Ranking Khaotung cries and First smiles
because i am bored and have too much time to fill and it works for a link in the intro to the story i write to cheer myself up and it cheered me up to make this list at a time when the story got stuck. it's descriptions of what might happen in a madcap series with characters inspired by some of my favourite actors so i'm going to go recursive and include it here.
Chaotic Boy Energy: Series which will never be made set in the world of Thai BL. No one can make Khaotung cry. This is very important. He deserves a respite. 12/10 cause his character gets to be happy for an entire 12 episodes. It's chaotic boy energy comedy so First's character never has a reason to not be smiling and we can imagine he's thrown his entire repertoire of smiles in. Well, almost his entire repertoire. IFYKYK ;) 12/10 Drake is a vampire. So are Neo and Mrs Hong. Louis is an imp who may be older than calendars. He's not sure. Prigkhing is their sister and head of cybersecurity for prevention of antiquark war in this arm of the galaxy. Her team, coded named Channel 3, have hacked satellite networks to use for teleportation to and from the planet. Piploy is a shapeshifter in honour of the number of times I've failed to recognise her in a new role.

1. Eu Não
Thai Drama - 2021, 14 episodes
No Khaotung but the best for First smiles. Yok is a great character. 100/10
-
2. The Shipper
Thai Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
First has two characters, a boy and a girl's soul in a boy's body, and shows how exceptionally skilled and versatile his acting is. A different set of smiles. 100/10
If you've not seen it, don't read the synopsis or anything else. Just jump in head first (it's on GMMTV's youtube) and let it take you through its twists and turns.

3. Astrophile
Thai Drama - 2022, 18 episodes
Unless someone who knows tells me otherwise, I'll continue to think they cast First primarily for his smile and to further increase the friendly, comfortable warmth of the series. Was hoping he and Jennie would be friends and smile like they do elsewhere but they're never on screen together :( Fun comedic moments with Lookjun. Minor role, not his best acting, but the series is very much worth watching for itself especially the first 2/3rds. 10/10

4. 55:15 Nunca é Tarde Demais
Thai Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
I cried more than Khaotung, but then my sell by date came early and two of the stories hit hard.
The times Khaotung does cry though were both less is very much more. Excellent acting from all the leads and many of the support roles. This is such an unknown gem 20/10

5. O Eclipse
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Khaotung's character Ay hides his vulnerability in his rebellious cheekiness. When it comes out, it comes out. Someone hug that boy please. 10/10
First's character Akk hides his vulnerability in his rigidity and forcing himself to meet an idealised standard of the perfect student. His performance here is constant light and shade. 10/10

6. Ton Hon Chon Tee
Thai Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
Khaotung cries. Less is often more and he found the right level for this character. He always does. 10/10
Bonus points for writing which managed to put an oh. my. god. laugh out loud both in shock and amusement moment into Chon's days of justified upset. It involves a teddy bear.

7. Only Friends
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Khaotung cries. There are small cries. There are heartbreaking cries. There's a hell of an epic long cry. Someone hug that boy and don't stop. Like ever. 10/10
The list of emotions First doesn't go through will be small. It's not Not Me but some great First smiles. And omg those scenes with the bairns. 10/10
The plots and pacing are all over the place, veering from trashy to wholesome and even hits downright sappy before it's over. But the criteria of this list is cries and smiles so up it goes.

8. Moonlight Chicken
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Khaotung cries. He made Earth cry in every take. First's character had only just met him and he cried. The senior extras cried. You will cry. 9/10
Post-list rewatch: He's also good at showing trying not to cry. And the short scene with Jim when Gaipa can't stand. 10/10
First's character is going through a rough patch. He used to smile, we see that in flashback. He's starting to smile again at the end, and that's all the more special. 7/10

9. BLACKLIST
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Khaotung is barely in this but yes, he cries. It's brief thankfully, because the circumstances are ick. 1/10
First gets to smile and be chaotically boy. 9/10
Since the sort by options are boring and we can't sort by cries or smiles, let's just put this at the bottom for symmetry cause it's amongst the best for First smiles but a thankless role for Khaotung. Not BL but very adjacent given the cast.
