This, particularly japanese, drama is short but intense. Every episode has its emotionnal load, but it does not evolve into a melodrama with its subsequent tendancy.
Story:
The subject of the death of a friend is well tackled. The emotion varies from smile and laugh to tears smoothly. The end is great... I almost have only praises to say. The only minor flaw that I felt was that it was difficult to go to another episode. The worst could easily happen after most episodes, which made me stress too much to watch the next one. I forced myself to watch the end and I am happy of it.
Acting: The acting was overall good. But the way they express emotions may sometimes seem emotionless compared to manga-based drama. This is especially true for Inowaki Kai. But when I asked myself, how I and other people would react in the real world, it suited the characters and the overall atmosphere.
Music: Most of it is classical music well-suited to the moment. The musics were diverse for the length of the drama.
Overall: The ambiance of this drama can make you live great moments. Spare some time for it!

Story: The story revolve around different type of lives, especially from the romantic viewpoint, that women in their late twenties can live. Despite the short length of episodes (23 mins, basically 20 mins without the ending and the introduction), the point of view is naturalistic and the description of what the characters at this stage of life can live is pretty exhaustive. I kinda love this type of plot and it was well-made so I loved it.
Acting/cast: The acting seemed overall pretty good to me. At the beginning I didn't like the president, but over time he was presented more humanly and the whole acting made sense at this moment. I love Nakamura Yurika, so every time I could see her, I was pretty happy. Otherwise, Reina Triendl played a bit too cute for nothing to me (exaggerating cute movements). But it is pretty common in Japanese drama.
Music: Their was almost only the introduction theme (played differently, for example with synth) and the ending in the whole drama. But considering the length of the episodes and that their was very little music between the introduction and the ending, it was ok.
Rewatch Value: I watch two times the 5 first episodes with pleasure, so I think that the rewatch value is pretty good. The fact that the drama is pretty short, 3 hours 50 minutes and around 3 hours 30 minutes if we skip the ending, makes it easier to watch several times. And it was pretty much fun to watch so I'd do it with pleasure.
Overall: If you like realistic drama, I recommend it warmly.

Story: Each episode has its own original story and characters coming from different seasons of the Garo franchise. So each episode can be watch on its own.
I found episodes well-made and accessible to a mature viewership (which was my worry when beginning it). Each one of them made me want the next; it was so catching!
Note: Except one episode, female characters are pretty well represented within every episode with good characters and almost none sexist representations (which is a frequent issue of action type movies/series).
Acting: I found it pretty good. I loved Nanri Miki and Momose Misaki's characters. And Hotaru Yukijiro playing as narrator was amazing. Otherwise, not much to say: it was good.
Music: Within episode, I didn't really notice the music (which I usually do). So it was ok. But the ending was bad to me, but it seemed to be in the standards of Tokusatsu.
Rewatch Value: After ending episodes, I wanted to watch them again. And I think that I will watch it again after watching the precedent Garo movies/dramas. So excellent!
Overall: It is a good introduction to Tokusatsu and Garo license and a good drama to watch overall. I highly recommend it to people who doesn't know Toku and to those who like Garo.

As most of the manga based drama, this serie rely on how much you can merge into the drama. If you allow it to take all your thinking, the feeling of constant tension, brought by the episode or two episodes long gamble, and by the hope that the main character can rise in the academy, could make it enjoyable from the beginning to the end.
But, the tension in this season is faked by non-gamble related resolutions of gambles. And the evolution of the main character is linear and too predictable.
Story:
This part of the Kakegurui story is pretty useless. The first season introduced the Kakegurui world and introduced the objective and the main character. But this season only prepares the movie. One season followed by a movie would have been more suitable.
Direction: The biggest flaw of this season is the soliloquy-like moments, in the middle of the gambles, that should help to understand the point of view of the character and increase the pressure, when release it. Because, we don't care of the gamble, we already know that the resolution won't be related to the precedent events.
Acting: Their is almost no acting related issues, because actors only have to travel from a hyper stereotyped face and voice to an other. And they do it pretty well.
Conclusion: This season is not worth your time. Skip it and directly go to the movie.
