The hit Coupang Play K-drama Boyhood will reportedly continue its story in a new season. 

On January 9, several media outlets reported that the recently concluded Coupang Play original K-drama Boyhood will have a second season. According to reports, the production team is doing their best to conclude the script for season two. 

It was also stated that the main leads, Yim Si Wan and Lee Sun Bin, haven't been informed of the official schedule of the new season.  Lastly, it was reported that the new season will be released within this year. 

Coupang Play responded to the reports through media outlet X Sports News. According to the OTT platform, "We are currently in the stage of positively reviewing a follow-up season for Boyhood. No other details have been decided yet."

The director of the K-drama Lee Myung Woo mentioned in one of his interviews that there is a possibility of a second season or a spin-off series. Other actors who also had an interview expressed their desire to have a new season. Anticipation rises as the possibility of a second season is high.

Boyhood revolves around the students at an agricultural high school in Chungcheong Province in the 1980s. It focuses on the life of Jang Byung Tae, a small and weak boy from Onyang in South Chungcheong Province. After transferring to Buyeo Agricultural High School, his life turned around. 

The K-drama was led by Yim Si Wan, Lee Sun Bin, Kang Hye Won, Lee Shi Woo, Kim Yun Bae, and Kim Jung Jin

Boyhood aired from November 24 to December 22. It had a total of 10 episodes. The K-drama gained a lot of popularity ever since its first episode. In the 7th and 8th episodes, the viewers surged by 1938% which led to the server of the platform being paralyzed.
