Acting can't get better than this
I have watched most of Gong yoo performances with being huge fan of his charming screen presence but for first time I felt he was more than just his own personality he was living the character, small details like his eyes, hair, costume and voice tone are so perfect that it makes you amazed.overall movie is a crazy screenplay with stupendous plot twists and some really disturbing visuals, best thing about movie except gong yoo is child actors performances.
there is this scene where gong yoo is with kids on beach and the one girl wishes he was her parent and that scene is so beautiful that it touches us very deep. I believe this movie teaches us about empathy and gratitude in a way that no other movie does.

Heartbreaking
Genuinely one of the saddest Korean movies I've seen, where many legal and cultural issues presented in this movie are still not completely resolved in many parts of the world today. It's hard to rewatch something so tragic, but this will definitely be a movie I will never forget.I think the setting, along with the music characterized the environment perfectly, where there was suspense, horror, and even scenes of happiness. I think this movie kind of also highlights the corrupt legal system in many areas, where rulings will be highly subjective in the judge's decision. Even though this movie is a decade old, it is still one of the greatest representations of inequities and inequalities in our society that many still face to this day.

Feelings
When I saw this movie by chance on some website, I didn't know that it would be so moving, at least for me.During the very beginning of the movie it was written that this movie is based on true events I didn't think it would be so brutal. I can't believe what people, especially adults, can do to children who are defenseless and innocent.
This film perfectly shows how today's power behaves, which will do anything for money if they are told how many scams can be done even for little money if someone needs them. However, you can also see the contrast that there are still good people in this world who can focus on the victims and help them, even at all costs, such as arguing with the family to show them the truth.
I had goosebumps and shivers the entire time I was watching. The whole movie was suspenseful.
To be honest, people who are more emotional will cry for sure.

So let's start by saying that before I got into seeing this movie, I read reviews and comments of our fellow reviewers and only post that, I saw this amazing film.
I watched this movie with purely one aspect and that is for its legal implications.
As a lawyer myself, I have come across many of my clients who have been abused, tortured and I can't even begin to understand what these victims must have been through. None of us can.
As lawyers and social workers we get to see the worst in human beings and it's really sad. We all expect justice, theoretically yes laws are always strong but when it comes to practicality, it's often vague. How much ever we scream against injustice, at times, yes they do not hear nor speak what they want.
I won't get into any another aspect of the movie and spoil the movie for you guys by revealing the theme.
What I can say is watch it. But only if you can digest abuse of all forms.
As for the actors in this movie. They were all amazing. Gave me the chills.
I like the way the main protagonist was not portrayed to be some super hero but he himself had his own personal conflicts and overcame all of them slowly.
Kudos to the kids. Superb. I could feel their sorrow. Their tears. Their screams.
Watch it. Trust me.

To start off, this story is totally unpredictable. You’ll spend 2 hours watching this surprised with whatever comes next. Gong Yoo and Jung Yumi were unsurprisingly excellent, and the child actors did excellently too! They portrayed a deaf-mute kid so well! Bravoo! The music was also tense, and it fits so well with the movie, when it gets a little sad, the music follows. The music was well picked. On the other hand, the only thing that bothers me is how the ending wasn’t really happy, since the corrupt prosecutors and lawyer, the evil principal and their wives didn’t get a taste of his own medicine. But overall, it was a really nice movie, totally recommended! A 9.5/10 ⭐️

This was just too much! I am heartbroken after watching. I knew It would be devastating but I didn't realize I would be so angry after watching b/c of the injustices these children faced at the hands of adults who were supposed to be protetcing them. Parent and/or guardians should not have the right to take thier childs voice away. The events in this movie just have me so emotional right now. I was yelling at the screen and asking where the media was to shame all these damn people. The cast is great but the young actors are the standouts here. Kim Hyun Soo as Yun Doo and Baek Seung Hwan as Min Soo.

