I didn't love this drama as much as other people have. This drama did have a good story line and good actors, but I found myself forwarding through parts of each episode because it started to get boring. Maybe it was just me. But this drama didn't appeal to me as much. The story was captivating, but kind of dragged on. Actors were fantastic, though the main female actress kind of threw me off with her fake eye contacts. (Im not sure why, but it bothered me through the whole show). Music was okay aswell; however, it isn't something that would get stuck in your head. Overall, everything about this drama was great; Story, actors, character developement and relationships, were fanastic. I was just not a fan of some of the things going on.

Over all 7/10.

Would recommend for light drama watchers.

So I wasn't planning on writing a review for this movie, however after watching it I feel compelled to write one.

Story: The story is like the synopsis says, a girl, Naomi, loses her memory of the past 5 years. For the first theird of the story she is lost trying to figure out who she is and what her life was like before. For the second third, she seems to not care about who she was because she had changed and she liked who she was now and not before. For the third half, it seems like she was split between her old and new self. So yea the story was a bit confusing. I feel like there was no smooth transition of events. It didn't flow well for me. I get that this is supposed be one of those deeper emotional think-hard movies, and I usually get those, but with this movie I just ended up confused and a bit upset about the ending. There was no real wrap-up of the story, I get that the ending is supposed to indicate that she decided to be with Mirai and that they were perfect for each other since the beginning, but there is no sense of closure for any of the characters. I still want to know what the heck happened to them in between the time frame of the movie. That's another problem, they tried to fit a whole year's worth of events in one movie. They way they handled made it seems mashed and mixed together. I still don't know why she and Yuji broke up. I know that he had told her to forget him if he goes crazy, but did he go crazy? Because at the end he seemed pretty normal to me. Also, she promised Yuji that she wouldn't leave him even if he went crazy. There is no real explanation of why they broke up or how they fell out of love. It just happened... What I liked though was the concept of the story, and the setting. I thought the whole going to an Japanese American school thing was cool, although it didn't really fit into the story well. There was no main purpose of the American aspect other than to get the Hollywood actors, like Emma Roberts, in this movie. This story would be the same with or without the American characters and in a all-Japanese high school.

Acting: The acting was ok. But some of the American actors, Ace especially, seemed a bit out of place among the Japanese actors. Also some of the Japanese actors seemed a bit forced when speaking English, especially Mirai. The best acting in my opinion was during the Yuji and Naomi scenes. Even those were a bit forced at times as well, especially the beach scene.

Music: I loved the music. Great music choices, in fact I'm going to look up the OST right now so I can get some of the songs.

Rewatch: I don't think I'll watch this headache of a movie again.

Overall: I liked the concept and idea, however the producers failed to take what could have been a great story and made it into a jumbled mess of a movie like this. Not having read the book, I feel that this story was just all over the place. It had a great meaning to it, You're never really who you think you are, People change. High School is just a memory that fades away. But it just got lost somehow in between when Naomi was choosing between all the boys she had fawning over her. When her dad explained the whole I forget High School and all the things I did as a kid, I was like oh so that was the point of this story. I had to think for 10 minutes about how this story fit with that theme. I gave it a seven because I really liked the Yuji story line and I liked Naomi's dad, but that's all I'll ever really remember of the story.

I had been meaning to watch Ikigami for a long while and finally watched today.

If you like novels like 1984, Lord Of The Flies, The Giver or Hunger Games...You may like watching Ikigami, The Ultimate Limit. Set in an unknown but familiar looking future time; the population is contained and controlled by random selection. Children are inoculated when they enter school and sometime during their young adulthood; the 'chosen to sacrifice for prosperity' are given 24 hours notice of their death. The story begins here for the viewer. We get to follow one man (Shota Matsuda) who's job it is to inform the chosen that their death is nigh.

I found it incredibly interesting; the different reactions people had to this news. This story is more about the human condition, human reactions in the face of death with nothing left to lose. It is not a rousing tale of the populous rising up to over throw the oppression. It is dark, sad and really touching.

The color pallet of the film lends itself to this feeling. Dark blue lighting, cloudy days, windowless rooms and dank underground work places. There are glimpses of light just as their are glimpses of hope in the lives of those lived and those left behind.

I've never read the manga but I am curious now. I recommend this film highly and not just because I am a rabid fan of Matsuda Shota. But I am a fan for a reason besides the superficial. He is a great actor, with a rubber face, fearless emoting and the ability to go very dark. He can turn it on a dime and be comedic too but for that you will have to watch some of his other films and dramas.

