Healing Revenge : Marry My Huband leaves you craving for more.
This drama is not just about returning to the past and getting revenge on those who wronged you, instead, it combines healing yourself, finding yourself, and romance alongside with revenge. While watching this drama, you will not find yourself bored, instead watching with anticipation of what's going to happen because it gives you QUALITY with literally everything! ~ the dialogues, the makeover, the romance, revenge, and healing!
This drama uses a classic revenge plot, everything has been done before, yet it is done in a manner where that does not feel annoying or repetitive, you can expect to see common things like:
- FL & ML who goes back to the past ✅
- Fl gets revenge on the people who were close to her ✅
- truly shameless ex-boyfriend and best friend ✅
- Rich Ml who has loved the FL for a long time✅
- Acting: The actors did an amazing job of portraying the characters so that you can feel their emotions; the shameless boyfriend and ex-best friend will make your blood boil and want to scratch their eyes out... I want to go inside the screen and slap both of them. They made me so mad!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ )
p.s: The best acting reward goes to: THE CUTEST ORANGE CAT! (so adorable!!)
- Plot: Although nothing about the plot is new and the themes are common, the drama does a good job of making its twists and turns to keep the watchers engaged. The revenge is so satisfying and the romance between the leads grows as well as their character development. FL slowly and steadily became strong with the male leads' support to get revenge and get back at them.
- Music: Honestly, I do not remember a single song they used as it blended into the background a little too well, and it was not overall impactful. However, there were these scenes where they used BTS songs for a big moment! And it was very unique and cute!!
At this point, if you haven't watched it, I going to come to kidnap you and make you watch! So give it a chance ^^

Not my cup of tea
As a fan of the webtoon, the webtoon ofc establishes the characters and their motivations much more clearly and in a timeline that makes more sense. I haven't read the web novel so I'm not sure how much they pulled from there vs the webtoon. But I'm honestly unsatisfied with the changes they've made to the story at least from what I've read and known from the webtoon. It feels like they watered down a perfectly good plot and characters into something much more generic. Like the source material was great, handed to them on a silver platter, and they chose to make unnecessary changes like adding in this rival (Yura) for Jiwon, watering down Jiwon's character into someone much less resolute or ruthless with her desire to really take the reins back on her life, involving Eunho much more than needed to in order to exacerbate the "love triangle", taking away the accomplishments of the other FLs such as Juran and putting them all on Jiwon instead, etc.It just sucks because it's honestly a nice empowering narrative of independence and confidence in yourself and your choices, while also still sharing a message of the power in not being alone and being able to truly depend and have people who actually care for you. But all this was kinda watered down into a generic revenge plot.
A positive I can take away from this kdrama though is that the portrayals of the villains was perfection, Song Ha-Yoon and Lee Yi-Kyung deserves a lot of credit and recognition. All that said, while I highly recommend the webtoon, the kdrama might be a hit or miss especially if you're watching this coming from the webtoon.

This was fun
Finally a drama about bad parents, bad spouses, bad friendships, and a hint of divorce is no only necessary but may save a persons life... Done kind of odd. As this drama mixes a bunch of my beloved clices ads a moment of confusion interesting twists (some more predictable than others) and mote or less enjoyable characters. The good ones may do questionable things but are so good they make you cringe at times.... The villains are so evil it is hard to feel for them. That said they did make it very clear how difficult it can be to break loose...
Even while knowing the ending... fighting back agains those close does take its tool.
That said there are several parts in this drama that made me go :Oh come on... and oh no shi***.... As some twists could be sensed a 14 episodes in advance.
This is not a. masterpiece but a fun watch for those who can appreciate a man who can wait, wrist grabs, evil, gaslighting and a different twist to the secound chance go back in time romance.

