The character stills of Moon Ok Gyeong (Jung Eun Chae) has been unveiled.
Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born tells the story of Yoon Jeong Nyeon, a girl with a talent for singing who strives to become the best Gukgeuk (national theatre) actress. The K-drama is set against the backdrop of the immediate aftermath of the Korean War in the 1950s, an era characterized by poverty.
Moon Ok Gyeong is the brightest star of the Maeran Theater Company, always cast in lead roles and is among the most popular actors in the company. Although she constantly wears a relaxed and easygoing smile, she has a poker face and never fully reveals her true feelings to anyone.
The stills give a glimpse of Moon Ok Gyeong in action. Her dandy short haircut, perfectly fitting shirt, relaxed gaze, and warm smile melt the hearts of those who see her. In one still, she exudes the elegance and grace of an artist as she gently beats the janggu (a traditional Korean drum) while sitting in a peaceful and beautiful pavilion.
What stands out most is her charisma when on the stage. Her piercing gaze exudes a commanding aura, and her confidence fills the room even when she's alone.
The production team stated, "In the drama, Jung Eun Chae's character brings Kim Tae Ri's character into the world of Gukgeuk and is also a top star admired by Yoon Jeong Nyeon (Kim Tae Ri). Jung Eun Chae's portrayal of the character was so fitting, both on and off camera, that the crew even nicknamed her 'Prince'. We ask for your high expectations."
Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born is scheduled to premiere on October 12. More news about the K-drama's global OTT platform is yet to come.