The whole cast was stellar. I particularly loved Yuta Kanai and Yamada Takayuki. Their acting was amazing and their stories touched my heart.

This is a cool movie. Give it a try if you are in the mood for darker fare.

Here's what I liked about the plot: it featured a heavier set heroine instead of the typical skinny one, also it featured an older women younger man which again isn't the norm for dramas, there was quite a bit of comedy woven into the story line, the sub plots were enjoyable. I really loved the cooking aspect of this drama

What I didn't like about the plot: the male lead's semi-flip flopping between her and the other girl, the parts with the other girl and the doctor seemed unnecessary and boring, it never really elaborated on why the male lead was so mad at the other girl, the guy who dumped her trying to get her to two time, and the ending was kind of a let down IMO.

The acting by all characters was very well done and I especially enjoyed the acting by the main lead, the male lead, and Mi Joo his niece.

The music was fine and I thought it was fun that they threw some some american songs in as well, which doesn't happen very often.

Rewatch value is just ok for me since while I liked this drama, I didn't fall head over heels for it like most people and I'd be ok with just seeing it this once. However if I was desperate for something to watch or bored out of my mind I would maybe watch an episode or two again.

Overall this was just a good drama for me because although the plot had some interesting themes and quite a bit of variety, I had a hard time getting into watching this drama (I started watching and put it on hold after ep3 for a few months before I picked it up again and finished it). The acting was excellent and the little girl was adorable, the music was good, and the rewatch value as state before is ok.

You may like this drama if you liked baby faced beauty, full house, flower boy ramen shop, Biscuit teacher star candy, or other older women/younger man and love contract dramas.

I only watched this show because Lee Min Ho was in it. The plot did sound funny to me but it turned out to be completely different from what I expected it to be.

Sorry to say, but the pairing is one of the worst I have ever seen. Their chemistry was just lousy and the characters terribly annoying. I stopped caring where the story went after 8th or 9th episode. It got better at this time and suddenly it went downhill again. It seemed more like a sex comedy at times.

Also, this show is poorly written. None of the sub-plots or side characters were interesting. All of them could have been killed in an airplane accident and I wouldn't have cared. I only watched it out of boredom. I absolutely hated the character of Park Gae In. She was clumsy, childish, annoying and dumb. She looked old but acted like a little child. I get that she never had the love of a mother, but that doesn't mean she has to stay crippled like a loveless child for her entire life. The only good quality she had was that she was caring towards the people she loved. Other than that, it was hard to stand her. Jin Ho's character was also boring and lacked depth. He was standoffish throughout the entire show. I really never understood his character. It had a lot of negative traits as well.

The show is not very enjoyable. I would not recommend it to anyone. There are much better shows out there. Go and rewatch your favorite drama than watching this absolute trash.

This show was pretty close to a masterpiece. This is definitely the BEST drama I have seen so far.

There are hardly any complaints from this show.

The story line and plot are excellent. I love the whole setting of the Joseon era. It provides gender bender in a whole new perspective. This show is the first ever gender bender scenario I have enjoyed thoroughly.

The show has an excellent cast. I am a very big fan of Park Min Young. She was the one who stole the spotlight as Kim Yon Shik. I have NO complaints when it comes to her character or any others. I think this show is the best I have seen in any language which has such great, over-the-top characterizations. Everything has to do with outstanding writing.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that they are all scholars, but it absolutely brilliant. It has the perfect female, perfect male, perfect antagonists and perfect second and third leads. The actors are equally good who have played their characters so very well. I rate them full where acting is concerned.

The direction seemed to be a bit clumsy at places but considering that this is a periodic drama I have to pat the director's back for the phenomenal settings. I almost felt like I was part of the Sungkyunkwan. I would love to meet such brainy scholars. The show had so many cool riddles that I liked it. Also, they seemed to have used heavy and formal language while speaking. I liked that too.

Not just the lingering mysteries and sub-plots, I was happy with the humor. Every episode had very funny moments, most of them consisting Geol-Oh and Yang Ha. Also the episodes where Lee Sun Joon is attracted to Kim Yon Shik and thinking he is a homosexual were very funny. I really loved the spirit of Kim Yon Hee. She is also one of my favorite fictional characters from tv shows now. I am not fond of females that are pushovers or without pride in stories.