My thoughts on the show
I think the show started off well with a lot of promise at the beginning, but sadly, it lost its steam somewhere in the middle for me when they dragged out the 'revenge' plot for as long as they could, and it probably got even worse towards the end when they unnecessarily introduced a last-minute villain in the form of Yura. The acting was great, though, especially the main antagonists, Park Minhwan and Jung Soomin. To be honest, in some ways, I felt like I continued watching just for them. The romance was so-so. It's a situation where, on paper, it would've been cute, but watching it, it just felt bland. It's the type of romance where I wouldn't care if they get together or not. But it could just be due to poor execution. They do have some chemistry, but I find Jihyuk (the male lead) to be a pretty bland character overall. But at least it has a satisfactory ending, with all ends tied up nicely for the main leads.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Great concept
I liked the revenge plotline at first and the actress portraying Su-min was really good, I watched 'Please Don't Date Him' fairly recently so to see her play the antithesis was really cool and well done; I went from rooting for her and now wishing on her downfall. My main gripe was the romantic aspect, more so that it really lacked in my opinion and I think it was played too straight, I could literally call each scene before it actually happened, and while there is a bit of a formula to romantic kdramas, that wasn't the issue though, it was that I didn't care for the main couple, there was no real chemistry. To me the male lead felt more like Batman than anything, which is wild because I have seen a few clips of the actor and he's comes off really charismatic in real life. Also hated the addition of the ex of Ji-Hyuk being such a villain. I will admit the ending was cuteEsta resenha foi útil para você?
Excellent performances paired with a substandard script
==Breakdown==Background plot - 60%
Romance - 30%
Misc comedy - 10%
Background plot - Meh
Romantic chemistry - Excellent
Misc comedy - Meh
Production value - Good
As always, Park Min Young was excellent. Na In Woo was new to me and I was impressed. He really sold his part. Everyone else was cast perfectly. The "bad guys" were fully committed, especially the best friend, and their performances were often disturbing (which was the point, I think).
The problem was the script and, therefore, the actual character development. I'm usually fine with cartoonish caricatures in fluffy / silly shows, but the good guys were nauseatingly good and the bad guys were over-the-top bad. Like, moronic, no redeeming qualities bad guys.
Given what the actors and director had to work with regarding the script, I thought it was the best it could be. Thus, 6.5.

Tried to extend my patience to this show but eventually dropped it. They changed too many plot points from the webtoon and totally ruined the plot (especially the truck scene because wtf was that!!!). Not only that, the leads totally have no chemistry at all, and the FL actress doesn't have the spunk and fierceness that the FL has in the webtoon. The only saving grace for me of this show is the actress who played the sister of the ML, who has the similar sunny and protective personality as the one in the webtoon. Kinda wished that the budgeting of this show went to the budgeting of Perfect Marriage Revenge instead because that show has more potential if they had the same budgeting and marketing MMH has. Good stakes for a time travel revenge drama
Just watched episode 1 and will update when I've finished the drama.Wanted to note that in the first episode the drama does one thing immediately better than most time travel dramas in this Melo romance genre: it creates stakes.
If the female lead (Park Minyoung) changes something about her fate then it happens to someone else. If it doesn't transfer to someone else then it will definitely happen to her. So every action is balanced.
This lends a tightness to the story I wasn't expecting.

Ep1
I've finished watching the episode and I can only say good words, the acting is very realistic, both actors have chemistry and I hope we don't have a love threesome. This is my first kdrama in 2024 and a best choose. There are some scenes very hard but it the true, not a pink life. I want to listen the BSO but is very early because it’s the first ep.
I think it can be one of the best kdramas of this year, we're still starting but the premiere has been good.
We're going to see revenge and lots of self-love. I LOVE IT.

Skipped half the things after 8 episodes
Watched this simply bcoz of the heroine. I love her presence. Many have listed positive aspects. I'll concentrate on boring ones for change. This doesn't mean that I didn't binge watched it in 2 days 😁:* Things became boring the moment the 2nd female villain entered the viewframe. That actress is boring to look at especially when you compare it to how the two main villains were so refreshing to watch until then. Afterwards their habit of taking clues fr this new villain was too predictive. I get that her presence was meant to indicate ML lead's personal struggle against his fate but she simply comes across as irritating filler after 8th episode.
*Su Min didn't have to have childhood or familial connection to FL for her to have grudge against her. We know that ppl hold gudge and jealousy without any familial connection. This urge by showmakers to connect love or hatred to early years in such blatant way takes you away fr whatever little realism is present in the shows.
* Do all the disapproving grandparents need to use that sound note to speak?
The BEST thing about this show is main 2 villains upto 8th episode. I simply skimmed over the rest of the episodes. Don't have that much patience. Loved the heroine but the actors who played the villain couple stole the show making audience think about all the vile ppl of these sorts they have come across in their own lives

