A Waste
There was so much potential with this spin-off with Safiah and Zon, but it's lacking in the story department. In the short 3 episodes, we got, not much happens, and for the most part I'm trying to figure out where in the original Why R U this spin-off is supposed to take place.
Let's Dive In.
For the majority of my watch, I was confused. I loved Safiah and Zon, they were my favorite couple out of that series, but I could've done without this spin-off since it just made things more confusing. Does this take place before their trip to the beach, or after? For sure, I would've liked to actually enjoy this series rather than being hella confused.
Safiah and Zon did some cute fluffy moments, but that was it. This story felt like it didn't have a proper plot or conflict. If I can remember correctly, the conflict was that Zon didn't like that his sister's story was coming true, so he tries to stop things with Safiah. Correct? Except, Safiah pretends to forget Zon so that he'll want him back, but it's so unbelievable, and I can tell from the getgo that he's pretending. Nothing exciting about the plot, everything was pretty basic.
We get to see Zon's sister in this for a few scenes, hopefully, she's learned her lesson about writing love stories about her brother. I also wish we could've seen Fighter and Tutor, or maybe this could've even been a longer series to help build up the couples that didn't get a proper ending. For example, I would've loved to see Japan's story and to see who Blue decided between.
Overall, this series was pretty much wasted. There was so much potential to add some exciting things, but oh well. I guess I would recommend this to someone wanting to see more of Safiah and Zon, but I feel like we got a proper ending with them in the original story.
