1) The reason I watched this:

Mainly because I read the manga and wanted to see the drama's adaptation. Then, I found out that Okada Masaki is the lead actor so I became more excited to watch it.

2) Storyline/Plot:

Honestly speaking, the storyline is kind of silly but it wasn't boring or unattractive, it was surprisingly enjoyable.

Positive Points:

*This drama is one of the nicest manga adaptations that I've seen so far.

*Main Genres:

--->Humor: I remember laughing several times during this drama, mostly in the third or the fourth episode. There were some hilarious moments in here that I had to pause in order to continue my laughter.
The style of Japanese comedy has always proved its way in making any drama lighter and enjoyable.
The comedy scenes weren't randomly present, it was nicely calculated in order to bring laughter when it's needed; that concept was highly appreciated.

--->School: This drama can also be considered as a school drama since it had all the elements that indicates so. The school side was the most hilarious part with a teacher like Hanazawa Yumeko who was really fun to see around, also the kendo teacher (Ryo's father) and all the classmates that made this part enjoyable.

*Another positive point that I should mention; it was really fun to see Asuka's Otomen friends and their ways of hiding their true self; it was very hilarious at many points.

*The imaginations moments that the characters had were always great and enjoyable.

Negative Points:

--->Romance: the romantic concept wasn't appreciated, I would like to think about this drama as a funny school drama rather than a rom-com; it's really better to think about it that way because romance hasn't deliverd much that can make you watch the drama because of it.
The romance was the annoying light type sometimes, it wasn't completely hateful but I can't possibly mention it in the positive points column.

Story: 8/10

3)Acting/Cast :

*Okada Masaki:

I like him as an actor , I've seen many of his dramas and appreciated most of them. Here, he had the most adorable role ever as a very "cute" role. He didn't fail my expectations; he's always a great actor so I was right for watching this drama because of him.
The character wasn't very different from the one in the manga, actuallly, it was more appealing. I always focus on characters when I watch a manga/anime adaptation in order to see their potency in portraying the orginal ones. Here, I must say that I liked Asuka's character; the way he was trying to hide his love for girly cute things while being the tough kendo captin that everyone loves and finding friends that share his Otomen self in the meantime: It was more than satisfying as a live character adaptation.

*Kaho:

I only saw her in "Tokyo Girl" but I don't judge an actor/actress over a film so let's say that I am not very familiar with her before this drama. Here, I believe that her role was nicely done although I believe that her acting skills are lacking something.
The character didn't attract me, at least, not the way Asuka's character did. I loved the times where Ryo was saving Asuka; those where some great moments.
Ryo's character can be clueless while being on a tough girl mode. It's true that I didn't fall for her character but as a manga adaptation it was an acceptable character.

*Other Cast: I loved the remaining cast, every character in this drama had a unique concept plus there were funny characters everywhere!

*Appreciated Character: Tonomine was a very appreciated character all the way through the drama whether he was Asuka's rival or tough mainly man; he always had interesting scenes.

*Relationships:

--->Romance: I can't possibly speak about romantic chemistry because romance wasn't heavily present. Instead, I will mention that Asuka and Ryo's relationship was really cool to watch.

--->Friendship: Asuka's relationship with the kendo members, Tachibana, Ariake and especially Tonomine was literally mesmerizing.

Cast: 7.5/10
Acting: 8.5/10

4) The ending:

The closer scene was one of the nicest dramas closures. Overall, the ending was cute and adorable.

The ending: 8.5/10

5) My impresion (How did it affect me):

* I really enjoyed this drama, I think I enjoyed it a little too much.
*Laughter moments were very present so there weren't any chance to get bored.
*I really appreciated the characters in this drama and the adaptation overall.

*Is this drama memorable: Yes, it is. I still remember its event (especially the funny moments) even though I watched it a long time ago.

My impression: 8/10

6) Overall:

*If you read the manga then you would appreciate this drama's adaptation.
*If you like funny dramas then you would enjoy this.
*If you're looking for a romatic drama, you shouldn't expect much from this.
*If you like Okada Masaki, you need to watch this because it will give you another image aboout this actor.