I watched this movie right after I finished watching "hope" and to be honest mabey that wasn't the best choice.
my mind was already filled with anger and sadness but "Silenced" made everything worse, I couldn't believe what
I was watching was true and real and I kept saying to my self this is real this really happened.
I am familiar with the stuff that's going on in our world but watching it its not always easy an honesty it shouldn't be.
although the movie contains child abuse and violence and it's not everyone's cup of tea, I think "silenced" should be watched because whether you close your eyes on stories like this or not the world is full of stories like this and I think its better to watch than not to.
on to the film itself, I should say it was very well written and create
and the cast did an amazing job messing with your emotions.
because I'm a music student and university my self I think the music was a good fit for the story.
to wrap this up I should say I totally recommend this movie it's going stick in your mind and disturb your thoughts but that's what I love about a perfect movie.

I knew what I was walking into
This movie was incredibly made. I knew what this movie was about but no one would ever be prepared to watch anything like this. If you are uncomfortable with child sexual assault and/or rape in general I would not recommend watching this but if I’m being honest I don’t think I’d recommend this to anyone. When I walked into this movie I thought it would be the main guy preforming these disgusting acts on kids but I was wrong. My heart breaks for those victims and my heart goes out to them. Just the fact we live in a world with people like that makes my blood boil. The last 20 minutes left me had me sitting on my floor with tears forming in quiteI many opinions about what should happen to sex offenders/rapist, ect. I believe they should be castrated, tortured, then put to death after suffering for a long time.

Almost unbearable to watch, gut-wrenching and splendidly acted...An important cinematographic work.
This movie starts with the arrival of a new art teacher at a school for hearing-impaired children where he uncovers some truly horrendous wrongdoings. The story told is based on a true case, making it even more horrific to follow. It is a very difficult watch, almost unbearable at some points given the level of violence exerted on some of the protagonists. The level of acting of the ensemble cast is very high, especially the kids who are delivering beautiful performances. The main leads (Gong Yoo and Jung Yu Mi) are great and interact well with each other and the younger actors.
The production is really well done, some scenes are properly haunting and I was heart-broken more than once because of the tragic plot supported by some gut-wrenching directing choices. As the film approaches the topic of deafness, noises background, sound choices and even at some point music are also key to the well-executed story-telling.
It is not necessarily a film I would like to rewatch, as it is not an easy watch but it really left a deep and resounding impression on me as a viewer. Beyond question, it is an important and crucial cinematographic work touching on serious issues that need to be brought to light despite their darkness.
I would recommend this to people looking for a more serious watch splendidly acted. Be aware that this movie can be very triggering, so mind the warnings.

Awesome film
Such an important film so glad I watched it after seeing the deep dive done by Stephanie soo and the actual story that happened including how the film was made. Gong Yoo is an amazing actor. It's a hard watch considering the nature of the film but its films like these that have such an influence on humanity.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
School of horrors
Silenced is a South korean film released september 22 2011 Based on real life events. Silenced starts with the main character Kang In Ho who has moved to a new town to work at Gwangju Inhwa School for deaf children. Before he gets there he bumps into Seo Yoo Jin who gives her a ride to the school and tells him how she works with human rights organizations. When Kang In ho comes to the school he realizes that something is off about the students. From the way they would run away from him, or would avoid talking to him. When the students finally open up to him, he and yoo jin devotes himself to help the students receive their justice. “Silenced” being based on a true story makes it harder to figure out what the theme could possibly be. But the theme for this movie has to deal with injustice and the mistreatment of disabled people. The audience for this movie is for people 18 years and older. This movie contains graphic imagery of sexual assault and physical abuse . This movie was a heartbreaking watch, Knowing that this stuff happened in real life and that this movie doesn't even show the half of it. It hurt even more because you could feel the pain through the actors in this movies when they interact with each other. What is interesting about this is that after this movie was released it drew more attention to this case and caused public outrage. It even caused a change in laws and whole movements in South korea. This movie is such a moving piece on the insight on how humans can just be an absolute piece of shit. This description does not give them justice even worse than this. But this movie had me crying in the corner for minutes knowing that someone had to go through this and had to feel so small. But because of this reason I rate this movie a 10/10.