Interesting premise, decent execution despite a few shortcomings, overall a satisfying watch
SPOILERSThe premise is interesting but also tricky to execute well, and I think for the most part it was very well executed.
I really like the characterization of all of them, but especially Jiwon - she's kind, but not a Mary Sue. It's a little understated what passing on her fate to Sumin actually entails - it's not just "if you want Minhwan so bad you can marry him", she's actively trying to make sure this woman dies instead of her. Not that it's a bad thing, it's fair enough considering Sumin was so eager to see her die, but it makes it clear that Jiwon is not altruistic, her kindness has boundaries and this is reinforced over and over - if someone screws her over, she has no hesitation to screw them over in return.
Jihyuk feels a bit like there's not much to him beyond him being in love with Jiwon, but well he is her allowance so I guess he gets a pass?
Slowly unravelling the many ways in which Sumin has constantly manipulated Jiwon and the people around her to make her life difficult makes it all the more cathartic when she gets her payback.
I really appreciated the direction it seemed to be heading in after Sumin and Minhwan get married, with Jiwon thinking that she has successfully passed on her fate to Sumin but realizing that it's more complicated than that when her situation ends up mirrored to someone she is close to instead. Juran being at the risk of dying better contextualizes what passing on her fate really means and reminds us that fate is not that straightforward and manipulable. It would have significantly weakened the plot if Sumin marrying Minhwan was all it took for Jiwon's fate to be transferred to Sumin. While they did carry this arc to a decent conclusion, I wish they had focused on it more.
I do have a few gripes, mostly with the later episodes. The pacing and structure was pretty good in the first 11 episodes, and then it seemed to devolve into utter chaos. The stakes dramatically went from 0 to 100, while the plot derailed into something overdone and predictable.
Did we really need Oh Yura? She serves a purpose, not just as the one to put things into motion and then take Jihyuk's fate in the end, but also as a way to balance Jihyuk's all-powerful protagonist with an all-powerful antagonist. On the other hand, I've never liked this archetype and she felt even more unnecessary in this story. Her introduction and the escalation she caused felt like a detraction from story that had been set up through the 11 episodes before, and frankly a natural escalation from the events and characters that were already set up would have felt a lot less jarring. The final episode manages to get back on track and give a good balance of action and emotions as well as satisfyingly tie up all the loose ends, which makes up for a lot of the issues I had.
I like that it's Minhwan who gets Jiwon's fate, that after terrorizing and trying to kill the women he had power over multiple times in both lives, he's the one who ends up dead at one such woman's hands. This also means that Sumin gets to live - and be miserable as she watches Jiwon be happy and be unable to do anything about it. For her, this is a fate worse than death. Yura felt too much like a cartoon villain for her life or death to provide any emotional value, she needed to be dead because of the danger she posed and so she had to die - and she took Jihyuk's fate while she was at it and finally made herself useful.
This is a bit nitpicky, but it bothers me that the things that were set to happen over the course of 10 years ended up happening in a few months time. Obviously, they can't stretch it out for 10 years, but it might've been better to go for a more reasonable time frame to begin with, like 2 or 3 years at most. The premise is that things that are destined to happen will happen anyway, and you can only change who it happens to. To some extent it makes sense that their interference may accelerate some events, but it felt like one plot point too many getting preponed by years, especially Juran getting Jiwon's fate 10 years in advance. It also felt a little funny to see the bag and heels ten years before they were originally bought - which would mean that in the original timeline they were outdated by a decade and not nearly as expensive and trendy as they were supposed to be.
Overall, I think the show hit the mark. It has it's shortcomings but they don't hold it back from being a satisfying watch with many powerful and cathartic moments. It's also important to mention the lighthearted and heartwarming moments of friendship, family and romance interspersed in between to balance it out. All of the cast were amazing, and Song Hayoon and Lee Yikyung especially deserve their flowers for playing the antagonists so well. Park Minyoung, as usual, knocked it out of the park. All in all, a good watch.