Overall: 7.5/10.

1) The reason I watched this:

Again, I decided to watch this film because I thought it was Korean biut it turned out to be from Hong Kong. It's really hard for me to watch a Chinese romantic film because all the Chinese films that I watched were martial arts related.
Just like the other few romantic Chinese films that I've seen so far, I had to be in a good mood in order to watch this.

2) Storyline/Plot:

The story isn't that special, the main story is common about a rich man falling for a poor girl; the kind of story that we're all used to. Even the other two stories weren't that unique, actually one of those two ressembled the main story except there was a switch.

Positive Points:

*In the positive points column, I have to mention that the existence of three different love stories was nice, I would've been really annoyed and bored if it was only the main story.

*Main Genres:

--->Romance: To start with, I didn't like the main love story because it was so cheesy therefore let's not talk about it.
The other two love stories were accepted, I don't know why I focused on them more than the main one; I think they were more attractive plus the script of those two was nicely written unlike the other one. Just because the film didn't focus on them like the main story made them more interesting to the point that I prefered them.

*I can't think about any other positive points but let's mention that the story's development was good sometimes, only "sometimes".

Negative Points:

--->Romance: The main romantic story that should've been the most attractive failed to do so, it wasn't boring but the other two were better. Even event's progress wasn't that great; at the beginning, things seemed appeling then everything just faded away.

*Another negative point: The film's story was full of cliche plus many elements felt missing.

Story: 5/10.

3) Acting/Cast:

*Lau Andy:

I only saw him in Wuxia films before so it was hard to watch him in a romantic production but I still have no copalains about his acting skills.
The character is a usual character for me, nothing special about it. In the main love story, I liked him better than the lead female and this have nothing to do with gendres, it's just that his character was better expressed.

*Shu Qi:
I am not familiar with her acting skills. I can't judge an actor/actress after one film especially if it's a a non deep romantic film.
The character was really good at the beginning, there were good vibes but as the story progressed, Milan became so shallow and I hate shallow characters especially if they doesn't justify their shallow behavior. There were some points were I felt that the character failed to deliver anything.

*Other cast: I liked the remaining characters (the four supporting roles) better than the lead ones but that doesn't mean they were great, they were just "Okay" compared to Sam and Milan's characters.

*Relationships:

--->Romance: even though , I didn't appreciated the main romantic story, the chemistry was present and appreciated. The other two stories contained less chemistry.

--->Friendship: It was between Sam, his secretary and his driver; that relationship was good and entertaining. Actually, it's the best relationship in this film.

Cast: 5.5/10
Acting: 7/10

4) The ending:

The ending wasn't unique since it was a typical rom-com ending.

The ending: 6.5/10

5) My impression (How did it affect me):

*I didn't enjoy this film that much, I don't drop films but if it was a drama; I would've dropped it from the first episode.
*This film wasn't boring but it didn't entertain me at all.

*Is this film memorable: No it's not, I won't remember its events after two or three weeks, I will just remember that I watched it.

My impression: 4/10

6) Overall:

*If you're looking for a film to pass time with, this can be what you're looking for.
*If you like romantic films, you may like this.

Overall: 5/10.

What can I say about this amazing drama? I am so so sad that it has ended after waiting each week for the new eps to be up and following the story. I abosutly adore this ever so muchh. It isn't really romantic it has its moments towards the end defently.
The story is based around a pregnancy and how Ji An's life was affected by it not just within her body limits but her job and coming to terms with being a single mother. And The views on fatherhood are highlighted in this story aswell. I don't really know how to explain it but if you have watched it you will understand what I mean. The fatherhood was outcasted as it usual is in our society. I liked how they highlighted this but also how from the mothers point of view it was hard and difficult descions she had to make.

Amazing story. Amazing acting and AMAZING music (sooo catchy)

This movie seemed a bit pointless to me. After watching the first two death notes and having the second film end the way it did. I was unsure of what this movie would be about. Since the first two films were rounded off so nicely.

This film seems to have nothing to do with the fist two death notes, except for the fact that L's in it. But this film could be a completely unrelated film if it wanted to be. It doesn't even feature a death note.

