What Dramas I Tend to Avoid

While I have liked dramas that have unrealistic story lines, I dislike campy acting and over the top silliness, whining, misunderstandings, and shows that drag on with the leads both moping over each other and why they can't be together, even though it's clear they'll end up together. I also generally dislike dramas involving infidelity and revenge plots if it involves get back at an ex-lover or an innocent person that somehow got entangled in the protagonist's life. I also don't like dramas featuring a bitter, resentful, manipulative villain, typically female and an ex-lover of the main male lead, who tries to make the main female lead's life hell and constantly tries to break them up and simply won't take no for an answer. Another annoyance found in similar dramas, is the obnoxious parents, typically the boy's mother, who tries to keep the female lead away from the male lead. Last, but certainly not least, there's the crazy, jealous, controlling man who will do anything to get with the main female lead including often attempting to force himself on the female to prove his "love" (more like unhealthy obsession and lust), but what do I know? These characters are completely devoid of any compassion, empathy, and redeeming qualities. I want to clarify I have no problem with villains, as in some stories it is called for, but the key to making a great villain is making us sympathize with his actions and understand where he's coming from, even though we know he's wrong. These characters I mentioned above, are just callous, cruel psychopaths and that's about as interesting as watching paint dry.