Anyway, this show makes me hungry for more periodic dramas but I don't think any other one could be as good as this one. I would recommend to everyone who is searching for a no-nonsense drama.

I was fairly surprised by how good this drama is. I am not a very big fan of gender bender roles, but I decided to give this a chance after watching 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal' and 'Hana Kimi'. It was not at all disappointing.

Although the plot is guillable, the cast isn't. If it hadn't been a good cast I would have given up on this show in the first episode itself. It was funny right from the funny episode so I decided to continue it.

I really, really liked it. All the characters grew on me slowly and now it is definitely one of my favorite dramas. The only character I didn't like was Go Mi Nam. I wasn't a fan of hers. I get that she was about to be a nun and all, but that doesn't mean she has to be all that clueless about things. Also, I didn't like the way she was with the other nicer guys who genuinely loved her compared to Tae Kyung. He was overly domineering, harassing and downright offensive. I didn't like the fact that the girl was a total pushover. She seemed to lack self-respect and pride but she had plenty of selfishness. I didn't buy her angel-like innocent side.

Jeremy was probably the best character by the end of the show. He had more sides and depth to him than others had. He was kind, loving, caring and equally funny and entertaining. I would have probably chosen him over the other two. Shin Woo was alright but he had no personality other than his overly cheesy romantic side. It just didn't touch me. And I did like Tae Kyung- he did some pretty great things for Go Min Nam/Nyu but I think had it been Jeremy or Shin Woo, they would have probably done the same for her. So I kind of question this "one and only one" when it comes to his case.

The writing of the show is just alright. It lacked originality. All the sub-plots and ideas have been overly used. The direction of the show was also pretty alright. So because of a lack of original story line, it is not going to be the best drama I have seen so for.

It did get pretty lackluster in the last few episodes, but it was still a better show than so many others I have been recently watching.

This is the first ever kdrama I tried and was very wary at the beginning. I of course, had no expectations from this show and ended up enjoying it immensely.

The plot is funny and never bores you. There is one absolutely hilarious moment every episode and almost most of the other times also it makes you laugh. It is pretty lighthearted and the cast is very likable. Although I don't think Young-Jae was a very nice guy, it seemed like Ji-eun's love for him was true and unshakable. It did drag longer than required but the cast was good enough to make me stick to it.

I particularly found Ji-Eun, Hae-Won and Min-Hyuk to be very beautiful people. Their dressing style and the shooting locations were pretty eye-catching. I also like their house a lot.

It's just one of those dramas where you can grab a bowl of popcorn and watch it without worrying about too much drama. It will definitely not fail to make you laugh.

This is the second drama I saw and fell in love with Lee Min Ho immediately. This show came very useful to me when I was idle and depressed because I had nothing else to do on a lazy weekend.

The story line and plot were engrossing right from the first episode. I loved a political thriller. It had amazing action and marvelous performances by Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young. I think they are the best pair of any drama I have seen so far. Most importantly, the characters were as good as the actors.

This show has the best characterizations I have yet seen in a kdrama. The guy isn't a jerk and the girl isn't lacking in brains or pride. I love that she doesn't need saving from a guy every time because she can fight for herself pretty well- both physically and emotionally. I wish we had more strong female protagonists like Kim Na Na in all kdramas. If that happens, kdramas would be unbeatable.

I was constantly interested in how the revenge would take place and how each operations would be carried out. I was excessively bored because of the plot of the sick mother. The show had much interesting things for me to care for, so I don't think it was a necessity. It was just a plot device for the emotional factor to lure female viewers. Other than that, it had a great ending and I never felt let down. There were some dull moments here and there, but it was never beyond my patience to skip it altogether.

I recommend this show to everyone who is tired of cheesy romances in dramas.

This is one of the first dramas I have seen. The main reason I wanted to watch this was because it seemed more glamorous than the Japanese version 'Hana Yori Dango'. Also, Lee Min Ho won me over immediately in 'City Hunter' so I wanted to go and watch his other right then. Overall, it was pretty good and not disappointing at all.

The story is a very good one. It is pretty captivating right from the beginning. No problems there.

