are possible ! 1) You haven't see other much-better K-dramas at all ! / 2) You DO NOT know how a GREAT drama is really like !!!
STORY (6/10) : A sweet yet not original Cinderella-like love story between a poor girl and a super rich but immature guy who tries so hard to look COOL and AWESOME (and he really makes it lol!) the story begins showing how strangly the girl changes the whole rough personality of the guy during a very short time then continues with some unnecessary scenes of showing the luxury , fun , jollity life of these four called-amazing guys who start sharing their randan with two super-simple sometimes-pitiful highschool girls for NO SPECIFIC reason ! THEN the writer who seems he/she has gotten a bit tired with love triangle issues between Ji-Ho , Joon Pyo and Jan Di makes a VERY right decision of working a little more on the other charecters development and tries to entertain us with their backgrounds and challenges in life ! For Example : Ji Ho's mysterious and miserable childhood with his grandfather (which wasn't clearly explained at last , as if it was supposed to get finished as soon as possible but STILL it was a GOOD one) and Kim Bum's sad love story (which was fine I think ! )
BUT THEN something that wasn't fair here which bothered me a bit , is surly Woo Bin's character ! I mean It's not fair ! If this drama is mainly about F4 I wish they would give him A BIT more attention like they did for other boys ! He's a main role after all ! No new point ! The story is simple !
ACTING (7/10) : Well , I know so much better actings of Lee Min Ho in other dramas but about this one ... I think he wasn't 100% great, but he was FINE ! Goo Hye Sun could be much better but she wasn't BAD at all ! Kim Hyun Jonng !!! Uhhh ! I'm sorry , I'm a big fan of his singing but he couldn't transfer a single kind of emotion , for God's sake ! Not crying nor laughing ! All were super artificial and not tangible at all ! Kim Bum was pretty good and I think his acting in this drama was his best !
MUSIC (8/10) : memorable and lovely ! my favorite was Starlight Tears ! ;)
REWATCH VALUE (5/10) : I'm afraid I don't have any plan for rewatching this drama ! Unlike most of my friends , I only saw it once , and I think It was quite enough ! But as so many people are insisting of watching it over again , maybe you'll do it too !
AND FINALLY : Despite the fact that it could be much better , what makes me and many others have a special feeling and RESPECT about this drama must be the revolution it makes with using a fantasy Cinderella-like love story in a regular melodrama with a brand new atmosphere of Korean Drama Industry , which makes them say : Oh My God ! This is why I've been waiting for !
In other words : B.O.F tries it's best to GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY LOVE ! And really really really makes the audiences look forward to see the next EP , using a calculated and professional order of the PLANS and SCENES which is ADORABLE !
Final word : reviewing is mostly about comparing ! So nothing is 100% in this world as well as this review ,It's only written comparing with other dramas/movie and it's rated toward my other ratings for other worse or better dramas/movies !
Thanks for reading my words ! Bye ^_^

This is based on the manga 'Q.E.D. - Shoumei Shuuryou' by Katou Motohiro and is quite faithful to the original. I've always been a huge fan of the manga and must've read each chapter at least 5 times. That being said, I'll probably review this w.r.t. the manga and be prejudiced at times. I had huge expectations from this drama, but they all came dripping down, if not pouring down. Pardon my language, but I feel like murdering the casting director if I can get my hands on him/her. The secondary characters are all fine, but Nakamura Aoi and Takahashi Ai just don't fit the characters. I never give much importance to height, but a shorter guy would've suited the timid character of Toma So more.

Story: It's the story of genius boy Toma So who graduated from MIT as a teenager and returns to Japan to enjoy high school life. There he meets Mizuhara Kana, a highly energetic girl and member of the kendo club. They get involved in various cases which they solve using his brain and her brawn.

Acting/Cast: If I had not read the manga, I would've appreciated the acting more, but now I'm unable to do so. Being a manga fanatic, I like to see characters portrayed accurately, which didn't happen here.

Music: Worth listening to a few times, nothing more.

Rewatch: In two minds here, though I guess I'll give it another try sometime.

Verdict: if you've read the manga, you might be disappointed. If you've not, watch this first and then read the manga - you'll appreciate it more that way,

I started watching this only because of Priscilla - she's one of my favorite actors and I like how she acts her age in this drama. So lemme say this at the beginning itself - I was cheering for her from the get go and wanted Elaine out of the picture asap (my apologies to Elaine fans).

Though the drama stressed a lot on the use of mobile phones, I was somehow only interested in the interactions between the characters and not how they interacted. It's a simple story of two people (Cho Kin and Ting Sun), who first met when her father and his sister passed away in a fire accident. They both feel the agony of the other, but are in no state of mind to talk to each other. They meet years later when her mother agrees to babysit his daughter. Though Ting Sun might seem to be enjoying the perfect married life with a dutiful wife and a cute, obedient daughter, it is not the same on the inside. Slowly we come to realize the truth about the family and how they come to terms with it. As expected, for the main characters to come together, the wife has to leave. On the other hand, we have Cho Kin initially paired with some reta--, I mean an unsuitable person, and I was left waiting for them to break up. Cho Kin and Ting Sun come together due to his daughter Yau Yau (who's so adorable) and slowly come to realize the importance of having someone who really loves them. Ting Sun feels that she might end up like his (ex-)wife and shuns her, but she refuses to let go. ("Yau Yau is mine, that sofa is mine", I absolutely loved that scene)

Concluding Thoughts: It is a must watch if you're a Priscilla fan. If you liked her in Madam Cutie on Duty or Karma Rider, you'll love her here. Even if you're not, I'd recommend this drama to anyone looking for a long walk down the romantic lane.
