Before High Cookie officially premieres, it was officially announced that the upcoming thriller fantasy K-drama will also be released on Netflix.
On October 19, it was revealed that aside from KBS and U+ Mobile TV, Netflix will be releasing the K-drama High Cookie.
High Cookie will officially premiere on October 23 through KBS and U+ Mobile TV. The first four episodes will be released from Monday to Thursday. Afterwards, the K-drama will then premiere on Netflix with four episodes at once. New episodes will be out on Netflix every Thursday.
The upcoming K-drama will tell the mysterious happenings in an elite high school. It will showcase the struggles of people who want to survive the quicksand caused by a dangerous and harmful cookie that makes the wishers' plea come true with just one bite.
It will be led by Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Hyun Wook, Kim Mu Yeol, Jung Da Bin, and Seo Bum June.
The series is the newest project of director Song Min Yeop (Youth of May, Doctor Prisoner, and School 2017) and writer Kang Han.
This will be the first original K-drama to be produced by U+ Mobile TV. High Cookie will have a total of 20 episodes.
Meanwhile, the report did not state if High Cookie will only be released in Netflix Korea or if it will also be presented in other countries.
Nam Ji Hyun will portray the role of Choi Soo Young, the breadwinner of the family and the only person who takes care of her younger sister. She does all the part-time jobs she can do just to provide for her and her sister. One day, her younger sister got involved in an incident caused by a homemade cookie.
Choi Hyun Wook will play the character named Seo Ho Su. He is a 3rd year student at Junghan High School, the best private school in Korea. He often gets bullied by rich classmates at school because they think of him as a pushover.
Jung Da Bin on the other hand will play the role of Choi Min Young, the younger sister of Choi Soo Young.
