Suspenseful Romance of Time Traveler’s Wife
Amid the vast sea of mediocre cdramas, this one is a true mini gem. This drama is about the male lead who finds out his first lover committed suicide. Accidentally, he discovers he can time travel, and tries to change the past in order to save her.Note, there is a post credits scene at the final episode that explains the time travel (I’m pretty sure it was done because of censorship).
POSITIVE:
- Mysterious and suspenseful plot.
- Lots of unexpected and cool twists and turns.
- Good balance between angsty and sweet romance.
- A true time travel story.
- Great cinematography.
- Well-written script without stupid cliches or draggy/annoying parts.
NEGATIVE:
- Some things happen a bit too conveniently but it's fantasy after all and it keeps the plot moving so it's not a big flaw.
- Ending doesn’t fully wrap up (if we don’t take into account the post credits scene). While we’re given hints about what happens, I wish it had been fully shown. I was deeply invested in the story and main leads so I would’ve liked all loose ends tied up. That’s the only reason I’m giving it a 9.5.
OVERALL:
This is one of the best mini-dramas I’ve ever seen! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The drama is reminiscent of The Time Traveler’s Wife (USA) and Yesterday Once More (Chinese), so if you love time travel and romance, don’t hesitate to watch it.

Binge Worthy for this short web drama about time travel. It is suspenseful and engaging.
"Nine Times Time Travel" is a short web drama about time travel that is suspenseful and binge-worthy.The Synopsis: Brain scientist Shan Yu accidentally learns of the death of his first love, Min Ying, who was holding a birthday candle before she died. Shan Yu lit the candle, and a miracle happened with the light of the fire - the candle could take him back ten years ago! Shan Yu crossed many times to save love but accidentally caused a butterfly effect. A fond past that has been hidden for ten years has also surfaced...
This drama is great, with many twists and suspense as Shan Yu travels back in time, hoping to change the past and save his lover. You have to really pay attention because things move so quickly between the past and present that you may get lost in the translation if you don't pay attention to it.
I had to rewind a few episodes toward the end to catch the switch between the times. Daisy Li is good in short-web drama. I like her in Provoke and Revenge. I also like her in "The Oath of Love" as a supporting role.
I gave it a 7.0 rating, and Lin Feng Song also did a good job playing the ML.

Love & candles
Apparently this is based on the K drama with the same title. I have seen said drama but years ago and all I remember are the candles and the Himalayas. But I remember liking it (though when time travel is concerned, i am not picky: I adore the concept!).A man discovers a bunch of candles that can take him back ten years so he uses them in order to save his girlfriend's life. This is the basic plot: but it is eventually really complicated, with many changes accomplished in the past which radically alter the present.
I have to give it to the writers: every time I'd see a plot hole and say "Aha! Gotcha!" , they'd find a perfectly logical explanation in accordance with the overall plot. It is practically foolproof if, of course, you accept the original ridiculous premise of time travel inducing magical candles! There is also the advantage they had going with the short format: they did not have too much time to ruin the drama with unnecessary subplots and complications.
Production value is excellent, the pacing perfect, the acting solid, music nice.
Since it is a c drama and since they are not allowed to do time travel themed series, there is an epilogue after the credits of the last episode which explains, using some incomprehensible mumbo jumbo, that the whole thing was just a coma dream. The full version (3h50 on youtube) does not feature this epilogue so you will be left wanting answers since the story is incomplete (or rather left on a cliffhanger!).
Definitely one of the best short c dramas!
