ITS AWESOMEEEEEEE
Bruh, first of all I was a bit annoyed by the fact that the FL is a con artist but the way the ml accepts it and knows that she is gd is just amazing 🥹I've watched it until epi 8 (it's still ongoing) and bro i love it.
I watched all the episodes in one day-
Trust me, it's good.

This drama is a must watch!
Coming from someone who hasn’t really finished a lot of kdramas, I surprisingly binged through this one. I am absolutely devastated that I finished this. It was probably one of the best stories I’ve ever watched. I am normally not a big fan of family-themed dramas, but this one is hands down amazing!I would recommend this to literally anyone. It’s got an intricate plot that keeps you invested the whole series. The acting was top tier too! Honestly this was just really well done.
I hope they make a season two but it’s probably unlikely. I just love their wholesome family so much! If anything is stopping you from watch this, forget the hesitation and give it a go. It’s probably one of the best dramas I have ever watched tbh!
There was nothing about this that was bad, like I can’t even think of anything. And you know what, I’m giving this a 10/10 since it is so well deserved! I have never rated anything a 10/10 before, so this will be my first. I can’t wait to watch this again in the future

It delivered.
With only 12 episodes, a series needs to well written to deliver the 'punchline' by the end of the show and for certain this show did. If you love series, that are not necessarily slow-paced but takes it's time to deliver, then this series will definitely pique your interest.A common pitfall of many (Korean) series is that, the show starts out interesting, has it's moments in between but by the end of the show you're either completely lost in the mess the writers created or you simply lost interest.
Luckily the writers have not missed the mark during the production of this series, and delivered a series I will look back on years from now, thinking back how much I liked it, unlike some other shows that had me flabbergasted with the ending, for the wrong reasons.
For those thinking of starting out this show, it takes a few episodes for some people to really get into it and personally for me I thought the show was only getting better with each passing episode.
I could've added some more details about the show itself in this review, but going into this series blindly is probably the way to watch this seemingly hidden gem.

How to fall for scammers: Bok Family edition
I started watching this drama because of the superpower aspect of the drama. I was curious about how they lost them and what special thing Da Hae will do so they regain them. Let's just say it almost fell short. Our Atypical family has five members: Grandma (Bok Man Heum) who is the family leader and has precognitive dreams, Grand dad (Eom Soon Gu) who serves as the family pillar and a normal guy, Dad (Bok Gwi Ju) our male lead who can travel to the past and the supposed family gym runner, Aunt (Bok Dong Hee) who is a former model and can fly and the Daughter (Bok Ina) who is shy and introverted and can read minds. They all, well 3.5/5, suffer from "modern-day problems" like insomnia (grandma), bulimia (aunt), depression (dad) and smartphone addiction (daughter-she is the 0.5). I think I-na just needed a little more adult care and some therapy, then she would've been fine. They are all struggling to use their powers because of this alleged problems but spoiler, it's not, it's because they aren't happy. See, this family merely coexists with each other under the same room with grand dad trying his best to keep everything afloat. Enter Do Da Hae. She alongside her "adoptive" family run cons to get money to pay off her late dad's debt and the Boks (quick question: why didn't they take their dad's surname?? I digress) are the latest targets.
At first it seems like it will work seeing as they are practically beyond repair. But because of her fixation on playing wife and healing them, she unintentionally drags them out of the slump, and injects some happiness into them, thus curing them. She also helps them reconcile and finally care for each other thus mending the family. And she also falls in love putting the plan at risk because conflict of interest. Our unexpected second couple comes from Ina and her school crush who notices our invisible girl as much as she tries to stay hidden. He has her back and always makes her feel important.
This drama was a fun but mostly frustrating watch. Ngl, until like ep 6 ish, I was struggling to figure out how I feel about it. I was serving an interesting mid if I could say. There's fun moments and painfully obvious clichés. Not to mention the main couple's romance being outshone by the Kids. I won't talk about how the writer gaslighted (?) us into rooting for the main couple's romance after all the things Da Hae did to manipulate them or even how Ina's supposed friend turned best friend turned BULLY was just not happy about her not talking which is why she humiliated her like that..😑😑🙄🙄.
Not the biggest fan of the ending because it just raised more questions and I wish our young couple deserved more screen time.

