A MUST WATCH
Just wondering how i missed this beautiful drama these many days?!It has everything a BL needs,
--->VERY GOOD CHEMISTRY
--->FULL CHARACTER ARC
---->UNDERCURRENT TENSION
---->ANGST WITH HAPPY ENDING
----->LOVABLE SIDE CHARACTERS(so many good characters like Bar owner, Ae ri, yoon won..etc)
------>SATISFYING ENDING.
Totally loved this. This is a slow burn romance-So it might be boring for people who love fast paced dramas.

Perfection
First and foremost I just want to say, kudos to everyone involved. This is the best bl I've ever seen and I don't know if anything is going to ever compare. Every actor portrayed their character amazingly, even for the actors who had to portray unlikable characters, they were so unlikable because of how amazing the performances by the actors were. I could go on and on praising the writing of this show, especially episode 6. I heard so much praise about the show so I had high expectations and those expectations didn't even compare to how highly I think about this show after watching it. The show was shot in a way that felt like an indie movie which I enjoyed a lot. I love how these characters actually feel like real people who have lives outside of the moments you see within the show. And to put the cherry on top was how mental health was portrayed. Jaewon's depression wasn't taken as a joke or as someone that should be frowned upon and I love the therapist representation.

MASTERPIECE
Jihyun - nejroztomilejší člověk na světěJaewon - nejvíc depresivní a sexy gay na světě
Jezis tohle bylo tak skvělý. Ta vizuální stránka pico a ty barvy. Nádhera. Do toho ten soundtrack úplně mood v každé situaci. Jedno z nejlepších korejských bl.
Jinhyun a Jaewon byli úžasný.
Doporucuju. Jen vynechejte 7.a 8.díl. To vám bude ještě lépe.

This show is healing for me
I wanna say so much but I feel like I'm eating my own word. I'm so overwhelmed. This show is just so realistic mesmerizing healthiest. I don't find any word or syllables from dictionary to describe this. I want to see them more but honestly I don't want more season because it's end so beautifully but if they decide to make more I'm totally up for it. All the episodes are so good and every episode have its own charismattic story. I cried laughed get emotional, overwhelmed. And it's so relatable with my own life. I loved All the character some of the character can be little annoying but in the end they have their own story so I really loved it. I feel like it is one of the best bl drama not just in bl world but best drama ever made. Good luck and best wishes for All the cast and crew members. Bless there work. ✋✋Esta resenha foi útil para você?
"gorgeous excellent unbelievable amazing" ~choi san of ateez
For me, this is 2023's first queer drama to ace all categories. This drama clearly took itself seriously and everyone involved went above and beyond to make one of the most beautiful queer relationships I've seen in a while. Not only is the plot more realistic and intense than most queer dramas, but the acting is done perfectly to match. Despite the fact that both main characters play difficult roles, they never feel unrealistic or out of touch. The scenes never get too intense to the point where you just feel miserable and the editing and comedic timing also play a huge role in that.Overall, if you tend to look down on a lot of queer stories due to their inability to create realistic and genuine romance, this is the drama for you.

A Powerful Story of Love, Loss, and Healing
This has been the most visually stunning and plot heavy BL series that I have seen so far and it was a pleasure through and through. Nothing about it spells like a regular BL series until we reach the last episode and that is just to tie all the things up neatly. This series deals with darker themes around trauma, death, betrayal and self-discovery. These are all important topics that are often overlooked in BL dramas, and I was glad to see them tackled in such a thoughtful way.The story revolves around Kim Ji Hyun, a freshman studying arts who embarks on a new journey in bustling Seoul, and Seo Jae Won, a popular student and son of a wealthy businessman returning from military service. Through the journey of these 2 characters, we get to see the picturesque beauty of the beaches and the noisy capital city with its variety of restaurants and pubs.
One of the things that makes this so special is the way it tackles the topic of mental health. Jae Won is a character who is struggling with trauma and depression, and the show does a great job of portraying the challenges he faces. It is refreshing to see a BL series that addresses these issues in a realistic and sensitive way
Beyond the breathtaking sights and sounds, the heart of this series lies in the compelling story of these two characters. We find Jae Won suffering from a trauma for which he is seeking psychiatric help and has been suppressing his true feelings and emotions to appear to be someone that people like. On the other hand, Ji Hyun is going through his own journey of discovery in this new city. As their paths cross, Jae Won finds comfort in the company of Ji Hyun while Ji Hyun himself is trying to make sense of his feelings towards Jae Won. The story moves along at a slow pace thereby giving you an opportunity to immerse yourself in to the lives of our main leads. You get character introductions, back stories and their flaws and inhibitions.
The creators of this series have made some artistic choices and most of them work in their favor. The lighting style used here has been exceptional in creating the mood and atmosphere. In multiple scenes you will find the character faces have been lit up in different colors giving depth to the scenes. During one scene at the beach with our main characters, the color scheme changes completely. There are multiple drone shots which used specifically to end a scene and although it works in many cases but sometimes feels a bit overdone. Similarly, we find excessive usage of hand-held camera with shaky footage. In fact, we get a sequence of drone shot followed by an establishing shot to shaky cam.
The performances by our main characters have been phenomenal. Jae Won's emotional wounds are vividly portrayed, and Ji Hyun's longing is beautifully conveyed through his eyes. The exceptional performances are undoubtedly one of the series' greatest strengths.
In conclusion, The Eighth Sense has set new standards on how to make a BL series with a good storyline and strong performances with visually appealing cinematography. It stands as one of the best BL series of 2023 thus far, making it a formidable contender to surpass.