For this reason I'm going to review this movie as if it was a seperate film from the death note series...

The acting was good, L is such a loveable character that he doesn't even have to say anything for you to like him. The child actors used in this film were suprisingly good for their age.

The storyline was fair, it was slow at parts and sometimes it didn't make sense to me, I wasn't sure if that was the writing or the tranlastion I watched. But I was satisfied by the ending.

I don't really remeber anything about the music. It wasn't impressionable, therefore neither good nor bad. I would have noticed if a song was completely out of place.

Overall I would say watch this movie, but don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as the first two movies. I would watch it again again just to watch L. No regrets!

I thought it was finally time that I watched You're Beautiful as it seems the drama that most people watch when they first get into asian dramas. And I can now see why...

This drama is likeable, funny, at some points silly and moves at a quick pace. Sometimes with dramas like this I find that I skip parts because the storyline isn't moving quick enough. However with this drama I wanted to watch every bit because it well written and there is always something interesting happening.

The acting in this is amazing. The characters I was supposed to hate, I hated and the characters I was supposed to love, I loved! So they're all doing their jobs properly! Jeremy was by far my favourite character, as he was totally hilarious. I bet that you will love the characters too. I can't find a fault with the acting.

The music was also brilliant, which is especially important in this drama as it is focused in the music industry. I was bopping along with the songs, and by the end of it I had even started to sing along!

The only negative (Which isn't really that negative) about You're Beautiful is the love triangle. It's one of those ones where you want the girl to be with all of the guys and not to have to chose one. This drama certainly plays with your feelings and I was shouting at the screen at points. Trying to get the girl to with a different guy, but then when I thought about it, I decided that all of her options were good. I wouldn't be able to choose.

However the love triangle would make it hard to rewatch this, because once you've watched it, you know who she ends up with. But I would watch again for the funny moments!

Overall a brilliant drama, well worth watching. Plenty of eye-candy, drama and good music.

I consider this drama a little gem in its genre. It doesn't have a tremendously eventful plot, no big, earthshaking truth to be revealed in the last episode, no memory loss, birth secrets or time jump - forgive me, I couldn't help it.
It tells an ordinary story in a refreshingly modern way, without giving up on those elements we inevitably associate to k-dramas and make them into the shows we are all addicted to: a love triangle or square of some sort, love obstacles of various nature, parents who meddle but without being completely unreasonable or out of this universe evil and a corporate sub-plot.

I wouldn't call this a romantic comedy. I think it's more of a life drama. There's romance, of course, and there's a mature, clever humour, but both these aspects are rationed throughout the narration in a sedate and yet very effective way. This is why I believe I do, I do isn't for you, if what you're looking for is a typical rom-com. The pace may deter some, and others could find the raised issues uninteresting or controversial.
I loved it because it offers the viewer a range of different points of view on subjects which are very common in real life, and not so common in the Korean drama world; there's no judgment involved, no stance is presented as better than the other. It's up to you to decide what you would do and how you would react in a similar situation.

A life drama is only successful when the characters are well outlined. And this is the true strength of I do, I do. I myself was amazed at how gradually and yet fiercely I got attached to some of the characters, mainly the two leads. They are both so well portrayed I ended up identifying without having a trait in common with either one.
Acting is spot on. I consider Kim Sun A a guarantee. I may not like all the dramas she acted in, but it's never been due to her. She enters the character in such a plausible way, she does not create fictional characters but real persona. Always believable, never predictable. And let me add how wonderfully satisfying it is when you finally land on a drama with an intelligent, self-assured, successful female lead who does not passively accepts events but make them happen!

The character of Tae Kang has been an amazing revelation for me. A cute thing who looks like a puppy and acts like one is all I believed he was in the beginning. I was very wrong. He's tremendously endearing and such a blend of childlike enthusiasm and caring maturity I couldn't help but being completely captured by him. My admiration goes to the actor for capturing the essence of his character and portraying it in such an adorable way.
The chemistry between those two is also a work-in-progress. Their feelings grow as the characters grow. We fall in love with Tae Kang the moment Ji An does, not before. I loved this aspect the most, as I am usually very frustrated by knowing a truth which the characters will be oblivious about for three quarters of a drama.