Grace and bok dong hee + things I hated for no reason (maybe)
When I started watching this drama i didn't have very high expectations because the title sounded boring and this isn't a drama that I usually watch but surprisingly I really loved it. I loved the chemistry of the ml and how the girl was "villain". The story was interesting but it was too slow sometimes. Because of that I don't think I can rewatch it very easily. There is still few things I didn't really like. I hated how they make the dead wife be the bad person who cheated him, blamed her child for being born and make I na hate herself. and I know that they wanted to make room for the main lead but still she didn't deserve that. And then there is the mom she is terrible person and u can't make me think otherwise yes she can see future and it can be traumatic (her dad's death) but still she was mean for her own children she make bok dong hee hate herself for liking to eat and she didn't support her dream to be model and she beat her son when he was little (I think I don't know if I remember correctly) she also was bad wife for her husband who did all the work on the house and take care of her. Next thing I loved and hated same time grace and bok dong hee they were amazing I loved their chemistry and they should have ended together like they build the chemistry and relationship but they didn't do anything with it like why and then they just added the uncle there like here's ur husband like I had never seen them even talk it was so random she should ended up with grace they were my favorite couple. (I really loved the series still)This is all I could think of for now and sorry if there's lot of writing mistakes and other mistakes. I watched it in English so I maybe haven't understand everything correctly. Please tell me if there is mis information. thank you for reading what I have to say:)

Marvel Meets Parasite & Kdrama fantasy
Take Marvel, Moving & Parasite together, add a dash of Kdrama fantasy & you'll get A Typical Family. Brilliant plot, genius ending.A very Atypical drama. Gave away few plot spoilers already if you are watching with interest.
It's been tagged as romantic show on Netflix while the first 2 episodes are quite intriguingly mysterious vibes. It's a family of super heroes in their slump era with lots of back stories to unfold and to their further misfortune they're being surrounded by con artists who I believe also has some kind of super powers or something they're hiding.
Overall, a fantasy show like vibes with quite a promising start Maybe Moving kind or maybe Marvel kind. The ML has a unique time slip superpower as well as the other members of family.
Intrigued me enough to continue so let's see how it unfolds.

Rewatching drama
Really it a boring story, I keep falling asleep everytime I'm watching it... Acting is good, but why the f do we have to watch everything in slowmo. explaining every goddamm detail that we get and understand without showing it in every time jump!!! Some scenes really are like oke.. What's the piont and others are that's cool but they switch the story back to the boring explaining a that we already understand...For example him returning to the hospital!! Every goddamm episode it's about the hospital and fire!!! We get it already

The hold this drama has on me needs to be studied.
This drama got to me, okay. To demonstrate how much it Got Me, I can tell you that when I finished watching it I immediately started rewatching. There are two pivotal, wrenching moments in this drama that illustrate the magic of this story and the emotional impact it had for me:
- The end of episode 5, when Gwiju finds Dahae locked in the room and she thinks: “a hope I didn’t deserve quietly emerged in my heart.”
- The climax of the finale, when he finally saves her from the fire and tells her: “This isn’t the end, it’s the beginning” — knowing he will die in the next moment.
These two moments, besides being traumatically romantic, encapsulate what this story is about — healing and transformation. In just 12 episodes The Atypical Family delivers satisfying character arcs for virtually its whole ensemble, and it says that redemption and healing from your past traumas is possible. This is exemplified perhaps by Gwi-ju’s character: a man who starts the series shutting himself off from the world because he is unable to cope with his failures; only after letting go of his endless grief, repairing his relationship with his family and daughter, and making the choice to love again, does he reach self-actualisation and becomes the person he longed to be since he was a boy — a hero who can save someone’s life. This is a masterclass of a character arc.
I can say the same for Dahae, an actually complex female lead who in any other kdrama would be portrayed as a conniving bitch villain; this drama actually says that in spite of her crimes, she deserves to find a family who loves her, and she deserves to be saved.
That is in essence the message of the drama — we do deserve to be saved from a burning building, and start again.
My one and only beef with this drama is the fat suit — as other reviewers have expressed, it is disappointing that kdramas still won’t cast plus-size actors. This arguably diminishes what is otherwise a beautiful character arc about Donghee finding self-acceptance and learning to fly again.
Still, on the whole, this drama left an indelible imprint; there are moments from this that I will probably remember forever.

