Story: (10/10)
Sakura kara no Tegami tells the story of a terminally ill teacher, and how his students uses the words from his letters to resolve their struggles. This drama is realistic because it portrays the hardships a girl can face while growing up such as torn friendships, issues adjusting to a new family, insecure pregnancies, bullying, etc.
Each girl has their fair share of problems. Each episode shows how the girl overcomes their issues to achieve happiness, and mutual understanding with their friends and family. My favorite part of this drama is how you can take a lesson from each of these girls. These lessons include being honest with your friends instead of trying to impresssthem, or be like them. Also, to seek support if you are hurting yourself, being bullied, or insecure about pregnancy.
Acting / Cast : The drama uses the AKB48 members from the first few generations. The acting wasn’t over exaggerated. It was natural. But every girl had significant character development even though their acting was minimal.
Music: The main song in the drama series is AKB48’s Sakura no Hanabiratachi meaning Cherry Blossom Petals. It’s a signature song that they sing in graduation ceremonies and concerts.
Rewatch Value (10/10): I will definitely rewatch this heartwarming drama because each episode taught me a lesson. The girls had the support they need to overcome their problems. There weren’t any obviously pointless scenes.