One of the best BL!
Since I've watched lots of BLs, I don't get impressed easily. But this show stole my heart.Thankfully we've got LONG episodes and the storyline is really impressive. Not only it's a cinematic masterpiece, but I also love how it portrays raw emotions and deep topics.
The actors were lovely and every emotion they displayed so well that I believed them as if they really went through it.
Also, the chemistry between them was fantastic! Thankfully we got characters that have emotions and not only cute and emotionless ones.
And finally, I can't forget about the background music, OST. I love when BLs have good background music and in this one, it was SOOO GOOD, that I needed every episode to have Shazam in hand and add the songs to my playlist.
Overall, it was really pleasing experience and I look forward to rewatching it. I recommend watching it since the quality of this one is amazing. And I could say that it is one of the best ones I've watched through the years.

Art House BL
The Artsiest of Art House Films and the Sliciest of Slice Of Life Dramas had a BL baby. Every other BL I’ve watched has been a happy (for the most part) RomCom, dispensed in 10-20 minutes episodes full of seratonin. The longer episodes here intrigued me, and they were definitely needed for the deeper story. While there is a “happy ending”, I would absolutely not call this a happy drama. I appreciate what this Drama was trying to do. I just don’t know if, for me, it quite achieved. There were 2 characters that I found absolutley unlikable, and they tried to “redeem” them in the last 10 minutes which was just - Uhg. I do have to say- The OST is outstanding. Bottom Line: give this a try if you’re looking for a Korean BL that isn’t all sunshine.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

A SURF WORTHWHILE!
This is my first ever review.. Not because I never felt like writing one.. but cause this the first show that made me want to pick my laptop up as I just couldn't contain the happiness after finishing it, that I just wanted to share this!!!Where do I even begin?
The storyline was about two university students falling in love; simple, realistic and at times a little cheesy (minus the part where there is a SURF CLUB?! in a college at all) . They have their ups and downs; enough to give you a whiplash, while also being oh-so comforting.
But what makes it stand out for me, is it being paired it with an amazing screenplay, cinematography and acting. This show is just high up in terms of standards set by Korean BLs.
THE GOOD:
ACTING:
Except the psychiatrist's character (who I am not sure knew what she was talking about?!), all the characters were realistic, well layered, relatable.
The actor who played Jaewon did an amazing job with his portrayal of a young man in his mid 20's, anxious about his future, bound by unsettling relationships, full on sexuality crisis and a past trauma. The highs and lows of the character's emotions were reflected so well on the actor's face, that by the end of the show, I could personally feel the happiness and relief in his eyes now that he gets to be a little bit himself with Jihyun atleast.
'Jihyun' was an equally well written and well played character. The actors' chemistry was a treat to watch, that by the end you will end up wanting more of them. One of the highlights of the show for me though, was definitely his character development. From a scared country mouse to gradually a confident person.. a treat to watch. I love that he was strong enough for the both of them when needed, stuck by Jaewon at his lowest.. while also putting his feelings out there. Loved that confidence for him. The showdown between Eun ji and him is definitely worth mentioning.
Joonpyo, Yoonwon and Ae ri are the supportive friends we stan (Joon pyo and Yoonwon were not a couple I saw coming to be fair). Although, Joonpyo and Aeri being there forJihyun was amazingly depicted, it was Yoonwon's potrayal of a happy go lucky woman on the outside.. while being so helpless on the inside that hit me right in the feels. It was one scene.. but she partly stole the show for me.
While Eunji was still a character I could understand, Tae Hyung can go **** himself. (No hate to the actors though. amazingly played).
CINEMATOGRAPHY AND SCREENPLAY:
The whole indie vibe to the show, while every scene reflected the emotions of the characters with an amazing cinematography. I have nothing more to say.. But PERFECT! They set the standards too high.
THE NOT SO GOOD:
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: Although the patch up scene is one of THE most beautifully shot and acted scenes EVER, it was too rushed. There is a lot of pent up issues specially on Jaewon's end, to be sorted. Be it his past trauma or the fact that he ran away from Jihyun EVERYTIME there was a problem. The guy needs to speak more about what he feels.. a character development needed.
CONCLUSION:
Overall, it was an AMAZING WATCH for me.. and a MUST WATCH to those who haven't. Though I am HOPING FOR A SEASON 2 ,to explore more of Jaewon's acceptance of his feelings, a realistic coming out and the issues the LGBTQ+ community face on a daily basis, Joon Pyo's relationship with the senior, Taehyung's character development...so on and so forth.