The secondary characters are normal people. They make mistakes, they gossip, they laugh, they get angry. With the exception of "madame CEO" - and her horrid taste in figurative art, allow me to add - I liked them all. Everyone has an arc and a role in this story. They are not thrown in just in order to fill empty spaces.

The music isn't unforgettable, but I must confess the main theme is addicting and the instrumental pieces very well chosen.

This isn't a drama I will run to re-watch as soon as it's finished airing. However, it has many delicious, thought-provoking and poignant moments I'll be more than happy to immerse in again in the future. I recommend this drama to everyone who likes a solid, modern script, unusually believable characters and a no-nonsense plot.

This drama is a refreshing change of pace from other Korean dramas I have seen lately. Although the focus of this drama is Ji An’s pregnancy, I think that the theme could be that life isn’t always what you expect it to be. I think the progression of this story is well laid out and moving.

I love this story of a strong woman that has her life changed, but she still remains strong. Kim Sun Ah is a great actress. I think she played Ji An very well. First she is closed off and hard, but after meeting Tae Kang she changes to a woman that slowly begins to show her emotions with out losing herself. She shows how tuff it must be to have to tell your family, friends, and in her case the company about her pregnancy. I thought her reaction and the reactions of those people to the news were very genuine. Lee Jang Woo does a great job as Tae Kang, who is at first a boy with no ambition that turns into a man with focus. Tae Kang may be immature, but his sincerity is what I think Ji An sees in him. Park Gun Hyung does an excellent job of playing Eun Sung. He is smart, good looking, strong and protective.

The side stories and other characters also add to the story and the actors did a really good job.

Oh and the music is really good.

This is definitely ranked up there as a must see drama for me. I will probably watch it again.

I Do I Do is modern and stylish. It’s sexy and fashionable. It’s funny and witty. And the main characters are so damn attractive, young, talented, successful and cool. They are the kind of people you want to be, or at the very least, wish that you knew.

But above all these things, this drama is smart. It is perhaps the most cleverly written and well developed drama I have ever watched.

I Do I Do takes conventional ideas and attitudes and challenges them head on, like that bully in the school yard that turns a kid upside down to empty his pockets for lunch money. Where other dramas tip toe around sensitive topics, this drama puts a spotlight on those social taboos, and its characters handle them with grace, style, courage and dignity. It’s truly inspiring.

So many aspects of this drama were pleasing for me. But in this review, I want to highlight one actor in particular who absolutely shined. That person is Lee Jang Woo. I went into this drama expecting Kim Sun Ah to be amazing, and of course, she was. But what I was not expecting was to be blown away by this kid playing Park Tae Kang.

Ironically, within the first few episodes, I had written Jang Woo off. I’d hastily decided that, not only was Tae Kang an annoying and useless character, but also that Jang Woo’s acting abilities were questionable.

Less than halfway through the drama, I had to eat those words.

While all four of the lead characters grow and develop beautifully, Park Tae Kang did a complete 180 in this drama. The change was so gradual and subtle that I looked up and found myself smiling like a giddy school girl at the mere sight of his face on screen. And I don’t think it’s so much that HE changes, but rather my understanding of him became clearer. It’s amazing how a well written story line and some good acting can alter your perspective and emotions so quickly!!

Some might write this drama off too hastily because it starts off a little slower than most. But like any good story, it develops over time and gains momentum, getting better and stronger with each episode. I really can’t say anything bad about this drama. Nothing about it disappointed me. I wish I could literally embrace it in a nice, big hug.

One more point I would like to make. I am not some kind of rocket scientist, but there are a lot of dramas out there that, I feel, insult my intelligence as a viewer. But this drama never did that. Not once. It never fell into the same old clichés or patterns. Through all 16 episodes, the actions of the characters were believable, consistent and rationale. Also, the events therein even surprised me, intrigued me or moved me emotionally. This is very rare for me.

I really wish more dramas were like this one. And I hope I Do I Do can set a new standard for the quality of writing and acting that audiences desire and deserve.

