The message is not helpful... but the acting and the action scenes were exciting.
I really had high expectations about this k-drama, how not to get excited with such a good cast and the performances really met my expectations, but about the story itself I do have some things to say. First of all, I consider that it is obvious that this is not the right k-drama to prevent and give knowledge about such a delicate subject as suicide, if that was one of its objectives it failed to achieve it, because at the end (as well as other kdramas of this style) they show this act as selfish and almost senseless, and that the one who commits it should be punished, which is very ineffective in most of the real cases. Using this resource is a bit risky and delicate, but leaving that aside and from my own point of view, I found the first part quite exciting and intriguing, the chase scenes were probably my favorite, however, in the second part it took a turn, although it was not my favorite, it still managed to capture my attention, unfortunately in its last two chapters it became a little boring and personally failed to move me enough, as it seems it was intended. I don't think it was totally bad, in fact it was okay, but I think some things could have been better executed (I clarify that I didn't read the webtoon, so I don't know how well adapted it was).Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Plot: Season 2 doesn't have the majority of the pacing and goals issues that season one had. In fact, it's so good at setting small stakes that not only do the first two episodes have a separate revenge-style agenda set for the main character but the final episodes also have a clear sense of risk and drive. While the main character is still an unpleasant dumbass, the show is finally more at pace with it and it comes across as an inside joke between the viewers and Death than just a badly written MC. Plus, the emotional connections that season 1 lacked are here galore and it can really get to you by the end of the show. I actually liked this part a lot. I guess the issue was always a pacing problem but I give the writers some credit, it feels like a difficult plot to balance. There was still plenty of melodramatic violence and I want to say some was gratuitous but at least this time it worked with what the plot was trying to achieve.
Acting: I feel like maybe this half also had a stronger cast? They brought the characters alive and sure, we had more time to connect with these characters (thank goodness!) so it was easier to have emotional investment in them but the good acting helped too.
Music and production: Same as season 1
Rewatch value: Hmmm still none.
Negatives: The MC really is an absolute idiot! So it didn't ruin the show this time but he does frustrate a lot. And the jump from episode 4 to 5, there is such a dramatic shift from fighting death to revenge plot that I was a little skeptical at first but it was well-executed so it wasn't so bad. But they sure took their time to make a very simple point!
Overall: This half was actually good. I know it wouldn't be a meaningful show without the first half though. So this is a conflicted review. I can't tell you to watch the first half because I really disliked it and 50% is a lot of a show to tolerate for the longest build-up. But if you're willing to sit through that, this half of the show was very enjoyable so definitely keep watching. I mean, it's not a top ten show of the year or most loved or anything for me but it was watchable.

A MUST WATCH
I haven’t read the webtoon so I have no idea how accurate it is. As someone who has only watched the tv show it is definitely a must watch. The story is original and very well written. There is never a moment where I felt bored and was wanting to turn it off. A message is presented throughout the show and I think it is one that will stick with me for a long time. Actors/Actresses’ are phenomenal and I really enjoyed them acting on screen. any recs for dramas like similar to this let me know!Esta resenha foi útil para você?

"life itself is an opportunity. it's okay to fail as long as you keep going"
Death's game for sure has one of the most creative storyline out of all kdrama I've ever watched. At first I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was kinda skeptical about the idea of having to follow 12 different people throughout the whole show. I wasn't really sure how they could even make a good story out of it. Despite that I was very pleasantly surprised by how good everything was about this show.
Not only is it a very well written and original story, the show has very good acting of all 12 characters that the mc got to live, very stunning, beautiful and realistic visuals, and surprisingly interesting side characters that make the story so much more appealing. What shocked me the most about the story tho wasn't even the revenge plot (even tho it was a very nice addition to the main plot), but the death's themselves. In his 11th death we find out that the mc is actually the person that killed himself in front of his past self, resulting In him killing himself years later what lead to the same events (a paradoxical loop). The connections between the death's u see throughout the story were very fascinating to me and made the story even better than it already was.
This show was very meaningful in the sense that it's not only fun to watch but teaches you something. This really changed my view on suicide and death in general. It made me realise how less life is being appreciated nowadyas and how much we shouldn't take it for granted (as cheesy as that sounds). Death is a very good character imo. Despite her cruel actions, is death a very smart character who mostly tried to teach the stubborn mv how wrong he was for ending his life. Litterly almost every line of Death has some real life meaning behind it. Its only after dying 11 times that he's aware of his mistake, but by that time it's already too late.
This kdrama is overall very unique and interesting. I'll definitely be recommending this to others💯

Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster with this show that skillfully navigates the aftermath of suicide, featuring a truly remarkable cast. The storytelling offers a unique perspective on the struggles faced by those left behind, tackling the heavy themes of depression and its ripple effects. Each episode is a thrilling exploration of life's value and the potential consequences of one's actions on both personal and interpersonal levels. The show poignantly highlights the absence of second chances, emphasising the irreparable nature of certain choices.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
something different from other kdramas
When a man at the end of his rope tries to take his life, he's confronted with Death. As punishment for taking his life so lightly, Death forces him to go through 12 different lives — with 12 impending gruesome deaths. The only way he'll be able to save himself is if he survives Death's game. A man who chooses to end his life is plucked by Death and thrown into a game. As he experiences twelve different bodies, he gains a new perspective on living. While some people are monsters with no redeemable qualities, others are pitiful individuals who were dealt bad hands. After experiencing the world through other people’s eyes, Death presents our protagonist with a second chance, but whether or not he takes it is up to him.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Death's game part 2
I will repeat from part 1 - I do not really know if it is a spoiler or not but this drama for sure is not for people who do not like brutal scenes, there are quite a lot maybe not so much visually but still. Also it is a pretty bloody.Once again cast was perfect, Seo In Guk is one of my favourite actors and he just once again proved how good he is.
Also his OST's song is so good, I listened to it for a month on repeat.
If I remember correctly this part had also some sad scenes. Also I have to admit that this drama contains some important topics as depression and our value for our family.
It is something worth watching if brutal scenes do not bother you.

Tout ça pour ça?!?
"Naughty boy, your life is falling apart in front of your eyes, you can't catch a break, you are depressed, there is not end in sight to the misery you feel, and , yet,you are not considerate of feelings of people around you?!?!? How dare you? Their feelings are more important than yours!" This is, in short, what Death wants our hero to understand.I am a bit undecided now: the ending was not really to my liking, though it is a positive one: it reminded me too much of the shock I felt when I watched Tunnel. Everything was rebooted, he went back to the beginning, so all the running around trying to outsmart the murderers was for naught?!?
The main character, depressed and at the end of the tether, commits suicide. He is met in the afterlife by Death who offers him twelve chances, lives of soon dying people, to beat her, i.e. death. While he fights for survival and gets repeatedly murdered, he realizes: 1 that all those lives are connected to a serial killer and 2, life is precious not only to the person living it but also to all those who love them! Eventually he wins the chance to repent and continue living his own life.
The cast was amazing. But the characters were just cliché: rich chaebol heir who can buy his way out of every trouble, poor people willing to do anything to get out of poverty, some brave and a lot of corrupt policemen, poor brave mother, long suffering girlfriend.....One problem with the cast is that I did not find convincing the 60 yr old actress (a very very good actress) playing the 30yr old version of her character!
Cinematography was stunning in the parts with the Death: the doors to hell looked like an upside down christian cross. The killer often went to church as well, so I guess the religion plays a bit part in creating this universe: sin, repentance, belief....
This was a great watch, bloody and gripping but with the reboot happening in the end, what was the point of getting the serial killer when he is eventually still free. It looks unfinished since he is back at the moment of his death when the serial killer had not been discovered yet. There is definitely one episode missing! Or they did it on purpose so we can decide ourselves where the story goes on from there?
It is a story of how a society you live in puts goals in front of young people who are forced to achieve them or perish because shamed...

Human being villain of his own life
What would one feel like if they knew they're gonna die but given an opportunity to save yourself, but don't know how and when, it will make you anxious and terrified but that is how death is, it can knock your door anytime 🚪 this is the story of Death's GameThe show's first half offered gut wrenching, glorifying, infuriating and thrilling stories but with less attachment to the characters In contrast with the second half which was more humane, filled with emotions, frustrating and heartwrenching.
Despite the cliche and predictable route taken in the second half of the story, it managed to keep me hooked because I was intrigued to see how it would conclude.
The second half, being more focused on emotions, I felt somewhat disconnected from the story as the first half didn't offer any of it. However, it still makes sense, as it reflects how individuals grapple with the importance of their own lives.
It offered a perspective on the value of life, prompting questions about whether it's too easy to give up on it, even though death may not bring happiness but definitely brings pain to your loved ones.
Overall, it was a great watch, despite some predictable storylines here and there. It kept me hooked until the end to see how everything would unfold.
It was 8.9 unless the ending, the ending kinda ruined it nevertheless the show was great;)

Death's Game: Action-Packed Thrills with a Satisfying Finish
"Death's Game" captivated me from the start with its compelling mix of weak hero class and John Wick-style storytelling in the initial episodes. The highlight for me was the thrilling fight scenes that added a dynamic edge to the drama. What I really liked was how all the characters' stories connected, adding a cool layer to the drama. While the second half didn't quite match the brilliance of the first four episodes, it maintained a good overall quality.Overall, it's a binge-worthy show, and even though a Season 2 might not happen, I'm satisfied with how everything wrapped up. If there was more, I'd be curious to see where the story could go. " give me a headline for my review.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Such an interesting plot!!
I would like to imagine that when one dies they get to experience this, I’m not sure if the rules are the same when you sin (by killing yourself) and then you can only go through what he did or if in general people who die of natural causes die and go through that. I for one would like to experience different lives honestly, watching this from an outsider’s perspective isn’t the same so maybe I would regret saying that but watching this story unfold was so thrilling!!Each character had their own problems and backgrounds, and the way the story came full circle on the second to last person his body entered to and then him entering his mothers body…what a plotwist!!!
Shows like this always keep me in check when I have bad thoughts and they make me realise that fighting through the bad will get me far. It really is not worth throwing life away over inconveniences that will one day end.
Very beautiful, I recommend it!!!