The whole cast is fairly good looking and they all gave good performances. The drama had all your typical moments of love, sadness, anxiety, anger and what-not. It was fast paced up till the fourteenth episode or so and after that it kind of deteriorated. It dragged on for way longer than was necessary. I would have probably lost interest if it wasn't for Gu Jun Pyo aka Lee Min Ho. I was not very fond of the actress who plays Guem Jan Di but she grew on me as the series progressed. They could have hired someone who Lee Min Ho had better chemistry with, but that actress gave a good performance throughout so I am not going to criticize her unfairly just because she wasn't pretty enough. I actually found her friend much prettier and better dressed than she was, but in the end it was Guem Jan Di who stole the show. The character of Ji Hoo was also lovable although his whole grandfather's plot wasn't that interesting. I feel like he should have had been given a better plot because his character had tremendous potential.

Gu Jun Pyo is of course the one who steals the spotlight in the end because of his impeccable performance and a very strong characterization. A typical rich, hot, "bad" boy who loves unconditionally can win over any girl.

The show had pretty solid dramatization and the complications never fell weak. It reminded me of Bollywood movies almost all through it.

However, it is a show I can enjoy any other time and would strongly recommend it to everyone who enjoys strong characters, good romance, glamour, drama and cute boys. It has everything in it.

Watching this I am reminded as to why I did not enjoy Playful Kiss (the Korean version of this drama). The story really bothers me in some aspects. I do not enjoy watching Zhi Shu verbally abuse Xiang Qin for pretty much the entire drama. What bothers me even more is that she just endures it. I get that he is emotionally closed off and she opens his heart…blah…blah…blah. I still don’t like it. By the end of the drama I wanted her to be with Ah Jin. He was cute, smarter than he seemed once he found something he wanted to do, and beyond that he was good to Xiang Qin and they had fun together.

The acting is good regardless of the story. One thing that I noticed is that even though the cinematography doesn’t compare to the Korean version, it seemed more realistic this way. It worked for me.

I won’t rewatch this. If you can get past the fact that Zhi Shu is a jerk for most of this drama, then I recommend you watch it. Otherwise just skip to the last 3 or 4 episodes.

Really cheesy and silly, but it's that way on purpose. I like the exaggerated characters they came up with for the DBSK boys. Changmin especially is really funny. It makes up for any lack of acting skills. You can tell they just had fun with it. A good show to watch if you're a fan, especially a Yunho fan.

This is more of a game show. The comedian host wants to do a parody of the historical drama King's Man and the first half is the DBSK boys going through challenges to test their acting skills and see which parts they'll get. Then the second half is them doing the parody scenes until they can do it without any NGs.

It's really cute and funny, especially for a DBSK fan.

I liked it. I'm not someone who usually likes a lot of Korean drama, I mean, usually I find them more trouble than they're worth so this is the possibly the fist Korean movie I can truly say I enjoyed.

A lot of parts though had me cringing, especially the female lead's attempts at seduction cause every time she came up with an idea I would close my eyes and be like "This can not end well." But it was really funny, though it'll probable make you feel embarrassed for her.

Her reason for doing, well, what she was doing, I found a bit weird and lacking, but I realized the whole honor issue is a big deal in most Asian countries and I've actually seen something like that in another drama so it didn't really bother me much.

Anyway, so I gave the story a ten cause though it's quite usual and ordinary, the transition and pacing was good and easy which I cant say for a lot of dramas. The acting I found really good. The female lead acted out her part really well, that I was actually able to sympathize with her character in most parts (some not so much) and the male lead not only spoke very convincing American English, he also played his part really well. I mean, some might say that his face had a lack of expression at some points but that's because that was the character he was playing. He is a cold ruthless business man, he can't be expected smile or cry at everything he feels. I was actually able to tell what he was feeling even with the "lack" of facial expression which i think is remarkable. His acting was really good, and most of the actors did a really good job.

The music for me was very unusual cause i have never heard music like that in a Korean movie before so i was actually really pleased it seemed to fit. I mean it sounded a bit americanized at first but when i realized it was actually Korean, i was like "Hmm, cool." So the music was a very big plus for me and very appropriate.

Would I watch this again? Maybe, probably, yes. 'Maybe' because i usually don' like to watch things where the female lead makes a fool of herself, but 'probably' because I liked the movie, and the characters. I didn't find the transition from English to Korean, awkward at all.

Basically I jumped into this without reading the reviews but I'm happy about that because I found that most of the faults mentioned I didn't notice till I read the reviews so I actually enjoyed the movie. And it was funny too.

so yeah, I would recommend this. It's really good :). Good enough to inspire me to write my first ever review on my drama list. Hurray :D