This by far is one the best Love drama`s i`ve watched. I couldn't stop myself. It was a great drama I was glued to the screen taking in every single moment. The chemistry between the two main actors was so ever touching and at times had me rewatching scenes to reabsorb the moment. The Moon kept me interested throughout the whole series and I can safely say this is my favourite drama and now holds the title of the best love drama NUMBER-1-. Bye Moon..... wat else can i watch now after such an EPIC drama.

Ok here i go. I hate long reviews so i`ll try to keep it short. 1st of all this show is an excellent historical drama. It will pull you in for every single episodes.
Story - Main point reunification of Korea, but it follows Dukman jounery and how she climbed and over come the many obstacles to become Queen.
Politics - The political game was AWESOME and is one of the main driving force behind this drama. i loved it for my brain was working trying to figure out Mishil, Dukman and Bidam next move especially MISHIL!!! (love her)
Mishil - The evil one, She`s by far the most brilliant of them all and is my number-1- character. Her postion of seju is one that she did indeed deserve, but lost due to her ambition of trying to become Queen and ruler of shila. Her death was a lost to the show, even thought Bidam did a good job of fillin in.
Bidam - Mishil`s son with a sacred bone (royality) and Dukman`s true love. His devotion to her is by far the best in the show and border`s obession at times.
Dukman - Twin daughter to the King, but was sent away for her own safety. Her fight for her country was one of the building blocks and a key stone in the unification process.
Yushin - 1st love for Dukman and Chief marshall of shila. His devotion to shila is unsurpass by no one. He`s a Gayan by birth but accepted Shila as his country, that does not mean he turned his back on his people. For he stood up for them n fought for them on countless occassions.
i cant bother to go thru everyone, but every character plays a very important role like pieces on chess board. All in all this is a masterpiece and is for persons who love history, political game play and love to think. WATCH IT!!!

It started off really great and had a lot of humor, but, for me, became very predictable, dragging, and annoying for the majority of the scenes not long after. I applaud Gong Yoo for his acting; his crying scenes are heartbreaking. Yoo and the minor characters, GDR's parents, brother, the parents envious past "lovers," and the teachers are what I looked forward to watch.

Shin Won Ho is a great young actor, and what a waste that he had to play sleeping beauty for the majority of the drama. I would had preferred if they mixed him in every now and then like in 49 Days.

And Yoo's original character, SYJ, wasn't much of character. For the audience, we barely know anything about him--whether he's bad, good, a cheater, and etc. So right away, KKJ is likable because of a very misjudged and very vague antagonist.

The heroine is the worse. She's naive, pitiful, and annoying. She lectures KKJ all the time about being an adult, when she acts worse than a teenager. I found KKJ the adult in this drama. GDR kept being easily persuaded by Ma Ri all the time; she never listened to her gut or defended her man. Kudos to Lee Ming Jung for playing such a horrid heroine so well.

Ma Ri's character is annoying, manipulative, and clingy--but what do you expect from a spoiled teenage girl that has been in love with someone, I assume for years?

Another waste of a character was SYJ's other "love" interest Lee Se Young played by Jang Hee Jin. Ma Ri's character completely overshadowed the potential LSY character's had to play an evil antagonist.

Overall, I might not know how it ends yet, but this drama lacks in so many aspects that no matter the ending, it won't woo me now. I'm happy I began watching it because it introduced me to Gong Yoo; I'll check our his other works in the future.

Read the manga and/or watched the anime?
Worried this will 'ruin it'?
Worry no more! You will LOVE it!
Never heard of the manga or the anime?
Worried this is far from what you are usually used to in a drama?
Worry no more! You will LOVE it!

A hilarious yet strangely moving story about the how a love of music can bring together people of contrasting personalities on a journey of epic self-discovery. Sounds cheesy but fellow sceptics, worry not! This drama is a joy to watch. Just stick with it and I promise you won't regret it.

