• Gang Rape – Based on Miryang gang rape case of 2004 where over 40 male high school students raped several middle school and high school girls over the course of 11 months

2. Esperança
Korean Movie - 2013
• Child Rape – Based on the Nayoung Case of 2008 where an 8-year-old girl (under the alias 'Nayoung') was kidnapped, assaulted and raped by a 57 year old drunk man at a public squat toilet. The girl suffered from injuries to her internal organs after the incident but survived after receiving treatment from a hospital.

3. Ninguém Pode Saber
Japanese Movie - 2004
• Child Abandonment – Based on the Sugamo Child Abandonment Case that took place in Japan in 1988. Four children (who each had different fathers) were abandoned by their mother who left them with ¥50 000 for living expenses in their apartment in Tokyo.

4. Spirits' Homecoming
Korean Movie - 2016
• WW2 Comfort Women – During WW2, women and girls were forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army in occupied territories.
A Japanese magazine (DAYS JAPAN) publication was released in 2014 which featured portraits of former comfort women. The images themselves are also very confronting, so if anyone is reading and is interested in checking them out, please do so. The images are accompanied by an article explaining more about the historical context.