Vou sentir saudades.

One time watch worthy
What I liked:-Interesting Plot:"Aytical Family" weaves a captivating storyline that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish. The narrative intricacies are compelling and draw you into the characters' lives.
- **Second Couple (Teen Couple):** The dynamics of the teen couple were particularly enjoyable. Their youthful romance brought a refreshing contrast to the more serious main plot.
- **No Excessive Twists:** Unlike many dramas that rely heavily on convoluted twists and turns, "Aytical Family" maintained a straightforward storyline. This approach kept the drama believable and easy to follow, enhancing the viewing experience.
**What I Didn't Like:**
- **Bit Slow:** At times, the pacing felt a little sluggish. Certain scenes dragged on longer than necessary, which occasionally affected the overall momentum of the drama.
Overall, "Aytical Family" is a solid drama with an engaging plot and charming characters. Despite its slower pace at times, it remains an enjoyable watch, particularly for those who appreciate a balance between drama and romance without an overabundance of plot twists.

Interesting Story
Took a bit to get hooked but overall this drama has an interesting storyline. ML and FL worked well together. Supporting cast was cast well too. The one thing that stood out was the OST-some of the music really was different from older dramas and really added to it. By episode 2 I thought-good music. I feel as though I should re-watch this one as I think I may have missed some clues. I think my favorite character was the ML’s sister. Very relatable. Interesting based on Korean standards. Give this one a try!Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Lost powers & con artist
Well, this was interesting to begin with, then annoying only to end exasperating stupid. This year, I have been dropping k dramas as if they were hot potatoes. Moreover, about a month ago, I went into a serious drama slump, going from watching at least three episodes a day in the week and triple that on the weekends to barely half an episode a day. Actually, nothing grabs my fancy any more and I am finally rediscovering the joys of reading.
What do you get when you mix Marvel superhero films with a con artist series like Leverage? You get this minus fun which equals a waste of time!
The premise is interesting: superpowers lost due to modern time diseases like depression, greed, food. In comes a con artist who wants to con them out of their fortune but she falls for the depressed son. The plot unfortunately takes itself too serious and starts veering into serious territory, which is a wrong way to go. They should have kept it light instead of going for healing and turning the new leaf. Most of the characters are annoying, starting with the main couple. He is depressed and therefore unkempt with a very bad haircut. But even when he is happy again, the very bad haircut remains a very bad haircut. He has absolutely no chemistry with the FL. The actress manages to pull of a rather credible teen in spite of being over 30! Kudos for that! The rest of her character is steeped in contradictions: is she sincere or is she lying? She's been working off the debt her dead father contracted with a loan shark for the past 13 years. The loan shark is a horrible cruel person who deserves a serious punishment but all she gets is a redemptive sob story arc and now she is the kindest soul alive. As usual, korean parents are not painted in favourable light.
What made this drama watchable are the support characters: the kid (amazing actress!), the sister (deliciously bitchy) and the taciturn uncle (kinder than he looks).
The story managed to draw a few laughs especially the main couple's date under the surveillance of the uncle: "Do you feel happy now?"
The last ten minutes of the drama are rage inducing: he can finally be seen by everyone (why?) when he goes to the past so what does he do? Does he save the person eh couldn't before? Of course not: he just stares at him with teary eyes while saying nothing for a very long time! Does he save the girl? Yes but before saving her, he spends a long time talking to he in the fire instead of jumping to safety and then talking. How stupid can you be?!?!? I guess they needed that to introduce their son. But again, is she an idiot to send her 5 year old son look for his father in the fire? They came out unscathed but still....
There was another thing I liked about this drama: the unusual end credits song, it was really original! And last but not least, I was blow away by the way they filmed the obese version of the sister: it was the most believable foam suit I have ever seen and the actress managed to portray an overweight person credibly. Well done!