In their roles, Tamaki Hiroshi and Ueno Juri bring to life complicated characters in such a way no manga/anime enthusiasts can fault. As with any adaptation, there are tons that could go wrong; from executing the story to getting right the casting/acting. Furthermore, the hardest thing to do is maintain the 'feel' of the original piece of work which was drawn or animated. This is hard to do this without making the drama look tacky or overacted. Nodame Cantabile however, managed to really capture the point of 'live action' making this drama a perfectly complementary to the manga/anime. Yet it as a stand-alone it somehow manages to remain accessible and enjoyable to the general public.

The incredibly colourful supporting characters are just wonderful to watch, with enough screen-time to keep things lively and interesting, yet not too much to keep us from enjoying the story of the two wonderful leads. The progression of the story is perfect, not too slow to become a drag and not too fast to hurt the overall impact of the drama.

The slapstick humour is so well-executed that you can't help but laugh out loud (even if you saw yourself as having a more 'sophisticated' sense of humour). The blend of comedy and serious drama is flawless and there is enough to please those who look forward to tearful emotional scenes. What can I say, the drama caters to variety of people! If you know a thing or two about classical music, you are bound to enjoy the wonderful pieces portrayed. And if you don't, you'll be surprised to find yourself with a new sense of appreciation for it.

I can't sing enough praise for this drama. It is far from typical, effortlessly funny and uplifting. Great chemistry between the entire cast, tons of memorable scenes and wonderful use of music.

For lovers of music, comedy and drama, a definite must see. And for those who have doubts about whether this drama is their cup of tea Broaden your horizons and give it a go.

You could be pleasantly surprised. :)

At first I was a little reluctant to watch this drama. It had gotten some bad reviews, bad, bad, bad reviews, but then, it has also gotten some good ones. Therefore the main factor for me, for watching this drama was the cast. And what a beautiful cast it is!

The acting and the casting is fine, I have no issues with that, there is on-screen chemistry and the crying is decent and believable and doesn't make me want to punch the soppy actors.

The soundtrack is really good! I really liked it and I have now downloaded the OST. All the songs are totally my cup of tea, and they aren't overplayed and they fit the feel of the drama, so all is well in that respect.

This, like most K-Dramas does not have much in the way of realism. Lots of stuff is exaggerated and some of the characters (e.g. the parents of Mae-Ri and Jung-In) whack everything totally out of proportion and throw hissy fits all over the place. Be prepared, but on the plus side, while they have a prominent role in the story their screen time isn't to the extent that I want to hunt down the script-writer for creating such awful characters.

Now, the first episode made me want to stop. Actually, that's not quite fair, the first ten minutes of it made me want to stop. It's a bit hectic and weird in the very beginning, but stick through the zombie wedding and it evens out. The plot itself, I personally haven't seen done before (so that is a plus) and I thoroughly enjoyed what was going on and the twists and turns (some of which were predictable and others not so) until about episode eight.

Around episode eight (of a sixteen episode drama, so halfway) it started to get a little monotonous... I felt like nothing that had happened had really progressed the situation and wondered if the story was going to be kept in an infinite loop for the other eight episodes. This was not the case, so rejoice!

And I think most of my reluctance to continue after episode eight is due to the love triangle (DON'T WORRY I'M NOT GOING TO SPOIL IT, EVEN THOUGH IT'S PREDICTABLE) In love triangles, I always end up rooting for the under-dog, or the one who gets left behind so I was a bit reluctant to keep seeing love-interest-2 being ignored especially after trying so hard in comparison to love-interest-1 who isn't nearly as nice, or as attractive. *sigh*.

Now, the re-watch value... Is pretty low. I don't think I'd watch it again, but then again I might.
And the sole reason for this would be to see Kim Jae Wook being his stunning, sexy, beautiful, perfect self in a SUIT. It's just total eye-candy.

I'd also like to mention that some people love, love, LOVE this drama and others HATE it. I enjoyed it. It had it's cute moments, it had it's ups and downs but in general I did not feel like I was slugging through it (like I did past episode 20 of Boys Over Flowers).

While I would not recommend this drama highly, I would encourage you to give it a try.

I've watched the first episode of the anime but really never watched it. But when this drama came out, I watched it. It was really funny and enjoyable to watch. There were also many cute moments between the main girl and the boys. I loved how she develops friendship among the boys. Overall, it was a good drama. Worth watching.
