5 Reasons to Watch Marry My Husband
1. Exciting Mix of Makjang Twist
One of the best makjang dramas I've ever watched! When I discovered the plot involved marriage affairs, I never expected it will be a delightful mix with comedy and fantasy elements. Each episode kept me hooked!
2. Thrilling Revenge for Betrayal
The revenge storyline is incredibly satisfying and each twist is fulfilling with the heroine ensuring karma for each villain.
3. A Journey of Starting Over
It's heartwarming to witness our heroine given the opportunity to make things right. Everyone deserves a second chance, especially with a strong support system by their side.
4. Office Sismance
Finally we have that perfect bestie we all wish for our heroine. She's the mood of the series! Here's to hoping for more vibrant characters like her in the future!
5. Meet The Villain You’ll Love to Hate
Song Ha Yoon succeeds in portraying both an irritating villain and the ultimate pick-me girl. Kudos to her for delivering an impeccable performance that contrast with her usual protagonist roles.
Unique Things:
Right from the first episode, I found myself rooting for the struggling heroine, cheering her on as she bravely confronts each toxic character one by one. Watching her going through physical and mental transformation throughout the series was inspiring.
Also let's give a round of applause to the Dad character for blessing the story with a reliable and supportive male lead. The allowance concept in between second chances are brilliant!
And when it comes to romance, Park Min Young's chemistry with her on-screen partner is always exceptional.
Beware of spoilers ahead
I have to say, the karma and revenge in this drama were spot on. The downfall and death of the ex-husband was satisfying, although I wish he had suffered from his debts a bit longer. And the twist with the ex-fiancée’s car accident? Brilliant.
I just a bit disappointed with Mrs. Yang’s cancer subplot. I was hoping for something more unexpected, like a misdiagnosis. As I hope the cancer goes to Su Min instead. Lastly, I don’t think Yu Ra’s character was entirely unnecessary. She helped tie up the loose end of the car accident for our male lead. But a little clue about the fiancée from the start would have been perfect.
Now, let’s talk about one of my new crush from: Na In Woo. I’m thrilled to see him shine in such an amazing drama after his last makjang, Jinxed at First, which I didn’t really enjoy (sadly, as I love both leads). Here’s hoping he gets more spotlight in the future!
I usually wouldn’t rewatch a makjang drama, so don't mind the rewatch value as this one excelled in so many other aspects.
